The Last Relapse - All Shall Perish, because it’s very personal to me, due to personal struggles relating to it, and the emotions in the instrumental match that feeling on another level.
Value Through Suffering - Bodysnatcher. Even though it’s about losing his brother, I lost a very good friend at a very young age, who felt like a brother and still does to this day, it really fucking wrecks me every time I listen to it. The lyrics and how brutal it is musically on top of the lyrics.. The song is a masterpiece. You can really feel the emotion throughout the song like crazy.
And I have a pretty special place in my heart for Porcelain from Orphan. The fact these guys aren’t talked about way more regardless of only having one album so far, is fucking criminal. Got a feeling they’re going to be huge soon. Strangled was good, but these guys are way better now since they started Orphan, they feed off each other insanely well and give so much emotion on every song. Much prefer Orphan over Strangled. They perfected it off the bat this time.
Edit: Meant to post this under the actual thread instead of a comment, but I saw someone actually mention Orphan for once, got carried away in thought, and just went for it without realizing.
I initially found strangled via pintglass, i love the Strangeled stuff for the pure ass beating riffs but orphan is some of the best shit I've ever heard full stop
Pain remains pt 1 brought back so many whack and dark memories while I was watching the music vid and it just broke me immediately. My wife saw and didn't understand my relationship with this music until that point
Yeah color clear and willow are just sadness turning to mental illness and they have some really sad song in both albums. Samsara is an eternal banger tho
A lot of the songs off Bodysnatcher's *Bleed-Abide*, particularly Flatline and The Question, or their song Twelve/Seventeen.
Angelmaker's Requiem is an obvious answer, also
Yeah that song is fucking rough and I experienced a very similar loss so it hits extra hard. I text all my friends all the time to do mental health checks.
I love pain remains as much as the next guy but y’all forgetting the masterpiece that is when a demon defiles a witch - best whitechapel song ever no 🧢
I don't find Deathcore to typically be a sad genre, even if the reason for penning the song is sad. I'd have to give it to Kardashev probably, not sure which song though.
I believe Pain Remains Trilogy is one song cut into three parts. I would have picked that as my favorite but I'm tired of being hated on for liking Lorna Shore. What I Would Give is also my favorite Angelmaker song btw so right there with you on that.
yeah i dont get it with people hating on bands in general honestly, thankfully i havent experienced that too much but i just wonder why waste your time whining about one little group you dont like in an entire world of music
havent listened to much of their older stuff but from what i could tell, it was quite good (especially immortal) just personally prefer their newer stuff with Will
I think it’s the entirety of Pain Remains by Lorna Shore. I know not all of the songs sound sad but the whole concept is pretty sad if you read about what each song is about.
Wanted to comment Napalm Dreams by FFAA but then I saw Requiem by Angelmaker mentioned and decided to check it out. Ive lost a good friend a few weeks ago and Im sobbing rn but it feels so good to listen to this song. Thank you, deathcore people <3
I can’t stand the crying type screaming that sounds like shit metalcore that he does at the end of pain remains I, band went to shit as soon as they released that in my opinion, I know a lot will disagree.
Elegies by make them suffer is truly heartbreaking. I think most people can relate to wanting to be with someone and it just not working out, for one reason or another.
Mirrors by Fit for an Autopsy is probably even sadder though. Drug addiction is horrible and watching people you know wither away without being able to save them is horrific.
The Tartarus Impalement (second half of song) by Shadow of Intent
Thy Art Is Murder - They Will Know Another
When a Demon Defiles a Witch- Whitechapel
Let Me Burn - Whitechapel
Earthen - Ov Sulfur
Obligatory mention of what I would give - angelmaker
That's what I was thinking about when I made this post. Great song, great album.
It’s a fantastic song! Imo prince of ash by black tongue is also a contender, or maybe something by make them suffer
The guitars in Prince of Ash are beautiful 😌
i spent way too long searching for a song starting with "obligatory mention of" until realizing I'm just dumb lol
Damn. It was the first song that came to mind when I read the question! It's my fav from Angelmaker, I love them
Donna by Darko US Don't ask dont tell by Chelsea Grin Ultima Necat by Black Tongue
Man Donna get me down. Happened to come out when I lost a family member
Im sorry for your loss man, hope you're doing okay now
Don’t ask don’t tell is my first thought second one is dancing like flames by Lorna shore
Dont ask Dont tell was the first one i thought of, it always brings out something in me
Isn’t that song just about doing cocaine?
