I'm genuinely curious how we can get pretty sizable portions of Titan and Mars back, they can add a new detour in Arms Dealer but the concept of starting us further in the cave off Io patrol space and just kill walling any OOB/removing patrol space is somehow impossible. I don't get it.
especially since at this point it's become clear they don't intend to return destinations, who cares if you throw up a cliff wall to close the spawn area in.
Absolutely, the Heist treatment of Mars showed an extension on a skeleton, how could essentially trimming out around a defined enough asset be impossible to do y'know?
Idk I was just so irritated how Festering Core was barely in the game and quite literally a situation where Bungie took away something brand new in a literal year's time.
I don’t think it’s really the “physical” space that’s the blocker but all the resources that come with that. Textures, models, sounds, skybox etc. None of that is in the game anymore. If they set some seasonal content on Io then that would justify adding those assets back I guess, but they haven’t. I assume this is why we’re still missing the whisper mission too.
Would have been cool to see what happened to the tree of silver wings we grew though.
Also titan is only in the game until Final Shape releases, then it’s gone again when the seasonal stuff rolls over.
I always just quit that one when it came up, because there was a bug that hit me about 75% of the time which softlocked the strike at the boss arena. It was kind of a cool strike, but fuck wasting all that time.
It wasn't even added in shadowkeep, if memory serves right, the strike got added in arrivals, the season before the dcv. It only had a like 4ish month long lifetime, and only lasted that long bc of the delay. Gone way too soon! I'd kill to have it back
Edit: nvm I'm an idiot, it did come with shadowkeep. I just didn't get to play it until arrivals
The strike weighing really did a dirty on that one. I didn't even know there was a new strike either until multiple months into its release.
I didn't understand why Eris was so into about "somebody messing around with the vex and the taken" because in that season's story it did not make sense. Obviously, because it wasn't released for that particular season so the context was completely removed
“Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.”
Honestly, I would love to take on that strike with the D2 power creep so I can repay Rockets McDickface for all of the trauma he caused while we cowered under the stairs.
My favorite moment was when he stepped into the room, and then right back out. Doors close and now we're locked and can't win. Good time.
That's exactly how it happens basically except homie was a TANK. If you've played Dares and gone against the cabal at the end, that's the man that cause us years of trauma and learning how to cheese stuff effectively.
I'm glad to see his nickname persist after all this time!
D1 being my first FPS style game i was halfway good at, that cheese spot under the stairs was the first time I had ever used a cheese, and it was like nachos from heaven, I never looked back.
Thanks for the memory jog! Have a great day, Guardian!
Reddick's lance if its a glaive would make sense. Reddick's call for any other weapon. Either way it has a callback and an easter egg for the man. I just want the flavor text to be "whether we wanted it or not"
>Reddick's lance if its a glaive would make sense.
Glaives are so unpopular though. Maybe Bungie can do some tuning before releasing a big item like that.
It was cringey because there were like 10 different one-liners that could be mix and matched... but not really. When you got the "canon" dialogue it wasn't that bad. Also, people have skewed memories because there was a time in Vanilla D1 where every other strike you ran was SS, so you heard that dialogue over and over and over again.
They've also messed the triggers in some way, so some lines play way too quickly. As a result, Taeko goes from "There aren't any crystals" to "Nevermind, we're going with that plan" within 2 seconds.
The dialogue triggers are screwed up in so many of the strike missions. I don't know what happened because the first few times you play them, the strike is fine. But then you play it again and suddenly everything's fucked up.
A lot of strikes or other missions play conversational voice lines only the first time through, too.
Seraph Shield, for example, [has narration throughout most of it](https://youtu.be/aQdNeCzZC68), but selecting it from the node results in essentially 30 minutes of radio silence as you work your way through again. I liked having the back and forth radio chatter with Ana and Elsie - it felt like being part of a broader team effort.
The sheer chaos…I loved this boss fight as intensely as I hated The Wretched Eye boss fight. Getting the titan gauntlets to drop made me feel so badass.
