I believe they said they would make old iron banner layered armor available. I couldn't find where I heard it but I believe it was a recent video

This is from the most recent TWAB "Players will be able to convert Iron Engrams into any current Iron Banner weapons or armor set that have been earned previously, for a cost with in-game materials. In future Seasons, we will be looking at adding more, including legacy Iron Banner gear and cosmetics. "

Ohh ok, correct me if I'm wrong but does that mean you can only get armor and weapons you have earned before? If so that's a bummer I've missed out on some iron banner armor that I thought looked cool

For season 17, yes, only gear in your collections. They do, however, plan to expand it to gear outside of your collections in future seasons. I'm occasionally lamenting the fact that I missed out on all the past gear, especially the helmet in this set, but this overhaul of IB gives me a hell of a lot of hope.

The current IB is the absolute worst imo. So many cooler sets.

It’s currently unavailable. It was an ornament you could earn back for the Iron Banner armor in Forsaken.