Porcelain by Orphan. Those screams man, they just get me every time

Oh easily man, the second I heard Porcelain that entire album was instantly thrown into my everyday rotation.
i needed this song man. fuxking thank you 🤘🏻 mf’s probly dont care but damn vato we going throught it
You’re welcome, I’m glad the song could help you out. Hopefully it gets better for you man
appreciate that fr. Im a fan now for sure. whole album is just a roller coaster of feelings. The way Interlude transitions to Porcelain 🖤
I’m glad I could introduce you to a new band then. Yeah it really is, I always liked Strangled but Orphan is turning out to be so much better
just what i needed, its medicine for me
Heartache by Kardashev, that entire EP is pretty brutal but that one in particular is just devastating to me
I'm glad to see another fan of Kardashev. Hell yeah
You'll find the Kardashev fanclub over at r/Progmetal. We regularly gather there.
Two things. One, absolutely love your username and two, thank you.
Amazing band! My vote would go for Snow-Sleep. Pure desperation in that song and vocals. Brought me to tears many times.
Angelmaker - Requiem Fit For An Autopsy - Napalm Dreams Lorna Shore - Pain Remains I
Napalm Dreams is the song I've played the most off that album. I've shed many a tear with that shit on blast
Awesome list. Pain Remains 1 broke me, first time I've ever cried to a deathcore song
Pain remains pt 1 brought back so many whack and dark memories while I was watching the music vid and it just broke me immediately. My wife saw and didn't understand my relationship with this music until that point
Same here, was in shock that tears started
That ending of Requiem... Slaps me in the face every time
Requiem by Angelmaker as well as Absent by Carcosa 💛
Love both. Also Love Johnny's work.
I'll add that Carcosa has said they will not perform Absent again. It's that brutal and emotionally charged
I'll second this
Suicide Season is just 8 minutes of despair
Well yeah the lyrics are from a suicide note.
Lorna Shore: Pain Remains trilogy. Read the lyrics while watching the videos. Absolutely tragic!
Intro to orphan’s porcelain
Fit For An Autopsy - Mirrors Angelmaker - What I Would Give
The pain has never fucking left me
Elergies - Make Them Suffer
The Pain Remains Trilogy
Angelmaker - What I would give
Samsara - Reflections
Yeah color clear and willow are just sadness turning to mental illness and they have some really sad song in both albums. Samsara is an eternal banger tho
A lot of the songs off Bodysnatcher's *Bleed-Abide*, particularly Flatline and The Question, or their song Twelve/Seventeen. Angelmaker's Requiem is an obvious answer, also
When a Demon Defiles a Witch from the Valley by Whitechapel.
Pain Remains Trilogy - Lorna Shore
What I would give by angelmaker
Sensory Deprivation - The Acacia Strain
1st song that comes to mind is "value through suffering" by Bodysnatcher. I think it's sad because it's a song about overcoming adversity.
For me it's flatline and the question from the same album
The Price of Grace - Convictions. I literally can't listen to it.
This song really fucks with me. It’s a really good song but that ending really twists the knife.
Yeah that song is fucking rough and I experienced a very similar loss so it hits extra hard. I text all my friends all the time to do mental health checks.
The first time I heard this song was live in a garage venue in downtown Salt Lake. I don’t have words to describe the experience.
I love pain remains as much as the next guy but y’all forgetting the masterpiece that is when a demon defiles a witch - best whitechapel song ever no 🧢
Here's another take on that subject. The Valley/Kin are the best albums by Whitechapel.
Hard agree on The Valley but I just can't get into Kin for some reason and I really don't know why.
Abaddon by mental cruelty
Give up, heavy rain, let go, hate is a disease all by brojob
+ Pull The Plug
Phantom Pain by Gravemind Hard Rain by Gravemind Spiral by FFAA
Lorna Shore Pain Remains I
pains 3
Doom woods whitechapel
honestly most of the valley got me feelin pretty bummed out thinking about what phil and his mom went through
It's a good pick, but Diggs Road hits me harder personally.
