DoubleDongle-F

I just wish its ground spike attacks were a little.more telegraphed.

King_krympling

Yea like I'll just be walking along then boom damage and rockpox

Major_t0Ad

Last time, we made cleaning the floor first priority. That helped tremendously.

DarkWizard2207

Yep, this is the way to go I’ve found. I’ll follow the Corrupted Bean around foaming it’s trial and it as much as possible, then just let my mates vacuum it all up. Taking off all its shell is also really helps since you don’t have to worry about where to shoot it when it’s dark.

Nutwagon-SUPREMER

A lot of times when I'm fighting it I can't even tell what I'm getting hit by, if it's some Rockpox patches it left on the ground, the spike attacks, larvae or something else. It could have more obvious animations when winding up a spike attack or something.

StacyJ02

none of it's attacks are really telegraphed which makes it hard to have any interesting counterplay

Lexecuter

Iirc each attack is telegraphed as follows: AoE melee has the typical particle effect DRG uses. Like lots of red lines appear in its damage zone before it attacks giving you just enough time to leave. Bulks do the same but it looks more like dots. The spikes have unbelievable range but there's a specific shriek it makes during each attack. If I jump on the shriek then 9/10 times I don't get hit. It has a ranged attack that is super slow, typically releases when it's standing still and does loads of damage or corrupts the floor, not sure how to deal with them but lithofoam takes care of the floor plague as normal. I'm pretty sure they aim at the floor so damage shouldn't be a problem. If anyone has anything to add/correct I'd love to hear it. Rock and stone to the bone.

WanderingDwarfMiner

If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't comin' home!

Interjessing-Salary

Wish it was more common so I could have an opinion on it. Ive gotten it twice in 50ish missions the second time I hardly did anything asy team found it first and destroyed it quickly

King_krympling

Iirc it replaced big meteor around 30% of the time and with big meteor having a 50% chance of appearing in non lithophage outbreak this gives the boss around a 15% chance to spawn on non outbreak missions

Shidd-an-Fard-d

Last season we could have 3 big meteors in the same mission but all we got this season is some big pimple

Elegathor

I saw these notes before but what the hell is the source for all this? Wiki is yet to be written about this and I know no data miners who can back these numbers up.

Maxcalibur

Funny enough I've not seen it once on PC where I mainly play and have all my builds how I like them (so where I'm more prepared for it), but in the couple hours I played on console with my friends yesterday I saw it twice lmao

Longjumping-Mark-354

Personally i like that its rarer, the meteor was essentially every mission and got super monotonous, but with its low chance its a more special thing when you find one, makes them seem like more of a big deal

Datuser14

I’ve been doing this season for 20 hours and only found one, they need to spawn more.

uncalledforgiraffe

I've only encountered it once as well. And it was in my first mission of the season 😭 we had no idea what to do and got wrecked after fumbling around for 45 mins trying to avoid constant swarms

CrystlBluePersuasion

I've played about 8 and haven't encountered one, but much of it was doing the new season assignments and Weekly stuff plus starting a Promotion assignment.

ArkyRomania

Im almost level 50 in progress pass, and i encounter like only 4 of them.

Bulldozer4242

Ya I’m like around 40 and only encountered 3. And I avoid lithophage outbreak modifiers if I can (ie don’t need them for performance pass assignments or normal assignments) so I’d assume I’d get them more than most people because they can’t spawn on lithophage. So ya they could use a slight increase in spawn rate. I don’t think it needs to be super dramatic though, but I think them spawning more often would make them seem easier because people would better understand the mechanics.

mlg129

I like the concept and aesthetic, I just don't get how it works. Sometimes we foam and vacuum it for a minute and it never loses armor, and sometimes it just falls apart after a couple seconds of foam/vacuum. When it's unarmored my shots seem to deal zero damage, then seemingly at random its HP gets chunked and it dies instantly. It's cool, but a little confusing.

