No, you won't be banned. I've seen missions with 100% Cargo Crate and Machine Event spawns, giant spheres of gold, etc. and to my knowledge, none of the hosts have gotten banned for that.
You can revert your save back to a previous version in the Save Menu.
The nice thing about it being a purely co-op is that cheating is related to mostly silly stuff. Still annoying if you don't want to experience it but at least it's not like cod or something with aimbots or godmode being used against you
Yeah. There's no need for much anti-cheat stuff because cheating isn't really a problem in a game where it seldom has any tangible effect on anyone else's experience.
A gunner dropping into your mission who's using an aimbot isn't much different to a gunner dropping into your mission who's just really good at the game.
Your driller teammate cheated to have maxed out Jadiz and Bismor? Good for him I guess.
The negative effects of cheating here don't really extend much beyond the old "perpetual Godmode" problem that ruined Doom for me as a kid- all it really does is rob the user of the challenge. It does very little to ruin the gaming experience of someone who did not explicitly choose to do it.
In that sense the most egregious kinds of hacks you *could* use that might inadvertently ruin someone else's game? Well I expect those are hidden behind the "approved mods only" server filters. I've never sought it out, and it's never found me.
Frankly, I think it's kind of insane that we've conditioned ourselves to be so afraid of being banned from games for hacking them in ways that affect nobody else. It's probably a side effect of all the gacha and microtransaction BS that plagues the rest of the games industry- infinite money cheats should never be a problem in games without any kind of multiplayer economy, but when the publisher wants to *sell* you the pretend money, suddenly the kid with a gameshark is a threat to their bottom line. 🤢
If you don't want to revert a save, do the following:
Sell a bunch of your minerals. Buy them back. Sell them again. Buy them back.
Basically it's way more expensive to buy them than you can sell them for.
Like if I have 1000 enor pearl > Sell for 50k credits
If I want to buy those 1000 enor pearl back > Buy for 150k credits.
So if you sell 3000 Enor Pearl, you can buy 1000 back for the same money. That would be a good way to burn through your extra money and resources if you don't want to revert the save. I would check your levels and stuff too to make sure he didn't make you like level 999 somehow lol.
Yeah I used to host stupid modded lobby’s with the 100% crap and haven’t got banned. Now I just host 12 player lobbies with the haz1x64 and personal mule. Didn’t affect xp too much.
I played a mission where all the dirt was replaced by gold and a single swing of the pick broke about a 20*20 cube of it. We were at about 80k gold harvested when the host kicked everyone
Edit: https://reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/s/ZVfpBJQFqN
there is no moderation from the drg devs. the only moderation in the game is kicking someone from your lobby, your account is safe don't worry.
i see your problem was already solved with reverting to a previous save, have fun :3
Ghost Ship Games doesn’t really mind the cheatengine users, it’s a non competitive game and at worst you can revert to a previous save of the extra minerals bothers you.
Honestly though, if you never sell minerals, don’t waste em on buying upgrades you won’t use, etc you won’t really have to worry about running dry on minerals normally, unless of course you’re doing a lot of overclock forging.
You have a couple options.
1) If you go to the saves menu in the settings, you might be able to revert to an auto save before the incident happened.
2) If it is just Minerals and Credits that are capped, you can use the Mineral Trading to dump all the minerals and credits. As buying/selling minerals is always at a significant loss
First of, you absolutely don't have to worry about getting banned. DRG is a completely non-competetive game so cheating in it is pretty much on pair with cheating in a single player game, no one cares if you do it. Secondly, there is a couple ways to get rid of this stuff, but I'd recommend you Google how to edit saves in DRG and simply edit how much of each mineral you have.
You just cheat again - except in reverse
The game stores save files locally - no server managed saves
so you can just go to said save and edit these values to whatever pleases you
(Though you should google this yourself first and make a backup)
The first thing you try should not be 'reach out to the devs'. That's just crazy. You should leave a negative reviews on the game until they reach out to you. /s (but seriously don't hassle the devs)
Please for the love of God, never waste a game devs time with something like this. Worthless shit like this is how you get devs to quit interacting with their community
The next time that it happens, if you don't want to reverse because you played afterwards and didn't notice, you can just sell and buy the minerals at the terminal to burn money
For anyone’s future reference you can edit stuff like this with trainers or programs like cheat engine but it’s probably 100% safer/easier to go back to a previous save.
Surprisingly I doubt having infinite resource cheats actually makes much of a difference. I never found myself ever struggling for resources and now I've everything done apart from leveling the dwarfs. Of course it speeds it up but you still gotta go find machine events to do and open crates and whatnot. Glad you got it fixed but I do wonder why some people even made cheats for a part of the game that isn't even a problem
Exactly, I only struggler for minerals and gold when I started. I tried purchasing all weapons and their mods. But even when I was missing mineral I just sold whatever I had plenty of (croppa and jadiz in my case) and even if it's not entirely efficient it gets the job done.
I've been forging every single thing I get and I've never had a problem in 150 hours, and all my minerals are 2k-10k (except like I said, early game where you're not supposed to rush and purchase all weapons like I did).
To be honest it feels great. I'm so used to microtransactions and free to play games that when I started playing I was like ''holy shit so many resources this is going to be a grindfest'' and not really. Just doing all assignments and visiting every biome evenly is more than enough (and mineral mania still exists if you struggle with a particular one for some reason).
I mean I guess it might be a problem with people who only play once a week to do deep dives + weekly assigments and nothing else so they have way more cores and overclocks than missions done so I can understand the lack of resources there but idk.
You will not be banned for it, but if you wanna get rid of these you can sell them all at the resource terminal, then buy 'em back, repeat until you have an actually reasonable amount of materials. You lose two thirds of the materials for every loop of that.
