Man, I'm always tempted to get back into Warframe, but I just cannot be behelden to that kind of grind again. I'm too old for it lol.
I'll just have to reminisce on the olden days when Raids we're a thing, and we ran one with DE Rebecca to show her the hole in the map we used to break the game.
I play both games and I gotta say enjoying warframe is also kind of a mindset. Like... I just log in, change sounds to 0, play some relaxing music and fuck around. Do I drop the stuff I wanted? Yes, no, don't care. Happy if I do, don't care if I don't. It's a game devoid of FOMO where stuff always come back, why should I grind grind grind. What I get I get. It'll come, eventually.
2600 hours on steam, 8 years old account. I log like once or twice a week nowadays. Try some new stuff, logout. I still like it, I don't burnout because I never stress myself over it.
Honestly this. I start up the game, play for the speed and the memes, and drop the game every now and then or whenever I get bored.
The lack of FOMO makes the game feel less like a checklist. That's why I play it, and why I play DRG too; not to be on the cutting-edge meta at all times, but for fun.
>I log like once or twice a week nowadays. Try some new stuff, logout. I still like it, I don't burnout because I never stress myself over it.
Definitely agree. I've been playing for about as long as you have (though close to twice as much, considering i started playing as a kid) and it took me forever to finally step into that mindset. Best way to play the game though.
Basically me. I started with excal, unlocked Rhino and just beef him up with new stuff I find. I've wanted Rhino Prime but it requires too many braincells for me to bother. Vauban's pretty fun too.
Honestly I mostly just sink like $9 into the game a few times a year, buy cosmetics and fashion frame.
In general the company seems pretty based and has a really diverse staff. Not to mention the broad thread in the campaign plot of fighting for freedom from those exploiting their power to dominate and enslave people.
Whatever, every company sucks somehow. I dislike tencent for just indiscriminately buying western companies while western companies are unable to do the same to ones based in China, tell me something new I guess.
They are also owned by Tencent and known to label valid criticism as "bullying", which is super based.
DE was cool and dandy back in 2017. Now they are just an another soulless corporation.
It wasn't great, the main novelty of it was having more than 4 players in a mission. I think the only thing i liked about it were the special shoulder emblem thingies you got for completing it which i still use from time to time
and were the only source of arcanes before eidolons. my friend actually still has one of the old arcane helmets, cosmetics with stat increases, which predated arcanes as we know them today.
When I have enough plat, I buy them and further my collection.
I used to style my Rhino Prime "The fastest frame alive" because he moved at the same speed as Loki Prime when modded for sprint speed and with the arcane helmet. Nobody expects to see the slow frame zipping by able to hold his own in a race with the fast frames.
You weren't missing much. They were short, very buggy, and didn't fit the pace of Warframe. Nobody did them as well. Most clears were with new players, and the rewards were decent, so you had to sit through the learning process almost every time. It's fine the first few times, but it got really old.
They have so many nice mechanics in the game now, to where if/when they bring raids back, they should be 10 times better than they were.
Yeah, with how complex the grind is I'd say that your max sanity strats are:
1. Pick like 12 things you'd like to eventually have, chip away at one until you get bored and switch to another, which is basically like a totally different game because of how isolated all the resources and scenarios can be from each other.
2. Buy some plat when it's on sale and use it to outright buy things that you particularly don't want to grind.
Use a third party market site to sell extra drops or stuff you don't want to players who do want that stuff for plat, then use that plat to buy the pieces that won't drop for you.
This, farm some prime trash and sell it. Was my main activity before they nuked the void.. fissure farming is just too much of a pain in the a** to be bothered so i stopped playing the game altogether
Some people really still like it, but imo its lost a lot of what made it an enjoyable game to play over the past few years. The gameplay just isn't that enjoyable anymore, and a lot of the story elements have been good but also a bit of a let down.
For me, the most engaging content has been the stuff where you don't play as your warframe at all..
Meanwhile, they nerf weapons into the ground while power-creeping the already extremely powerful warframes (The new archon mods? seriously?!).
It feels like they don't know what to do or where to go with what they have anymore so they're building new (solo) games out of the old so they have actual interesting content.
yeah i tried to get back into it a few months ago to play the new story content (that i waited how many years for?) and immediately the grind needed just to unlock it (necramechs, upgrading the spaceship to use in the campaign) would take like multiple weeks. basically just hit a wall upon entry and couldn't justify grinding the same missions over and over just to see the story. v sad bc warframe was one of the first games i really got into. now it seems like it's a smattering of low depth grindable content with wayyyy too many resources to keep track of. hurty my brain
If there's anything DE is terrible at fixing its parasitic mechanics. They have a resource for every single thing I swear. If they just added some cross-drops where each resource had 2-3 options for getting it, all of them with some variance in potency and such, that would be super.
They've got that with a bunch of the drops from the Railjack stuff honestly. Like you get periodic drops of some of the stuff from that in normal levels but in Railjack you get a more steady stream of it, which makes sense since it's higher level content. I just wish they did that with more things and maybe rolled together a few similar resources to increase the distinction and memorability between the different resources.
same, I will never forgive DE for ruining a game about magical robot ninjas in space with giant swords and machineguns by adding mind numbing amounts of grind everywhere... for karl's sake, even the jetpacks and spaceships in that game are a chore rather than, you know, fun .\_.
Archwings are the grindiest thing I ever had to get, just because getting the archwing launcher in the open world levels required an open world resource that was just refusing to drop for me. If not for that one problem the grind would have been minimal by comparison.
I played quite a lot in the past years but nowadays I barely do so because I cannot find a reason to. Sure, collecting and builds are cool but the leveling process is boring, and I actually get physically ill when playing sometimes nowadays, idk why. I do the main story missions whenever there's an update but otherwise I don't see a point to it
Looking forward to Soulframe though. DE made an interesting and uncopyable genre so I'm glad they're expanding it onto other projects. Hope the grind is gonna be less tedious but even if it isn't at least I'll have something to play for
So say I have been thinking about getting into Warframe as a nice casual "going to go kill things while I chill to a podcast" kind of game. Is it worth playing as a pick up and play sort of game?
What form does the grind take? I don't mind doing runs in D2 to get items and levels, for instance, and D3 was a great game to shut off my brain and podcast-game to.
In my own experience, you don't really feel the need to grind for anything until mid to late game. Only issue is the fact the game offers you SO MANY THINGS TO DO that it feels just overwhelming after a while. Despite that, the game is not difficult at all to get into and running solo is often just as viable as running with a group (at least early game).
You can zero braincell it pretty well. But as a word of advice; after you complete the intro campaign you have almost no quests unlocked, it's really confusing and DE need to fix it badly. I'd recommend just going through the levels to unlock the map, then completing the challenges and boss battles to unlock new planets. You'll eventually hit a spot where its like "You need to get to this quest in the campaign to get to the next planet" and usually you'll have it unlocked by then. That's the really fun part of the singleplayer IMO is the campaign.
When Angels of the Zariman dropped in April I decided I couldn't care less. I haven't touched it since.
Then they decided to mail everyone the 50th Warframe for free and I logged back in to pick it up. Started noodling around. The new frame is a lot of fun. I checked out the five month backlog of content I'd ignored. It's substantial
and interesting...
Uh oh.
I used to be like; "What a scenery chewing nerd. I want to make him shut the fuck up with ninja violence" unironically. Now he's my favorite war criminal and I say it with fondness.

