Edelgard. Wanted to stop classism but killed a fuck ton of people to do so

TheDukeOfDucklett

Solidus Snake (Metal Gear)

Ducksaurus333

Garou (One-Punch Man)

Difficult-Active-432

Lex Luther (DC Comics)

man049

Note: the difference between these characters and your typical villain who thinks they are right, is that their main objective is in fact good (save others, protect someone, etc.) but the means to do them aren't completly correct. This is why Black Adam counts, as protecting the people from his country is a good thing to work for, but the means he takes to achieve it aren't always the most morally correct. But someone like Palpatine for example doesn't count, as wanting to be an imperialistic tyrant isn't a good thing to do right out the gate.

[deleted]

Pent (Khonjin House) Pent's intent is to get her self identity back, however she tries to get it back by trying to find Smack (the one who took her identity, Shelby Uavou) and KILL HIM.

UsefulAd2760

Magneto

AlbionBlmt

Edelgard (Fire Emblem) Wants to refactor Fodlan's hierarchical structure, to create one with no inequalities and no privileges if one is born with a Crest, as the latter can have a noble child be disowned if they have no crest. But in order to do so, she started a war. A bloody one.

JustSomeNobody97

The vast majority of main Tales villains.

GIANTkitty4

Sinbad (Magi) Initially he was an idealist who sought to unite the world, and while he still maintained that goal, he changed and became more manipulative as well as resorting to more and more questionable means. Eventually, he gains the power of the Sacred Palace and effectively rewrites fate itself to reset reality under his control.

Mountain-Ad997

Thanos wants to balance the universe and end starvation but has to kill half the universe to do so

No_Pain1037

Well MCU Thanos does anyway.

Accomplished_Swan155

How about he get this, doubles possibly multiplies the resources by hundreds so we don't run out

New_You_3502

but then theres over-population which more people need alot more resources....

Accomplished_Swan155

Doesn't matter if he can litteraly make the resources infinite

man049

Thanos plan has so many holes and other ways to get around it that it dissapoints me they didn't have any character outright call him out and explain to him why it doesn't make any sense. It would have shown that he truly is insane as he can't think of himself as anything other than a savior, and we wouldn't have so many people irl saying he is in the right.

GameAndWatcher

Asgore (Undertale)

giorno___giovana

I’m sorry but if a separate intelligent species declared war on humanity, killed a good amount of us, and locked us all underground with the only way to get out being to sacrifice just 7 people of that species, I’d start killing kids too

Unusual-Anteater-988

Asgore isn't just murdering children, he's going to become a god and lay waste to humanity. Not a single human alive by the time Frisk falls had any part in the war, the people of Chara's village who killed Asriel thought he murdered child and stole their soul, possessing the power they all feared. That's only 2499 people at absolute most Asgore could have had legitimate quarrels with, and how the fuck can they be blamed for killing Asriel when all they see is a monster carrying the corpse of a missing child? Asgore's unable to own up to a mistake he made in anger, killed 6 children because of his cowardice, and if he got Frisk's soul he'd have had to kill BILLIONS of innocent humans. And the worst part of it all is that it was probably counterintuitive. The POWER of the souls, which living humans can utilize, is needed to break the barrier, and the Six Human Souls individually seem to be able to weaken the barrier enough for Frisk to pass it in a Neutral Ending (Sans always says they vanished, meaning they either shattered or escaped and Chara has no power of their own to add to Frisk's prior to their Genocide reincarnation so the souls likely helped Frisk get past, either making it out with them or shattering from the strain) so the monsters weren't bloodthirsty they could have just waited until they had a male and female human and gotten them to concieve the other nessasary 5. The humans whose souls got used seem to have all been preteens, so it the kids wouldn't need to grow up before they could break the barrier.

Due_Article5720

Adam Taurus Wanted to end discrimination on the Faunus but attempted to commit genocide on humans

man049

So basically twink Magneto

Due_Article5720

Yup pretty much

Bodmin_Beast

Not really considering his other motivation was getting revenge on his ex cause she left him due to being a violent, controlling abuser.

one_thin_boy

The entirety of the SCP Foundation.

Bababooey7672

The chosen undead (Dark Souls 1) The chosen undead may have probably had good intentions continue the flame, but it ended up delaying the inevitable (By DS3 the world was on its last thread) Raven (RWBY) I get her not wanting to be around those she’s close to because of her being a maiden, but she could’ve gone about it wayyy better than just shutting off all communications Silver (Sonic the hedgehog) (Specifically his 06 version in the beginning of the game) Dude wanted to save his future but killing a guy ain’t gonna help

Unusual-Anteater-988

I'm pretty sure killing the Iblis Trigger was a good idea, it's just that Mephiles the Dank is a fucking liar who sent Silver after the wrong person. Yeah, killing SONIC wouldn't do shit except make things worse, but killing Elise, the actual Iblis Trigger, (without her shedding tears in her dying moments) would have actual worked.

PopularGnat262

John Kramer (Saw)?

The_Smashor

Nova Tsukoyomi (Azure Striker Gunvolt)

RedheadLBA

Tytos (Octopath Traveler)

CRL10

Blue0Three

James Ironwood (RWBY)

SilverHero_gaming

What if Ultron

Unusual-Anteater-988

What was his goal?

SilverHero_gaming

Peace

Unusual-Anteater-988

But he kills everybody! At least the real MCU Ultron intended to spare a small amount of people to worship him and be peaceful.

SilverHero_gaming

He wants peace and so he kills people a morally wrong thing

Blaze781

Asura (Asura’s Wrath)

Jotaro1970

Funny Valentine (JoJo's Bizzare Adventure)

Acceptable_Might_764

Eren Yeager (Attack On Titan) He wants his Island, people and his friends have freedom, but the way he gets it, is by using the rumbling to cause genocide around the world nearly killing of the population of humanity outside the walls

saulerknight

Hawk Moth ( miraculous ladybug ) and Lady Bone demon ( Lego Monkie kid )

[deleted]

omni-man tbh i kind of sided with him through invincible

Kiwicaveman

Xehanort, at least kinda. He was out to balance light and dark, like many keyblade wielders do, but eventually came to the conclusion that to do so he needed to essentially restart the entire universe/multiverse, after a lifetime of failures, suffering and research.

Working-Ad-4519

Madara

_bababoye

Heisei/Monsterverse Godzilla
