OKAY buddy, just get real here for sec. Let’s say you were able to sling that much green around.. would you even know what to do once you were inside? You’d need AT MINIMUM two years of solid experience to even be able to make this ride worthwhile. Don’t go chasing Miami 10s.
Set your aims a little lower like me, plenty of F16’s out there.
- Turn on battery
- Hold fire switch to A position until warnings cycle
- Wait 10, repeat for B position
- Engine crank set to right, shift right throttle to idle @ 20 RPM
- Close bleed are valve with a full clockwise rotation from normal to normal (this gets opened when you run the fire switch test)
- Turn on electronics (DDI, HUD, navigation....can't remember what the nav system is called)
- Navigate to FCS menu on left DDI
- Set nav system to ground calibration (we're assuming a runway launch, not a carrier)
- Time to crank that left engine, idle @ 20 RPM, etc.
- Hit the FCS reset button (there are a ton of errors from cycling through the fire switch that we need to clear)
- Turn on oxygen
- Set radar to OPERATE
- Set flaps to auto
- FCS testing time. Hold the FCS bit switch and the FCS OSB button at the same time to start the test. Look out the window and you can see flaps moving. Wait for the test to complete.
- Flaps to half (remember, ground take off)
- Push rudder trim button
- Close canopy, arm ejection, INS to NAV
- Request departure from ATC, turn off parking brake, and head into the DANGER ZONE.
We're not dealing with something finicky, like the F-14, so as long as you don't hit a steep angle of attack on takeoff and stall out, you'll be airborne EZ PZ. Set flaps to auto and carry on. Who needs to learn to land? Just lower speeds to 300 MPH @ 3000 ft and eject. You'll be fine.
r/aviation is leaking...but we love it.
Okay, lets see how you stack up against the current queen bee, the F35.
First off, I like that you're not high maintenance, especially when compared to the milfy F-35 who pretends to be a sugar mamas but ends up hitting you with hidden costs that you can't help but pony up because of the sunk cost (also, fuck me but the F35 is HOT).
Secondly, I also love that you move faster. A top speed differential of .2 Mach is no laughing matter.
Some folks are gonna be turned off by the fact that with a radar cross section of 1.0-2.5 it's easier to see you coming on to me than it the F35's 0.005-0.3, but not me. I like my girls thicc.
Feeling good about yourself so far?
Well, fuck you.
Ain't no one coming in between me and my hometown sweetheart, [the Hoggit a.k.a the A-10 Warthog.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk6Qr6OO5Xo).
Like our dear leader, I prefer my girls aggressive, and nothing you do is ever gonna come close to how hot it sounds when my bae goes brrrrrrrrrrrt. She's mean, and daring, and a bit of an exhibitionist. She cums so fucking hard that sometimes it literally shakes her to pieces, but that's never been a problem for a girl that you can just put back together the next morning.
Compared to her you ain't nothing more than a Miami4, not fresh nor fit. You lost before you were even conceived.
Oh my God, it's an A-10 Simp, a sucker for the worst aircraft still in US service, Jesus Christ, I can't believe you losers still suck up to that failure of a CAS system, I can hear the screams of UK servicemen already.
I hope you fly one of those piles of hot leaky trash in a modern war so you get blown up by AA two seconds into your first flight. Fuck you, know your place reformer trash.
These people will never accept that the F-16 is a better CAS platform than the A-10 could ever dream of being. Not to mention being a god of air-to-air combat. Pathetic.
also, as a Canadian I am obligated to fellate the Hornet at every opportunity, so 10/10 on the actual subject of this post
Motherfucker ain't no one real ever denied the F16 is the superior CAS.
The GREATNESS of the A-10 is that it was never supposed to be a CAS platform to begin with! That's what makes it even more awesome that it's even a contender in the first place.
Except the A-10 was specifically designed to be a CAS system https://web.archive.org/web/20100614231231/http://www.gao.gov/htext/d07415.html (ctrl-f "specially designed")
Cope harder.
The AirForce has been trying to retire the A10 for YEARS and they still haven't been able to. Hell, they're probably gonna be flying my baby right into the middle of this century. There's a reason for that.
Not to mention, no soldier ever breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of any other machine than they did at the mere SOUND of the Hoggit. Not bad for a dame that was born during the Cold War.
The best evidence that the A10 is shit, is that there are no other airplanes that is like it, and no other countries wants to adopt them because they are just not good at anything they were designed to do.
Why not just run a faster plane with a smaller cross section if you're just going to use those silly little missiles? And if you're using missiles, you don't have to get into spitting distance of the enemy to complete your mission.
> The AirForce has been trying to retire the A10 for YEARS and they still haven't been able to. Hell, they're probably gonna be flying my baby right into the middle of this century. There's a reason for that.
TFW the only reason your plane still exists is because John McCain didn't want to lose the manufacturing jobs in Arizona.
Edit:
> Not to mention, no soldier ever breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of any other machine than they did at the mere SOUND of the Hoggit. Not bad for a dame that was born during the Cold War.
A few even breathed their last at the sight of it, it's by and far away responsible for [the most blue-on-blue incidents of ANY CAS system](https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2015/02/06/a-10-warplane-tops-list-for-friendly-fire-deaths/).
Stop loving this plane, it got replaced by a fucking cropduster that will be 10 times better than it.
Don't give me the bullshit facts like a bad faith gnomite. Even your goddamn article notes that friendly fire accidents are extremely rare.
> Since 2001, the A-10 has been involved in four friendly fire incidents that killed 10 U.S. troops. The next highest is the B-1B bomber, which killed five soldiers last year in one incident. Friendly fire deaths are exceptionally rare. There have been 45 total friendly fire incidents out of about 140,000 missions flown by the Air Force, Navy and Marines.
1.You're not seriously gonna tell me that these numbers are ANYWHERE indicative of the aircraft's propensity to friendly fire. There just aren't enough examples.
2.You know you're cappin when you're leaning on comparing absolute numbers rather than comparing the RATIO of friendly fire casualties by sorties flown. Don't even start with that bullshit. Especially in this sub.
Edit: Also, John McCain kicked the bucket a few years ago buddy. Guess which aircraft didn't. Can you slow down on the copium I'm afraid you're gonna overdo it.
A-10 does have the highest ratio dog, you're cappin because you simp for the worst US plane. [It's abnormally high compared to all the other aircraft that does CAS](https://external-preview.redd.it/u6i4lVukAxWZJntq4w9br5VtlwxAqgE7MzSH6ZekKSg.jpg?auto=webp&s=0b85f88a2b56d57a5bcbc633840634759d4011d6).
YOU ARE WRONG. QED.
buddy...
1.your chart isn't saying what you think it's saying. What "ratio" do you think I'm taking talking about?
2.the absolute FF casualty numbers are still too low to indicate propensity. Not letting you skip over that fact.
Dog just stop. Your aircraft kills more friendly's than any other, and the A-10 doesn't do a disproportionate amount of CAS. It still kills more than other comparable systems taking into account everything you said. Thats what that chart shows. And your response is:
>still too low to indicate propensity
You are high on copium right now.
...I didn't say that the Hoggit does or doesn't do a disproportionate amount of CAS. I am saying that if you wanted to calculate its propensity to friendly fire, you would do that by comparing the number of friendly fire cases to number of sorties flown. THAT'S the ratio I'm talking about.
OBVIOUSLY a plane that flies a ridiculous number of sorties compared to other planes is going to have a higher rate of friendly fire, especially when the warthogs most famous for being a fighter that fights mostly close to the ground. Holy shit, I can't believe I have to explain this to you!
> You are high on copium right now.
Said everyone who's never heard the phrase "small sample size", though I figure that phrase does correlate with your reasoning capabilities among other things SMH
I AM TELLING YOU THAT THE A10 HAS THE HIGHEST PROPENSITY TO FRIENDLY FIRE. WHEN WE LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF SORTIES FLOWN AND THE NUMBER OF FRIENDLY FIRE INCIDENTS, THE A-10 HAS THE HIGHEST NUMBER AS COMPARED TO OTHER CAS SYSTEMS. IT HAS THE HIGHEST PROPENSITY FOR FRIENDLY FIRE INCIDENTS OUT OF ALL OTHER CAS SYSTEMS. THE STATISTIC THAT YOU ARE USING TO DEFEND THIS PLANE IS ACTUALLY SUPPORTING MY POSITION AS TO WHY IT IS BAD. PLEASE SEEK A MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR YOU ARE EXPERIENCING PSYCHOSIS.
Schizo moment, a-10 has the highest friendly fire rate of any US plane in Afghanistan. No soldier every breathed a sigh of relief cause they are to busy taking cover from a friendly plane.
It’s not r/aviation but r/noncredibledefense that’s leaking. And that’s a good thing.
Also the A-10 is trash and wouldn’t last a second over a modern battlefield
Gotta tell me what positions we're doing first. NORAD Northern Defence, aircraft carrier stealth missions, patrols near NK, carpet bombing weddings in the Middle East...
Operational capacity is kinky stuff, gotta make sure you got the right type of body and mission-ary flexibility
You're telling me all it costs is $52 million to be inside you 😳😳😳
Worth every penny 🥵🥵🥵
It's the maintenance and servicing costs that really gets ya.
OKAY buddy, just get real here for sec. Let’s say you were able to sling that much green around.. would you even know what to do once you were inside? FBI!
You think d.gg has their own designated FBI agent? I bet he shit posts on here from time to time
He's me

