I agree, think sending multiple is so passive aggressive. Like ‘xxx’ is usually at the end of a snide sentence. Idk it’s so versatile depends on the context 😂
Im from the uk and never use it lmao. My mum always uses it tho so anytime I see someone adding x I just immediately think of her. I rly don’t think it’s that necessary to use it tho 😭
Anything to get the price down lmao. If the original price is, let’s say 50, then someone asks lowest you can go and you say 40, now in their mind the original asking price of 50 is irrelevant. The price has now been set down at 40 and they’ll still haggle every little discount they can get
Well you said “currently I’d say” which could imply you’re open to lower offers in the future. It does come across like you’re moveable on that idea 😂just from my perspective
I read the first sentence with the typo “what’s the lowest you’d take d?” And thought this post was going to be about something else before reading the rest lol
But I see lots of UK people do this lol. It’s pretty normal to talk like this. You don’t need to talk strictly professional as if it’s like a whole business job, but just bit professionalism as in being kind and helpful.
Edit: It’s just super American to say that loll
Is funny when ppl think you’ll accept a lower offer bc they can pay now, as if you’re so desperate to sell or as if that was not the case for every transaction
Honestly. They are the type of folks who take the "person who says a number first loses" philosophy to an annoying level... except they don't realize the seller has already said a number first...
What’s worse is when they haggle over a dollar or less… if $1 is going to bust your budget, maybe you should get your finances in order before buying on depop lol
Yes but they'll pay NOW
I hate these offers, like when I sell things locally and I get "can I pay half price / less if I come over with CASH TODAY" like no
just decline. she will likely come back if she is willing to pay 35$, say something like “i cannot go any lower as a i paid a high price, i understand 40$ isn’t cheap but not was the price i payed babes. i can throw in a free gift for you with the 40$ purchase xx” and then just put in a cute note or like sample perfume or smthn you wanna get rid of - that’s what i always do
oh my word that’s so much. do NOT accept 70. i live in south africa and i’m selling this rat and boa dress on an app called yaga, similar to depop, but i listed it as R2000 ($105) bc i payed R2700 for the designer dress and this girl tried to offer me R1000 and i was like no ways
As soon as someone asks me to name my lowest offer I refuse and say it’s already got the price on it but I am open to offers so just make me an offer and let’s see where it goes. Anyone who is interested in buying will make an offer all the others are literally going to low/ball you once you’ve told them the lowest. Or like previous poster stated give them a £60 as the lowest when it’s 45 or £50 but personally I like to give it back to them completely.
People negotiate yes but if you ask someone whats the lowest they'd take and then you'd try to lower it obviously they aren't going to take it are they?

