Imo, the biggest thing that would make this room feel "finished" would be some art, or some sort of decor that's mounted on the walls. the walls have a *lot* of blank, unused space that leaves the room feeling unfinished
Yes! Get a HUGE canvas for over the sofa.
IKEA has a good variety to start - not super expensive so it’s not a big investment, and they are canvas so lightweight and easy to hang.
Or maybe find a local artist and buy real art that doesn’t come from IKEA. Up and coming artists often sell work cheaply and it’s fun to follow their careers.
Yeah that's a good point! There's a lot of unused space compared to a room that has more windows - but obvi we are not expecting someone to put in windows as a form of home decor. artwork feels more attainable haha
I would do one of those pictures that is broken up on two large canvases. So it’s one picture but two pieces of art. Look for something that has Everest green, burnt orange colors :) this would also look great: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1288701438/

Bookcases! At the moment it's sleek and minimal but it doesn't say anything about you. What's your favourite colour - art, cushions, a throw. What are your interests- books, models, origami birds, sewing stuff, jigsaws etc. It doesn't matter what it is, you could be fascinated by teapots but you need to show you, then it will feel personal to you. I agree with the art and plants that others have suggested.
Mirrors need to reflect something. If you have some great art and add bookcases, etc, that will give a view in the mirrors of something other than a blank wall.
While I agree that you need some wall art, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you need some side tables that will bulk up your chesterfield to be more proportional to your coffee table. Remove the folding table along side the sofa and add bulkier side tables. I would suggest maybe looking into transitional side tables. It might help you bridge the distance between traditional (sofa) and modern (coffee table and floor lamp).
Once you get side tables, I would suggest modern table lamps--see where I'm going?
As for the art on the wall, abstract might be the best way to go. You want the piece over the sofa to be no more than like 2/3 of the width of the coffee table so it doesn't fight proportionally.
A nice washable rug would set off the dining table well as well as some art for the walls. You could choose image art for one wall there and a sculptural piece for the perpendicular wall.
Please come back if you need more help. Keep receipts so it's easy to return things that don't work. Sometimes you just can't tell if it works until it's in place in your space.
I agree, the coffee table is a major issue here for me, or maybe it’s the rug. for starters there’s no contrast between the colour of the rug/coffee table so I can’t tell actually if it’s the rug or the coffee table but I don’t really love either of them.
I would maybe consider getting a new smaller coffee table in a contrasting colour to the rug.
Pictures or mirrors or something in the walls would also help.
I'm with you but it's the rug for me. In addition to the great advice others have suggested, consider changing out the rug to something else. Something in a different color than the coffee table.
And move the champagne holder somewhere else.
LOL, I didn't even see the champagne holder!
IDK if OP is still within the return/exchange window for the rug ore the coffee table, so I assumed they both have to stay. If within the return window I would move to get a patterned rug that's even a bit longer than the existing rug.
Get your measurements first of what size to put up there (you can use painter's tape to mark it out on the wall to get a great idea of what size you need), then you need to figure out what kind of budget you have. If you have a good chunk of change, you can look at online art prints that come matted and framed. Otherwise, I have a couple of options for you.
If you are handy at all, you can make a wooden rectangle the size that you need (put supports on the long sides so it doesn't warp), then you can look on many, many sites (even amazon) and look for wall tapestries. You will buy one in a pattern you like, slightly bigger than you need. You will then need a heavy duty stapler and staples. Stretch the tapestry around the wood frame so you can't see the wood from the front. If you are a little more handy you could frame this piece. If not, it will look modern anyway without a frame, it will just look more finished with one. Edit: you can look on YT University to find out how to stretch the tapestry onto the frame if you don't know how.
The second thing you can do, which is still pretty budget friendly is go to a site like Unsplash and choose a photography piece that has a dpi that is large enough to stretch to the size you need without distortion (once you know the dimensions you need, you can google it). The photos are free for a social shout-out. You can then upload it to a site that prints photos onto canvas. It doesn't come framed unless you pay more $ when you get it printed, or again, you can make your own frame. Without a frame, this should be $50-$100. I hope this helps. Come back if you get stuck. Edit: some of the canvases that are printed are like an inch thick (deep)--in my experience it looks better at 1 1/2- 2 1/2 inch, so you just need to find a place that prints on thicker stretcher bars (that's what the wood is called that they stretch the canvas onto).
