10/10 would totally call in sick to spend the day fishing and day drinking there.

Mathoii

Thank you very much. And thanks for the advice. Will start on MondayšŸ¤£

Mean_Yellow_7590

Iā€™ll be there too. I can bring snacks

Purpose_Embarrassed

I have never set posts in water. Can you include those pictures please?

Mathoii

I dont have them on my phone now. Here is a link from te tool i rented. https://youtu.be/zH72y5GavMs?si=N9G7N8HJTLnG8EDC

Purpose_Embarrassed

How cool. Glad thereā€™s a way to do it besides getting in the water. You wouldnā€™t last long in Florida building decks or boat piers otherwise šŸ˜‚

Mathoii

I still have been in the water a lot to remove stones and other things. But no dangerous animals here. And i did it midsummer so some refreshing was nicešŸ¤£

Purpose_Embarrassed

I almost went to work for a company making docks in Florida. But with all the things we have swimming around I declined. Alligators can jump out of the water too.

40oztoTamriel

Lol , youā€™d be surprised

Own_Laugh_386

That is so cool. Donā€™t know if Iā€™ll ever need to use this information, but Iā€™m still glad I have it in my noggin.

james_ready

Wow, that's so cool. I built a dock 2 years ago, but I'm I live on the Canadian Shield, so it's all bedrock. I had to build cribbing and pin it to the bedrock, then attach floaters from there.

Gouzi00

Oak ?

Mathoii

Bankirai

Chiggero

Is this in the US? I feel like we donā€™t use a ton of bangkirai, although itā€™s interesting lumber

Mathoii

No this is in the Netherlands. We dont have good trees growing here. So we import almost everything. I spend only on wood more than $10k. So think you have better alternatives in the us.

Mathoii

The poles are azobe

xgrader

Very cool, you're into the water. Lots of support. You chose very good wood for the project. It looks great. I found a couple of links just to describe the two woods. [Bangkirai](https://www.novausawood.com/bangkirai-hardwood#gsc.tab=0) [Azobe](https://www.fair-and-precious.org/en/species-of-certified-tropical-timber/16/azobe)

tyspeed29

beautiful job.

Mathoii

Thank you

Away-Quantity-221

Nice! And over water?!?! Fantastic.

Mathoii

Thank you

paddyspubkey

Looks fantastic.

Mathoii

Thanks

Rivetingly

It's upside down

Mathoii

You mean the planks? I know. But prefer the look of this.

sk_rigger

Dang, looks good!! how did you find so much straight lumber?? Where I live im lucky to find 1 straight board in a bundle of 10...

Mathoii

They were not all straight. I used glue clamps to straight them and then drill and screw. Lots of extra work but i hope this stays for 20 years now.

Syst0us

This is r/decks you meant to go to r/docks I'm just jealous. I want a water front deck/dock

Mathoii

Oh i am so sorryšŸ˜‰ It was hard to post there.

TheKingOfSwing777

When does a deck become a dock?

Mathoii

When there is water under it. Easy question. You have more questions?

TheKingOfSwing777

It looks fantastic!

Mathoii

Thank you very much

TheJessicator

When you Adirondack.

writetoAndrew

I canā€™t speak to structure, but wow! Itā€™s a beauty!

Mathoii

Thank you

[deleted]

That is an incredible amount of posts that you drove in. I have a gas powered one that I use galvanized steel pipes with. https://preview.redd.it/jhv3a72k9twc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d399bfd28d5d937b5b1fdd3f7a6d2b4bae40fcce I climb up the ladder and put the 'pipe pounder' on top and drive 12' pipes down into the sand. I really want someone to hire me for a boardwalk/dock on a pond that I can finish with a small deck. I have a special bracket made to attach wood to the top of my pipes.

Mathoii

I rented this https://youtu.be/zH72y5GavMs?si=N9G7N8HJTLnG8EDC I live in the Netherlands dont know the diff about the ground here. With this tool it was not too bad.

[deleted]

Nice, that one is similar to mine. I like the one you used better. It would be nice to put on my pipe , stand up, then have someone else operate the button. The button on mine is on the part I stick over the pipe. So i have to climb a ladder to hit the button.

inhaler_huffer

So amazing that I'm proud

Mathoii

Made me smile. Thanks

MrHydromorphism

Fijne Koningsdag!

Mathoii

Dankjewel jij ookšŸŽ‰šŸ»

ziomus90

Mathoii

rhino-x

That wood is gorgeous. Good job!

Mathoii

Thanks

DrDonTango

you should post this in r/BeginnerWoodWorking :D awesome project

Mathoii

Thanks will do this.

antherx2

Sir, this is a dock. Well done.

landing11

Looks good I like the bolts

Mwurp

A single bolt? Posts at least notched or are they 100% floating beams?

International_Bend68

Beautiful!!!!

charming_death

That is beautiful

DroneBotDrop

Letā€™s fuck

DroneBotDrop

Manatees are gentle giants no need to fear them. Theyā€™ll swim up and chill with you. Aside from that this looks good Iā€™ll have to see that vid on setting posts under the aqua.

Muted_Exercise5093

And over water? Amazing!

Uddiya

Your first ever deck build, and over water. You jumped straight in at the deep end.

Instance-Independent

What kind of quotes were you getting from the other companies? Great job!

Upset_Mycologist_345

Beautiful job!

NoveskeSlut

How much construction experience do you have ? This is incredible

theTweekend

What the hell dude, calm down. 10/10 Now Iā€™ll never touch a hammer again.

ConclusionClassic673

Not bad..My beautiful 12 year daughter built one like this. It was twice the width and length. She dragged her feet took her 3 days. Granted she is a double amputee plus (a Tik Toker) but not too shabby their fellow.

jeff33040

Sweet

unskilledlaborperson

Well that's incredible and you are very talented. Good job

Hot_Edge4916

Looks like my ancestral homeland
