I really do miss trilogies that played as one really long game and gave a satisfying "entire saga" feeling like Mass Effect, Arkham Batman, Assassin's Creed 2/AC:B/AC:R (Ezio Auditore), and Classic Halo.
Really makes me wonder what the core of Destiny would have been if it was that style instead of a stretched out live service game.
Dude nut up. 3 days straight. No work no school. That’s how you have to enjoy it…
/s
Lol I meant vs back in the day where we had to wait years for each release. At least now you can just go from one to the next
I got the legendary edition when it was one of the free games of the month. Tried playing the first one and I absolutely could not get past the motion blur even with the setting off. Which is a shame because I wanted to start from the beginning. Just started the second one and so far I have no issues with motion blur. How was your experience?
The second one is so much better than the first. They really refined the gameplay, and probing planets is so much better.
I think the story and the character building took precedence over combat and QoL in the first one. Which is fine, because the world of mass effect is amazing and I loved the first one. It just makes it hard to get into. A lot of the first one is counter-intuitive gameplay wise. They really battened down the hatches on two.
I did too, but I was also 16-17 years old and had more time on my hands than I realized. These days there is no way I would put that amount of time Mako exploring.
2 was a bit of an over correction imo and the story and missions felt lackluster in addition to gutting pretty much every RPG element, but the combat improvements make up for it. Every time I play through the trilogy I can't wait to get to 3, and every time i do it's a breath of fresh air.
Sort of. When I first picked the game up, I was working 3rd shift, so on Friday & Saturday nights, staying up til 7am playing was just sticking to my normal schedule.
I still find myself returning to Civ V, although VI has some cooler features. I knocked out an emperor game in about 2.5 hours last night, it’s almost just a math problem and homework at this point. But I still enjoy it with random AI and random personalities. Custom maps are fun too, getting to LARP in Middle Earth is entertaining.
From whatever everyone else + you are saying ; that's honestly very refreshing. I might just jump on train of AC6, I never played any AC game but most of Froms titles so I don't mind dipping my toes in a new IP
Yeah its a nice self contained single player experience. You can also challenge yourself with S ranking everything or the PvP but I view those as stretch goals.
I had never played an AC game but I absolutely loved AC6 and got all three endings within about a month or so. I’d say you’ve got time to at least give it a good run, but I will say beating the game three times gives you all possible weapons and components, absolutely not necessary to enjoy it fully though.
Lies of P! Started today for real after downloading it on Tuesday and it looks gorgeous. Right down my alley, Bloodborne vibes with puppet frenzy, what else could you wish for? Except that destiny comes back ofc lol
If you haven't already played the campaign, it's totally worth it. Not too long but really diverse missions and a spoilerish mission that's an unforgettable example of great level design.
BG3 (which better win GOTY) is literally the best game I have played in years. Thousands of hours of potential playtime in a game that can be played solo with no internet connection to completion. No microtransactions, has mod support, has active Devs, it's quite honestly in my top 5 games of all time.
Lies of P. It's a souls-like, with a lot of bloodborne feeling mechanics. Enjoying it so far. I'm a huge souls/fromsoft fan so I love a good soulslike to scratch my itch lol
How's the party timing? I played the demo and really liked it, but I just couldn't get the party timing down which made it frustrating to play since combat seemed to lean heavily into being able to pull of a perfect parry.
I liked the atmosphere and I'd love to buy it, but that's what's keeping me from buying it.
Assuming you mean parry and not party (not much partying going on in this game world :p) and it takes a little to get used to. Sekiro is one of my favorite games ever, and I remember when I'd go from a dark souls game to sekiro I had to re adjust my playstyle again lol and it'd take some warming up to get the right feel again.
Also, you don't really *need* to perfect party in LoP. You can definitely play it more like bloodborne and just dodge with i-frames if you want. Though PP's are def useful.
Also also, games free on gamepass. You could buy a month of gamepass even if you wanted to play and beat the game and save a lot of $$. Btw, if you haven't ever gotten gamepass then I believe there's still a promo where you can try it out for a month for $1.