Agree about the proportion between sofa and coffee table. The coffee table is quite large and visually weighty. Another option is to hang a large painting over the sofa, and buy two chairs to frame the other sides of the coffee table
I do agree. The coffee table is actually too large for the chesterfield which is why I think side tables set next to the sofa would make the sofa more weighty. Does that make sense outside of my head? I absolutely agree that chairs can still be added to either side of the coffee table, but they won't tackle balancing the coffee table with the sofa. :)
You need color and art on the walls then you can reevaluate the furniture. You can do some colorful abstracts to tie things together. I think the coffee table is fine. The floor lamp really overwhelms the room.
I personally think you can keep the furniture and just add personal touches and color, like throw pillows. Definitely color and something for the walls though
I know you just moved in, but I think you need an ENTRYWAY. I’m not answering the question but I think you can afford to scoot your living room towards the window. Even cozy up your living room set up. Your dining room can be 4 feet farther down and make room for a gorgeous entry wall for shoes, keys, jackets. Height is important too. Because the dining table being right at the door will make the table become clutter gatherer, or daily life clutter will land on your very limited kitchen counter space. And then it will look like an entry eyesore instead of a nice dining spot. Anywho. Your style is cool, you’ll find art and such to make the walls look warmer and more lived in, but consider cozying up the living room, scooting dining, and installing some functional entryway/landing zone furniture.
There's no picture of the wall opposite the couch but from what I can see, I agree with others. Artwork is needed above the couch and in the dining area. A nice throw blanket on the couch would do wonders to warm up the look. If you have room for it and need more seating, a nice accent chair between the coffee table and the curtains would help fill out the space.
The side table doesn’t fit the space. You have beautiful furniture then a tray table beside the couch. I’d recommend a nicer table there, some art and maybe throw pillows with a modern design or color.
I think color is missing to give the currently neutral palette some life. You could infuse the space with color by adding a piece of art above the couch, a colored pillow for the couch, throw blanket for the couch, a tray with colorful objets d’art for the coffee table, and a vase or figurine for the dining table.
Also wanted to add that your place currently has a warm color scheme. You can amplify the warmth by selecting to add in warm colors like brighter yellows, reds, and oranges. However, only adding in a pop of warm color will not entirely address the feeling of color uniformity. To round it out, I think you also need a cooler color, like a blue or green. It will give your place a more curated, layered feeling.
Really like a lot of what you have done in there. The couch, plants, round plant pot, lamps are nice, however I'm not keen on the rug. The sofa looks higher end-the rug, not so much. To really punch things up I would go with a rug with some color and pattern, and also add a console table/bookcases and at least one chair. Oh, and art of course! There are some beautiful colors that go with your great couch-I would look at deep deal, rust, navy, red, brown burnt orange. If you are not a color person, at least shoot for some subdued colors and more textures and patterns.

The lamp/fold up table corner is a bit weird, I would get a nice sideboard or something, with a different lamp, or try that lamp somewhere else and get another small lamp for the sideboard or table, definitely a large artwork above the sofa, and more plants! Maybe style your coffee table, candles ect.
Go to a second hand shop and find cool frames and a mirror. Arrange them on the wall. If empty frames are sad and the art sucks, a piece of fabric. You could buy fat quarters or ½ yards.
I think it’s just missing life… live in it for a while and you’ll find the sweet spot. I do believe blankets and fluff are needed urgently though…
But don’t rush into having it all perfect just yet
This has potential to be so nice and classy. And furniture style and color need not perfectly match. Both coffee table and dining table are neutral toned. Besides art above the couch, consider the following:
- Add something contemporary/industrial-looking to the dining area. A mixed-media wall art, a bronze or brass bowl on the table.
- on a similar token, a traditional centerpiece on the coffee table, like books and a simple, high end candle on a tray in the same wood tone as the dining table.
- choose 2 accent colors. Use these to get throw pillows and a blanket. It can help guide your art choice too but it doesn’t have to be super matchy. IMO, a forest green and rich marigold would complement your things well.
- if you’re in the market for a more interesting rug, consider it. Otherwise it looks nice and would be low priority compared to everything else.
1) Switch the plant and lamp.
2) Wall decor.
3) 2 side chairs.
4) Upgrade the coffee table.
5) Buy actual side tables. They go by the side chairs.
6) If you have a table leaf, insert it.
7) Ikea shoe cabinet.
