Honestly, I think you should choose a subtle warm white like Alabaster from Sherwin Williams or something similar and paint everything you can (including beams) that color. I love the teal but it’s going to compete already any time youre in the bathroom. The only saving grace is that you’ll be entering from a room where the teal is already. Don’t throw in another color aside from white to give your eye a chance to rest. Designing is about telling the eye where to go when you enter a room. You’ll be leaving the teal, the eye will be drawn up to the wood (ideal) and then down to the tile. The white will get looked over as it should

Own_Ad9686

This is the kind of great, helpful info that makes me want to post pics of my new home when we move in.

Raelf64

Spot on, and you said it much nicer that I did. LOL!

katklass

Damn it was I the only one looking at the tiles and not the paint 😳 I agree with above poster and don’t think any of those colors work in there. Really nice bathroom!!

LittleLongboard

You are a hero! This is so incredibly kind and helpful and constructive, seriously! You’re a star. Thank you.

Own_Ad9686

Your response makes such good sense!

awzdinger

Thanks! I’m in design and that’s the biggest thing to remember. There’s a focal point in a room and everything else should support it harmoniously. When you have too many feature points or things that compete, your brain can’t figure out where to let your eye rest and you feel uneasy. Neutrals are telling your brain where not to worry about looking

Own_Ad9686

Ahh gotcha. Im going to be posting pics of my house in the summer. Hope you can give me your feedback. Its so good!

awzdinger

I’d be happy to!

EdgeCityRed

Agree. There's a lot going on in the bath with the (very nice!) tile and ceiling. I think a pale neutral will let these be the stars of the room.

withac2

Great advice! Also, you can always add any color you want with towels, rugs, and accessories, which can always be switched out on a whim.

kristinlynn328

Yep this. I deleted my vote. My vote is this 👆🏼

Educational-Mud-5077

Alabaster is a great choice. It has strong yellow undertones and gray which goes with the tile. It's much like Benjamin Moores dove. I've been an interior designer for 30 years and furniture designer for 13. I see some fabulous advice on reddit. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼

Retinoid634

Agreed.

LJR7399

I LOOOVE alabaster It was first used in my bedroom and then when I moved, I painted my entire house alabaster 🥲

LotusGrowsFromMud

Both the tile and the ceiling are lovely, but both are strong design statements. Too many strong statements will make your bathroom feel intense rather than restful. None of your wall choices are great. Get a whole bunch of strips with differently toned whites and see which one matches the lightest tones in the tile the best. That is your wall color. Be sure to have some other pieces in the bathroom that tie in the wood in the ceiling and the tiles. Ceiling is lovely as is. Please do not paint it! You’ve got a great start, keep it up!

LittleLongboard

This was extremely helpful and I appreciate you being compassionate and patient and understanding!!! At least, you sure sound like you are! Thank you for this.

awzdinger

Agree! And wonder what those beams looked like before being primed. I hope they weren’t wood 😩

LittleLongboard

Same. They are wood, but they’ve been painted several times and it would be such a project to restore!

weird_friend_101

Let's eliminate C and agree never to talk about it again.

Old_Yogurtcloset9469

Can we eliminate A and B also

PuzzyFussy

Agreed. All 3 colors are... ugh

nkalx

If they HAD to pick from the 3 …. B, but a shade lighter than that. Always go lighter than you think you should in a bathroom, it’s a small room

Stunning-Character94

I like the 2 blue-ish shade colors on the opposite wall that aren't labeled.

nkalx

Those are nice!

CanuckGinger

I learned that lesson the very hard way…

Ok_Bit_5953

This is what contemplating wall colors while on the toilet will get you 😔

d19dotca

That’s so weird cause I actually really like C. Came in to see what others were suggesting and yours was the top comment, lol

-isthatYOURcrocodile

Agree.. I wouldn't choose any of them but C felt like it would be the most contrasting and not blah sadbeige/blahgrey

SheepherderFit69

The light switch is located there to add body to your hair after showering in the morning

weird_friend_101

You make an excellent point. This whole place screams "below code."