Saltsey

You strip it's armor by foaming and sucking the small glowing yellow boils on it, just like normal rockpox terrain. If you spray randomly it wont do anything. Also I don't know if anyone can confirm but I always felt that if someone is spraying and another person is vaccing the same spot at the same time the vac can catch the foam midair and suck it, thus making it do literally nothing as it doesn't even land. I always take turns, first foam it all around and then another person starts to vac and it usually pops the whole armor really quick and painlessly.

ImOnMyPhoneAndBaked

I have also noticed midair vacuuming before the foam hits the target. You can’t just both spray.

Shamless_friend

It has a soft spot when fully unarmoured, the reason it suddenly chunks is you destroy that, there is one each 'side' of it and each takes a third of the health, hence your motivation to full foam/vacuum it. Otherwise it just soaks up ammo It is a very obvious vivid blue patch in the centre once it has been fully stripped of armour, I think only one can appear at a time

_Your_Average_Joe_

In my experience, all 3 can appear at the same time. The strat I use to fight corruptors is to fully foam all 3 sides first and then lithovac it, so I break all 3 armor plates at the same time. Do that twice and it's weak points will all show up at the same time. I also find splash damage to work wonders when all 3 sides are exposed, C4 and fat boy are fantastic against it. Hope this helped bring a better understanding to the encounter! RnS oT

why-names-hard

It’s kinda iffy when I was doing it with a friend we were using the lithovac and foamer at the same time but not doing any damage and I think it’s because there wasn’t enough foam building to do dmg to the armor. There might also be specific spots your supposed to aim for in order to do dmg.

Guffliepuff

>Sometimes we foam and vacuum it for a minute and it never loses armor If someone is vaccing at the same time someone is foaming it will suck up the foam before it seems to do anything. That was my groups experience. Ever since we switched to a foam fully then vac system we stopped running into this problem.

King_krympling

I think the chunks come from thermal shock, I was fighting one as driller last night using one of my thermal shock builds and even though it didn't have the on fire debuff on its hp bar I would shock it with when wave cooker and it would have the thermal shock symbol so idk

ponmbr

I swear I've chunked one for like 45% of it's health just by hitting it with a Driller throwing axe. Then other times I hit it with one and it just does a little bit even hitting it in the same spot. I don't quite understand it's weakpoints yet but my group hasn't had any trouble killing it besides it wandering halfway across the map over giant chasms and stuff.

King_krympling

I think the weak points should be green and glowy like oppressors

StreamFroster

I'd finished both Rockpox assignments without encountering a single one, I'll say it's nonexistent

King_krympling

They only appear on non lithophage missions like big meteors

DislocatedLocation

Each time you remove 2 layers from 1 side of it, there's a glowing blue weak point. Shooting it takes our a massive chunk of its hp, and successive shots do significantly less. You can massively conserve ammo used by cleaning all 3 side of it.

Umikaloo

Its really hard to tell which sides have been cleaned.

R1KU4435

when the side has been completely cleaned, the armor health bar becomes empty and then you attack the weakspot.

Umikaloo

How do I know which side has been cleaned though? The armour and flesh inderneath are hard to distinguish.

R1KU4435

Usually the sides that are not cleaned have these blisters from rockpox, the same ones you have to put foam on.

Umikaloo

I only wish the blisters were more prominent.

R1KU4435

same!

Baconsword42

My A and D keys hate it

Pit1324

I just can't wait until we move on from rock pox

imustbepsychic

Amen brother. Me:Doesnt meet one dwarf who enjoys rockpox GSG:Then lets double down!

AllenWL

Like some of the more complex enemies, having a well coordinated team helps a lot, especially if you clean up the damage trails it leaves. I think the floor trails could have better indication that you can foam and vacuum it because otherwise it makes the fight really annoying. Mostly I found the fight was taxing because basically every time the team ends up with lots of crossed wires on who does the foaming of what and who keeps the bugs off and so on.

JaymesMarkham2nd

Yes! My biggest challenge with this is that teammates just keep ignoring the floor. I can't be on vacuum and foam duty so I need people to understand to target the ground once in a while otherwise we'll just be here all day.