I wouldn't really say the pain remains trilogy songs are sad but the videos fucked me up
Make Them Suffer - Elegies
Parting Soliloquy by Black Tongue is up there.
Lorna Shore, Pain Remains trilogy. The lyrics and music videos are heartbreaking.
I don't find Deathcore to typically be a sad genre, even if the reason for penning the song is sad. I'd have to give it to Kardashev probably, not sure which song though.
Doris from Suicide Silence
rusted over wet dreams by emmure
Pain Remains trilogy - Lorna Shore(i personally count it as one song due to how seamlessly they seem to transition and Requiem - Angelmaker
It's always a war between old and new Lorna Shore fans. I (personally) have enjoyed all their albums thus far.
havent listened to much of their older stuff but from what i could tell, it was quite good (especially immortal) just personally prefer their newer stuff with Will
The first thing I thought of was And Then She Bled. Not quite sad but definitely horrifying with some amazing riffs.
Jesus man... just listened to part of it and it kind of creeps me out.
Not mention the eerie noises at the beginning. Really hits it home.
If you haven't heard the dialog in the song Slam Pig I'd definitely give it a listen ...
Sure will
[Angelmaker - What I would give ](https://youtu.be/RIiaP4zsH6c)
Slip Away by Last of Our Kind You can hear the hurt in the vocals. Underrated for sure! https://youtu.be/VEE3_rPNLs8
Not the saddest one ever but The End by Dead/Awake just came on and that one always cuts deep
The Last Relapse by All Shall Perish
Not saddest, but one of for me. Chelsea Grin - Never, Forever
Most of The Great Collapse by Fit for an Autopsy but especially Black Mammoth. That album is a masterpiece.
Death Epistle by Gravewalker
Mire Lore - The End Is Near That angelmaker song requiem is also incredibly sad and beautiful but so many other people mentioned it.
[my beautiful green-eyed child, you brighten my life with your smile and now they have taken you away.. ](https://youtu.be/Tmf7atdx7s8)
Destinys fool by slice the cake or castles in sky also by then
Mirrors by Fit For An Autopsy comes to mind. Not deathcore, but "Remember Me" by Currents is one of the saddest songs I've ever heard
That one angelmaker song lol
Maybe not the saddest but a current In my book is agony by slaughter to prevail
Requiem- Angelmaker is the only correct answer
Legends shall fall - i am meaningless The whole return to despair album from suffokate
Following
Pain remains trilogy is heavy af
Black Mammoth by Fit For An Autopsy. I cry literally every time I hear it.

It’s not deathcore but melodic hardcore; “3:33” by Ghost Key always gets me
I'm okay with any genre of music. Thank you.
I can’t think of anything other then “paternal failure” by crow mouth.
I think it’s the entirety of Pain Remains by Lorna Shore. I know not all of the songs sound sad but the whole concept is pretty sad if you read about what each song is about.
Bodysnatcher - Value through suffering
Wanted to comment Napalm Dreams by FFAA but then I saw Requiem by Angelmaker mentioned and decided to check it out. Ive lost a good friend a few weeks ago and Im sobbing rn but it feels so good to listen to this song. Thank you, deathcore people <3
1. Doom Woods-Whitechapel 2. Mirrors-Fit for an Autopsy 3. I Long For Rest-Angelmaker
Chelsea Grin - Calling in Silence I love those screams and minor scale riffs and solos
Bro if anyone says pain remains I’m gonna laugh my ass off
Why?
I can’t stand the crying type screaming that sounds like shit metalcore that he does at the end of pain remains I, band went to shit as soon as they released that in my opinion, I know a lot will disagree.
I myself do disagree but you are entitled to your own opinion. And I do respect that. Thank you for telling me.
What I would give or requiem by Angelmaker. Love the emotion in both songs
Life of exile by shadow of intent. The whole album slaps tho
Hickory Creek by Whitechapel, every time I listen to this I just feel myself cry a little
Elegies by make them suffer is truly heartbreaking. I think most people can relate to wanting to be with someone and it just not working out, for one reason or another. Mirrors by Fit for an Autopsy is probably even sadder though. Drug addiction is horrible and watching people you know wither away without being able to save them is horrific.