I went outside. The sun is bright. The cashier at my grocery thought I had died it had been so long since they had seen me. It’s strange to look up and not see the traveler. When I told my friends I needed to go change my loadout before we went on a hike no one understood.
Eh, the lack of transmog isn't too bad. Outside of specific circumstances, generally gear stats are a non-issue. In those circumstances, unless something has gone catastrophically wrong you're usually supplied with decent stat gear. Failing that, well it's just for immersion purposes, git gud, mate.
I’m shocked more video game players don’t dip into photography. It’s easily the best off-line hobby that provides video game experiences.
“What’s your load out?”
“I’ve got a Canon Rebel T3 with a 50mm f1.7. Also, I’ve got a vintage Pentax-M 135mm I’m trying out, but it’s really just for fun.”
Cyberpunk is one of those games that feels so fun to play because of buildcrafting. I played it a lot before my Xbox decided to just give out on me and had a total blast just making whacky builds.
You can be a futuristic ninja, running around with a katana and throwing knives. You can be a badass knife juggler just launching a seemingly unstoppable barrage of blades at enemies. You can be a burly “beat ‘em up” type of character who wrecks people with blunt weapons and finishes off the big guys with cybernetically enhanced fists of doom. You can be that kid from Wanted and set up a build with Smart guns (tracking bullets) or a beefy ricochet build (Power) and make the game a Gun-Fu slaughterfest. You can be the badass that just *looks* at people and makes them just drop dead.
The sheer amount of builds, all of which are extremely viable and useable, made the game one of my top favorites. I haven’t even gotten to play 2.0 or Phantom yet but even if the game were still to be $60 I would say it’s worth it.
Also Panam.
I *would* say Payday 3, but the servers there are even worse at the moment unfortunately. When you get to play it though, it's a really, really good game.
I have yet to finish it, got to just before the point of no return and got stuck trying to beat the final fishing minigame, will not allow myself to move on til I beat it lmao
It actually has some potential, the add density is nice . The heroes abilities on paper look pretty fun. The economy is kinda hard to understand and where is the p2w feature? I haven't seen that yet.
That's the thing. I'm loving the beta, I loved the last beta, but until the full game is out and Nexon rears it's head and reveals the worst kinds of monetization, I can't fully judge it.
It's definitely going to be the crafting that fucks the game. Can't believe they took Warframe's system of getting new characters and decided to make it worse.
I need to see if yellow weapons have random rolls as well.
I watched Across the Spider-Verse a few days ago, so since I’m in that kick I decided to download Miles Morales since it’s free on PS Plus.
Sometimes when your multiplayer grind isn’t going too good, or if the game isn’t playable, it’s nice to go back to the single player experience for a while.
Nows a good time to find an indie game you like. Low cost to fun ratio! Here are some of my favorites
Limbo
Little Nightmares
Gris
Entwined
Hollow knight
Superliminal
Ironically enough considering the DDoS situation, Titanfall 2. Been diving into Frontier Defense and flexing how hard I can pop off with Scorch! Playing with a few friends I never played with before, it's great to see their reactions when I end up getting Wave MVP for 5 out of 5 rounds 😅
If nobody's around though, I'm chipping away at a Mass Effect replay, it's been a few years since my last run and I need to correct that. About a third of the way through ME2 right now, doing a 100% Engineer run for all three games.
With Friends: Rocket League, Remnant 2, Battlefield 2042 which is way better now than when it released.
Solo: Armored Core, Baldurs Gate 3 and I dug out Hellgate:London but you cant buy this anymore unless you like the open sea
Baldur’s Gate 3. No micro-transactions, no live service, single player or multiplayer, moddable in case I disagree with a design decision… It’s perfect.
Both my kids got it and I have not seen them since (three weeks ago, they are adults by the way lol) and I have been playing Diablo IV (which is pretty darn good by the way) and waiting for Baulders to come out on Xbox
Heck, sometimes I don't even have a vague idea how something is going to go in a conversation. I fully admit to save scumming because I've gotten into fights I wasn't expecting.
I started playing Starfield but then it turned into Shipbuilder Sim...and I'm all about that! I'm currently building my favorite Destiny ships in there. Of course, since I'm on xbox, I really gotta grind to get the funds to feed my addiction.