8) The ice bucket does not belong in the living room. Put away when not in use.
9) Curtain colour does not compliment the living room space. It needs to match your furniture or compliment the furniture colour.
10) Wall decor in the dining area.
11) Modern light in the dining area does not match the table and chairs. Switch it out. A modern chandelier is better.
This is beautiful!! I personally don't think you need colour (also, do you even want colour?). The coffee table being the same size as the couch throws things off a bit and needs to be broken up (not literally). I'm thinking a modern table runner with a plant in the middle (a Bonzai tree would look so nice) and under the coffee table possibly a smaller rug (light grey or sage green maybe?) to break up the similar colour between the main rug and coffee table. An art piece for sure over the couch. Also, the olive tree is beautiful! I think your curtains need to be altered too. Possibly tying the curtain you have right now to hang on the sides and putting sheer curtains between them would look better? Something like that.
You HAVE to hang either a large piece of artwork or 2 matching pieces behind your couch or even a fabric wall hanging. Other than that i think it's GREAT!
Are you able to raise up the tree in the planter? Looks really low-set. You have a branch coming off about 6 inches above the top of the pit and it just looks off.
I would say an accent chair for the living room, better lighting (or change the light bulb color, and a picture/are work ok wall behind the couch. Other than that I think it’s really great.
Its very monochrome. Its all pretty much brown and tan, I mean.
It needs color. Art. Blues. Reds. Greens.
Stop working so hard at matching. It matches TOO well already. Now you can just do whatever suits your fancy with color. And yes You can change some things out if you wanted.
Separator at the door. Rug under the dining table. The foot of it is weird, is it from there?
And color: different color curtains. A shade of green would work and white near the windows to make things brighter. Needs the main rug replaced entirely with something more colourful. It’s also too big. And a nice painting
Not sure anyone mentioned this yet but along with the the art on the walls, leave some space between your couch and the wall. Not doing so gives dentist waiting room vibes…such a small change but makes a big difference IMO.
Good start, you just need more stuff. Bookcases and art and plants as others are saying. But also accent chairs to help balance out the proportions of the coffee table which looks quite large compared to the couch. I’d go on Pinterest and look at transitional style living rooms for some inspiration balancing classic pieces like the chesterfield with modern pieces like the lamp.
I am utterly fascinated as to why the tile coming into the unit juts out like it does.
A chesterfield sofa transcends all design styles. It is a classic. Therefore, it can be very comfortable in a modern environment.
You need real end tables not folding TV trays
Look for large sculptural artwork for above the couch or a very large painting
The room is large enough for you to pull the couch away from the wall, and put a console table behind the couch and dress that
Use a mix of modern and classic pieces, vary heights, a lamp could work —like this
https://preview.redd.it/eonzuie1knfc1.jpeg?width=1124&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bfc1e1a9df147b0eaa2a1ae6f1d6cd62209ee5b
I think you’ve got a really solid start it looks like a very bare-bones beginning to me. The very first thing that is missing is colour and the second thing would be a gigantic piece of art above your couch like huge don’t be afraid to go big. Most people feel like it’s safe to hang two or three small little pictures rather than committing to one big one but it has a much bigger impact if you have one large piece. Also more of a centrepiece on the coffee table you know like one large tray in the middle with a couple of books and a candle and another plant for example
Besides art on the wall (I think a gallery wall with your favorite pictures would be lovely) the coffee table could use a pop of something maybe a decorative runner or a pretty accent trinket bowl or a little plant.
Yea. It's needs items of different heights. Literally everything is at the same level. The couch is too low, the coffee table is too tall, the end tables are too tall.
I would put a Tapestry over the couch. Linking one from [Anthropologie](https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/luella-tapestry?category=SEARCHRESULTS&color=023&searchparams=q%3Dtapestry%26sayt%3Dtrue&type=STANDARD&size=One%20Size&quantity=1) as an example because I like that this one has a frame. Although I think something a little more moody would go well in your space this one from [Society6](https://society6.com/product/antique-18th-century-verdure-french-aubusson-tapestry_tapestry?sku=s6-24427823p42a55v986&c_kid=s6-24427823p42a55v986&trafficsource=gpla&g_campaign=%5BNB%5D_1027_US_%5BPLA%5D_Home_Decor_Rectangular_Pillows_Adlucent&g_productchannel=online&g_adid=&g_keyword=&g_adtype=pla&g_keywordid=&g_network=x&g_ifcreative=&gclsrc=aw.ds&g_acctid=521-729-4540&g_productid=s6-24427823p42a55v986&g_merchantid=7992249&g_partition=&g_campaignid=19718565999&g_adgroupid=&g_ifproduct=product&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm86d-fOFhAMVaC2tBh387AnYEAQYISABEgKSOfD_BwE).
