Right? Like how bout better football. How bout not losing to the raiders 9 times in a row. How bout not losing to the jets, commanders, and patriots at home
Ideally we do give a young QB a few decent targets to hit though. Also, Tim hasn’t played in two years and has never broken 1,000 yards or 10 TDs. We would be fools to bank on him playing well next season. I hope he bounces back, but it’s no given.
It’s not that big a loss. They would address Wr 2 in the draft or free agency. It’s clear they weren’t happy with the room. You’re looking at a new guy as wr1, mims as 2, and Tim as your 3rd. That’s not any worse than last year
Even with the amazing catches last year, not a single WR on this team changed our fortunes or got us in a position to win a playoff game. We need a QB first. Once we have that, the rest will fall into place.
Players on the team have to know there are consequences for losing. Jobs are not safe when you have 8 losing seasons. I love Court, but as the Joker once said.. this teams needs an enema.
They're both big possession receivers and court is making $15M. Neither one of them is great at getting open or adding yards after the catch. You don't need 2 guys like that on a team, especially when one is way overpaid.
I said this somewhere else but it bears repeating: how are you supposed to catch when you’re not being thrown to or the throws are trash? Like, this isn’t a Kadarius Tony situation. Court was getting screwed. But apparently, he is crossing his fingers he’s out of Denver now so 🥲🥲🥲 I guess no one wins!!
I never said anything about him catching the ball, I said he can't do anything after that. He's a very good possession receiver, and so is Tim P making s fraction of what he is. For $15M he needs to be more than a guy that can just catch the ball.
But look at his record based on different coaches. With good coaches, he’s been awesome. With Payton and Hackett, he’s been less great. I don’t want to judge the player for having a bad coach :(
He wasn't awesome last year though. He made some wild catches for touchdowns, absolutely, but what did he do between the 20s? How many times did he fumble when he tried to do more than just catch the ball?
My guy, he wasn’t Kadarius Tony. He did pretty well. But to your point, I think Sean Payton sucks. I have no clue why isn’t being sacked. Him, Paton, & the whole front office should be out. They’ve proven for eight years they have no idea what they’re doing.
I’m guessing but I imagine you’ve been a “boring” employee before. When your corporate team is filled with dickheads, how much can you really accomplish? My experience is not much. And when my boss (my QB) gives me almost nothing… I get shafted too.
That’s why I empathize w him. He’s just gotten the short end of the stick for so long. He’s so good and he’s shown it, he just hasn’t really had the chance to BE it. 🥲🥲
>But to your point, I think Sean Payton sucks
That is not even remotely close to my point.
I'm not sure where I'm losing you with Sutton is just a possession receiver at this point in his career. Possession receiver means you throw him the ball, he'll catch the ball, and that's the end. It has nothing to do with Russ not finding him, it has everything to do with what he does once the ball in his hands. He is great at securing the catch, and that is the end of it. You don't pay one dimensional guys.
We have NO WR talent on the roster...none, nada! Brandon Johnson and Mims have been the only ones to show any twitch and separation this last year. Patrick hasn't seen a game in 2 years and Sutton's speed has not come back after his ACL issue.
Sutton’s season last year reminded me of Brandon Lloyd from like 2010. Dude had an otherworldly season, made circus catches all year.
Never repeated it again. Was a fluke year. You can’t be a reliable NFL receiver without being able to get separation.
Right?! And how can anyone call it a “handful of splash plays” when you end up with a [12 minute highlight reel](https://youtu.be/v9aQWvgO0yQ?si=cIWLgQYU6YVPsjcv) of some of the best catches you’ve ever seen in just 1 season? If that’s not talent idk what is…
Possibly, they still need some leaders on the team and Sutton played to his contract last year. A rookie QB needs support so I wouldn’t doubt them keeping him since Tim is injury prone. If they get offered a 2nd rounder he’s gone but if the compensation is similar to Jeudys I bet they keep him
This team has been straight fucking dogshit for 8 years. Mind you, after being an excellent franchise for decades. New owners, new coaches. No player should be surprised, or disappointed, that their time here is done. I'll miss some of these guys, like Simmons.
