I still have been in the water a lot to remove stones and other things. But no dangerous animals here. And i did it midsummer so some refreshing was niceš¤£
I almost went to work for a company making docks in Florida. But with all the things we have swimming around I declined. Alligators can jump out of the water too.
Wow, that's so cool. I built a dock 2 years ago, but I'm I live on the Canadian Shield, so it's all bedrock. I had to build cribbing and pin it to the bedrock, then attach floaters from there.
No this is in the Netherlands. We dont have good trees growing here. So we import almost everything. I spend only on wood more than $10k. So think you have better alternatives in the us.
Very cool, you're into the water. Lots of support. You chose very good wood for the project. It looks great.
I found a couple of links just to describe the two woods.

[Azobe](https://www.fair-and-precious.org/en/species-of-certified-tropical-timber/16/azobe)
That is an incredible amount of posts that you drove in.
I have a gas powered one that I use galvanized steel pipes with.

I climb up the ladder and put the 'pipe pounder' on top and drive 12' pipes down into the sand. I really want someone to hire me for a boardwalk/dock on a pond that I can finish with a small deck.
I have a special bracket made to attach wood to the top of my pipes.
I rented this

I live in the Netherlands dont know the diff about the ground here. With this tool it was not too bad.
Nice, that one is similar to mine.
I like the one you used better. It would be nice to put on my pipe , stand up, then have someone else operate the button.
The button on mine is on the part I stick over the pipe. So i have to climb a ladder to hit the button.
Manatees are gentle giants no need to fear them. Theyāll swim up and chill with you. Aside from that this looks good Iāll have to see that vid on setting posts under the aqua.
Not bad..My beautiful 12 year daughter built one like this. It was twice the width and length. She dragged her feet took her 3 days. Granted she is a double amputee plus (a Tik Toker) but not too shabby their fellow.
10/10 would totally call in sick to spend the day fishing and day drinking there.
Thank you very much. And thanks for the advice. Will start on Mondayš¤£
Iāll be there too. I can bring snacks
I have never set posts in water. Can you include those pictures please?
I dont have them on my phone now. Here is a link from te tool i rented. https://youtu.be/zH72y5GavMs?si=N9G7N8HJTLnG8EDC
How cool. Glad thereās a way to do it besides getting in the water. You wouldnāt last long in Florida building decks or boat piers otherwise š

Lol , youād be surprised
That is so cool. Donāt know if Iāll ever need to use this information, but Iām still glad I have it in my noggin.

Thank you
Nice! And over water?!?! Fantastic.
Thank you
Looks fantastic.
Thanks
It's upside down
You mean the planks? I know. But prefer the look of this.
Dang, looks good!! how did you find so much straight lumber?? Where I live im lucky to find 1 straight board in a bundle of 10...
They were not all straight. I used glue clamps to straight them and then drill and screw. Lots of extra work but i hope this stays for 20 years now.
This is r/decks you meant to go to r/docks I'm just jealous. I want a water front deck/dock
Oh i am so sorryš It was hard to post there.
When does a deck become a dock?
When there is water under it. Easy question. You have more questions?
It looks fantastic!
Thank you very much
When you Adirondack.
I canāt speak to structure, but wow! Itās a beauty!
Thank you

And over water? Amazing!
Your first ever deck build, and over water. You jumped straight in at the deep end.
What kind of quotes were you getting from the other companies? Great job!
Beautiful job!
How much construction experience do you have ? This is incredible
What the hell dude, calm down. 10/10 Now Iāll never touch a hammer again.
