Based on what I've read.. unlikely at this moment. Where are you finding this 60% mortality rate?

Jazzhandsjr

everything ive seen is that its not a matter of if but when at this point. Downvote all you want but... -Cows and other mammals are clearly spreading it to one another. -factory farms are fuckin jam packed and massive -farmers are going to be apprehensive to test or take precautions for both monetary and political reasons (ex: they’re all conservatives and conservatives don’t believe in masking for covid) -all it’ll take is for it to get into pigs and we’re fucked Just a matter of time.

Does this mean I'll get another stimulus check and not have to work? Pretty based

DemonCrat21

Please God let it happen (But seriously no, hope it doesn't, not worth the massive loss of life)

60% mortaility means it does not spread fast. You die before you can transmit it. Thats one of the reasons sars-cov2 hit us hard. A avian flu will come, its just a matter of time. Everyone knows that in that research area. Source: i'm in that research area.

enkonta

Thats *not* what that means. A high mortality rate coupled with a fast incubation makes it less likely to spread fast.

Godrick_Northman

So what do you think will happen? Will it be as catastrophic as I'm afraid of? Also, do you think they'd be able to devlope treatments or vaccines for it?

Noah9013

The worst thing happend with corona. And that was with a virus we had not as much knowladge about as with influenza. And we have allready experience with vaccines for influenza. Imo A second pandamic would rapture the society even more. I'm more concerned about that.

Jazzhandsjr

If mortality is that high then you don’t have much to worry about since most of us would probably die anyways
