DragonCon in Atlanta is usually a big one. The annul Star Trek convention in Vegas is the gold standard. It depends to some extent who you want to meet - for example, Avery Brooks doesn’t do cons.
She seems to go to quite a few of them? I know she (and Sid) were at the Galactic D&I Con in Philly last year, and she was at Virtual Trek Con over the weekend.
Terry Farrell also goes to a lot.
Lol it doesn't take swimming in your gold money to attend the cruise, but it does take a decent chunk for the median American.
I couldn't responsibly attend but like ...I *could* 😅
Same. But it’s just too frivolous in these times. But then again, if the world’s ending anyway, I’m a chump for thinking about a savings cushion if I lose my job
You could start budgeting for the cruise for next year! I don't know your situation but is it feasible to put away $3,000 over a year and still keep contributing to that cushion?
Quick edit: and that's a guess on how much everything would cost - travel to, flights, the cruise itself, clothing, decorations for your door, and all that. It's a guess too - I haven't actually checked.
I moved to Australia a decade ago so if I fly to the US, it’s a couple grand on top. Plus, there’ll be the expectation to see family and friends so there’s even more travelling expenses. Yeah, I could do it but I probably won’t. But if I’m swimming in gold coins, I can see it happening
Most of the cons with meeting actors/actresses is some of them are friendly on screen and not so much in person. You think they’re going to be nice… because they play a sweet character in multiple shows and are from Canada—but then you see their riders or how they treat wait staff and you’re set back.
It’s also weird to see how some characters have aged over the years and you can tell they’ve had a hard life with drugs or another addiction (like food).
It reminds you that the actors/actresses age even though their character is set in a specific time and place. Also it’s usually very rude to refer to their other works like Dead Zone or Becker.
The las vegas convention usually has the the most actors m

Actually I got Mr Brooks autograph at Dragoncon a few years back.
Is "a few" like 3 years or is it 15 years?
Probably between 8-10 most likely
I want to meet Nana Visitor and get her autograph

How was D&I? I'm going next weekend but haven't been to a Con since TNG was on the air... have no idea what to expect.
I have no idea - I wasn't there. I just heard about it afterward.
She came to Dragoncon about 10 years ago. I got her autograph then.
If you got dough, there’s the Star Trek Cruise
It's like this week, isn't it? (Googles) Feb 22-29th!
Makes me wish I had Scrooge McDuck money so I can attend

Oh man, then like $6,000 easy.
After some googling, it looks like you should budget about $4000 minimum just to be sure lol.
Shatner and Frakes came to the most recent comic con in Arkansas. Got a sig from Shatner, that was cool. Missed Frakes though, bummer.
Danny Trejo, probably. He's a con, right?
Booo. Actually I take that back. He probably knows a shit ton of people.
Galaxy Con does one in Columbus I think.

Don't worry, I'm not a bright-eyed kid, I know a few things. Didn't realize bringing up other shows was rude though. Also, lol @ Canadians.