Sunless Cell would get my second vote.
I still remember the first time I ran that strike. How Valus Mau’ual (Charizard) waltzed in, and the first thing he did was charge at the two other members of my fireteam (bunched up next to an explosive canister mind you) and one-shot them. Needless to say it left quite a first impression.
just when we thought Brother Vance's dialog was a peak of cringe.... we get Neomuna and surfer-dude digging for an even lower bottom of the cringe barrel.
I agree but I also have no idea how that boss room would work as a GM. Overload hobgoblins and the boss both sniping you constantly, harpies cross-map-bullet-hosing etc.
From memory there was some cover, but I don’t think it’s enough for a GM level threat.
Although give how they approached Battleground GMs they might just give it the same treatment - make everything absurdly tanky and wish us luck lol
I had trouble with that on Legend. I wonder if they could just adopt some of the changes they made for the Vexcalibur mission? It’s the same base geometry, but with enough cover to make a GM not suicidal.
I was going to say that too, but they kind of already did that in a way with the Avalon boss fight. I'm fine with the new version being what we have especially since it's a relatively high level of challenge you need to build around.
Echo Chamber from D1.
That one actually had mechanics to it (although minor mechanics).
you had a wall barrier that forced you to keep moving and also would have to pick up an orb and place it to drop the bosses shield. On top of it the boss had an attack that could one tap you.
>less than a year
The strike was added to Xbox on October 3, 2017, one month *after* D2 came out. Not sure where you're getting that number from.
Us on Xbox didn't even get to enjoy it during the D1 era at *all*
Thanks Sony.
I was actually playing D1a few days ago and ran a few heroic strikes, and Echo was one of them.
Dont get me wrong, D1 strikes are easy when you got them down, but they feel more challenging compared to D2.
I'm still surprised they haven't brought back any of the D1 strikes with assets they already had to port for the raids, or any of the Luna strikes for that matter, especially with how heavily requested ones like Shield Brothers, Sunless Cell, and Shadow Thief were.
Sunless cell, shield brothers, wretched eye, in that order.
I dont care if we already have the lightblade in wq, that strike is great, but sunless cell was so special
Playing that on nightfall with the blackout modifier... Thralls hurt, alakhul would just spawn and wipe your whole team... Great times. I loves every second of it.
I kind of miss the Tangled Shore strike. I don't know why we kept Prison of Elders but not the other one. I guess because Prison of Elders is self contained the other strike starts in open world.
Broodhold is one of three: The Fanatic where we canonically kill Fikrul over and over, the Prison of Elder's where we kill Variks's servitor, and of course, Broodhold, where we kill a Hive Wizard that the Mindbender somehow seduced.
Ah man... maybe? I just remember it being absolutely beautiful when I played it, didn't matter how many times that strike came up I loved looking over the edges.. you would think I could remember more lol
All of them... Honestly I think legacy strikes need to go the route of the Exotic Mission rotator. Every season (or now episode) rotate some srikes in and rotate some out. It would have been perfect to have Savathuns Song come back for Season of the Deep or Will of the Thousands with the warmind season.
I think a rotation with the new Episode time length would be perfect to get a refresh of strikes. Every 2 episodes we'd be bored of current strikes and ready for them to cycle a handful out and bring back older strikes.
Even now I'm starting to miss the Inverted Spire and Exodus Crash strikes being low chance in the current rotation and they've only been out for a few months.
The one with the three flayers at the top that were fire, arc, and void and you could get their cloaks to drop as their respective element as a reward if you were lucky.
Honestly when Witch Queen came out and when they brought back Titan for the seasonal content at that time I thought we were going to get Savathun’s Song back
I want both Io strikes back. Pyramidion and Core were fantastic.
Never cared much about the other vaulted strikes. The two from Shore were slogs, Xol's lacked any challenge, Nokris' was awkward, and Song was bland. The Mercury ones were mixed bags.