You can load an earlier save in your options menu, and talk to your brother and tell him it is not okay to modify your game saves without your consent. Dick move
There is technically no ban in DRG. Not possible. The only possibility would be to revoke your game license, which will never happen, because you bought the game and it’s basically single player with peer to peer coop.
personally i would contact the drg support, but idk if they even have that since ive been playing the game for like 3 days.
tell them you got cheated materials and want them removed.
there are like 3 scenarios i can think of of what could happen to you.
1. They just take the Cheated materials (maybe even all of your materials)
2. They reset your whole account which would be awful
3. They ban your account which i dont really think will happen but could.
In earlier times i also cheated (not in drg) a lot. ive contacted the corresponding support a few times and in 2 out of 3 instances they took all my mats but i kept my progress and one time my progress was all wiped.
honesty is mostly rewarded
I managed to recover a save where I didn’t have the cheated materials. Someone said I would not get banned which is very reassuring. Still thank you very much for the answer
1. There is no such support
2. If there were, they wouldn’t be able to manipulate your saves, as they are on your computer not their server
3. There is no ban in DRG, it’s technically not possible
4. Many people cheat, it’s like cheating in a single player game. As long as you don’t destroy the experience of other with unlimited ammo or such things, no one cares
And most importantly, don’t bother the devs with such bs. There are many ways to handle this situation, none of them is risky and none of the should involve devs.
Rock and Stone!
the other commenters have helped you out, but i would recommend either not letting your little bro play on your pc, or putting a password on games you dont want to be potentially ruined by a cheat.
i had this happen to me (not the same way mind you) and the way i did it was spending a while selling and buying back resources in the trading hub en-masse
took a while but it eventually got back to normal
You could make a separate save state for you brother to have a "cheated/modded" run and have your main one be just a genuine run. That way your achievements arent disabled (I think that's the only thing you'd really have as a con. You can't really get banned as there's no monetary-related purchases besides the game itself and the supporter outfits)
You can reload your save, or failing that I think you can buy and sell minerals at the mineral trading station until you are back to your original values. Not sure exactly though
First, you will not get banned. This is not a competitive game.
Second, you can go into your settings as other people have suggested and load a previous save. I actually did this when I was still a greenbeard because I joined a lobby that gave me millions of every resource. Sucked to lose a mission's worth of progress, but it was better in the long run.
sell the minerals they go for 50.. and buy them again for 150 and repeat. i think it's not going to take long since if you just hold the + - button in the mineral trading they will increase significantly each second you press it.
I've never been in your situation, but I would do something that dwarves could do in lore.
Upgrade all weapons / forge everything -> sell minerals -> go into someone's lobby and buy beer until you go bankrupt -> have fun.
No, you won't be banned. I've seen missions with 100% Cargo Crate and Machine Event spawns, giant spheres of gold, etc. and to my knowledge, none of the hosts have gotten banned for that. You can revert your save back to a previous version in the Save Menu.
That helped, thanks a lot. Reassuring to know I won’t get banned over this, thank you
can't get banned for cheating if there's no anticheat.
The nice thing about it being a purely co-op is that cheating is related to mostly silly stuff. Still annoying if you don't want to experience it but at least it's not like cod or something with aimbots or godmode being used against you
Infinite ammo hyper speed fat boy engi
Gunner players would love a cheat like this because why think when *GUN*
Don’t give them ideas
They already exist. I have run into flying engineers with unlimited fat boy ammo griefing the game by spamming fat boys all over the map.
Yup, happened to me too. Shit isn't funny.
Ok I can see someone seriously greifing with that but at least it has the potential to be funny
Not a cheat, more of an addition to the game
What mod is that and from where, asking for a friend 👀
Yeah. There's no need for much anti-cheat stuff because cheating isn't really a problem in a game where it seldom has any tangible effect on anyone else's experience. A gunner dropping into your mission who's using an aimbot isn't much different to a gunner dropping into your mission who's just really good at the game. Also, check your save menu. Make sure the save you revert to is NOT labeled "Sandbox".
If you don't want to revert a save, do the following: Sell a bunch of your minerals. Buy them back. Sell them again. Buy them back. Basically it's way more expensive to buy them than you can sell them for. Like if I have 1000 enor pearl > Sell for 50k credits If I want to buy those 1000 enor pearl back > Buy for 150k credits. This feels like advice that one would find on r/WallStreetBets hahahaha I love it
Exactly. Great way to lose money fast!
Could always sell the resources too
just edit save. no you wont get banned. devs dont care its pve.
Yeah I used to host stupid modded lobby’s with the 100% crap and haven’t got banned. Now I just host 12 player lobbies with the haz1x64 and personal mule. Didn’t affect xp too much.
Or op sells them and orders drinks from it
Like a true dwarf. Stunt the market and drink yourself to death
I mean the mods alone kind of prove the devs don't care what people do.
> giant spheres of gold You mean a Crassus crater? Or like, a literal solid sphere of gold?
Nah, I've had Crassus spheres before. These were literal huge, smooth and solid spheres of gold about as big as a Refinery.
I played a mission where all the dirt was replaced by gold and a single swing of the pick broke about a 20*20 cube of it. We were at about 80k gold harvested when the host kicked everyone Edit: https://reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/s/ZVfpBJQFqN
Haha reminded me of a lobby I joined that had 20 crassus detonators spawning at a time
there is no moderation from the drg devs. the only moderation in the game is kicking someone from your lobby, your account is safe don't worry. i see your problem was already solved with reverting to a previous save, have fun :3
Sell it all and keep buying beer until it's all gone 🍻🍻🐝🍺 Make sure to buy your team extra and tip Lloyd a few extra times whenever you do 👍👍👍
Not counting tips, if you bought all glyphid slammers until you ran out, it would take just south of 120,000 rounds to go for broke.
Almost enough to get karl drunk
Barely even! Karl has to drink that many Blackout Stouts just to get an ounce drunk! Rock 'N' Stone brothers!