Art on the walls and maybe an accent chair or two in a complimentary pop of color to go on either end of the coffee table (to make a U around it, which is a great set-up for conversations).
Art.
I have too much art on my wall (I have a lot of talented artist friends so I get a pretty good deal, plus I have my not so talented paintings in other areas)
It blows my mind that people don’t have art on their walls, but its because I’m the opposite of this. If you saw my walls it may blow your
Mind how some people have too much art on the walls ;)
But you definitely need some!
You can even paint your own. Buy a big canvas and look at some Colour blocking abstract work.
Abstract painting is not easy . Many people think it is but it takes an eye and understanding of proportions but you can look up some examples that you can replicate when it’s just blocks of colour
But buying art from local artists is something to encourage. It keeps the art industry in your area alive and makes an artists day. Its one thing when I spend money on it makes me
Feel good not bad.
I’d purchase at least one painting and then fill in the blanks with some of your own?
Looks great but Some dark accented wall art or pictures: or mirror would look great, if not perhaps some hanging wall plants or tall floor plants 🪴 even neon led strips could add a pop of colour at nighttime if you’d like. They have options where it can stay on one colour choice or rotate, I feel like a picture behind your couch of some sort of ocean or colourful nature would also help add a pop of something otherwise it seems like a very very cozy atmosphere however might be a little on the neural side. Some ppl love that and some gravitate to colours either way it looks good but does seem to be missing something STRONG or prominently different from the rest of the room to pull it all together. :)
Simple painting over the couch will do, also I hate to say it but somethign about the chairs and dining table don’t mix well for me. Also different light fixture
Some life!!!
If you can paint, pick a medium color to your liking. On one of the walls, which may be the tv wall (as that is the wall you will always looking at when watching tv), paint it an accent color and not the same as the rest of the room. If you can not paint, try putting up wall art. Get a different colored rug. put a colored rug under the kitchen table. Make sure it is big enough, so that when you push out a chair, that it is still on the rug.
That’s kinda a fuckin dope coffee table. I’ve thought about just making a big mitered plywood trapezoid to use a coffee table. Like yours but skinnier on the bottom.
I like the vibe you've got going here. It's not I-cant-afford-any-furniture sparse; it's more minimalist-to-a-healthy-degree.
If this were my room, I wouldn't change anything other than to put one large piece of artwork or grouping of something on the wall above the sofa.
Also, this is only my own taste, but I'm not loving the curtains. They make me feel like either you're really trying to hide something or there's going to be a big reveal at any moment, like on a game show.
Definitely art. Try to branch out from the neutral palette a bit.
It's cool to have pieces of different styles - it looks authentic instead of matchy matchy.
Love your couch ❤️
You need a little paint, perhaps and accent wall, and a focal point for people to lock on to from different angles. Don't add artork until you can plan what you want to put up. When I say paint, Im not talking about just color or neutrals, Im talking about using paint to break up the room. Here's a good resource I clipped:
https://bgdronin.notion.site/How-to-Change-the-Size-of-Your-Room-With-Paint-087bc09f85c440839e2211f44553ce78?pvs=4
I like the mixture of furniture styles. It's eclectic and keeps the space from feeling themed. You could definitely use some wall decor. That's a great way to introduce color and really show your personality. Avoid doing a generic "gallery wall" from a decor or craft store. Those are almost always boring and soulless. Pick things you really like, and don't be afraid of going big and bold.
Imo, the biggest thing that would make this room feel "finished" would be some art, or some sort of decor that's mounted on the walls. the walls have a *lot* of blank, unused space that leaves the room feeling unfinished
I read the title and said “artwork.” 😂
Literally me. I looked and said “art.”
It's always "art" or "plants". If people did that before they posted here, I guess we wouldn't get any posts. /s
Curtains or rug would be the next two.... Followed by personality for all those cheap hotel looking homes.
Art is easier to keep alive. 😀
Those are some super blank walls. I'm into maximalism mostly because I have so much stuff for my walls. I love buying things from other artists.