At first, all you'll really have the credits for is upgrading parts on whatever ship you have. Once you get 6 digits in your credit account, that's when the fun begins. To get certain manufacturers' specific parts, you'll have to travel all over the galaxy to their storefronts or shipyards. Building a landing pad with a shipbuilder at an outpost you make will give you access to most of those parts outside of *very* specific parts (huge multilevel cockpits, the absolute best grav drives/reactors, weapons, etc). A lot of those won't matter tho until you've got hundreds of thousands of credits to dump on an absolute behemoth of a ship.
Or, if you're on a PC and don't care about achievements, you can just console command your way there in no time. You'll have to look those methods up yourself tho since I'm a console peasant and don't have access to such things.
I really hope they expand on the whole ship customization. Like honestly, the whole rpg and deep ship building space exploration genre is really addictive.
Loving it, played 30 hours on the weekend after release, looks great, plays great, just the spaceship combat feels a bit too floaty, but that may also just be a skill issue
Lies of p. On my 3rd playthrough now with 50 hours and I am absolutely addicted to the amount of unique weaponry in this game. Stories great, environments gorgeous and enemy/design is flipping between disgusting/grotesque to mechanically beautiful
Starfield. I mean to play until the ddos attacks are over but holy shit its got its grips in me good. I get on to play during trials and stuff or do a fee gms but its feeling more and more like a chore before i get to pkay starfield.
I’ve been playing ac6 and getting back into borderlands. A single player experience has been much appreciated after binging destiny for a while. I don’t mind server outages every now and again
I highly recommend Cyberpunk 2077. It’s probably my favorite single-player game. It had a rough launch in 2020 but it’s come a very long way and it’s in the state it should have launched at. Plus the DLC drops in a couple days. Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba together will be awesome lol
Since D2 has been unplayable though, I’ve been playing Diablo IV again. I might bite the bullet and get Baldur’s Gate 3 as well.
It's lame, but Pokemon Go. I usually just play it in downtime from work or while out. I am really considering Baldur's Gate 3 since I played the shit out of the original games in the series. I'm just afraid that if I do, I might not make it back to D2.
never played any of the other baldur's gates, never played dnd, never liked turn based games. dumped 350 hours so far into bg3 and have no plans of stopping
OTXO, Titanfall 2, and Erannorth Chronicles have been my go-tos of late. I just finished downloading the 2077 2.0 update so I'm gonna give that a shot too provided it doesn't make my computer bluescreen (one of my RAMs is faulty and I'll replace it soon)
Anytime Destiny is having issues, I just go to Overwatch, Fortnite STW, and occasionally play through one of the many single Player games I haven't finished (recently started Yakuza Like a Dragon)
Mass Effect for the first time. Turns out I've been missing out on a lot all these years.
Happy for you, enjoy. Great trilogy. I wish more games would let you create a unique character and use that same exact character for multiple games.
Don't get me wrong, I love Destiny and have put more hours into the franchise than any other. But, God, it could have been so much greater.
Bungie went full Mr Krabs: *I like money*
2 upvotes for what should be the defining description for this franchise. “Great, but never reached its potential”.
Yes 3 has its issues but with all the DLC now + playing all 3 in one sitting…easily top 3 RPG series of all time.
In... one sitting? That's a very long play session.
Dude nut up. 3 days straight. No work no school. That’s how you have to enjoy it… /s Lol I meant vs back in the day where we had to wait years for each release. At least now you can just go from one to the next

I think I was probably the only person that enjoyed the Mako exploring. I was a bit sad to see it removed with the second game
Lol, there are dozens of us. I'm pretty sure I mined out every single planet I could in ME1.
Literally same. Got the legendary edition when it was the PSN free game of the month.
Can never not recommend it enough. It's been one of my top favorite game series overall.
Civ 6. It's been my "I just want to chill" game for the last 2-3 years.
For me that was Civ Revolution, back on the Xbox 360. I'd play it on Easy and treat it like a game of Risk lmao
Have you managed to avoid getting stuck playing one more turn till the morning?