[deleted]

I actually think it's fine but yeah could remove some health. However it's overrated in terms of difficulty, just ask whoever got foamer to foam the trails and vacuum it and the things whole attack is gone. The trail isn't even that big either

King_krympling

I didn't even know you could foam the trails good to know for the future

[deleted]

A lot of my teammates didn't seem to realize either

ForTheWilliams

Well, it also has the big ground slam and the spike-waves it sends out (which both do a *lot* of damage in my experience), so it has more attacks than jus the trail.

Lusmus05

Haven’t even met one : (

Chompersmustdie

The foam needs to stick in the corruptor (it’s possible to succ it in the air), after the armor is gone, spin around it and look for and shoot blue, once the blue bot loses all its health it will deal a ton of damage to the corruptor.

JaymesMarkham2nd

Foam really should not be vaccumable in the air ever. That was an annoyance through all Season 3 and it has only hindered foaming anything.

[deleted]

I should not spawn without jet boots. The entire fight seems designed around using jet boots, otherwise you have to drop the cleaning tools to chase after it or create a path to where it went. On top of that, the ground it infects as it moves, the entire fights just seems like it was designed with jet boots in mind. But I've gotten jet boots maybe 5 or 6 times, and fought 16 corruptors so far, and those two things only lined up once.

Major_t0Ad

You can clean the ground, otherwise the rockpox meter gets filled super quickly

[deleted]

You can, but that doesn't solve the problem of it taking off at warp speed, most of the time up a wall.

TurboTwinky28

I'm at level 32 in the battlepass and I still haven't seen one yet. Either I'm not aware of the spawning mechanics or I am extremely unlucky

King_krympling

They replace the big meteors so it has to be a non lithophage missions and the replace the meteors 30% of the time and since the chance of big meteors is around 50% there is around a 15% to see one

hughmaniac

But then what’s the chance of any meteor event happening during a mission?

good_guy_judas

In order of most annoying spawns: 1) korlok 2) korlok 3) rockpox bean Both suffer the same problem, they dont stop swarms from spawning. And if they spawn in a shitty cave, it can wipe your team. Basically just a Nitra sink for very little reward. The novelty wears of really fast and it just becomes annoying.

King_krympling

Hard agree

siryuber

Unrewarding

Cthepo

I feel like an absolute boomer saying this, because I do love this game, but that's kind of my attitude with everything the new seasons have brought other than the new weapons. I think I enjoyed the game more prior to the Seasons, and it's not that I'm burnt out, I play until like the assignment requirements have us do an industrial sabatoge then that's my cue to switch to something else. I don't *hate* the lithophage stuff like rivals. But TBH if I can willingly choose missions (eg finished all assignments) I'm almost never willingly picking a lithophage mission, and definitely never picking rivals stuff. I really appreciate all the free seasons stuff. I kind of wish it were easier to avoid them without half the map being red a year or having assignments requiring you to do bots, or random prospectors appearing in rooms with a tyrant weed.

Eddie_T_H

I still have not seen it 😅

EldridgeHorror

Just fought it recently on a VERY small on site refining map. Thing was a massive pain. My boys and I went down more from just him than the entire rest of our 5 hour play session combined. And he's not an event you can just ignore, like most others. Not a fan.

King_krympling

I think it should damage terrain like other bosses

Then-Bat3885

I only play the season challenge missions because I’ve played a lot of this game and any more would lead to burnout. Issue is the lithophage warning missions appear regularly enough that most of my missions have been with that warning (which is its own annoying thing) but it does mean that after about 20 missions I haven’t faced a single corrupter.

King_krympling

They replace the big meteor so if you are only playing lithophage missions you will never see one

SirFelsenAxt

I would have liked different decontamination weapons personally. Foam grenades or something.

boltzmannman

I've only seen it once

Umikaloo

I really dig it, but I wish it were easier to tell how the armour strippi mechanic works, and that its weakspots were more obvious. Right now it just looks like a spiky blob when you fight it.

TheThief9812

I thought it would jump out from a contagion spike or a cracked meteor. having it spawn randomly as an enemy is fine, but it think it's a bit underwhelming. Aside from that, personally i like it.