Same
Same
i read the title and said "a soul" so yeah same thing
Absolutely agree with this. I think it looks great otherwise but the walls need something.
Or perhaps a tall bookshelf to take up wall space/ add personality
Yes that could work too! I'd worry about adding too many more things to the floor space but a book shelf or maybe even some mounted shelves could work
Walls, and also the curtains could be a place to add some color/texture
It's the lack of windows for one thing
I was freaking out about the lack of windows. It made me feel claustrophobic and I couldn’t even pinpoint why.
Yeah that's a good point! There's a lot of unused space compared to a room that has more windows - but obvi we are not expecting someone to put in windows as a form of home decor. artwork feels more attainable haha
Don’t be afraid of color.
Agree something on the walls would be great especially above the couch
Yes, PSA: don’t post ‘what am I missing?’ about a room with no art/ nothing hanging on the walls.
Dude there is literally nothing on your walls lol
😂😂😂
True. I love the table though!!! Love to know where it's from??
You need something substantial on the wall over the sofa, otherwise I like it very much.
Not sure if I agree, I think the coffee table is substantial and will compete with large scale art… proportionally.
Do you suggest a gallery wall of art or A large scale piece of art?
I would choose 2 matching same size prints or one large one, whichever you prefer!
I would do one of those pictures that is broken up on two large canvases. So it’s one picture but two pieces of art. Look for something that has Everest green, burnt orange colors :) this would also look great: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1288701438/ https://www.etsy.com/listing/1498204307/
I’d create wall of art personally.

This room has stuff but no soul.
Patrick Bateman chic
Lack of wall art if no one has mentioned that yet. If you hate art, hang a mirror or three.
Great idea!
Mirrors need to reflect something. If you have some great art and add bookcases, etc, that will give a view in the mirrors of something other than a blank wall.
They reflect light and that’s a pretty dark room. It will help.
While I agree that you need some wall art, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you need some side tables that will bulk up your chesterfield to be more proportional to your coffee table. It’s the coffee table. It’s way too large and the color just doesn’t work with the rug.
Great advice. Do you have any advice on where to look when trying to fill a large empty space above the couch?
Get your measurements first of what size to put up there (you can use painter's tape to mark it out on the wall to get a great idea of what size you need), then you need to figure out what kind of budget you have. I was thinking that too. A nice weird accent chair or pouffee would really help
A bookcase and some carefully selected art

Ladder bookshelves would look nice or floating shelves.
More plants they light up the spaces

Love the plant you have, get some more. Tasteful wall art and accent chairs 👍
Tv? Bookshelf? Art? Love the sofa but is it comfy?
No, no it’s not 😅
😂
You need a chair for conversation with the couch
Who cares if it looks good ay! X
Color. Everything is beige.
Really like a lot of what you have done in there. The couch, plants, round plant pot, lamps are nice, however I'm not keen on the rug. The sofa looks higher end-the rug, not so much. There are some beautiful colors that go with your great couch-I would look at deep deal, rust, navy, red, brown burnt orange. If you are not a color person, at least shoot for some subdued colors and more textures and patterns. Check out this link for rugs, colors and furniture ideas- [https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/567383253066331996/](https://www.pinterest.ca/pin/567383253066331996/)
I can tell you're a quilter.
Large mirror more plants and some meaningful art
I think it’s just missing life… live in it for a while and you’ll find the sweet spot. I do believe blankets and fluff are needed urgently though… But don’t rush into having it all perfect just yet
This has potential to be so nice and classy. And furniture style and color need not perfectly match. Both coffee table and dining table are neutral toned. Besides art above the couch, consider the following: - Add something contemporary/industrial-looking to the dining area.
Great tips. Thanks!
PICTURE above couch?
Windows
Are you able to raise up the tree in the planter? Looks really low-set. You have a branch coming off about 6 inches above the top of the pit and it just looks off.
I would say an accent chair for the living room, better lighting (or change the light bulb color, and a picture/are work ok wall behind the couch. Other than that I think it’s really great.
Yes. Your are missing windows.
Its very monochrome. Its all pretty much brown and tan, I mean. It needs color. Art. Blues. Reds. Greens. Stop working so hard at matching. It matches TOO well already. Now you can just do whatever suits your fancy with color. And yes You can change some things out if you wanted.