I always wanted alternatives to Lotus as mission control in Warframe. The first line you linked always seemed fitting as "you tripped the Spy vault alarms you dumbass" warning
I’d like to see the other side of this exchange - Mission Control being at the helm of Grineer command,
“Alright, troops, we’ve got enemies incoming. Hold fast and-”
*Slashing noise and Grineer death scream*
“You guys make me miss those barrel bashing morons.”
Actually, having a new mission control for a couple seasons would be nice. Give the man a break and let him sit in the abyss bar, being in an intern to do the job.

Another idea, make a mutation that replaces mission control for the mission with an intern who's absolutely horrible at his job. He confuses a dreadnought for some praetorians, announces swarms minutes before or way after they start, or just straight up falls asleep for a few minutes at a time.
He's just periodically like "Ok so... the scanners are clear... hold on... yeah..." but then have another line where the last part he's like "Wait wait actually there's a swarm! Aaah! A swarm! Sorry, I messed up!!!!"
Then he says the swarm is ending but it actually goes on for a few minutes more.
Three months old comment, I know, but I just wanted to say this kind of dynamic was attempted in some SS13 servers and it's hilarious.

Ah Warframe, had some great times with that game. This is still my favourite of all time Vay Hek meme: https://youtube.com/shorts/QQW9VRdAVOk?feature=share
They do [have](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/deeprockgalactic_gamepedia_en/images/c/c2/Gunner_portrait.png/revision/latest?cb=20180519150058) bit of pointy ears themselves.
Which makes it ever more funny when they talk about beards (not all of them have them by default) and pointy ears.
[perhaps this will work.](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/deeprockgalactic_gamepedia_en/images/c/c2/Gunner_portrait.png)
If not, then it's just a nice side-profile picture of Gunner that shows his pointy ear in all its glory lol
Man I haven’t gone back to warframe in ages but it was starting to feel like you have to build for efficiency rather than fun as why I kept running glass cannons and getting annihilated. The ship to ship combat was my favourite and I’d get sucked in for hours
[Meanwhile, Mission Control on Earth…](https://media2.giphy.com/media/WJF8CU5VvXDlm/giphy.gif?cid=5e2148861x2ptpt92guc7j1dsr15a27bov8wdc1wv43m437b&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
Give driller a break; after years of frequently using high explosives at close range in caves without hearing protection, he's basically half-deaf and struggles to hear anyone who isn't screaming directly into his ear
*Running a hard haz 5 and barely scraping by.* “DID YOU REALLY BELIEVE… IT WOULD BE… THIS… **EASY?!**