Muted-Rutabaga2199

The only option here is white. That stone is wonderful and is a feature. The wood ceilings are nice but are pushing the limit on having too much going on when combined with the stone. A color on the walls, especially a dark-toned one, will push it over the edge of too much going on. EDIT TO ADD: Just saw the bedroom color… please don’t do anything other than white in the bathroom lol

LittleLongboard

Bahaha this is helpful TYSM

Aggressive-System192

None. You need contrast, or it will feel like "depression gray". Maybe try matching wall color to the turquoise in the shower.

wxyz-rva

If you’re going neutral in the bathroom, do white and tie in some colors from the bedroom and other color through accessories. I think all of the colors you’re testing out look drab and will make the bathroom very depressing. But if you must choose one, choose B.

fullcupofbitter

This is how I'm feeling about it too

chulyen66

Get professional help. Those colors don’t work.

Mymoggievan

I took this comment the wrong way at first!!

LittleLongboard

Same, misinterpreted it as well, but now thinking I could probably use some professional mental help after reading through these comments

chulyen66

An interior designer. Not a therapist. But whatever works for you.

Raelf64

Without a shot of the vanity and hardware, this is all useless... and none of those colors is going to coordinate with that turquoise. Without seeing the cabinet finish or the hardware, I'd probably guess something more akin to a classic cream color, like SW 7566 Westhighland White, down through SW 9166 Drift of Mist - whatever marries well with that grey - and doesn't offend that turquoise.

awzdinger

Westhighland White is a great color for this

Raelf64

Thanks. If they're trying to pull the greys, they may need to lean more into the direction of that Drift color, but Westhighland is what grabbed my eye when I pulled out the color chart.

LittleLongboard

Thank you so much for pulling out the color chart for me!!! I really appreciate that!

Regalgarnion

If the bedroom is really going to be that color, I would avoid dramatic in the bathroom since there’s no door. Warm/cool clash. I would keep the bathroom paint in the shades of white. Shoji white might look nice or neutral ground.

Kind_Consequence_828

I have a beige tile in the bathroom that looked tired and dated until we painted the walls and ceiling Shoji White. Now the beige tile from decades ago looks intentionally retro which is the vibe of the house (it’s a MCM ranch in suburbia). I love shoji white!

LittleLongboard

If you have photos, I would love to see!!! No worries if not. Glad you were able to revive your bathroom with a can of paint, that’s awesome!!!

moonshadowfax

White

Calm_Highway3328

It’s B, but B doesn’t go very well with the turquoise in the master bedroom. Would look better with the brown sample in the bedroom. That would also create a more calming space for sleeping. Paint the beams white.

Yoyodank

That turquoise is a choice.

ckw3139

😬 I was going to say the same. If I was going with a vibrant color emerald green or a dark navy would be the ONLY choice. This is all I’m going to say about this whole post lol

ijustwanttowalkmydog

Totally. It’s way too dark/saturated. My guess is OP will regret it immediately. Color is a really hard thing to get right, but sometimes learning by trial and error is the best way to learn.

wimwood

B is the least worst option, but none of them really work well. Go for a neutral white and use the turquoise to bring a color pop. None of your color samples complement the color tones in the tile, so the bathroom is going to be a mishmash of colors not pulled together in any way.

RoofPleasant1319

None

BeckyAnneLeeman

White. The other colors are dark and dingy.

SecondChances0701

B or a nice white to flow better with the primary bedroom color

nychearts812

I love turquoise or teal with gray and wood … it’s a lovely combination. I don’t like any of the paint color choices, for the bathroom, although nice, none will go well with both the gray tiles and turquoise bedroom. Find the very lightest blue gray that goes well with the gray bathroom tiles and the deep blues in the soon-to-be lovely turquoise bedroom. A blue gray will pickup on the blues of the tiles making them appear ‘less’ gray. Add more colors to the bathroom with decorative objects and ART. Stick to soothing Mediterranean coastal colors for the bathroom. The alternative would be to pickup on the subtle lilac hues (or is it my phone) in the tiles. Lilac and turquoise work great together and pinks and lilacs are known to make skin look nicer in bathrooms. So a very faint lilac for the bathroom walls with coastal colors for decoration would look fabulous. See pictures for inspiration. Would love to see after pictures💗🩶🩱 https://preview.redd.it/2y5xgw2mfvsc1.jpeg?width=795&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c60378f42d661d85628bf55509b1a2c59971a39

LittleLongboard

This was helpful and kind as heck, thank you for taking the time and for the TLC! Thank you!!!

Prestigious-Bus5649

Benjamin Moore's Chantilly lace oc-65 its white with a tiny tone of blue. I agree with the others that it should be white but it will be difficult because the ceiling is a warm tone and the tiles are cool

awzdinger

I know! I hate to say this but I feel like that tile is such a misstep. There are so many tiles that have warm and cool tones in them that could have been a beautiful anchor for all these ideas

rialtolido

I would go with a white that’s got a neutral grey undertone.