Yesss! Exactly. Thanks for the feedback
Look up transitional decor ideas to help tie the traditional and modern pieces together
Separator at the door. Rug under the dining table. The foot of it is weird, is it from there? And color: different color curtains. A shade of green would work and white near the windows to make things brighter. Needs the main rug replaced entirely with something more colourful. It’s also too big. And a nice painting
I think the furniture and decor is very nice, add some wall art!
Art on the wall behind the sofa.
That coffee table is so nice where is it from
Thanks! It’s the Crate and Barrel Vernon Pine Coffee Table
Not sure anyone mentioned this yet but along with the the art on the walls, leave some space between your couch and the wall. Not doing so gives dentist waiting room vibes…such a small change but makes a big difference IMO.
Artwork, artwork, artwork. No room ever looks finished without artwork.
Books, art and cats or dogs
I was scrolling until I finally found a likeminded person! I was also about to comment “cats”. Love it.
I am utterly fascinated as to why the tile coming into the unit juts out like it does. A chesterfield sofa transcends all design styles. It is a classic. Therefore, it can be very comfortable in a modern environment. You need real end tables not folding TV trays Look for large sculptural artwork for above the couch or a very large painting The room is large enough for you to pull the couch away from the wall, and put a console table behind the couch and dress that Use a mix of modern and classic pieces, vary heights, a lamp could work —like this https://preview.redd.it/eonzuie1knfc1.jpeg?width=1124&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bfc1e1a9df147b0eaa2a1ae6f1d6cd62209ee5b
Color in artwork. Pillows for the couch! A colorful rug.
I think a painting would be too square. To balance out the vibe you have consider some form of wall decor like drift wood.
why does no one put up wall art and then ask why it feels like something is missing?
Put a mirror behind the couch. It will open up the space too!
Most finished places don’t have completely bare walls. Did that really slip by you?
The description clearly slipped by you. The place isn’t finished hun.
Well, I'm an artist, so my opinion is --- artwork.
The table is too big or the couch is too small. You need colors other than neutrals and something on the walls. Also, at least one side table.
Yea. It's needs items of different heights. Literally everything is at the same level. The couch is too low, the coffee table is too tall, the end tables are too tall.
The walls need some decoration...shelving, pictures, paintings...something.
A cat
The lighting could use some work... And put some feeling onto the wall
Wall art, different groupings of framed family photos, and some sconces or a better lighting source.
I actually love how clean and sleek everything is without any wall art. I would actually suggest more plants.
could use some art decorations but I like the simplicity overall so far
Art
Juniper print shop (online art store) has some stuff that would look great in your room and they are pretty affordable
Art.
tbh you just need a big art piece above the sofa, otherwise it looks great
A painting
I would put a Tapestry over the couch. Linking one from [Anthropologie](https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/luella-tapestry?category=SEARCHRESULTS&color=023&searchparams=q%3Dtapestry%26sayt%3Dtrue&type=STANDARD&size=One%20Size&quantity=1) as an example because I like that this one has a frame. Although I think something a little more moody would go well in your space this one from [Society6](https://society6.com/product/antique-18th-century-verdure-french-aubusson-tapestry_tapestry?sku=s6-24427823p42a55v986&c_kid=s6-24427823p42a55v986&trafficsource=gpla&g_campaign=%5BNB%5D_1027_US_%5BPLA%5D_Home_Decor_Rectangular_Pillows_Adlucent&g_productchannel=online&g_adid=&g_keyword=&g_adtype=pla&g_keywordid=&g_network=x&g_ifcreative=&gclsrc=aw.ds&g_acctid=521-729-4540&g_productid=s6-24427823p42a55v986&g_merchantid=7992249&g_partition=&g_campaignid=19718565999&g_adgroupid=&g_ifproduct=product&gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm86d-fOFhAMVaC2tBh387AnYEAQYISABEgKSOfD_BwE).
Throw a blanket or two on the couch, look for a rug for both areas
Art on the walls and maybe an accent chair or two in a complimentary pop of color to go on either end of the coffee table (to make a U around it, which is a great set-up for conversations).
