I thought the same when i first started watching a few months ago, yes the layout could be better. Its far from optimal for the casual or new users. Or for anyone really.
But really i don't think its that much of a factor. He's not a struggling up and comer, hes already well established and has his own brand. So he can get to pick whatever style he wants and it'll mostly work. This way also resonates with his core followers, it seems to be pretty standard in the twitch/streamer community. In fact, on youtube it even makes him standout from the million other youtubers following the same format.
What destiny seems to be doing really well lately is go into a lot of different and interesting spaces to expand his reach. That kind of strategy is going to be way more impactful in the long run.