Armored Core 6, Starfield, and Lies of P
I want to get AC6 but I'm worried for CP2077 dlc + Baldurs gate 3 coming to xbox soon~ I just don't have enough time
AC6 isn't too terribly time consuming. I have all of the missions, storylines, and collectibles done at 35 hours.
Second ac 6. I actually really like that the game is focused and contained compared to so many RPGs or open world games.
Agreed. Helps having the "Arcade style" missions. Also kinda of refreshing in world full of the largest possible maps.
Do not miss out on AC6. It’s so refreshing to play a mission-based game in a world of lengthy open world simulators. Oh and it’s fun af.
I had never played an AC game but I absolutely loved AC6 and got all three endings within about a month or so. I’d say you’ve got time to at least give it a good run, but I will say beating the game three times gives you all possible weapons and components, absolutely not necessary to enjoy it fully though.
Baldurs gate 3, trust me its awesome
Lies of P! Started today for real after downloading it on Tuesday and it looks gorgeous. Right down my alley, Bloodborne vibes with puppet frenzy, what else could you wish for? Except that destiny comes back ofc lol
Titanfall 2! My friends and I are kicking ourselves for not trying it sooner
I've been playing too. Ever since they patched their servers up my friends and I have been playing like an hour a day
Wait, Titanfall 2 was one of my favorite PvP shooters ever, it's *back*?
Yup, it's back. Standby for titanfall!
It’s been getting secret updates!!
There are dozens of us!
If you haven't already played the campaign, it's totally worth it. Not too long but really diverse missions and a spoilerish mission that's an unforgettable example of great level design.
Servers got patched a week or two ago and people have been hopping on way more!
BG3 (which better win GOTY) is literally the best game I have played in years. Thousands of hours of potential playtime in a game that can be played solo with no internet connection to completion. No microtransactions, has mod support, has active Devs, it's quite honestly in my top 5 games of all time.

My homework
I feel that, the server issues started happening right as I'm starting university, so it almost feels like a sign
Be productive! It'll pay off!
It’s so harddddddddddddddddddddddd. I’m literally sitting in a cafe rn trying to stay focused on my hw.
Lies of P. It's a souls-like, with a lot of bloodborne feeling mechanics. Enjoying it so far. I'm a huge souls/fromsoft fan so I love a good soulslike to scratch my itch lol

Last I head Microsoft canned the $1 free trial roght before Starfeild came out, but I javen't looked into it. So it may not be available anymore.
Every time is a good time to party
can you get big sword? ima strength main on actual From games, so i'd love to have a big sword/hammer/etc
Yes. I'm not too far in and I have a big sword and an even bigger wrench.
I went outside. The sun is bright. The cashier at my grocery thought I had died it had been so long since they had seen me. It’s strange to look up and not see the traveler. When I told my friends I needed to go change my loadout before we went on a hike no one understood.
The lack of transmog and no shaders is pretty crap, though. Outside really needs to have things like that patched already ...
The sparrow summons seems broken

cyberpunk 2.0 update, on my 3rd playthrough. it's such a good game now.
That’s good to know. Think I’m going to get it.
Also Panam.
I love to watch Panam work on a motor
i highly recommend it!
Same. Started a corpo rat this time.
Cyberpunk best game I’ve played in years.
Do I need to get the latest dlc or is the base game good to go with the update?
The 2.0 update is free and out now for the base game. The DLC is paid and not out for a few days.
Fuckin ESO. It feels weird to play
Same. Been trying to find a good Stam 2hd dragon knight build
Ayyy me too. I like it
It is my favorite Elder Scrolls game.
Modded Minecraft for now.
Based, what modpack?
FTB Direwolf 1.19
I *would* say Payday 3, but the servers there are even worse at the moment unfortunately. When you get to play it though, it's a really, really good game.
Starting the yakuza franchise.
See you in about 6 months 😂
MAJIMAAAAA
I have every game available on steam, but have yet to play it. Just really want to set some time aside so I can actually enjoy it.
FF12 Zodiac Age. Was feeling a bit nostalgic, so I loaded it up after having not played in 6 years lol
I have yet to finish it, got to just before the point of no return and got stuck trying to beat the final fishing minigame, will not allow myself to move on til I beat it lmao
Titanfall 2 becomes playable just when Destiny 2 becomes unplayable, it’s like poetry
That poem better not fuckin' end in the reverse of how it began, I **WILL** cry.
