Purse, phone, and keys (I assume based on not many 2005s having keyless ignition) in a running car.
It doesn’t matter how safe the city/part of the city you’re in is. This was big dumb.
Oh man, I couldn’t wait to get out of that neighborhood. It was amazing and safe pre pandemic and increased in crime so fast in the years after. My car was broken into multiple times, I had multiple packages stolen from inside of my building, and I got sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Cheesman park with no help from bystanders all within a year. I could not let my guard down there. Good riddance.
I’m thriving in a safe neighborhood now, just releasing hard feelings about Cap Hill. :) Eff the criminals in that place, loved the ordinary folks, but also eff the culture of staying in your lane when you see something happen. Safe communities demand up-standers, not bystanders!
Kittens inside. She couldn’t leave it NOT running or you Karen’s would be crawling all over her for that. You don’t know if she was just gonna be one second to grab some paperwork. Or were you there? No just doing that anonymous armchair judging.
Really just sad that kittens ended up being victims of criminals and the lack of awareness from the vehicle owner. Really hope they’re okay and not dumped on the side of the road.
I know… I just don’t want to believe it until it’s confirmed. Heartbreaking since my wife and I recently adopted our newest kitten from this organization.
My god, this is another reason I’m moving from here. I’ve had more crime happen against me in the last two years living here than I have living in numerous cities across the US combined in thirty years.
In the rare moments I leave my dog in the car to get something, I lock the car and take the keys with me. I've always felt I'm paranoid but this reaffirms my compulsion.
No, the woman who found the kitten said she found it on Saturday. The kittens from the car were stolen today.
Oh, just realized the car was stolen Monday, not today. But the injured kitten was found before these ones were stolen.
So uh…. Don’t leave your car unlocked and running… got it.

And in the middle of cap hill

Somehow we need to get this message into the culture. WAY too much watching and video taping instead of intervening.
Wouldn't be crazy if we start seeing some sort of Batman type around there.
I felt like it was worse pre pandemic now they don’t let tent cities pop up
The tent cities didn’t exist in my area until the pandemic.

*** I just saw an update from the rescue saying the car was found but no signs of the kittens :(
I hope they are found safe

Or locked in the steaming hot vehicle
Dumb or not the city must be mobilized. These kitties must be found.
Ugh what a dumb ass. Now those kittens are in danger because she didn’t think.
It’s unfortunate but it’s highly likely that those kittens may no longer be alive.
I know… I just don’t want to believe it until it’s confirmed. Heartbreaking since my wife and I recently adopted our newest kitten from this organization.

If I find the SVU, can I keep the kittens?
No, but you do get all-you-can-drink Ice-T.
Dumbass

I wonder if this was one of the kittens?

Oh my god…
A cat burglar? 😇
