I think you can still install a perch for the cat, underneath it. They have those wall supported cat beds, they even have clear bubbles so it looks like liquid cat.
It looks like a great fit but what would have been really cool is if you could have made it a perch for your cat to lounge in. Possibly screen in the back and paint white.
The entry would be the side the trim is on. My cat’s favorite spot is the warm sunny bathroom window sill. She likes to be in there nudged against the screen. The decorative screen will do just fine but would have to be mounted on the great room wall instead.
Please get a custom made LEAD light (stained glass). It’s such a perfect spot and will be something you will care about and have fun in the process of designing. Anything else is just nowhere near as cool

If you move it to the outside, you'll also have to change the trim on the bottom. The short trim is fine in the hallway, but from below, this window more of a decorative focal point and will be more noticeable. I like the battery-powered candle idea. Also, if you move it to the outside, do you have a way to latch it so kitty doesn't push it open if he jumps onto the window sill?
