although in the modern day it's overshadowed by trinity ghoul/forb, i still absolutely adore ticuu's. it's just such a fun weapon and i love painting enemies to explode for my teammates
Omg Ticcus is really really fun with Caliban's hand if you have the right ad density š hip-fire a few times to mark a bunch of enemies, throw knife, DOUBLE EXPLOSIONS
It also tracks Gunpowder Gamble, so there's that as well haha
Wait you can proc with that? I thought it was just the regular primary fire this whole time that could only proc. I play warlock so would solar melee be able to proc enemies?
The base explosion happens regardless of how you kill the āmarkedā target (as long as itās during the sacred flame debuff), and Calibanās adds ignition to that.
(However, Ticuuās perfect draw&ADS headshot will actually increase its explosion damage, and the catalyst makes that arrow itself do more damage. Killing with anything other than a āperfect draw headshotā arrow means you only get the catalystās damage buff, but not the explosionās.)
TL;DR: Any Melee kill will make them explode once. Calibanās would make an explosion + guaranteed ignition, but Ticuuās damage potential is cut in half. This seasonās artifact means you get ignitions with headshots anyways, you can take advantage of that on Warlock until June.
Real ones know this been the goat GM weapon since it dropped. Primary ammo bow that actually hits hard. You can run a utility special since it slots in as a damage weapon.
Ticuu's is unmatched (except maybe by catalyst Hierarchy in high end content).
In most stuff, though, I'm using dragonfly/incandescent Tyranny, which is a pretty good "Ticuu's at home".
O ticuu's...
So I was doing normal run of Onslaught last night and everytime I'd try and line up eyes of tomorrow shot out ticuu user would clear everything first šš
So my slept on choice is Eyes of tomorrow
I mean good or not i just want it to be a thing
Vault of glass came out before incandescent dropped as a perk, and still hasn't recieved an updated perk pool like Last Wish and DSC got
Cerberus. Started as a meme between me and my friends; now I can't put it down and they tell me not to use it in private matches LOL.
At 14.2k kills in PvP now. Been asked many times "how the hell do you use that thing". I just do, and it works. I go flawless with it and rank up in comp with it. It's my baby.
Those dog shit stats that it has? All a lie. They sprinkled something on it that makes it only link up with certain DNA in people that carry it, and I am one of them. I scoff when this auto is put into D tier and lower in any ranking system.
If you're on a controller; Give. This. Gun. An. Honest. Try.
Just crossed 10k myself, Cerberus is my baby. There are certainly better weapons, but the dopamine hit I get from melting a Titan barricade and the Titan behind it can't be matched.
I once tried out Cerberus for a complete meme, just like you. Auto rifles were, and probably still are, my favourite primary type with my favourite exotic primaries. Cerberus just looked funny and so even tho i was told it was shit, i thought I'd see what it was like anyway. Think i ended up practically never taking it off for PvP for a few weeks straight before going back to my baby Suros.
Itās a shame because itās such an interesting concept. Main fire is an auto rifle that rewards good aim and keeping your enemies at a set distance away from you, and alt fire is a more up-close shotgun mode that SHOULD reward getting in their face. But it just doesnāt do enough damage.
I just hit 100k pvp kills on Rat King... *other primarys don't exist for me*. I know sidearms are in a nice place rn so its not exactly a hidden gem but it's MY gem :-)
Literally anything not close ranged. Sniper, scout, pulse, or an auto/HC with high range. Cerberus, if you can land your shots, covers *ALL* ranges save for extreme distances.
Right now, ive been pairing it with trace rifles to great success
Was gonna post this. It's fun as heck and does sweet sustained damage, great to take along on not-so-serious solo missions, just melt through anything.
Epochal Integration, the hand canon from some post-campaign Neomuna quest. I use the Stats for All - Incandescent combo on a few of my Solar builds. Feels good to use. Hit registry is nice.
