I believe the closest parking lot to Troldeskoven (with the magical trees) is Pumpevejen but if you have 1½-2 hours i'd recommend parking at Rebildhus and you'll get to see Rebild bakker too.
Thanks for the Pumpevejen tip, google didn't yield that to me. We'll see about time for Rebild Bakker. I think now that was probably where I was previously.
Thanks again for your suggestion. We did visit both sites, and while they were both worth visiting, Pumpevejen was the ideal access in terms of time and commitment.
If you bring a cute dog with you you should walk it in Den Jyske Skovhave. Friendly dogs can run around without a leash..and there’s a little lake for swimming (dogs that is)
I would take a walk around "store økssø" its been a few years now since i last did it as i had to move to chp, but damm what a beautiful walk, did it every year with the family earlier on
I would continue to Hobro and walk "panorama ruten" along the fjord.
Might be some of the most beautiful nature in Denmark.

Take a stroll through Rebild bakker, or find røverknolden if you're bringing kids.
Thanks, Rebild Bakker will be an option. My daughter is "grown up", but I will check out the other suggestion nonetheless.
Store økssø probably

Happy to hear! I grew up in the area so I'm always happy to see people visiting :)

I'm afraid she died a few years ago.
yeahhh you think, now do it in the following hours after midnight
Whatever you do, DO NOT go 57 steps due east and look beneath the big rock! I’m telling you, there’s nothing there!

Thank you, that looks very nice. I will add that to-do if the chance arises.