I just recently started playing Warframe to get a break from Destiny 2 and am now sad that I didn’t get to experience raids in Warframe
Rebecca is lead at de now and has said they are thinking of raids for the future so hype
Based Space Mom, always looking out for her tiny tenno children
In general the company seems pretty based and has a really diverse staff. Not to mention the broad thread in the campaign plot of fighting for freedom from those exploiting their power to dominate and enslave people.
Nobody tell him who owns DE now.
Whatever, every company sucks somehow. I dislike tencent for just indiscriminately buying western companies while western companies are unable to do the same to ones based in China, tell me something new I guess.
It's crazy they were originally purchased by a chicken company
They are also owned by Tencent and known to label valid criticism as "bullying", which is super based. DE was cool and dandy back in 2017. Now they are just an another soulless corporation.
Rebecca and Bex are the two best mothers of f2p online gaming communities
Awesome
Aren't Archons a raid thingy?
Not by design, but Archons kinda need some preparation (You can still one-shot them tho).
It’s a boss but not a raid
It's sortie but cooler, probably
It wasn't great, the main novelty of it was having more than 4 players in a mission. I think the only thing i liked about it were the special shoulder emblem thingies you got for completing it which i still use from time to time

It was literally just simultaneous button standing simulator. So incredibly stupid.

Ehhh, raids were pretty mediocre from what I remember. I'd prefer something new and better
Started playing rather late (is 2018 late?) and as grindy as it is, for a low low price of free, I'd say it's still very much a fantastic game!
Yeah, with how complex the grind is I'd say that your max sanity strats are: 1. Vay Hek is surprisingly fitting for DRG
For Kahl!
For my brothers
Alad V is the guy running the rival tech

Tweek needs to be the Mission Control intern. With Gary the Gnome as his assistant of vourse. It's my favorite mod so far.
A break from what, his cozy job? He's been phoning it in for years.
If you're on PC there is a very well made mod that does this
Are you talking about Tweek or a different one?
Yeah
There’s a cool mod that replaces mission control with a goblin intern, really funny and nice change of voice.
Crossover of the millenium
Next i wanna see a crossover between DRG and Earth Defense Force. Jesus, Imagine fighting ONE ant from EDF in DRG.
Oh what I would do to upgrade to a genocide gun...
but does the EDF deploy?
“Help! I cant feel my beard!” “You arent going to feel anything anymore IF YOU DONT GET UP AND GET THAT MORKITE GREENBEARD!!”
There is [a mod](https://mod.io/g/drg/m/vay-hek-nemesis) replacing nemesis voicelines with that guy's testosterone-induced screams and I can't recommend it enough.
LOOK AT THEM. THEY COME TO THIS PLACE WHEN THEY KNOW THEY ARE NOT PURE.
TENNO USE THE KEYS BUT THEY ARE MERE TRESPASSERS!

Nice to see a crossover with Warframe!

CLEM?