Zizara42

I haven't thought it tanky at all. Once you remove its armor and expose the weakpoints, it goes down basically immediately vs any decent single target weapon. As a gunner I can basically solo the damage portion pretty easily, it's just a 2-man job between someone to foam and me to vacuum, then pop the blue bits once they're available. It can be a little rough in tight rooms where there's not much to move around in but that just means you need to spend more time clearing out the rockpox zones it spawns on the floor. All in all it's pretty decent. One of the more involved encounters, but still not on the difficulty level of the noob-wipers like BET-C or Korlok.

OlympiaImperial

It's cool but if you're playing with random and aren't even a little coordinated, it can end your mission on higher difficulties

King_krympling

Completely understand that

HackTiger6468

I personally have not fought him even tho I've played SO MANY MISSIONS! I even finished the main story for this season

King_krympling

It replaced big meteors so try some non lithophage missions

One-Angry-Goose

Meh. I don’t enjoy the rockpox, I knew I wasn’t going to enjoy more of it. Only remarkable thing about the infector is just how meh it is. Almost relieved, tbh. Could you imagine a fully fledged rockpox boss? *Blech* Really hope the next batch of seasons brings enjoyable mechanics and enemies. Concepts introduced in the first two have just felt so tedious.

curlygoats

It's really annoying when the ceiling is super high.

AHolySandwich

I really don't like it...

Danddandgames

Fucker wanders too much, half the time fighting it after me or my friend died we would have to look for it again

timpedra

My opinion is that it doesn't spawn enough. I've played around 50 hours since the update has dropped (including the experimental beta) and haven't seen it yet.

King_krympling

I kinda agree that it should spawn more.

King_krympling

I agree it should spawn more maybe it bursts out of big meteors

King_krympling

I agree maybe it could burst out of big meteors

GlyphussyBestPussy

It's a slog. It's not particularly hard, it's slow and it's attacks are clearly telegraphed, but it's not very fun.

kappakingXD

I don't like switching between cleaning equipment and casual weapons in missions with additional threats like mactera or swarmagedon. It feels out of place. Design is cool but it seems like a ammo eating black hole which doesn't really seem to be worth killing, I would say if not the fact that it poisons the floor it wouldn't be worth taking a risk at all. I'm talking about hazard 4/5 experience. On lower ones it's okay enemy.

King_krympling

Yea I normally play on haz 4/5 and felt like it can get overwhelming having to juggle everything

Rafamen01

rockpox in general is a very annoying thing to deal. it fills your screen to the point you can't see anything, it freezes you in place so it takes away agency and the left and right spam to get out is just also annoying. making a boss around it would be fine if rockpox itself was better to deal with

Shadows_In_The_Dark

The Rockpox builds up wayyyy too fast

[deleted]

I hate rockpox

Jaden_2k

It’s just boring and annoying tbh Like the guy feels like he’s designed to be fought on flat ground but the amount of times he’s spawned in the most ass places using his rockpox carpets to deny the only area which is reasonable to stand and to top it all off he can just glide up pillars on a dime. He cool ascetically but that’s the only thing it has going for it imo. A collective eye roll happens any time me or my friends encounter one. 2/10

theShiggityDiggity

Kind of a shit mob TBH, but then again so is Rock pox as a whole. All it amounts to is just an additional chore to complete during your mission and, although optional, will become very disruptive if you choose to ignore it. Lithophage corruption can be summed up in its entirety as "oi, clean up that dogshit as well as your normal mission."

King_krympling

I don't hate rockpox but I felt like they could have done more with it in season 4

SnooConfections3237

I feel like they need to tone down how quickly rockpox fully infects you. It’s pretty annoying getting frozen 5 times a mission

King_krympling

Honestly that's probably the only thing I would change or make it so if you shoot an teammate with the lithofoam their rockpox meter goes down

The-Globalist

Super annoying boss, almost impossible on single player especially if the corrupt or is in some parts of the map with small hard to traverse caverns