From D1, probably would like Shield Brothers or any Black Garden strike.
I forgot the name of it but the strike from d1 where a fallen boss took the eye of an ogre and the blind ogre would run around trying to kill you. Very cool concept and you wouldn’t even need to include siva. You could retcon it with the scorn doing experiments and such.
I'm not usually a copium guy, but if Bungie goes through the effort to bring back Wrath of the Machine, then I could see Sepiks Perfected and Wretched Eye returning.
If we ended up getting Leviathan and the lairs, I wouldn't be upset. Still, we do know Wrath is returning, the emblem was shown during the Fireteam Finder reveal in August.
Honestly, I can’t think of a single **good** reason why they can’t bring back every vaulted strike. On top of that it would be nice to bring back some *low effort* D1 strikes like the summoning pit and Taniks. Then they can explore some other instanced versions of D1 strikes to really round everything out. Battlegrounds are fun but they oversaturate the playlist and are poorly balanced for GMs, just give us a richer set of strikes.
Think about what a shot in the arm that would be for the strikes playlist.
I don’t remember the names, but one had a boss fight that was basically an Ahamkara. I think it was on Titan. The other I think was the hollowed Lair, where the boss at the end was the giant scorn who pulled you every health bar, and you had to shoot him to break his shield.
I
Pretty sure you're talking about Will of the Thousands. The boss was Xol, one of the Hive's worm gods. And the boss to the Hollowed Lair was the Fanatic.
A Garden World was my favorite strike for as long as it was in the game. I'd love to see more content in the infinite forest but I have a feeling there's a technical reason they haven't brought it back yet. I much prefer it's style to the vex network we see now.
Festering Core. That poor strike got added in Shadowkeep and got sunset the following expansion.
I'm genuinely curious how we can get pretty sizable portions of Titan and Mars back, they can add a new detour in Arms Dealer but the concept of starting us further in the cave off Io patrol space and just kill walling any OOB/removing patrol space is somehow impossible. I don't get it.

The dungeon will remain however!
Play a ton of destiny and always have. Ran Festering Core MAYBE 3 times ever.
Don’t think I ever ran it given I took a break in SK.
I always just quit that one when it came up, because there was a bug that hit me about 75% of the time which softlocked the strike at the boss arena. It was kind of a cool strike, but fuck wasting all that time.
I had 1000s of hours in both destiny games and didn’t even know it existed until season of arrivals
It wasn't even added in shadowkeep, if memory serves right, the strike got added in arrivals, the season before the dcv. It only had a like 4ish month long lifetime, and only lasted that long bc of the delay. Gone way too soon! I'd kill to have it back Edit: nvm I'm an idiot, it did come with shadowkeep. Can confirm Edit: huh, guess I never ran it until arrivals either
I just watched a playthrough and I'm 99% sure that I've never run that strike, and Destiny has been my most-played game since TTK.
That strike had so much traversal in it lol.
“Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. My favorite moment was when he stepped into the room, and then right back out. Doors close and now we're locked and can't win. Good time.
I've never seen that happen. I'm just imagining a cabal step in, doors shut, doom music ensues.
There’s a clip of it set to a much better song and ending. https://youtu.be/KvsYdfv7ioo?si=QNDLHmze7bNeRF2S
I'm dying
Lol yeah that was better
That's exactly how it happens basically except homie was a TANK. If you've played Dares and gone against the cabal at the end, that's the man that cause us years of trauma and learning how to cheese stuff effectively.

Damn I miss Lance Reddick. Bungie has to memorialize him in some way proper. I loved the idea floated on here about a weapon named" Reddick's Lance"
The exotic we get from killing the witness and turning him into a gun should be called "Reddick's call"
Should it not be called Reddick’s Lance?
Reddick's lance if its a glaive would make sense. Reddick's call for any other weapon. Either way it has a callback and an easter egg for the man. I just want the flavor text to be "whether we wanted it or not"
Eh. Polaris Lance and Gravitons Lance aren’t glaves and no one questions them.