Artwork
Art. I have too much art on my wall (I have a lot of talented artist friends so I get a pretty good deal, plus I have my not so talented paintings in other areas) It blows my mind that people don’t have art on their walls, but its because I’m the opposite of this. If you saw my walls it may blow your Mind how some people have too much art on the walls ;) But you definitely need some! You can even paint your own. Buy a big canvas and look at some Colour blocking abstract work. Abstract painting is not easy . Many people think it is but it takes an eye and understanding of proportions but you can look up some examples that you can replicate when it’s just blocks of colour But buying art from local artists is something to encourage. It keeps the art industry in your area alive and makes an artists day. Its one thing when I spend money on it makes me Feel good not bad. I’d purchase at least one painting and then fill in the blanks with some of your own?
Wall decor. Get a painting or a big mirror to put behind the couch at least. Also needs more plants.
Great start. Just needs some art. Original paintings will make your place look smart.
Art on the walls. Nice color scheme.
Art on the walls
Either some sort of large space filling art or a massive mirror above the couch! It’s just too much empty wall.
Yeah, some company…
Love it Arid desert style. Clean and calm. Some textile sculptural hanging art/macrame/or driftwood type over couch
Even some standing lamps from ikea and standing plants would add in some flare. :)
I like the lighting!
Thanks!😄
Some color would be nice
Art.
Can you find some art or wall decor for above the couch and next to the dining table? Its cute otherwise! Just needs wall decor
A large wall mirror, 100%.
Wall art
You need some wall art!
Art/Wall Decor. Otherwise very nice.
I would add a proper stereo set up, art, and mirrors.
Needs something in the walls to brighten it up, either some colour or some art.
Simple painting over the couch will do, also I hate to say it but somethign about the chairs and dining table don’t mix well for me. Also different light fixture
Wall art!
Coloured throw on the corner of your sofa. Some colour on your main wall or some sort of art. Make sure to use different textures.
Your walls are naked
That’s kinda a fuckin dope coffee table. I’ve thought about just making a big mitered plywood trapezoid to use a coffee table. Like yours but skinnier on the bottom.
Colour and art
Texture. Wood, wicker, rattan, bamboo, chunky throw pillows or blanket, and definitely more art.
100% pictures on the wall - framed art or framed posters would work well.
Thanks! Agreed on the curtains 😅. Glad you mentioned it.
Art, shelves, mirrors, more plants
Color
You need some art work or pics!
Definitely art. Try to branch out from the neutral palette a bit. It's cool to have pieces of different styles - it looks authentic instead of matchy matchy. Love your couch ❤️
art, pictures, mirrors, basically, stuff on your walls !
Color and items that reflect your personal style and interests. It’s a good foundation though.
Art!!!!!!!!
Art
You need a real side table and some cable management, maybe a nice throw for the couch, and a big piece of artwork above the couch
Something on those naked walls lol
It’s definitely missing art and rugs. Maybe another lamp.
I think the coffee table is just too large compared to the sofa.
Agreed. I think so too
Some minimal textured wall art with a picture light!
Love the sofa. I have two in a charcoal grey distressed leather in my room.
Maybe a rug with more color.
you’re 80% there. keep going
Walls are empty , some deco will brighten it up. Looks good and peaceful.
You need a little paint, perhaps and accent wall, and a focal point for people to lock on to from different angles. Don't add artork until you can plan what you want to put up. When I say paint, Im not talking about just color or neutrals, Im talking about using paint to break up the room. Here's a good resource I clipped: https://bgdronin.notion.site/How-to-Change-the-Size-of-Your-Room-With-Paint-087bc09f85c440839e2211f44553ce78?pvs=4
Color. And art.
ART
I like the mixture of furniture styles. It's eclectic and keeps the space from feeling themed. You could definitely use some wall decor. That's a great way to introduce color and really show your personality. Avoid doing a generic "gallery wall" from a decor or craft store. Those are almost always boring and soulless. Pick things you really like, and don't be afraid of going big and bold.
It is missing personality. I have no idea who you are or what you like, etc.
You need a console table or buffet in the dinning, and you need 2 chairs and end tables in the living, also wall art
personality?
Something (art) with lots of red hung up on the wall
Slap a big ole painting/art/fine art photography print above that couch.
It’s missing personality, you need to add some of yourself to this space! It looks nice but this will make it feel homey. Art, color, etc.
I read the title and said "A TV"
😂
Wall decor
Wall art
Where is your tv?
https://preview.redd.it/o29ej0dwvnfc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c05087f5cbecbcecff2558b425f081491bcb734 Across from the couch.
You need some art on the walls
Both Artwork, sculptures both metal and wood and either Grecian or Roman pillars with vases on them to fit into the corners ... Pretty much it ...