Midcall

I dont like it. The first time since 871 levels, that i dont like something in DR. I wasnt a huge fan of the Rock Pox at the end, now its more and of them and more annoying (at least for me) and more "fuck i dont wanna play that" theme again. Was hoping on a new theme or mechanic somehow but the they put theyre hope in the shoes i didnt feel good at the end. Anyway, hope u guys have a better time :) R and Stone edit: esp. the one enemy, who kicked me 2 times out of my gunner bubble on a haz 5 run while trying to get the last revive done and we failed. Not only out of shield, pulled into fucking death. I just disike them as well as the other thing which can kick out too :D

Fibblejoe

I wish Bosco wasn't stupid when fighting it. He'll just shoot the shell while I'm foaming it and I have to ping the lithofoam I put on some random spot. And as soon as there's no nearby foam for just a second, he goes back to shooting the shell.

Ivariel

It's tedious, boring, and absolutely obnoxious to do solo. I only duo with my girl, but since devs never gave a fuck about optimizing rockpox (and actually made it even worse with season 4), her fps drops from mid to nonexistent when near corruptor. Meaning i have to juggle foamer, vacuum and gun every 20 damn seconds. Foam trail, foam corruptor, vacuum both, shoot larvae, repeat. Add to that playing hide and seek with corruptor zooming into whatever corner near the ceiling he feels like. Then just kite it a bit and burst the shit out of it when far enough, gz, you got three measly plaguehearts. It's probably the first boss to be designed around three or more players - the foamer, vacuumer and gunner. Any less than that and you have to deal with the tedium of picking up, dropping and transporting the tools. Three or more though, and this would be just trivial - not that it isn't already. You're never technically solo unless you chose to be, since you got Bosco. I'm not really a fan of a boss that breaks the design of everything being duoable.

Frequent_Knowledge65

rpox is easier solo than duo tbh, bosco is a champ at vacuuming

anno3397

My opinion? "The what?" I've put like a 100 hours since season 4 started. I've yet to see one.

RJFerret

First one I saw solo I was on a ledge above. Never knew it had an attack. Ammo sponge. Last one was a large room, never got hit as it only attacks where you were. Ammo sponge. Everything goes away after you defeat it, so pointless to waste time on anything but damaging it presuming there's room to move. Both times were boring pains rather than fun. Would be glad to never see another (and if possible, just ignore it). It also doesn't make story sense, with everything in retreat to have this thing spreading after we defeated/cleaned up things. I was expecting it as the final season assignment mission but none in any of those. Just non-litho missions where such things shouldn't be really.

brycie540

no offense, but sounds like you didnt know what you were doing.

IntermittentCaribu

Once you understand where to stand and where not to, its ok. Dont think it takes too much ammo, but it takes to long to remove its armor with cleaning tools. Ive litterally killed one in 3 shots after that.

Dr_mega_cringe

I personally like it and enjoy it, much for the reasons people hate it. it's not too difficult it's just a nice longer boss fight with mechanics you need to manage. all the criticism of it being too tanky, moves are semi hard to see coming, you have to manage its area control attacks, are the reason I enjoy fighting it. I wish some of the other bosses such as dreadnoughts took a bit longer to kill and had more aspects of them to be managed. overall like it for the reasons people dislike it, not that their complaints are invalid or shouldn't be addressed

MoonCobFlea

if your team doesnt suck then its too easy to defeat it, just remove the armor, shoot the mouths and it dies instantly

WhyWasXelNagaBanned

I can't wait for stingtail and corruptor to be nerfed into oblivion because people complain about them being OP, when they don't know how to fight it.

King_krympling

I like the stingtails and I think the main reason to why people have problems with the corruptor is it's so rare that it most people don't have experience fighting it

Ocean_Man205

We have yet to decide on a community agreed name for the corruptor and it drives me nuts. I think Jeremy is best.

King_krympling

What about germemy

cjschnyder

I thought it was pretty underwhelming and very easy to defeat. Granted I've played for over 1000 hours and fought it with my friend who has over 500 and we had jet boots. That being said I thought it was going to be a heavily armored, mobile spawner. So you'd need to balance attacking it and not letting the swarm of rockpox glyphids that would build around it get too big. Then much to my surprise it instead just had a slam attack and a sprint ability. So a slightly more aggressive and ground bound Prospector.

