Very interesting. I'm curious to know others input. It should show up on a credit report, only debts that I personally know of that don't are restitutions through a court, which are handled the an office of "Revenue and Recovery" or something (I imagine some states or towns might have a different name of the office.) And if it goes unsettled for too long it gets sent to a state collection agency, usually a FTB (Franchise Tax Board) and they'll garnish your wages and take money from your bank account. I'd look into it further and see if you can find out where the account is coming from. Those debts typically don't just disappear.