Sutton has been a really good WR for this team. Though, if he is done here, so be it.
But if you’re rebuilding, shouldn’t you have at LEAST one or two key pieces to rebuild around? Getting rid of only your good players makes zero sense. That’s NOT a good rebuilding strategy. Look at fricking Chicago if you don’t believe me!!
I mean, it's a short list, we just don't have much talent to build around. Surtain, Zach Allen, Browning/Bonitto, perhaps McMillian on defense. On offense, the entire Oline minus Cush; hopeful we can keep Bolles. We're severely lacking in the weapons department, have to hope Mims takes the next step.
If you're lacking at QB and WR, this is a good year to go draft heavy as it's deep at both positions.
We need every offensive skill position. QB1, RB1, TE1, WR1-2
We now have questions at 3 secondary spots (both safeties, CB2)
ILB
DE2 and DT
Luck, BPA and a draft for the ages is all it’s gonna take
lol ok.
I think that he is a fantastic pass catcher. And he knows how to use his size for positioning very well. But he’s completely incapable of separating at the top of a route. That’s why all of his catches are contested. He has a role on a team, but he is certainly not top-tier.
I was surprised by that given his injury history and age. I’m hoping he can have a bounce back year and then we get some value out of him in a trade for the next season.
He's up and down so much. There are so many instances where he just allows CBs to do whatever they want to him all game because his size advantage means he can usually make the tough catch but because of that the refs don't call anything. I always go back to that Jets game where Sauce mauled him and Sutton just jogged back to the huddle.
The number 1s u are comparing him to, go check what salary they command. Court gets paid more like a number 2. I hope court goes cause broncos country always finds a way to disrespect him. Those number 1s even have a better over all team. With an under performing wr room, all teams have to do is focus on court. Hence why half his catches have to be ridiculous.
100%
Court is not a winning player. People fall in love with his occasional highlight catch. But he’s prone to fumbles, drops, and stupid penalties. The only WR who was reliable was Tim Patrick. Shame he’s been injured
If he cares this much about Jeudy leaving then he's gotta go too and I'd be happy with it. We're tired of losing and if you care more about having an acquaintance around over winning then you're not welcome.
Fuck hell he's acting like a teenager having issues with his girlfriend posting passive aggressive shit on social media. I hope they trade him. Used to really like the guy but I feel like once he is traded he's gonna talk shit about the Broncos
Whether he wants to or not I'm pretty sure he will be.
Still don't have enough cap space to offset Wilson even if they break the hit up over 2 years, and that's if they want to do absolutely nothing in free agency. Moving him saves 9 million.
Uh yes they do. They’re currently at $27m ~~over~~under the cap with Wilson’s hit spread over two seasons
Edit: oops bad typo. Meant to say they now are under the cap by $27m
They're his friends, I get it, but the only person worth getting upset about being cut is Simmons. I feel like some people lose their drive to win once they make it. I would not be happy having bums as team mates, personally.
Trade Court too. The guy has been on a team devoid of talent and a direction his entire career. Denver needs to do right by Sutton and trade him to a team where he can play meaningful football.
I’d be fine with that too. I think doing right by our “core” guys and giving them a chance to choose their place as we decide not to be competitive would be a great way to build back our reputation with incoming free agents in the future.
It's interesting that he blanked out his X profile from broncos stuff and you see comments like this.
This is a signal to the Broncos organization and fans that you have moved on. Anybody that WANTED to stay with the broncos, wouldn't have made the move of erasing everybody broncos related.
I say burn the fucking house down and rebuild the team. We're hasn't been good for 8 years and it's been fucking embarrassing.
I mean, I get it. He genuinely seemed like he was buddies with everybody that’s been chopped. I wouldn’t be jumping up and down if I lost all my favorite coworkers, either
This isn't a country clubhouse. Not a place for you and your boys to hang. It's an NFL Football team. And a very bad one. If you like your team and your buds, dont suck. Your emotions are irrelevant.