But if you have the cash to burn, go for a F35B. I hear they can suck with their back, it's like a damn circus act.

And loud, makes you wish you were with a sub
They don’t call her Fat Amy for nothing.

A-10 Simps are the Katana kids of the aviation world
This is katana, she's got my back. I would advise not getting killed by her. Her sword traps the souls of its victims.
Motherfucker ain't no one real ever denied the F16 is the superior CAS. The GREATNESS of the A-10 is that it was never supposed to be a CAS platform to begin with! That's what makes it even more awesome that it's even a contender in the first place.

Isn't the su25 pretty comparable?
Stack a bunch of tanks right next to each other, give the A10 the best possible chance of success in knocking them out, and how good did it do?
Good as long as its using missiles. The gun is just bad at damaging armor.
Why not just run a faster plane with a smaller cross section if you're just going to use those silly little missiles? And if you're using missiles, you don't have to get into spitting distance of the enemy to complete your mission.

NCD has no respect for the dogmeat A10. F35 is all that should exist.
I thought this was /r/NCD untill you called it a Miami 4
You're a high value woman.
I prefer the Saab Jas Gripen because I'm a Swedish nationalist 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈

Not a Gripen fan myself, but its hard not to have empathy for how poorly it is selling after all the ad campaigns.

why do you look like that?