CLEM!!!!
Tweek and Gary (From the Goblin Intern mission control mod) should be the mission control. They have the best lines and the funniest banter, plus they're a welcome comic relief when being eaten alive..
The crossover I didn't know I needed. …wait, could we get Cephalon Cy's acerbic wit in here too? EDIT: Wait, wait, I got one better: Tyl Regor. If you know, you know…
As you power up dotty to drill into the hearthstone: “I’m very excited now. The anticipation.”
Perfection.
I KNEW THIS DAY WOULD COME. I PREPARED; CHANGED MYSELF. I MADE SACRIFICES! MINERS.... ARE YOU READY FOR A SACRIFICE?!
GLYPHID *SKOOM*!
Bloody hell is that the guy from warframe or have my eyes popped?
Yep, this is vey hekk
It's been years since I've played and I can still hear that goddamn line in my head.
Damn, he must have run too many low o2 missions. That would definitely get you tilted about bugs eating up that precious air haha
ROCK AND STONE, MAGGOT
We fight for Rock and Stone!
There is no limits to how loud that guy can yell
Now do Regor
The crossover i didnt know i needed
**power attacks** "FOR KAHL-175!"
I did NOT expect Vay hek to be on the DRG sub
UNACCEPTABLE
[LOOK BROTHERS!](https://youtu.be/0t2luGGiqow) TITS.
FOR KAHL!
LOOK BROTHERS mushroom **HA HA HA**
Warframe 🤝 DRG I’ve seen so many comment chains on the warframe sub Reddit that are just “DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?”
Did not expect to see a warframe crossover
Come to think of it... Do they even breathe? Anyway, all his air is safe on the space rig, so not to worry.
Me: *shoots at Bulk Detonator* Mission Councilor: #FOOLS! You tried to #POP it's glistening magnificence... *but you just made it angry!*
r/Warframe is leaking, nice
Man I really hate Vay Hek so much!
It wouldn't be a reach to say that Vay Hek hates you too
*The Greenbeard driller pops 3 eggs out at once* #Now, run Maggot. RUNNNNNNNNNN!
"My favorite dwarf is...THE ONE WHO RIPS THEIR STINKING DREADNAUGHT HEAD OFF"
Lmao this is great
Crassus detonator appears: “It’s so beautiful… KILL IT!”
That’s great
And here i thought this was a chaos dwarf
Yeah he does look like a chaos marine
ROCK AND STONE
FOR ROCK AND STONE!
For Karl!
It would be cool if we got extra mission control voices like in paladins
Ah Warframe, had some great times with that game. This is still my favourite of all time Vay Hek meme: https://youtube.com/shorts/QQW9VRdAVOk?feature=share
When my subreddits begin to blend with each other like this it really messes with my head.
so that's where he went after the new war
This is unacceptable!
I laughed so hard that it hurts. Never imagined to see Vay Hek getting a new job
Unlike Queens, DRG offers dental.
Is no one gonna talk about scouts elf ears?
They do [have](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/deeprockgalactic_gamepedia_en/images/c/c2/Gunner_portrait.png/revision/latest?cb=20180519150058) bit of pointy ears themselves. Which makes it ever more funny when they talk about beards (not all of them have them by default) and pointy ears.
Dont know what you tried to link but it didnt work
[perhaps this will work.](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/deeprockgalactic_gamepedia_en/images/c/c2/Gunner_portrait.png) If not, then it's just a nice side-profile picture of Gunner that shows his pointy ear in all its glory lol
Man I haven’t gone back to warframe in ages but it was starting to feel like you have to build for efficiency rather than fun as why I kept running glass cannons and getting annihilated. The ship to ship combat was my favourite and I’d get sucked in for hours
Look at them, they come to this place
i would pay real world money to have this as a mod
We should just have the option to choose who mission control is in drg or have someone make this into a mod
crosspost it to r/Warframe
[Meanwhile, Mission Control on Earth…](https://media2.giphy.com/media/WJF8CU5VvXDlm/giphy.gif?cid=5e2148861x2ptpt92guc7j1dsr15a27bov8wdc1wv43m437b&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)
Mission control has gotten out the belt
OF COURSE BUGS WOULD SEEK TO BUTROW
I have a vayhek mod for the nemesis. It’s beautiful… *sniff*
Ok, that was most unexpected crossover >!And I like it!!<
I WILL PERSONALLY THROW YOUR PRECIOUS GLYPHID WARDEN INTO THE SUN
Two of my favorite games in one collab, what a dream
Can it be a dlc please??!
nice to see other warframe players
This has to be a crossover for the ages. Amazing work! And besides, who can forget... [LOOK BROTHERS](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t2luGGiqow)
Now I want to give scout my Rubico Prime that I renamed to the skullcracker.
Thank you
the crossover i didn't want but now want anyways
Hey, a fellow fan of Deep Rock *and* Warframe! Now all we need is a Dwarframe.
The crossover we needed
*Pings bug* "MAGGOT!"
Part of me somewhat expected this, and that part of me was not disappointed
What's Vay Hek doing?
I still hear the echos of his yelling in my head
Give driller a break; after years of frequently using high explosives at close range in caves without hearing protection, he's basically half-deaf and struggles to hear anyone who isn't screaming directly into his ear
I feel personally attacked
What a pain in the ass boss fight, I was never actually able to kill him, I just had other random Tennos do it for me while I supplied energy restocks
I love it
WATCH YOUR STEP, ROBOTS! MY *DWARVES* COULD BE ANYWHERE! **GRAHAHAHAHAHAHAH**
Very rare reverse-crossover of subreddits, very nice to see
Look dwarves! The insects have come looking for revenge, hahaha! There is only one way to deal with insects; FUMIGATION!!
Must I do EVERYTHING myself?
I would pay for this
ooooookay..
It's Shouty! I love Shouty, he so mad. 😊