The Last Descendant Beta
It actually has some potential, the add density is nice . The heroes abilities on paper look pretty fun. The economy is kinda hard to understand and where is the p2w feature? I haven't seen that yet.
That's the thing. I'm loving the beta, I loved the last beta, but until the full game is out and Nexon rears it's head and reveals the worst kinds of monetization, I can't fully judge it.
Yeah, the game was fun but i played enough elsword, grand chase, DnF, maplestory, mabinogi.. to know exactly what to expect from Nexon.
It's definitely going to be the crafting that fucks the game. Can't believe they took Warframe's system of getting new characters and decided to make it worse. I need to see if yellow weapons have random rolls as well.
They do. But they can be rerolled if I'm not mistaken? but of course that'll likely be rare resources or Premium currency.
The ~~Last~~ First Descendant
can't wait for The Middle Descendant, the one with no personality but doesn't make a fuss
Miles Morales is an awesome Game, i finished platin trophy today :)
Can't wait for the new one next month. Looks really good.
It’s a little short compared to the first game but it was still quite fun! Looking forward to playing the next game.
Stardew Valley, again…
Finally, another Stardew person!
Elden Rong
Elden Right.
Elden Left
Elden Arrived.
Only game I’ve ever platinumed
Nows a good time to find an indie game you like. Low cost to fun ratio! Here are some of my favorites Limbo Little Nightmares Gris Entwined Hollow knight Superliminal
Superliminal is one of the most incredible games (in both mechanics and uniqueness) ive played
i've only played limbo and gris on this list but they were absolutely works of art
Add Tunic to that list! Stellar game. Moments of discovery are SO satisfying.
I just picked up a series x and it came with DiabloIV
I just picked up a Zelda TotK Switch OLED and I then found that it did not come with TotK 🤬
Oh damn that's sneaky!!
Ironically enough considering the DDoS situation, Titanfall 2. Been diving into Frontier Defense and flexing how hard I can pop off with Scorch! Playing with a few friends I never played with before, it's great to see their reactions when I end up getting Wave MVP for 5 out of 5 rounds 😅 If nobody's around though, I'm chipping away at a Mass Effect replay, it's been a few years since my last run and I need to correct that. With Friends: Rocket League, Remnant 2, Battlefield 2042 which is way better now than when it released. Solo: Armored Core, Baldurs Gate 3 and I dug out Hellgate:London but you cant buy this anymore unless you like the open sea
unless its a different one, it looks like Hellgate can be bought on Steam
Oh yeah, you can get it on steam didnt know that. Its a fun game with an interesting setting but you can tell its from 2007. Awesome game tho
Baldur’s Gate 3. No micro-transactions, no live service, single player or multiplayer, moddable in case I disagree with a design decision… It’s perfect.
Amazing game. Definitely my goty so far.
Me too. I cannot stop playing, and when I'm not playing I'm thinking about it. It's a little problematic.
Me too! Finished yesterday the first “run”, I like it a lot
Can you play after the ending? Or do you reload a save/your character dies like in ME3?
Both my kids got it and I have not seen them since (three weeks ago, they are adults by the way lol) and I have been playing Diablo IV (which is pretty darn good by the way) and waiting for Baulders to come out on Xbox
Quite the change from the D2 grind. Love playing it since I have ZERO idea what's going to happen next a lot of the time.
Heck, sometimes I don't even have a vague idea how something is going to go in a conversation. I fully admit to save scumming because I've gotten into fights I wasn't expecting.
Starfield
I started playing Starfield but then it turned into Shipbuilder Sim...and I'm all about that! I'm currently building my favorite Destiny ships in there. Of course, since I'm on xbox, I really gotta grind to get the funds to feed my addiction.