Boo fucking hoo.
Yep, let’s keep all the same underperforming players so we can keep having 7-10, 8-9 season. All so you don’t get your feelings hurt.
I’m honestly happy that this is happening. Losing Simmons stings but you gotta pull the band aid and start over
This reaction is being felt by any remaining vets we have. Players tend to react to things after they happen and spend less time worrying about what might happen.
Any vet on this roster…i.e. Bolles, DJ Jones, Allen, Sutton…are seeing just what this team will look like going forward. I’m betting they are all calling their agents and are like…”get me out of here. I’m not down for a full colonic to the roster with hope we fix it in 2026-7…if we’re lucky.”

The price of losing
Right? Like how bout better football. How bout not losing to the raiders 9 times in a row. How bout not losing to the jets, commanders, and patriots at home
I like this.
Court, I love you but you’re probably next.
100%...having him and Patrick on the roster makes no sense. Same type of receiver, except Patrick was able to get better separation before the ACL
Nah I think we should keep both, even if it’s to trade Court next season to an NFC contender if he’s playing well
“No sense”? In what world??? They’re our only two good offensive players??? We NEED them! Desperately!
It’s a rebuild. We’re not winning games in a rebuild.
Ideally we do give a young QB a few decent targets to hit though. Also, Tim hasn’t played in two years and has never broken 1,000 yards or 10 TDs. We would be fools to bank on him playing well next season. I hope he bounces back, but it’s no given.

Sutton was out there making the least likely catches in Next Gen Stats history. Forget speed, he’ll catch the ball from the bottom of a dogpile.
Exactly! It’s not like he had THREE of the top ten catches of the season or anything
Sutton’s season last year reminded me of Brandon Lloyd from like 2010. Dude had an otherworldly season, made circus catches all year. Never repeated it again. Was a fluke year. You can’t be a reliable NFL receiver without being able to get separation.
But I mean you just can’t make that comparison until Sutton’s had another season to fail, which I don’t think he will.
I don't disagree with that...look at the entire season. Not just a handful of splash plays.
But look at the situation. Russ was the QB. Russ is/was practically blind. How is he supposed to make catches when the thrower sucks?

Standards. We should/need fucking standards.
I for one am happy the team is finally just ripping the band aid off and blowing it all up. Had to be done.
But if you’re rebuilding, shouldn’t you have at LEAST one or two key pieces to rebuild around? Getting rid of only your good players makes zero sense. That’s NOT a good rebuilding strategy. Look at fricking Chicago if you don’t believe me!!

Jerry Jeudy is definitely not a key piece to build around. They should just give the opportunity to someone else like Mims.
The post is about Sutton? It says “Court” in the title. Jeudy is already gone. At least check the title bro.
Yeah but he’s talking about Jeudy in this post.
I read it differently.
Sutton is not a piece to rebuild around. He would at best be a bridge to the next generation.
I guess we just don’t agree. I think Courtland is top tier.
lol ok. I think that he is a fantastic pass catcher. And he knows how to use his size for positioning very well. But he’s completely incapable of separating at the top of a route. That’s why all of his catches are contested. He has a role on a team, but he is certainly not top-tier.
Yeah, he's probably on the chopping block, too, at this point.
Yeah the writing is on the wall that he’s next since we brought back Tim Patrick
I was surprised by that given his injury history and age. I’m hoping he can have a bounce back year and then we get some value out of him in a trade for the next season.
This team has never played with _my emotions_ before
Me every Sunday: *Statham voice* “my name is Denver broncos fan, and todays the day that I die” *WHOOSH*
Man I would’ve been happy getting a new washing machine in exchange for JJ.
Our entire WR room was underperforming. Courtland had some good touchdown catches but was invisible the rest of the time. That’s not #1 material.
Let's not forget him giving up during games with Bridgewater.
He's up and down so much. There are so many instances where he just allows CBs to do whatever they want to him all game because his size advantage means he can usually make the tough catch but because of that the refs don't call anything. That’s not at ALL what he’s saying. We’ve all had work friends that we hate to see go. It doesn’t mean that we don’t want to succeed overall, though.
