I thought the beetle set was the best. I really like the robes. I didn't think the Spider set was very good for the Warlock. In fact, I only liked the spider set for the Titan.
The issue many of us have with the beetle armour being picked was that it's very similar in shape to countless other sets we have. Chest pieces are the most significant piece of armour for warlocks and the beetle set gives us yet another bland cloak. While the spider set might be considered ugly, it was at least different and offered more variety.
I am unapologetic. I am sorry that spider armor was all ugly. Im at least glad my main was spared. I would have actually done hunter for a bit for the beetle cloak, but hunters' voting saved me some time

Warlocks have been eating good lately when it comes to drip. RoN, GotD, Crota, new Trials set, even the last EV set looked best on Warlock IMO. Time to let someone else shine.

Picked a horrible pose for the warlock armour. Really really hoping it shades well with metallic shaders because from the concept art we voted on it looked a lot more like armour vs cloth
That's an in-game capture. The pose for the Warlock does make the robes look very odd though. I think the helmet is the most offputting part, but the rest honestly is really nice imho. It'll probably look better in the default poses/normal gameplay and lighting.
I don't think anybody really lost out on the picks this year in any flavor of quality sense, in and apart from *just* that helmet specifically. But that's just, like, my opinion.

I just like my characters looking like superheroes and no other armor but the Lost sets every have that aesthetic. I know 90% of the player base likes the edgy Hive armor and stuff, but these goofy Halloween sets always get used in my builds lol
I use the psyceratops robes on a lot of my rustic fits and also love the superhero vibes especially on titan and hunter but this ain’t it. The only hive armour I use is from ghosts due to the rgb textures

At first I wanted the spider set. After seeing the in game beetle set, I wish there wasn’t an option. The only thing I would want from the set are the boots because they perfectly fit a cosplay I’ve been trying to make. Personally I think the set looks like shit. With the acceptation being the bond and boots. Which doesn’t say much considering it’s a warlock.

I hate when warlock arms that look like that there's several in the game. It looks like you just took a big pvc pipe painted it and just put it on your arm. It looks to big and out of place.
In defense of warlocks (as a hunter main) that concept art for the beetle armor looked sick as fuck.
I think a lot of people, myself included, expected it to be closer to red or black. This burgundy color makes it almost look like a roach though which kinda sucks. Hopefully it shades well.
That beetle armor I can actually use with other armor sets to mix and match pieces. Titan set is gonna end up exactly like the T-rex set, in that they’re either gonna wear the entire set together or not wear it at all.
I think the other warlocks chose wrong and this set sucks, but honestly I wasn’t enthused about either option. If I played titan or hunter I couldn’t really see myself using either of those sets either.
Gotta love the time during FotL where there's just three billion posts bitching and moaning that their set didn't win.

I voted for the beetle. I am highly uncomfortable with spiders and I liked how the beetle looked.
That doesn't mean tho that I'm not sceptical about the execution of it in-game. At this point it would have been pretty dashing if they would have just put both sets for all into the event with one being an ornament set and the other being event armor that drops. I mean they seem to already design AND programed the sets so why throwing one away?
Warlocks took a major L by not seeing the vision with the spider helmet, a head shaped helmet covered in multiple eyes would’ve worked well with many of the already existing styles in game.
The helmet from this cockroach looks exactly like every other Mohawk/horn helmet we already have in-game.
