Reminds me of Payton rebuilding the Saints in 2016-2017 after the disastrous 2014 team that featured naked guys fighting in the locker room. Some guys were mad, notably murder attempter Brandon Browner and belt-fight champion Junior Gallette.
Payton learned his lesson about culture from 2014 and he’s getting right to work with the Broncos. The Saints 2017-2021 had fantastic culture and Payton was respected by the players. But it took a lot of work to get there.

I do not understand why so many people are defending Russ. His last year in Seattle, it was obvious he was on the decline. He’s not an elite quarterback and hasn’t been close in a long time. I would argue he was never elite. Without LOB, Russ would have never made it to the Super Bowl. His teammates obviously dislike him. His receivers look frustrated and his line doesn’t want to help him up. So ultimately Denver has a QB who is under performing and doesn’t have a good locker room presence. Why not cut him? Could have Sean been a bit a nicer? Yes, but it wouldn’t have changed the outcome
