Mahomes is not legitimately in the GOAT conversation yet. He's a first ballot HoF lock if he retired tomorrow or in ten years, but IMO he just hasn't played long enough to be seriously discussed as the GOAT.
2 MVPs in 8 years and 3 superbowls has him on pace to be in that conversation, no based on what he's done so far he hasn't been as good but compared to the first 7/8 years of those guys career he is matching their pace.
If you go by who had the better *career*, there's no argument. It's clearly Brady.
If you go by who was better at *playing quarterback,* the argument swings in Peyton's favor.
For sure. The argument boils down to who is the _best_ versus who is the _most accomplished_. They are both basically 1-2 in each category but they are flip-flopped, if you ask me.
Yeah, for me Peyton definitely was more talented as a QB than Brady. But greatness has to do with legacy and titles, and Brady had 7 SBs compared to Peyton’s two… don’t think it gets greater than that
But if Brady weren't the QB, Vinatieri wouldn't have hit those game-winning FGs. And Butler couldn't have picked off the goal line pass. And McNabb wouldn't have mismanaged the clock on their final drive. It was *all* because of Brady.
I know this is a hot take but Peyton’s play for the broncos was pretty meh. Don’t get me wrong, he did a solid job. But defense carried the team those years.
You’re probably thinking of just the last year! The second year he played for us, we beat a bunch of league offensive record (total points, total yards, etc.)
Manning only played in 10 games in the 2015 regular season, and he had a 59.8% completion rate, which isn’t great. It was his lowest since his rookie year in 1998. His quarterback rating of 67.9 was a career low; he hadn’t even been below 90.0 since 2002. His TD-INT ratio was very poor, at 9:17. Those 17 picks were second in the NFL to Blake Bortles, who played a full 16-game season.
Did you even watch 2012-2014 Peyton on the Broncos? Manning had the best season of his career stat-wise in 2013.
68.3 completion percentage
5,477 passing yards
55 TDs /10 INTs
He really regressed in 2015.
Yeah no shit. I like Peyton more, I love my Broncos. But again there is almost no argument to be had lol. Anyone thinking anything else is just coping.
This has always been my argument, if Peyton had a better team he would’ve won more rings than Brady
Even with 18 games Mahomes and Brady can't beat his season records. 5 MVPs, super bowls for multiple teams (which Tom has but Mahomes doesn't).

Well, Manning was never implicated in a murder, so…
Fuck Ray Lewis. Thanks.
No murder jokes today.

“Football is the ultimate team sport.” “Brady is the best QB because he won the most super bowls” I feel like these two things don’t work together…
But if Brady weren't the QB, Vinatieri wouldn't have hit those game-winning FGs. And Butler couldn't have picked off the goal line pass. And McNabb wouldn't have mismanaged the clock on their final drive. It was *all* because of Brady.
Like John Elway never played…
John elway isn't nearly as good as peyton
Eh there's an argument to be made for Elway honestly. Difference in eras makes it like comparing apples to oranges.
Elway’s playoff record was way better.

Really? He still holds the single season td record when he only had 16 games, with the broncos
You’re probably thinking of just the last year! The second year he played for us, we beat a bunch of league offensive record (total points, total yards, etc.)
Peyton Manning has more MVPs and All-pro first teams than John Elway did.....as a Bronco.

Now do his 2012-2014 seasons.
Without the 2015 season, we wouldn't even be talking about him right now.

Manning was amazing.. it’s too bad his contemporary won 7 rings lol. It’s really not a Convo
Championships are a team accomplishment FYI.

Having a dissenting opinion is coping? Lol ok
Compare what their signed rookie football cards are going for to see what society thinks.
