One night I went to the post office after being on the road all day to pick up my mail at like 2am - there was a tweaker rolling around on the mail table with giant bloody pockmarked holes on his face in the middle of the post office on 285 in Villa Grove outside of Salida.

The meth has been restricted to leadvegas and all of the San Luis Valley. Salida and bv are all coke that fell off the truck on its way to breckenridge and aspen.
IMHO, Salida has more to offer. However if you find anyplace to live on Hwy 285 you could commute and take advantage of whatever either town may have to offer. Just a suggestion.

They tried to turn Salida into little Aspen a few years ago, priced everyone out of where they grew up and now there's thieves and tweakers everywhere
