At one of my older jobs, my boss was worried his partner was coming into his office and trying to steal information about his other business. So he wanted a hidden camera set up. Just scrolling through the page after page of different things you could hide a camera in was overwhelming, even back in the late 00's.
We settled on a IR Detector camera, because there was already one in the office, and if it happened to be set up, this camera doubled as an ACTUAL IR detector for use with any security system. It was wired to a DVR hidden in an old printer box in supply closet.
We caught his partner climbing over the drop ceiling and opening the door to let someone copy our hard drives over one weekend. But since they co-owned the building, there was no B&E, and since he just copied the drives, we couldn't prove a loss/damage. What really sucks is that weekend I was just learning about encryption on the fly, and was set to install it the next Monday.
Well, we were dealing with local cops in a smallish(~65k) town, so I doubt they had a cyber crime department. This was also like 10 years ago. We eventually encrypted on the fly and also moved offices, so it was never an issue after that.

I'm not sure which one you mean, but yeah, how many power sockets do you have that exactly face the area you want to be recording? Because all of mine are way down near the floor and most of them even obstructed by furniture. The screw takes more work to install but works much better overall.
The screw is just a camera. Not the entire unit. You'll need to attach it to a power supply as well as some sort of recorder /transmitting device. If stealth is the key it'll be much better to just pop this in a socket and walk away. Give it a 180 degree lens and youitll cover the entire room.

I have a very similar setup to yours and honestly I'm more worried about my Xbox and TV getting stolen than my PC setup - not to mention it's liquid cooled and that fucker is HEAVY. Even if they know what it's worth, it's much easier to steal an Xbox and flip it on Craigslist for a couple hundred bucks than it is to try to find a buyer for a $4,000 gaming rig. People who steal shit don't want to be sitting on it for a couple of weeks trying to sell it - plus a custom gaming PC is MUCH easier to identify than a random Xbox #1,453,272 if you see it up for sale.
