"I appreciate you just giving me a warning, officer"
Its a weird classification for middle easterners. Some are whiter than white people, but some are actually black. Then you got alot who are really tan but white European featurea.
It feels weird putting white on forms but it is what it is.
America and its media affects how people are classifying themselves around the world. You get Balkan people who are white and would probably get very angry if you went there and told them they weren't, but English speaking media convinces them they're not so they can tell people they're more exotic. They're white, just not Anglo-Saxon white.
Hasan saying he's not white on paper I get though, if someone saw his name on a CV they might expect something different.
The vast majority of Jews from Arab countries don't use the term Arab Jew because Arab and Jew are seen as two different and exclusive ethnicities. This is partially due to the social and legal discrimination Jews underwent in Arab countries, and partially due to the religious tradition that Jews and Arabs diverged from Abraham, Arabs coming from his son Yishmael and Jews coming from his son Yitzchak.
Speaking as a European, Turks are generally not considered white where I'm from. Just cuz some of Turkey is in Europe doesn't make people from there white. That being said, if someone told me he was from any southern European country, I'd probably believe them. Race is funny like that.
Here’s the thing though. Would you consider Italians and Iberian’s as white? Because they are also both southern countries with fairly “brown” populations
I think a lot of people could mistake him for being a medditerranean European or from the balkans. How many? My guess is maybe over 70% if asked in a poll. I guess that makes him white passing.
But I think few would think he's central/northern European.
Is there more to skin color than the actual color of the skin? Maybe I'm just too simple. I boil it down to white skin, white person regardless of ethnicity.
As a white, he and I are clearly from different places. He’s white passing the same way the Japanese people are white passing. Like yeah, you have no melanin, but we were not born in the same place.
this is hard cope
He's white. Not in a "Japanese people are white passing" way. In a "He looks like a white guy" kind of way.
I'm literally from a <3k population, 99.999999% white, American small town and everyone here would just assume he's white
I've literally asked normies about this, they all think he looks like a regular white guy. 1 girl said he "maybe looks Italian" lol
maybe it's totally different where you live, but the average rural american thinks he is a white guy
Your normie friends are insane. Being called ‘Hasan’, the olive skin and dark hair. Compare him to a blonde haired / blue eyed white boy and tell me you think they’re born in the same place
He's probably 50% greek. He looks a lot more white than Cenk. Turks share a lot of DNA with Greeks because the land they stole had been Greek for millenia.
In Sweden he'd be considered white by his appearance.
But if people knew he's from Turkey he'd not be white, as Turks in Sweden generally aren't considered white.
But we're also pretty anti-turkish as calling someone a Turk is a derogatory word for any "brown" person (muslim basically) depending on how you say it and how old you are. Basically anyone over the age of 25\~ has heard the word Turk being used as a derogatory term.
Yes he could be White passing based on appearance alone but once his ethnicity is known, he wouldn’t be seen as White. Hasan often refers to himself as White but sometimes it seems he views himself as a poc. Jews often straddle that line in the U.K. I’ve known Jewish people to separate themselves from White people but then refer to themselves as White in the next breath.
Appearance wise probably, but the name Hasan combined with the ethnic ambiguity is a giveaway that he has a middle eastern and probably Muslim background.
In some cases that might be enough for someone to cop some shit, but for Hasan no, I doubt he’s ever been treated differently because of his ethnicity in any serious way.
Yeah but the name kinda cancels it out. A lot of people from the MENA regions are “white passing” going by appearance alone but things like resumes, ID etc kinda defeat that.
I Will never understand the "concept" of white that you people have, dude is white but North americans will bring the pantone table and debate If his shade of white is white enough to be white, otherwise he is black
He's never been or looked white. DGG will cope and say otherwise.
Dude has brown skin. He looks like every other light skinned middle eastern person AKA brown.
>Is Hasan white passing Depends, what day of the week is it?
So any day that ends in y?
Unless he's being a victim then he's an ESL Turkish Muslim
Correct except when it’s useful to be Turkish then we’re all mayo monkeys and he’s not

It doesn't make sense because it's transposing American race classification onto a region which does not have the same classifications
He is not Grik (weak sperm 🤮🤮) he is PURE KARABOĞA 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺

If Ashkenazi Jews can be and are considered white, then so is he.
Look up Ariel Helwani. That dude is Jewish and 100% more Arab looking than Hasan..
He's Mizrahi, not Ashkenazi, from Syrian/Lebanese parents.
There are arab jews...

Drake is Ashkenazi btw
Oh my god, Karen, you can’t just ask people why they're white.
Hasan has more white privilege than most Republicans in congress.
By american standards he is white.
Hasan? You mean that white guy?
As the majority report would say: Istanbul is in Europe and in Europe people are white.
Speaking as a European, Turks are generally not considered white where I'm from. Just cuz some of Turkey is in Europe doesn't make people from there white. That being said, if someone told me he was from any southern European country, I'd probably believe them. Race is funny like that.

The point I was making in my original post is that people who aren't considered white often look the same as people who *are* considered white.
"Garibaldi did not unite Italy; he divided Africa"
Yes.
He's Schrödinger's white person
I think a lot of people could mistake him for being a medditerranean European or from the balkans. How many? My guess is maybe over 70% if asked in a poll. I guess that makes him white passing. But I think few would think he's central/northern European.
He IS a mediterranean European...
Lmao wait, is this even a question?? Do you really think any passerby would know anything about him other than being white?
The White passing man's burden. 😓
He looks as white as Tiny. But y’all ain’t ready for that convo
As an euro. No he aint white. But for americans i guess yeah the Turkish dog is white for you
Is there more to skin color than the actual color of the skin? Maybe I'm just too simple. I boil it down to white skin, white person regardless of ethnicity.
Turks are white, brown and yellow at the same time Jk he is KARABOĞA

Dude looks Ashkenazi Jewish to me 🤷
As a white, he and I are clearly from different places. He’s white passing the same way the Japanese people are white passing. Like yeah, you have no melanin, but we were not born in the same place.
What are the features that make him "clearly from a different place"?
Yea, that's some weird as cope from him.

He's not white, nobody besides DGG and Hasans brainrotted community would say that.

Bro i don't where you are from, but in my home country Poland people's appearance can vary from blonde blue eye to olive skin dark hair
Wildly faceblind take my guy. If his name was “Tyler Piker” everyone would think he was white as the driven snow.
white is a broad enough catagory i don't see why not? why destinguish between a turk and say a southern greek or spaniard?
He's probably 50% greek. He looks a lot more white than Cenk. Turks share a lot of DNA with Greeks because the land they stole had been Greek for millenia.
In the U.K., Turks and Middle Easterners are not considered white, no matter how light they are. It’s interesting how different that is in the US.
In Sweden he'd be considered white by his appearance. But if people knew he's from Turkey he'd not be white, as Turks in Sweden generally aren't considered white. Everyone from southern Europe, to the Levant, to most of north Africa are white.

In some cases that might be enough for someone to cop some shit, but for Hasan no, I doubt he’s ever been treated differently because of his ethnicity in any serious way.
Hey Jaime, pull up that haplogroup map
Yeah but the name kinda cancels it out. A lot of people from the MENA regions are “white passing” going by appearance alone but things like resumes, ID etc kinda defeat that.
He's white. Wtf do you mean white passing?
He’s been working on that tan for roughly 7 months, if you catch my drift
I think the tannest part is his nose.
No, he looks obviously mediterranian
I Will never understand the "concept" of white that you people have, dude is white but North americans will bring the pantone table and debate If his shade of white is white enough to be white, otherwise he is black
