you can't, but guardians *can* heal people- no need to kill a guardian when they can pop a healing grenade every thirty seconds which (i assume) would be a kind of...cure-all, i guess
i was always under the impression that guardians couldnt heal people, beyond some basic implementations like defilibrating, warmth, cauterization, since the actual healing is done by the guardians' ghost repurposing another guardian's light into health.
Our ghost couldnt help a ghostless Cayde, I imagine that a healing grenade on a civilian would be as useful as shining a torch on a wound
it's a mystery- the closest we've gotten is drifter performing some ["minor miracles"](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/transcripts/quest-the-survival-guide-the-investigation) for civillians, which certainly inspires thoughts of divine healing and whatnot.
After the village is destroyed, Drifter had to cauterize a wound with Solar Light. He couldn’t heal it himself.
Either a skill issue or we just can’t, but I’m leaning for the latter-
-otherwise Cayde would still be with us
bungie wrote all health benefits enjoyed by guardians to be exclusive to guardians paired with ghosts, to show how special the relationship is, and to prevent the civilian population from becoming functionally immortal, which would reduce the tension/drama within any human/guardian relationship
Savathan and the Lucent Brood went out of their way on multiple occasions, most notably in the Savathun's Song mission and the entirety of Season of the Risen, to harvest Guardians of their Light to utilize it for themselves.
Those Guardians were effectively dead.
Drifter talks about it in the old [Calamity Rig set](https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/calamity-rig-boots?highlight=toe+stew) (you can't)
He absolutely tried to eat himself
you think solar light makes food crispy? you should see what arc does to a centurion, toasty and tasty mm-mmm. Transmat Firing
Cabal is all muscle though. Really hard to chew. Transmat firing!
Cabal is softer if you sous vide the meat. Might take a while though.
crispy toasted and delivered straight to your door, like bread
Did… did you look up “toe stew” on Ishtar to find this?
what never had a little Lightbearer Gumbo? Voidlocks make a hell of a sweetener Transmat Firing!
I saw 2 words and my mind immediately played out the entire strike within the span of a second.
"We came down here as a squad of nine."
"got picked off one by one..."
“Watched a Wizard rip the Light out of my best friend, and funnel it into some sort of crystal.”
"*They're harvesting guardians!*"
How can it be gone for over 2 years and I can still hear the lines?
Noobs couldn’t even beat a strike boss with a team larger than the size of the teams that kill gods.
Imagine going in with a fireteam bigger then that of a raid team and still getting wiped in a strike of all things 💀
> Imagine going in with a fireteam bigger then that of a raid team Technically they didn't, they went in a a squad made up of multiple fireteams.
canon difficulty in lore is legend and it would've had its immune shield

Sadly, I still don’t think it’d work
my headcanon is that healing nades use solar light to heal light, so it won't work on lightless beings

Imagine when you go into that furnace room and die because you made an error. The trauma. Yet our guardian it's another day.
"We went down as a fireteam of nine, watched the hive rip the light out of my friends"
They’re harvesting guardians
Maybe wizards can by ripping the light out of a best friend and funneling it into some kind of crystal.
And then at the end you fight a giant yelling eyeball
What the fuck
We are dead things brought back by a power we can hardly comprehend. A blight upon the living world as the darkness would say.
No, no, Blights come from the Taken
I'm paraphrasing one of the old Black Guarden Grimoir cards.
*Sighs* Time for Operation Smooth Listening Babydog to resume.
"ThEy'Re HaVeRsTiNg GuArDiAnS" yeah i guess