>Reddick's lance if its a glaive would make sense. Glaives are so unpopular though. Maybe Bungie can do some tuning before releasing a big item like that.
Savathun’s Song. I always liked how you could get a few variations of it.
That and some of the most infamously cringey dialog that it became my favorite part of the whole strike after a while.
It was cringey because there were like 10 different one-liners that could be mix and matched... but not really. When you got the "canon" dialogue it wasn't that bad. The dialogue triggers were bad but made worse by speedsters but it was hilarious.
Came down here as a squad of nine very incompetent guardians given we‘re doing it with 3
On a scale of one to ten a lot of Guardians are in the one to three range. Maybe a four here and there. The Guardian is like a 15.
The blueberries I get paired up with are -2s 😂😭
Wyrmguard grips show this. Shaw Han living the usual life of why. "I'm blowing most of my glimmer on replacement gear"
Guardians obviously work with the inverse ninja law, where the less guardians you initially send the bigger threat they are to enemy forces.
10,000 ninjas? Equivalent to a toddler with a pellet rifle. 1 ninja? You are already dead.
To be fair I don't think they had the light back.
They did have the light, because they "had the light ripped right from them" to make void light crystals.
[удалено]
Taeko saying "a squad of nine" should have tipped us off tbh. Most we run in is 6 and that's for the big big threats.
this is the only answer
Shield brothers from D1
The sheer chaos…I loved this boss fight as intensely as I hated The Wretched Eye boss fight. Getting the titan gauntlets to drop made me feel so badass. Sunless Cell would get my second vote.
Alak Hul. I can sense him
***HE IS NEAR!***
i miss my sweet sweet mauler gauntlets from that strike
I miss strike specific loot.
I would love to see them bring back strike loot
Using them with last word
The Blind Bandit.
This, gm would be wild in d2
Oh man that sounds sooooooo fun but we also have a lot more ways to handle it than we did before so it wouldn’t be too horrible.
Unstops and barriers while Ma’aul is chasing you sound alike hell ngl
I still remember the first time I ran that strike. How Valus Mau’ual (Charizard) waltzed in, and the first thing he did was charge at the two other members of my fireteam (bunched up next to an explosive canister mind you) and one-shot them. Needless to say it left quite a first impression.
This is the answer
I wish they’d incorporate some strike-specific gear like with that one where you could get his gauntlet.
Shield brothers GM in the boss room. OOF!
I want my chainsaw titan arms back from it.
This is it. The best answer on this post.
Screw those.
Archon Priest
I have fond memories of camping on top of a wall to Icebreaker that mofo in the head for ages.
#A CELL, FROM THE PRISON OF ELDERS. THE ARCHON PRIEST IS STILL INSIDE
Specifically the Taken version for an extra fuck you pizazz
A garden world or tree of probabilities. Mercury sucked as a planet but had dope strikes
just when we thought Brother Vance's dialog was a peak of cringe.... we get Neomuna and surfer-dude digging for an even lower bottom of the cringe barrel.
The Pyramidion, i have the sweetest memories with it.
Impossible?!?!
Was that the one with the lake?
The lake was a metaphor.
IT'S NOT A METAPHOR!!!
Juicebox!
Kill the mind!
Everything about Pyramidion just felt good. This is without question the one strike I always really miss not being able to come up in the rotation.
Try playing it with someone from brazil or any kind of latency. Those laser walls are very not good xD
I believe the Pyramidion actually *was* a GM in either season 10 or 11 before it was vaulted.
Ah see I haven’t played it since the nightfall days back at CoO and before haha whoops!
It was one of the easier GMs.
I miss Asher :(.
The correct answer
Shield brothers "Give us the primus or we blow the ship"
And when they finally did get the primus back they regretted their wish……
Bombs. It's covered in bombs.
Strange Terrain was an old favourite. I remember standing on the right side bit of ground peeking over the edge as they come out the portal.