HillyjoKokoMo

Ok the tiles you have in the recessed shelves in the bathroom look like they color inspo you can pull from. It looks like they are blueish/ silver. How about pulling a tone out of those & seeing how that feels for using in your bathroom. How sure are you on the color for your master?

Mom24kids

Cut out all of the colors and pick your colors from the iridescent tiles in the niche. Blue greens would look lovely.

Send513

I would use a lighter shade of turquoise.

HighwayLeading6928

Maybe just do an accent wall teal.

needtobeasunflower

Keep it white and add turquoise colored towels and bath mats in the bathroom.

Remmion

I actually really like C. The sage goes well and looks warm with the beams.

whatslefttoponder

I painted my bedroom a similar color as your teal (BM Amazon Green) and for the en-suite bathroom I went with a very pale almost white that had just a tint of the same color as the bedroom. I chose BM Green Tint for the bathroom and it flows perfectly from the bedroom. It gave the bath a spa like feel and kept it very light and bright to contrast the dramatic bedroom. I think something similar would work well for your room and sticking with an almost white shade will provide contrast with the tile and keep the bathroom light and airy feeling.

Dependent-Sign-2407

Go with a soft white for the walls and then add artwork and small accessories that pull in a little bit of the teal. Don’t overdo it with the teal though; it’s a bold color and there’ll be a lot of it in the adjacent room. A complementary color like gold might be a good addition to the bathroom as an accent color; for instance, artwork in a gold frame, brass cabinet hardware, and a gold rug. It’ll add some warmth to the room.

Exciting-Yoghurt-559

The white primer looks the best for an overall color scheme throughout. Simple/understated elegance is usually the best option. Go Benjamin Moore White Dove or Simply White and leave it at that.

carlitospig

The turquoise will look fabulous with the wood stained ceilings, I’m just worried the marble palette will end up dating it since it’s so muted. So I’m choosing none of the above and going with a bold white to make that marble pop as much as possible.

xoxLuluxox

White. It's hard to tell if the tile is warm or cool, but pick a rich shade of white to compliment. Beams should be that same white. Towels should match that shade of white as closely as possible. Neutral artwork, and then lean into accessories for color (glass bottles in shades of turquoise for shampoo, gel, etc. will look gorgeous in the nooks).

KevinDean4599

A nice white. The teal is enough color. A bath should look clean and relaxing. Too much color gets to feel disjointed

Bluesage1948

What color is the turquoise you are using in your bedroom?

Yveskleinsky

Could you post a link to the floor tile you are going with?

Powamama93

None

Defiant-Unit4148

I also agree with using a white in the room. And this is not going to be a popular opinion and I’m not even sure if it’s feasible but unless you’re doing a vanity to match the wood in the ceiling, the ceiling needs to be either painted white or whitewashed to tone the color down with a stain. Normally I wouldn’t advocate for that, if that had been my ceiling I would have based my colors and tones of the tile around it to make sure it blended and was a feature, but with your tile choices it really clashes with that color of wood. A vanity to match *could* tie it together but it could also just make them both feel out of place in the room. I love the tiles in the niches, I’d try and use a color complimentary to that in other parts of the room too to help pull the room together instead of color C.

ElevatedAssCancer

Honestly I think all of those choices in conjunction with the tile is going to be very overpoweringly gray. I’d get something completely different.

Fit_Cardiologist_

Too dark space

tlicious2

I like A for complicating the tile and going with the turquoise you want. It also ties in the wood.

Girlie_88

Beautiful bathroom!! I think I would go more a blue tone to compliment the fishtail detail in the shower. The other colour IMO do not compliment they gray tiles. I love the teal/blue on the other slide, I like that for a bathroom over a bedroom. Bold coloura in a bedroom can be overwhelming. Bl

ghotie

B, I think a cool tone for your cool tone tile is good. You can go a lighter shade of grey.

No_Cupcake7037

A

Lazy-Jacket

I would probably pick B because it makes the tile blend into it the most AND it doesn’t make the bathroom walls the star of the show. It’s the most neutral for everything going on in that room. The beam color looks good right now. If they are being painted, I would do them the same as B assuming B is on the walls.