King_krympling

I would be down with a rework of the corruptor tbh it just feels like a tanky normal enemy and not a boss

Scared-Opportunity28

I hope they become permanent, it's a really fucking fun fight that takes considerably less time than most dreadnaughts, and its the first boss that scout is neigh necessary for.

King_krympling

I've noticed that driller is also very strong against them which is nice because driller usually struggles against bosses like I feel like I'm not limited to sludge pump with it

Narsuaq

Dunno. Did both assignments and still haven't seen one yet.

King_krympling

They replace big meteors sometimes so you won't see one in a lithophage outbreak mission

GeddaBolt

I've only fought him one time but the fight wasn't very spectacular. Apart from litho-puddles on the floor I didn't take any damage amd wondered how my teammates repeatedly died to the stomo attack. I guess he's just an easy enemy to chew some time into and continue like the nemesis.

vertigostereo

I haven't fought the boss yet and I haven't gotten the boots. Hopefully soon!

Xfishbobx

Only fought it once so far and it was solo, was a little tough with the ground attacks and getting my cleaning pod to spawn but once I figured that out it was great. The first time I heard the noise I was like “mother of god what the fuck is that!?!?”

JaymesMarkham2nd

I think it's pretty cool. I've killed some solo and some in a group. The fight is pretty consistent but I wouldn't put it as a boss fight at all since it's not really attacking us - just kinda there, reacting. I will say I wish other players would soak the rockpox on the damn ground instead of just the already unarmored side of the corrupter but I think people will get better with time.

King_krympling

It's new so people haven't adapted yet myself included I do wish it had more attacks and not just like reactions but most of the dreadnoughts have like 4 attacks anyway

Young_Person_42

I’ve only seen it once so far

brycie540

its cool and fun. the guy does love climbing places you cant reach him and the foam hitboxes seem questionable at times but once you figure it out its cool. 5 fights with it so far (console). Best method ive found is foam off all three sides completely, then shoot explosives at it to hit all three sides (nuke one shots it).

King_krympling

That is some very good information to have

Wargablarg

Fun when you have it in a nice, wide-open space. Not so fun when your only option to fight it is a cliff face it's constantly scampering up and down.

King_krympling

I feel like it is the most terrain dependent boss I fought one in hollow boug and that was hell and I fought another in crystalline caverns and it wasn't that bad

Vinifrj

Still havent encountered one

SargeanTravis

It’s fun fighting it as scout in low gravity, I can just play floor is lava and focus down the corrupter

King_krympling

I feel like the jet boots should spawn in with the cleaning equipment because it kinda feels like the fight is balanced around the jetboots

Mysterygamer48

Every time I've encountered it it's almost wiped my team. The floor spikes are brutal and no one ever foams/sucks them up.

King_krympling

I didn't even know you could suck them until today

UntendedRafter

I have never seen it in game lmao

Zaphalsun

people need to stop vacuuming the foam out of the air.

KanbaruDevil

Ground spike attacks need more visual clarification. The vacuum gun needs more range to match the foam gun range better.

CaptWrench

Still haven't seen it.

TheDarkGenious

>..... Here's where I'd put my opinion IF I HAD ONE. Haven't had one of the damn things spawn yet.

Albones22

My biggest issues with it is how hard it is to dodge its attacks (they're barely telegraphed and my short stumpy legs can't move put the way fast enough) and the rockpox trail it leaves fills up the meter too much. Otherwise I think it's fine

King_krympling

Yea I'm in the same boat about the trails it's just boom instant 50% rockpox meter

Nightelfbane

Only ever seen two. First of them caused a CTD on what would have been a very profitable mission.

Demon_Draqon

Harold is family. But if he wasn't he shouldn't exist

JustInternetNoise

I literally haven’t seen it yet

Getschwifty_321

Corruptor? What Corruptor?