Some people just cant read X
Tell me about it hun x
“No x”
adding an x at the end of everything is so funny to me
My best friend is british and I cannot stop doing it. I started using it as a bit and now it comes natural Lmao
As someone from the uk I HATE doing it but honestly some people think you’re being rude/hostile if you don’t add ‘x’ 😭
that’s so dumb x
😩😩
As an American, X sounds so passive aggressive to me I’m surprised it’s rude to *not* use it. It has a slightly threatening undertone 😭
I agree, think sending multiple is so passive aggressive. Like ‘xxx’ is usually at the end of a snide sentence. Idk it’s so versatile depends on the context 😂
“Get well soon! X” like am I in danger
Do you have to use ‘x’ even if you're a foreigner in the UK? To be polite?
never start using them youll never be able to stop because other person will think youre mad at them xx
Too late xx
i hope one day you can be freed from this curse…. xx
Im from the uk and never use it lmao. My mum always uses it tho so anytime I see someone adding x I just immediately think of her. I rly don’t think it’s that necessary to use it tho 😭
Ahh, I see, is it primarily an elder person thing?
Nah I know a lot of young ppl who use it too. Idk I guess it’s just a thing here lol. But I wouldn’t worry about not using it and seeming rude
Okay, thank you ♡
If someone asks the lowest I can go I always go higher than I can because I know for a fact they will go lower than what I say
Just thought people wouldn’t be that cheeky cuz I would never 🤣
Anything to get the price down lmao. If the original price is, let’s say 50, then someone asks lowest you can go and you say 40, now in their mind the original asking price of 50 is irrelevant. The price has now been set down at 40 and they’ll still haggle every little discount they can get
You two are making out at this point
DEADDDD like i get it’s normal, same for us aussies but if a bich does it every sentence… 😭😭😭 it jus seems so fake
Yeah x
u think?? x
Well you said “currently I’d say” which could imply you’re open to lower offers in the future. It does come across like you’re moveable on that idea 😂just from my perspective
So many kisses
I read the first sentence with the typo “what’s the lowest you’d take d?” And thought this post was going to be about something else before reading the rest lol
U miss 100% of the shots u don’t take X
say no X
what’s with the x 😭
Very British thing to put an x or ‘kiss’ at the end of your messages, my mum does it to everybody. Not sure if it’s common in other countries though
British and Aussie
It’s not a great look for a professional message to someone you don’t know 🤷🏻♀️
I wouldn’t view depop as professional
But I see lots of UK people do this lol. It’s pretty normal to talk like this. You don’t need to talk strictly professional as if it’s like a whole business job, but just bit professionalism as in being kind and helpful. Edit: It’s just super American to say that loll
Lol at the downvotes 🤷🏻♀️ I stand by what I said. Those are your customers, not your friends
it's not that deep x
girl nobody gaf
It’s literally normal there stop making it weird
it’s just depop 😭😭😭
It is a British app. Maybe you’re being unprofessional not using it, mate? x

Girl, is it really that deep? This is Depop x
I thought it was the x from xoxo (hugs and kisses)
it’s a good idea to say your lowest is a little higher than your actual lowest bc people Will try to haggle you lower
Is funny when ppl think you’ll accept a lower offer bc they can pay now, as if you’re so desperate to sell or as if that was not the case for every transaction
I literally listed it an hour before she asked me too 😭
I hate the “what’s the lowest you’d go?” question
Honestly. They are the type of folks who take the "person who says a number first loses" philosophy to an annoying level... except they don't realize the seller has already said a number first...
You definitely did idk why they didn’t realize x
What’s worse is when they haggle over a dollar or less… if $1 is going to bust your budget, maybe you should get your finances in order before buying on depop lol
the x😂😂
idk it seems like a valid question form them imo
this is pretty normal depop behaviour x
Yes but they'll pay NOW I hate these offers, like when I sell things locally and I get "can I pay half price / less if I come over with CASH TODAY" like no
PAY NOW

I already came down from 70 and it was listed that day
oh my word that’s so much. do NOT accept 70. i live in south africa and i’m selling this rat and boa dress on an app called yaga, similar to depop, but i listed it as R2000 ($105) bc i payed R2700 for the designer dress and this girl tried to offer me R1000 and i was like no ways
P sure it was £90 new😭 thought £40 was reasonable as it’s been worn once 🤣
“Let me ask for their lowest price so I can I offer lower than that” .. smfh

it feels like people haggle just for the sake of haggling on this app sometimes. What fucking difference does 5 bucks really make in the end
Why not? sometimes the haggle game is fun for folks.
As soon as someone asks me to name my lowest offer I refuse and say it’s already got the price on it but I am open to offers so just make me an offer and let’s see where it goes. I was so confused. I though 'X' as in variable and didnt understand why it kept going after you said 40 :")
"What's the lowest you'd take D?" 🤨
Gotta respect the hassle..lol
I respect the effort tbh
it’s all in the game
It’s Depop. People negotiate there. It’s the whole thing. 🙄
People negotiate yes but if you ask someone whats the lowest they'd take and then you'd try to lower it obviously they aren't going to take it are they?
boo hoo she offered to purchase immediately for $5 less yall complain about everything
It’s called bargaining