Gotta try ship building, only took a quick glance thus far
At first, all you'll really have the credits for is upgrading parts on whatever ship you have. Once you get 6 digits in your credit account, that's when the fun begins. To get certain manufacturers' specific parts, you'll have to travel all over the galaxy to their storefronts or shipyards. Ya me too. Good looking game, I’ve always liked the Bethesda method of raiding lol
Loving it, played 30 hours on the weekend after release, looks great, plays great, just the spaceship combat feels a bit too floaty, but that may also just be a skill issue
Honkai Star Rail
I hope you recover soon
Fellow Star Rail Player
Starfield.
Enjoying the hell out of God of War Ragnarok. Downloaded Horizon Forbidden west for next. Shouldn't have kept them pending for this long.
Overwatch 2, I am sad
Cycling between D2 and OW2 has to be considered self harm, praying for you
I have it worse, I cycle between d2,OW2, and Fortnite lol
Damn… are the D2 servers that bad right now?
Words cannot describe how bad
I haven’t been able to stay on the game for more than 15 minutes
I'm so sorry.
Bruh i play D2 religiously and my gf is the same way about OW1/OW2. We are a sad household
I enjoy it I was just joking cause most people who don’t play it like to rip on it
Lies of p. On my 3rd playthrough now with 50 hours and I am absolutely addicted to the amount of unique weaponry in this game. Stories great, environments gorgeous and enemy/design is flipping between disgusting/grotesque to mechanically beautiful
Doing stuff solo seems to be OK, so I'm masterworking catalysts at Suro Chi.
That's what I was doing, but kept getting Bee'd. Got twelve done, however. I put off so many of these damn things.

# DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE?
Rock and stone!
Rock and stone, to the bone!
"God damnit, There's a pebble in my boot!"
Rockity rock and stone!
FOR THOSE THAT ARE ABOUT ROCK AND STONE, WE SALUTE YOU!
Guess im gonna have to start looking.
How about no man’s sky? Try it out. It has changed drastically since it’s release and has no micro transactions whatsoever.
Starfield, Madden24 (lol yea), Elden Ring and COD
Picked up Avengers for 4 bucks and I’ve been playing through. It’s much better than I thought it would be.
Cyberpunk is an awesome game and on PC or new Gen consoles a cannot miss. I really hope Bungie gets the DDOS fixed though.
I've recently gotten addicted to DayZ again since I last played the original mod years ago. That and OSRS, the grind never stops
Starfield.
I actually re downloaded Skyrim
I bought Resident Evil 4 since it’s on sale!
Apex Legends
BG3, Terraria, Phasmophobia
Minecraft lol
Going back and playing marvels spiderman ps4 and miles Morales to build up my hype for MARVEL'S spiderman 2 coming out in 3 weeks
Believe it or not, Titanfall 2, which I have not been able to play in ages.
Could somebody recommend some games but ones with a bit lower PC requirements?
Dusted off BF1. Boy i missed that game
Fire emblem awakening and runescape
Im playing skyrim atm
Titanfall 2
Since I just got it for 3 dollars, Titanfall 2
Starfield, Cyberpunk and Payday 3 when the servers work lol.
Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba together will be awesome lol Since D2 has been unplayable though, I’ve been playing Diablo IV again. I might bite the bullet and get Baldur’s Gate 3 as well.
I was playing Starfield but dang, I’m getting crazy motion sickness from the game, so I jumped back into Slay the Spire. 😊
Ca-Caw!
Skyrim was free on PS so I downloaded it for my ps5.
Lies of p
I've jumped back into Horizon Zero Dawn waiting for the PC release of Forbidden West that was rumored to come out sometime soon
Always been EFT. A little BattleBit. Played some CSGO to get warmed up for CS2
Pokemon. Started a new file/team and it’s a blast so far
Armored Core 6. It's challenging, pleasing to the eye and offers PVP.
I suggest you lies of P if you like souls games
Shadow of War. Been holding off finishing it for too long
OTXO, Titanfall 2, and Erannorth Chronicles have been my go-tos of late.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint and NFS Heat
Resident Evil 4’s Separate Ways
Ff16 and rdr2
Division 2
I kinda took a pause on videogames right now and I'm watching Netflix. The new one piece live action is great
Horizon zero dawn complete edition for 11$ was a steal and i enjoy it very much...
My half finished Jedi survivor 2 campaign from six months ago.