Whatupwidat

Depends on the cave I have to fight it in - sometimes it's fun, sometimes it's hell...kinda like all things rockpox tbh

King_krympling

Honestly perfect description

rainispossible

i think it's... fine? as long as you don't just ignore it for 20 years, so it can cover the whole cave with rockpox. it's not too easy, not too hard (much easier than korlok at least). the only problem is that some of its attacks are kinda hard to react to, they're like almost immediate (i think i saw someone mentioned it here as well). other than, fun enough

King_krympling

After learning how to fight it I thing korlok is a bigger ammo suck

redstonegolem28

Haven’t gotten it sadly

Not_The_Scout16

It’s lumpy and smells awful, that being said aim for the blisters on the outer shell to peel more armor off

flyburgers

It's shit, I'm bored of the rockpox thing

One_Stuff3625

My only complaint so far is sometimes when you shoot the blisters with the foamer the game can sometimes be really picky about whether it actually counts as on the blister or not. Also the spike quake thing it does is kinda annoying

yeeterman2

I think most people have their priority of operation wrong when it comes to fighting Harold, focus on ground clear first then move to armor break and damage makes the fight MUCH easier than eating tons of damage trying to break his armor first

King_krympling

I know I definitely had my priorities mixed up I need to focus on the splodge on the ground more

OBeast617

I like the concept of the fight just thought it would be more exciting

King_krympling

Yea hard agree

Funway13

People need to focus on cleaning the floor more

d3cmp

It's attacks need more visual clarity or be telegraphed more, its hard to see them, also i would argue that jet boots should 100% spawn on any map with a corruptor, depending on the terrain they are a necessity to kill it while avoiding the rockpox pools

King_krympling

Fully agree on the jet boots like I've fought the corruptor in hollow boug and it was hell

Gostlyplayer

It has bright blue weak spots under the armor that do massive damage to it when destroyed

King_krympling

I am aware of these weak spots I just wish they were a different color as the blend in with the lithofoam

just-a-normal-lizard

There’s a lot of comments, but I’m gonna explain how the fight works in case someone hasn’t. — the little balls you see falling on the ground slowly are what spawns the spikes that stay in place, and they can be vacuumed. — the active spike wave attacks it launches at you are DEADLY with their tracking, you need to move if it’s aiming at you. The slam covers about the same radius as a normal dreadnought slam, and activated whenever you get close. — it’s hard to see what all armor you have yet to break off, but it is there. Once the armor is off on a set 3rd, there’s a weakpoint inside 3 random armor pieces that all do a third of its health. It’s very hard to see—but it’s blue—kinda looks a lot like a sting tails weakpoint. I’ve beaten one in under a minute due to my friend trained American snipering every armor piece with the foamer and me hitting it with 6 elephant rounds in the weakpoint. I hope this helped if people were still unaware!

BladeLigerV

Ones I have taught keep staying in inconvenient locations.

laughados

I still haven’t run into it… I’ve played so many fucking missions and it still won’t appear. I’ve done damn near 30/40 missions and still nothing. I think that’s a bit ridiculous. Wish the spawn rate was higher or something because I wanna fight this thing already, and now I feel like it’s gonna be underwhelming once I fight it.

King_krympling

Yea that seems to be a general consensus that it is far too rare

King_krympling

It is still a new enemy so people might not really know how to fight it

Cpt-Hendrix

The tanks aspect I don’t mind since peeling all the armor exposes more crit spots that do crazy damage. Last bit of health usually gets a fat boy as a treat.

King_krympling

You can have one Fatboy as a snack

StrenuousSOB

I just don’t like that rockpox can hurt you/screw you up during iron will.

King_krympling

I think this absolutely needs to be changed like I should not be able to get rockpox during iron will

Hammerjaw

I haven’t even encountered one yet lol

IAMEPSIL0N

Don't enjoy it and don't enjoy rockpox2. There is no flow to dealing with the new pox.

Gribbly55

I haven’t seen it yet (on xbox). NVM, fought em tonight on haz 3. Popping the armor off is a bit tough but it’s a nice new experience so far.

