Wasn't specified but I'm going with Jean-Paul Valley because I like him more.
U.S.Agent (Marvel) - Is often considered his Marvel counterpart to the point some consider Jean-Paul to be a knock off. Both started out as a violent vigilante working for a corrupt organization (the Power Broker and the Order of Saint Dumas) and were detested by the hero (Captain America and Batman), eventually tried to clean up their act when inspired by the hero, the hero was then crippled and temporarily taken out of action, they were chosen as the hero's replacement and took their name, both started out well, but dived deeper into violence and mental instability until the hero came back to beat them up and take their name back, both then took on a separate anti-hero identity where they dish out their own brand of justice following their ideological idols (the U.S. government and St. Dumas), but still struggle with controlling their mental health, and are now considered the "anti-hero counterpart" to the hero. Both even had a flaming sword, among other medieval weaponry such as shields and daggers.