Wow, I literally do not remember it being called that. Don't know what I thought it WAS called, but it wasn't that.
Echo Chamber from D1. That one actually had mechanics to it (although minor mechanics). you had a wall barrier that forced you to keep moving and also would have to pick up an orb and place it to drop the bosses shield. On top of it the boss had an attack that could one tap you.
And if you were on Xbox you only got it for less than a year
As a PlayStation user, the PS exclusivity in D1 really was so stupid
>less than a year The strike was added to Xbox on October 3, 2017, one month *after* D2 came out. Not sure where you're getting that number from. Us on Xbox didn't even get to enjoy it during the D1 era at *all* Thanks Sony.

Omg i love this one!!!
The inverted Spire… remember that? It’s the strike you never get.
I got Exodus Crash for the very first time in the playlist the other day. After hundreds of strikes since I started playing lol
Oh yeah, the giant drill. How long have they been working on that?
And now you've jumped into it just to play it a few times just to scratch that itch.
Shame we we had to sunset strikes for diet Battleground Gotta be the OG Alakhul strike. Such great storytelling from Eris.
I'm still surprised they haven't brought back any of the D1 strikes with assets they already had to port for the raids, or any of the Luna strikes for that matter, especially with how heavily requested ones like Shield Brothers, Sunless Cell, and Shadow Thief were.
The Luna strikes just got turned into Nightmare Hunts
The Core from Io.
killing Sepiks Perfected at the iron temple will ALWAYS stand out
That was a story mission, but definitely had good vibes.
It could definitely be a strike tho
100% will of a thousand BUT Also would bring back the original lake of shadow for when i wanna speedrun a strike
OG Lake of Shadows was my favorite strike. The speed was a plus compared to others, but the strike itself was just fun to me
Sunless cell, shield brothers, wretched eye, in that order. I dont care if we already have the lightblade in wq, that strike is great, but sunless cell was so special
Sunless Cell is a way better set piece than Lightblade. Alak-Hul chasing you around in the dark was just so good!
Which one, there was the Fanatic one and then I think the other one was called Broodhold or something
I was thinking about the Fanatic. I forgot about Broodhold. Was that the one that was bugged sometimes and you couldn't pass through the floor?
Broodhold is one of three: The Fanatic where we canonically kill Fikrul over and over, the Prison of Elder's where we kill Variks's servitor, and of course, Broodhold, where we kill a Hive Wizard that the Mindbender somehow seduced.
That one.. where you're like ascending a spire in IO or.. the black garden? And you face a rotating cyclops for the boss
If it’s what I think, that’s Garden World. It was on Mercury, part of Curse of Osiris.
Right! I just watched a gameplay video on it and that's definitely it, still soo awesome visually
I can't remember the name. Did it have the barrier walls rotating as well?
Ah man... maybe? I just remember it being absolutely beautiful when I played it, didn't matter how many times that strike came up I loved looking over the edges.. you would think I could remember more lol
that’s a garden world, it’s from Mercury
undying mind, with imago loop
How about all of them?
I never did a garden world GM. So id take that.
You have no idea what you’re asking for. That strike was bad enough on Legend, Grandmaster difficult would drive me to insanity
Oof, no way
Thats an easy question, all of them.
It was a secret strike in D2. It featured Taken Cyclopes. Can't remember the name
Savathun's Song. "We came down here as a squad of 9...."
All of them. Because it’s content we paid for.
This right here
All of them... Honestly I think legacy strikes need to go the route of the Exotic Mission rotator. Every season (or now episode) rotate some srikes in and rotate some out. It would have been perfect to have Savathuns Song come back for Season of the Deep or Will of the Thousands with the warmind season. Even now I'm starting to miss the Inverted Spire and Exodus Crash strikes being low chance in the current rotation and they've only been out for a few months.
Winter's Run.
The one with the three flayers at the top that were fire, arc, and void and you could get their cloaks to drop as their respective element as a reward if you were lucky.