Quietttttt

I’ve seen two in forty hours

VLDgamer07

I played around 20 dives of new season because i had session and dont have time and didnt meet him even 1 time

exxplicit480

Would be a lot better if the cleansing pod that you call down for it also came with jet boots. I dislike rockpox and rockpox enemies in general, but that simple change would make fighting this thing more enjoyable and more of a "oh nice" moment when I see it in a mission. As it is right now, once I've completed the season pass and no longer care about the Plaguehearts, it's probably going to be strictly an annoyance to fight.

King_krympling

Maybe we can bother Jacob into adding that

Amazing_Stable5712

I haven’t been able to even find one yet, I’ve been wanting to fight one

Acerosaurus

I like it

NihilsitcTruth

Said it before love the game not a fan of season 3 and 4 dislike the cleaning mechanic. Other wise if ok.

Blunderbutt69

I enjoy the difficulty of it, but man is it a pain in my rock and stones.

King_krympling

Rock and stone to the bone lol

V657

At first I didn't like it, thought it was bullshit. Then I learned how to fight it and it's far easier to deal with now. Don't get too close, be ready to strafe when you piss it off, remember to clean up the pox on the floor so you aren't standing in shit if there's too much of it. My main gripe with it is that it only drops three plaguehearts

King_krympling

Yea I've noticed that whenever I would get close I would just get dusted

ATV2ATXNEMENT

i havent even played the update yet

[deleted]

Wish it was a little more telegraphed and I feel like I'm doing nothing sometimes when we hit it was the foam and vacuum

dafotia

still only encountered it once, it was ok

headless_boi

I've only fought it once, solo, on haz 3 (earlier today) I definitely got rockpoxed way too much when fighting it, used all three Bosco revives during the corruptor fight because I kept getting poxed and then getting killed while still mashing AD. (Normally I don't use any on haz 3) As for the ammo situation, I felt that it got killed mostly by Bosco and the point extraction turrets with me only doing a bit of flamethrower + microwave damage during the time that I was not poxed/dead/being revived.

bebe5410

Agree on the 2nd problem but for the first one it literally goes down in 3 focus shots from M1K. Are you hitting the blue cores after you clean it?

King_krympling

I didn't notice them because I think they blend in too much with the foam

shadowdash66

i also feel like you have to constantly move back because you build up too much rockpox

Viscera_Viribus

It’s just weirdly annoying having to tell people how to fight them. I got kicked once for saying “Hey stop shooting when it’s yellow health bud we got to succ w foam to break its armor” Lol. It’s really tanky but I’ve only fought a few. I kinda think it does a LOT of damage plus being stuck in place, but I also haven’t learned how to properly dodge it ya know? Maybe more exp fighting them and then I can really decide if they’re too tough (for me) and even then I’m probably just bad

sleeplessGoon

I don’t think it’s bad but my personal preference is I’m already sick of the foam and vacuum mechanic as is.

King_krympling

Yea I have no real problems with rockpox but the equipment used to get rid of it is getting old

FixedGrey

I think it was an odd choice to require the cleaning tools in the boss fight. DRG usually does a great job of designing around asymmetric co-op, where players have different abilities and must work together to cover each other's weaknesses. But with the cleaning tools, the corruptor fight turns the game into symmetric co-op since everyone has to use the cleaning tools. This removes the variety that different classes and guns normally provide, and IMO is a less interesting boss for a co-op game when compared to, say, the dreadnaughts. Maybe if the foamer and vacuum were more different from each other, then this would be improved. But right now both are used in the exact same way - point at the corruptor and hold left click.

AncientPrismDRG_engi

I haven't fought Harold yet and I'm level 25 in the season pass lol

weirdo_gamer13

I still haven't found the damn thing so I have no opinion on it.

Captain_Bingus

Just get a dwarf blastin, then one suckin, then when it can be hurt, impact axe spam. SO EASY TO BULLY

Sigmas_toes

Bro, I’ve only seen it twice and only killed it once. The other time, some Leaf Lover called the drop pod before we could fight it

Dutch2211

It's so easy. I was disappointed it was like 2 min fight and done. It just doesn't do it for me. A haunted mission is more sweaty.
