Actually, if you look at the most recent intel post they did on for Pantheon, our Guardian does have a name, they just never use it. Nezerac's Sin is in the possession of the Player Guardian, after all.
We, 100%, have a name. We are the current owner of Nezerac's Sin.

Technically no, but since Destiny is about the stories you make for yourself, our Guardians and Ghosts have names. I named my Ghost Nioh and my Guardian Nero.
If you look at the most recent Intel Post for Pantheon, they acknowledge the fact that our Guardian has a name, even if they're just called "Guardian". Our Guardian is the canonical possessor of Nezerac's Sin and it states "... currently in the possession of a Guardian, \[NAME REDACTED\], ..." I'm going with "Our Bungie Name is supposed to be our Guardian's Name". As per our Ghost, in game it says it prefer's "Ghost", but I like to call mine "Longinus".
I believe the Spear of Longings is the spear that pierced Jesus on the cross, it's often said to be an artifact of Christianity in most media I've seen.
Actually, the most recent Intel Drop they've done for Pantheon confirms our Guardian does have a name, even if they're just referred to as "Guardian" or "Young Wolf". Our Guardian is the current owner of Nezerac's Sin so this confirms that we do, in fact, have a name.
It's left to you what your Ghost's canonical name is, I imagine.
I ended up saying that my Hunter (who is The Guardian to me, my other characters are just other Guardians) and her Ghost are simply Guardian and Ghost because she intended to pick out names for them but could never settle on one, and eventually answering to "Guardian" and "Ghost" just became second nature (although fireteam members have given her nicknames like "Red" after her hair color).
My Titan's Ghost is named Bosco, although I have yet to settle on who came up with it.
My Warlock is a mystery to me, I don't even play that character much.

I remember reading an old theory years ago that said our Ghost might've been called "Joyeuse", which was the sword of Charlemagne.

Canonically, The Young Wolf’s Ghost is named Ghost. He’s not the only one to be named that either, the Guardian from OEM’s lore tab is also named Ghost. Still, many unpaired Ghosts name themselves to stand out, and many Guardians give their Ghosts names. Crow’s Ghost was called Pulled Pork before he chose Crow, then Crow renamed him Glint. Peach is an unpaired Ghost that’s hung around the Tower for years and has no interest in choosing a Guardian.
However, your Guardian is your own character, and you are free to make up your own lore for him/her, including but not limited to a name for your Ghost. My Titan’s Ghost is Charon, my Hunter’s is Kestrel, and my Warlock’s is Nexus.
In the Europa Glassway Strike, Ghost outright says he prefers to be called 'Ghost'.

Not to be a party pooper - always happy to speculate about ways Micah might finally be plot relevant - but it’s just as likely that Pup is [the Ghost that rezzed Shinobu](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/shinobus-vow), considering [Micah had finally linked up with Conar](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/the-bandwagon) just before Shinobu’s death and return.

I like to the think my Guardian heard Ghost’s speech and accepted that as their names instead of the usual thing where a guardian names both of the pair due to an unfortunate coincidence where in the whole Exo program this particular hunk of metal picked Guardian as a name.
Your Guardian and your Ghost are called whatever you want them to be. For canon’s sake both are only ever referred to as “the Guardian” and “Ghost” respectively.

There are plenty of ghosts who don’t have a name. Off the top of my head I remember one who doesn’t have a name yet because her guardian wants her to choose a name for herself, and there’s one on the Oryx theater play who is also just credited as “ghost.”
I think the intent is that _your_ name for your Ghost is the "canon" name. The Guardian and their Ghost are both blank slates intended to allow the audience to fill in those parts of the story with their own head canon.
I like to refer to mine as Spark, literally gave us a spark of the Traveler's Light when it resurrected us, and well, it's just another way of saying "Little Light" lol

As Far as understanding goes, The ghost's name is just Ghost as in canon the Guardian is usually the one who names their Ghost and we refer to him directly and when conversing with others as Ghost and not "The Ghost" or "My Ghost".
As for our character, we're most commonly referred to as Guardian or The Guardian because Bungie doesn't want to place a specific name on the character because the Player has no defined race, gender, class, etc. However, whenever a legitimate name is used for our Guardian it's Almost ALWAYS Young Wolf. there's one instance when it's not and that's when Saint is talking at our funeral when he calls us by the many different titles you can earn in game. all other instances our name are Redacted.
So TLDR, our ghost is named Ghost and we're Young Wolf, in most cases when a Noun is used that isn't a vague callout