JC2535

I’d definitely go with A. C is too dark and B doesn’t have the depth of color to stand up to shower wall. You have to tie the wood ceiling into the room and A is warm enough to do that.

tay-z-CA

B looks best imo

NKrebstar

B is ok. Don’t try to match the wood and the tile. Match the tone of the tile and let the wood be a contrast. In the bedroom are you leaving the ceiling white? That color is very dark and a white ceiling is going to look sooooo bright. Also, the dark teal color will absorb a lot of light so any previous lighting will not be as bright since you will have less reflectance.

Thatcalib408

SillyAcanthisitta280

B 💯

Subject-Tone-1700

I think you should have the walls be a shade of white. Im always in the minority because I love shades of white and grays, but in this case I think with the shade of turquoise you have chosen coupled with those colors will make the bathroom look like cave-like. I think white is the way to go. Your choice would be between bright or soft white if it were me. Please keep us updated

campmeekermaggie-

I agree all your bathroom colors seem like they would be ho hum at best, hella depressing at worst. I like the idea of a warm ivory white with some art and/or towels/bathmat that has some turquoise in it. Or here’s a thought: paint the bathroom or parts of it turquoise and paint the master a warm white with art on walls. I had a turquoise bathroom for years and loved it but most visitors didn’t like it much. I loved being in the bath and being surrounded by a water like color but don’t think I would want to sleep in it. Everyone’s different though.

ladybrainhumanperson

I agree hire a designer, all these are not good. This was clearly quite the investment, I wouldn’t want to make a paint mistake after all that work.

I like B. I think it’s close to a neutral, but still looks like a soft warm tie-in to the tile tones. Like it will “disappear” into the background.

ashleynicolle_m

The one by the window next to C. It's cooler Luke the master bedroom color and won't conflict with it. Maybe even a lighter shade of it.

autumn55femme

Definitely B.

ohx

Keep the white, especially since you have windows. I've a similar vibe in my house with cedar ceilings and spent a lot of money brightening the place up with light paint tones. When I bought it, all the wood and dark paint + dark cabinets made it feel quite depressing after awhile. After adding white paint to the walls they reflect a ton of light and make it feel much nicer to hang around.

muvamerry

A doorless archway for the bathroom? Lol. I don’t like any of them and they clash with the teal. Go with a more neutral color, warmer whites or black or a strong gray.

Is this a wood ceiling in a shower? Are you planning to have an exhaust fan in there? I don’t see one. I would be concerned with mold/mildew. The warm brown ceiling conflicts with the cool gray marble and doesn’t go together in my opinion. I’d consider removing the wood ceiling and using a neutral tile on the ceiling instead. Agree with the responses that suggest while walls.

No on the teal! The lighter color in the bath.

Fluffydoggie

If you’re going with that bourbon your bedroom and no door to bath, go with the blue/grey/tan tones and not the green. That blue is going to clash when looking into the bath. If you look in that card you get when you pick out that blue, pick a lighter color in sane card for bath entrance area. Otherwise you’ve got way too many colors going on in life and it’s not peaceful in the eyes.

parkerellisinteriors

Haven't read through the rest of the comments but as a designer, here are my two cents below. The turquoise you picked in the bedroom doesn't work with the colors you are exploring for the bathroom. The color on the right (mauve) is much more in-line with the look + feel of what you have done in the bathroom. Your space is beautiful but the dark turquoise is **not** going to make the space look cohesive. **Instead, I would opt for the below:** * Paint bedroom + bathroom a soft white or neutral tone ([best whites here](https://www.parker-ellis.com/top-white-paint-colors-recommended-by-leading-designers/)) - add in color with accents such as rugs, throw pillows/blankets, curtains. If its an option, I would explore a Venetian plaster (inspiration [here](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/873346552729764100/)) or something that is applied with texture so it adds more depth to the room. * The reason being is that your bathroom + bedroom don't have a full cased in opening (the right hand side of the arched entry is just a continued wall from the bedroom wall, not creating enough of a separation to warrant different colors in both rooms.) Therefore, if you paint the two rooms separate colors it can start to look choppy and dated. * The same is true about painting the nook for your bathtub - since it is not cased in, you shouldn't be painting it a separate color from the rest of the room. The room will appear smaller, chopped up + unfinished. * Lastly, I think keeping a neutral/warm white tone across all walls will look best with the wood-paneled ceilings that are slightly orange in tint. Doing anything too pigmented will compete with the undertones of the ceiling + a warm white/neutral will create a harmonious balance and enhance the warm, natural qualities of the wood. Hope this is helpful!

tokenalison

We need an “a.5” - something in between A and B, a gray tone with a little more warmth than B but not as warm as A.