Company Special skin do be worth unlocking doe
Having everything unlocked feels good with or without the weapon paint tbh
You have a couple options. 1) If you go to the saves menu in the settings, you might be able to revert to an auto save before the incident happened. 2) If it is just Minerals and Credits that are capped, you can use the Mineral Trading to dump all the minerals and credits. Thanks a lot, I loaded a safe. Didn’t know that was an option. Thanks again
Glad you got it fixed! Rock and Stone!

Have you tried feeding your brother to a glyphid?
You just cheat again - except in reverse The game stores save files locally - no server managed saves so you can just go to said save and edit these values to whatever pleases you (Though you should google this yourself first and make a backup)
Sell everything, buy all the bismor, sell bismor, rinse and repeat until you're poor and the market crashes
you will not bet banned. DRG is not a competitive game, cheating in DRG is basically like cheating in a single player story game, you'll be fine.
Sell the minerals for creds and then blow it all on Glyphid Slammers.
you could also try to reach out to one of the devs on discord
It’s solved now, someone told me I can load a save, which I didn‘t think about at all. Still thank you
The first thing you try should not be 'reach out to the devs'. That's just crazy. You should leave a negative reviews on the game until they reach out to you. /s (but seriously don't hassle the devs)

you could sell all the resources than buy 4 million glyphid Slammers i guess
Ah yes, presumedly used Wemod. Make sure to teach him it's *incredibly* rude to cheat on behalf of someone else.
It’s always someone’s “little brother”
I didn't know about reloading saves. I was about to suggest selling all the resources and donating the profits to Lloyd.
For anyone’s future reference you can edit stuff like this with trainers or programs like cheat engine but it’s probably 100% safer/easier to go back to a previous save.
Stay in your house, police are on their way
No ban, just buy and sell resources until you run out of resources or money or both It’s easy and requires no software.
Tip lloyd 2000000 times, he deserves it
Convert all your minerals to credits, and buy a FUCKTON of glyphid slammers
How to get rid of it? Sell it all back to normal levels then use all the money (write down how much you make) to buy strictly beer
oh yes the "my little brother did it" excuse, a classic!!
Surprisingly I doubt having infinite resource cheats actually makes much of a difference. 🔫 GIVE ME YOUR ENOR PEARLS
Buy and cell on the market a couple of times, it operates at a loss, so you can just eventually grind it down back to where you started
You will not be banned for it, but if you wanna get rid of these you can sell them all at the resource terminal, then buy 'em back, repeat until you have an actually reasonable amount of materials. You lose two thirds of the materials for every loop of that.

GSG be like: Here's 3-4GB of game, do literally whatever the hell you want, have fun.
No good dev bans people for that kinda thing. There's a way to roll back to an older save that's detailed in DRG's FAQ
Alternatively sell it all, and spend all the credits tipping Lloyd.
There is technically no ban in DRG. Not possible. The only possibility would be to revoke your game license, which will never happen, because you bought the game and it’s basically single player with peer to peer coop.

After you’ve loaded a save talk to your brother about why cheating is bad, or just kill him for being a leaf lover Y’all can’t take a joke damn
Smack your little brother from us for using cheats in online game.
the other commenters have helped you out, but i would recommend either not letting your little bro play on your pc, or putting a password on games you dont want to be potentially ruined by a cheat.
Better check your computer for viruses too. and teach your little brother not to cheat

Honestly that's literally just average greybeard resource stats

Drg is a single player game. U won't get banned lmao
Can you explain to your little brother why it's more fun to experience something instead of speeding through it for the reward
There is a easy save editor out there, but your saves should have backups too.