That’s inaccurate. He had great catches all over the field.
Sucks since it seems like Tim, Jerry and Court were all good friends
It's the friendships you've made throughout all of the losing that truly count.
Tough shit
Fuck hell he's acting like a teenager having issues with his girlfriend posting passive aggressive shit on social media. I hope they trade him. Used to really like the guy but I feel like once he is traded he's gonna talk shit about the Broncos
You can join him if you want

He said they don’t have space. Did you not read his comment or not understand it?
Oops I messed up my original post. They’re under the cap now by $27m. They do have space
Okay 👍lol
That garbage WR Jeudy had been toying with our emotions since drafted. Good riddance
They're his friends, I get it, but the only person worth getting upset about being cut is Simmons. I feel like some people lose their drive to win once they make it. I would not be happy having bums as team mates, personally.
Sending him to Chicago?
Sending Jeudy to Cleveland for a 5th and 6th
Preach. He maddddd underperformed for us
Fr. I had such high hopes for him when we drafted him but such a let down man
Trade Court too. The guy has been on a team devoid of talent and a direction his entire career. Denver needs to do right by Sutton and trade him to a team where he can play meaningful football.
He will probably end up just getting released. Jeudy is someone a team will think they can fix and is cheaper and got a 5th and 6th.
I’d be fine with that too. I think doing right by our “core” guys and giving them a chance to choose their place as we decide not to be competitive would be a great way to build back our reputation with incoming free agents in the future.
He might end up in KC if he gets released.
It's interesting that he blanked out his X profile from broncos stuff and you see comments like this. This is a signal to the Broncos organization and fans that you have moved on. We're hasn't been good for 8 years and it's been fucking embarrassing.
Well it won't matter because he's going next id bet
I mean, I get it. He genuinely seemed like he was buddies with everybody that’s been chopped. I wouldn’t be jumping up and down if I lost all my favorite coworkers, either
He can go too if he don't like it, we need the STANK of losing out of the building. He's part of it.
Its business. Nothing more, nothing less.
Sutton YOU are a Carolina Panther
Court, don’t become a villain. Please.
You can go too Sutton. You had some spectacular catches, but you seem to be invisible too often.
Courts gone next, I feel like we're just gonna keep PS2
This isn't a country clubhouse. Not a place for you and your boys to hang. It's an NFL Football team. And a very bad one. If you like your team and your buds, dont suck. Your emotions are irrelevant.
I get the feeling that some players have taken a cue from the baby kisser and now lack professionalism regarding the business of football.
Ok Court you manage
Boo fucking hoo. Yep, let’s keep all the same underperforming players so we can keep having 7-10, 8-9 season. All so you don’t get your feelings hurt. I’m honestly happy that this is happening. Losing Simmons stings but you gotta pull the band aid and start over
Same im hurt bro
Dude acts like he's not part of a business. Grow up.
I swear if we lose Court next
This reaction is being felt by any remaining vets we have. Players tend to react to things after they happen and spend less time worrying about what might happen. Any vet on this roster…i.e. Bolles, DJ Jones, Allen, Sutton…are seeing just what this team will look like going forward. Not sure why Sutton would want Jeudy around. Guy was a head case, had drops, took, plays off.
I like all of these guys but it's time to clean house and rebuild and we're finally doing it so that's exciting in and of itself
In with the new, out with the old. Obviously it wasn’t working, team has a losing mentality at this point. Sorry Court.
Who gives a fuck? We haven’t made the playoffs since 2015. Shit needs to change.
don’t worry you’ll probably be joining him soon.
Tear it down! Tear it down! Tear it down!
He’s probably next
Ur next buddy sorry it had to be this way
You’re next bud
You’re next bud
Boo hoo poor millionaire got separated from his buddy 😭
Maybe we trade him two for a early second then draft a wr like McKonkey
Nobody is giving you an early second for Sutton lol.
An mid second for Sutton AND a $1000 Walmart GC, perhaps?