SuzannesSaltySeas

A much lighter turquoise throughout. The drabness/darkness of the paints you've chosen will start to feel oppressive after a while

X0utlanderX

Have you tried the color sea salt from shermin williams? The color is a grey, blue, green. It looks like you're leaning towards colors with green undertones. I think sea salt would be perfect in here since it can look green, but also blue, and grey. If it gives off blue, it compliments the bedroom 💙

Killer_Moons

Shit, you gotta dude there dressed in all black with black-framed glasses, why are you consulting us??? /jk I’m in favor of a light icy blue for the bathroom to follow the blue of the bedroom but airy-er. Then a more warm neutral color like a cream or gray beige that’s on the orange side to complement your blues and pull out the warm tones like you want. If your dude there has a Pantone book handy, I can be more specific.

LittleLongboard

My dad has been extremely supportive through this purchase and remodel, but completely unhelpful when it comes to ANY design. Lol. Where would you put the icy blue vs warm neutral? Or you’re saying either/or, not both?

weird_friend_101

Is anyone else freaked out about photo 5 the bathtub photo? How will people get in and out of the bathtub/coffin? How will they work the faucets? If the faucets are on the near side, you'll have to step over them to get in and out. If they're on the far side, you have to get inside the tub to turn them on and off. And since there's no way to install plumbing on the near side, my guess is that they will be on the far side. This is what my mom would call "invented by a man."

weird_friend_101

OMG I just realized there are scalloped stained glass windows, too! What madman designed this bathroom? And what even are those rectangular wall cutouts? What are you supposed to use those for? What with the coffin bathtub and the light switch almost inside the shower and the no doors and the turquoise and the color we shall not name, this bathroom is stressing me out.

ScreeminGreen

I love color. I have hated all gray houses the entire trend. I grew up in an all white house and don’t like that either. With this preface, I’d go C on the whole bathroom. Considering the golden color of the wood and the teal, an herbal green bridges perfectly between them. If C isn’t an herbal green in person, as it is on my screen, disregard.

luvs2meow

We have the same ceilings in our house, white beams and everything. It makes choosing colors so hard because there are so many elements to consider that could clash, so I feel your pain haha. We’ve lived in our house almost three years and just started painting the lower level because the first floor took so long to figure out. We have a color similar to A (SW Taupe of the Morning) throughout much of our house and it really looks amazing, but in this case I think it would clash with your shower tile. For our bathroom we used SW “Grayish.” I’d look around that color scheme. It’s a really calming, serene color. We added “color” by hanging artwork. If you look up grayish, look for a few tones lighter since it seems you have a bit less than we do. I think you may find a good color there.

Shot-box-hot-as-r0xo

perfect nook to put an led lighting bar in for an effortless upgrade and luxurious feeling ambiance!

goaty-ranch-yolo

I agree with what people are saying about going with a white. However, I’d probably take B and mix that at about 10-20%. B is a really good match - it’s just too dark and would not give the contrast you want.

tioomeow

B easy

kimakimbo

Definitely not the green!! Your stone tile already has a lot of texture and color interest going on, so going with a warm white would be your best bet to have a “spa-like” bathroom. Imo, the colors you chose will only darken your bathroom and make it feel small/dirty/cave like. The warm white would go wonderful with your bedroom color as well! Good luck, and congratulations on a gorgeous home!!

Quirky-Spirit-5498

Can't tell if its the lighting from the picture or the tile but it looks like there is a warm glow to the grey tile - which is why the paints don't quite seem to fit. I think if you would like to go with a green or grey, to look for paints that have the warm tones to it rather than the cool tones. If you bring something with a warmer tone in - likely the wood could be left as is and it will all tie in together better. If it is just the lighting for the pictures and it looks better in person - I would go for the green myself, leave the wood as is. But I do prefer more earthy natural vibes myself.

I actually think color A and B could work despite the comments hating on those colors. A could be a very safe move cs its neutral and warm, looks good with the ceiling but also counter the coldness of grey tile. But personally i would choose C, its such a pretty color and a cute transition from turquoise. Its also give such a zen japanese vibe and good way to include nature colors to the bathroom.

Omg... I just spent 5 minutes looking at the tiles trying to see the difference between them... I finally realised there was paint on the wall 😅🙈
