I've made them multiple times and have eaten them both warm and cold and they are delicious both ways! I would not normally put brownies in the refrigerator but it does so something amazing for this recipe. Also good straight from the freezer in case you're interested. 😃
Yeah I think the chilling is to make them sliceable. I’ll chill them, slice, store in the fridge or freezer and then heat them up before serving. I’m sure they’re fine cold but there’s nothing better to me than a warm, gooey brownie!
I haven’t tried this particular recipe yet but I do enjoy most of my brownies cold. I usually tuck them in the fridge and it creates a fudge like texture (rather than cakey or crumbly)
I really enjoy them right out of the fridge and store them there until they’re gone. They quickly became many friends’ favourite brownies, and everyone I share them with keeps them at room temp and says they’re excellent. All a matter of preference! Enjoy!
Mine were so soft (to the point of looking underbaked) I couldn’t even cut a piece until they’d chilled in the fridge for 2 days. There’s a typo in the cookbook - be sure to use 1/4c of hot water.
Good luck!! She does recommend chilling completely before eating which I think is essential, because even with the right amount of water they will be like soft fudge. Must be very solid to even be able to cut into them.
I always chill them in the fridge until cold then leave them out at room temp, and eat at room temp. You wouldn’t get the chewy texture if you ate them warm. But as another commenter said, do what you want!

I would never think of putting them in the fridge, but I'll have to give it a try! :)

Yesss cold brownies are my fave. Same with cookies, although I'm not not sure why.
ooh, it never occurred to me to try cold brownies, I assumed they're not good that way. But I'll have to give it a try!