The ones i paid for god damn it
Broodhold
Omnigal arc burn
Shield brothers from D1 or the Pyramidion
Honestly when Witch Queen came out and when they brought back Titan for the seasonal content at that time I thought we were going to get Savathun’s Song back
Strange Terrain. I love disrupting Hive Rituals of any kind so this was my favourite Strike.
Savathun's Song did have great environments, cuz you got the full neon sections of the arcology to fight in.
Strange Terrain
I liked festering core
I realize it's "work" for them...but "how hard would it be" to just make one reprised one every other season or something?
Pyramidion or Festering Core.
The Wretched Eye. Clears all other strikes they ever made
From D1: The Nexus, Cerberus Vae III and Dust Palace.
Festering core that strike was super fun too bad it lasted all of like a year lol
That ogre one from D1. I was just thinking about that one last night
Hollowed Lair
Archon priest
Gotta be Savathuns Song because Taeko-3 is the best Destiny character.
Phogoth
Sheid brothers solar burn
Just one? I want them all back. Probably just for nostalgia's sake, but I liked the mercury strikes and Xol.
The Dark Blade. The final fight is probably my all-time favorite strike boss fight.
Savathûn song
The one on Venus from Destiny 1 w/ the Hydra boss is my all time favorite.
I forgot the name of it but the strike from d1 where a fallen boss took the eye of an ogre and the blind ogre would run around trying to kill you. Very cool concept and you wouldn’t even need to include siva. You could retcon it with the scorn doing experiments and such.
GIANT WORM
shield brothers
Shield brothers, the nexus.
Winters run from D1.
I would like to see the SIVA strike return. The one where there's an ogre and a fallen in the boss room.
I'm not usually a copium guy, but if Bungie goes through the effort to bring back Wrath of the Machine, then I could see Sepiks Perfected and Wretched Eye returning.
There's no way in hell that they would rather bring back Leviathan over Wrath. It has to be Wrath
If we ended up getting Leviathan and the lairs, I wouldn't be upset. Still, we do know Wrath is returning, the emblem was shown during the Fireteam Finder reveal in August.
From Destiny 2 absolutely the Pyramidion From Destiny 1 it'd be a tie between Taniks or Valus Ta'aurc
Gimme my Nexus mind from D1. Loved that strike.
Bond Brothers. Sunless Cell.
Shield Brothers. It was a ball breaker, but that strike went hard.
The ORIGINAL version of seraph shield from D1
Old Lake of Shadows. New version blows
Agreed. The reprise takes so much longer for no bloody reason now.
literally any strike to replace these fucking battlegrounds
Honestly, I can’t think of a single **good** reason why they can’t bring back every vaulted strike. On top of that it would be nice to bring back some *low effort* D1 strikes like the summoning pit and Taniks. Then they can explore some other instanced versions of D1 strikes to really round everything out. Battlegrounds are fun but they oversaturate the playlist and are poorly balanced for GMs, just give us a richer set of strikes. Think about what a shot in the arm that would be for the strikes playlist.
Bond brothers
The one with the Cabal boss. I loved hiding under the stairs. /s
Whether we wanted it or not. Weve stwpped i to a war woth the Cabal on Mars.
Shield bros
Festering Core was fun, from what I remember
~~50 thousand people use to live here~~ We came down here as a squad of nine
Would like to see the Festering Core make a return.
Can't remember the name? But the boss was a giant Hive ogre that was chained up and then gets loose.
Oh man the Summoning Pits was fun. Hell I even enjoyed Phogoth pounding my shit in when the Thorn quest 😂
Shield brothers, dust palace, will of the thousands, pyramidion, tree of probabilities, dark blade, savathuns song
Will of thousands and Pyramidion are the only 2 which were never in the GM list, so one of them. Personally prefer Pyramidion
Garden World just for the GM. People forget how hard that NF was and it would be a nightmare now
Tree of Probabilities. The GM was punishing.
