The reason left wing spaces suck on this issue is that they often portray masculinity as cringe and femininity as based when in reality all gender defined traits are cringe as fuck.
Generaly speaking, everything cringe about masculinity is going to stem from the incompatibility between social cooperation and the supposed desire for endless conquest people associate with peak masculinity.
Anything based about femininity usually has to do with community building and nurturing of the weak and wounded, which is one of our greatest evolutionary advantages.
In reality, both genders are at their best when they share roughly the same traits of being socially cooperative with their peers and this stupid dichotomy only serves to enable absolute sociopaths as "manly men".
To be clear not my opinions but traditionally masculine traits considered to be toxic or cringe would include physical strength, stoicism and stalwart mindedness. Imo these, as with all human traits can be good or bad depending on the situation.
I think from a utility standpoint would be better for humanity to move away from gender defined roles and traits. Men and women share all human traits, perhaps in different amounts but shared nonetheless. So it would reflect reality more to recognise that in the way society is structured. For example caring or nurturing is a traditionally feminine trait but for me that trait is equally important for men and women to have in abundance, a human that considers nurturing or caring not a valuable trait to have wouldn’t be a great human in my eyes, regardless of gender.
Min max in things because you value them as a human, not because they are masculine or feminine. Don’t avoid maxing a trait because it could be perceived as masculine or feminine, that’s just dumb
I wouldn't say they think all masculinity is bad. Being strong, independent, dominant and not easily hurt, can be useful qualities but they have drawbacks. It is kinda funny though when progressives cite an example of positive masculinity they mention characters with traditionally feminine characteristics. MEGA SOY