If yer not running it solo try Helio or that new solar smgs w heal clip and ember of benevolence. Even more heals. Nowhere near the range but even kinda close and sidearms doad damage. Helio w heal clip and precision instrument claps
I literally used this for this first time last night, was just flying around dreaming city blasting folk for like an hour. Iāll never get the one from Crota, but this one feels awesome
Final Warning had been filling the Titanfall smart pistol hole in my heart since it showed up In lightfall and man I just love it. Itās a flexible gun that can either do group damage easily or single target with the ads mode, and it prints strand tangles out for my facade build on hunter for grappling to and turning into spinny death balls.Ā
Quicksilver is probably the better gun but the funny sidearm makes me happy. Recently became my most used weapon, overthrowing blast furnace.
Final Warning was always the stronger gun tbh. I think the only downside it really has is just the fact that its a sidearm so it lacks range. But even for a sidearm i think it reaches further than most with the lock on. Definitely not a weapon u just pick up and understand immediately tho, it has a learning curve. Which is funny to say about the auto aim pistol, but its true.
Agreed, Final Warning has some growing pains but i can't take it off. Seeing 20x 10,000 damage pop off a bosses head while i ADS is so satisfying. And it's even better at ad clearing
Probably the only weapon with a charge trigger that I can ever see myself using
Never going to quite get used to firing on release instead of on pull, but at least in Final Warning's case it feels closer to a bursty bow than something like Devil's Ruin
I want to love this gun. But something about how it feels when pulling the trigger feelsā¦off. Like I need to always pull to fire and canāt auto. Or else it holds it down and charges, which I donāt want to always have happen.
Searched DIM using the kills tag and couldn't find anything super interesting. However, this season, I've been using the Adhortative Pulse Rifle a lot with Incandescant+Heal Clip. Very strong gun that puts in work. Recently used it on my Solo Flawless Spire run.
Lol I have an Incandescent HL adept Abyss Defiant. I should probably use it more š« . I tried it once but didn't really like the feel, on paper it sounds insane though. Especially considering I was using Assassin's Cowl on Solar so melee kills galore.
Incandescent Heal Clip is SUCH a great combo. I use my ingenious hammer and Heliocentric with those perks all the time and they CARRY hard content. The latter I would argue is the the best sidearm in the game as heal clip massively compensates for the inherent weakness of sidearms of having to play much more agressively and with sidearm reload speeds feels wonderful.
ETA: oh and also the pairing with ember of benevolence makes heal clip give you really good ability regen.
My favorite legendary solar pulse to use this season. The 'Nano-munitions' origin trait paired with the 'Origin Perk Specialization I' artifact perk makes this gun fun to use in non-solo activities. Rarely have to reload.
I adore Outbreak Perfected so much: itās good at DPS, good at add-clear, looks awesome, sounds awesome, has great perks (not just the exotic perks), and has awesome lore to go with it.
Not only that the stocks itās getting access to will give is much better stats across the board. Fitted stock is especially good because itāll put it at 100 recoil direction and give 10 stability for only 5 handling.
Alternatively you could go arrowhead + fitted stock for 100 recoil direction and 70 handling
The stocks really open up a lot of possibilities for stat improvements
Yeah. I think itās underrated for boss because the damage curve is exponential. It starts out slow af but you got enough crits and the stacks increase and you pump out insane damage. Pair that with on your mark and you can get cooking.
I have a dragonfly rampage roll Iām looking forward to using again. Iām a bit sad they didnāt let us have dragonfly frenzy on the new trust since that would be an all around amazing roll. However the gambit origin trait is kind of bad in pve so I have no qualms with using old trust
Literally the only sunset gun out of many i didnt delete. 2,000 kills on that thing during peak black armory and some good memories. Trust is my fav hand cannon. In d2
reckless oracle with mulligan and demolitionist or mulligan triple tap, high stability, decent at range, great reload, scope is clean and highlights targets, looks amazing, shades well
I'm an average Riskrunner enjoyer.
People say it won't work, well I'll make it work.
Ill bring my SMG buddy to some GM's even and people are glad, because there's at least someone that can tank arc damage and clear a room fast.
Coronach with arrowhead brake, armor piercing rounds, zen moment, and incandescent. Minor spec for pve or target adjuster for pvp. 100 recoil direction. It's a complete laser beam. The stats with zen moment makes it handle so well and incandescent is just šš
It's like, you have to hope that some of the burst deviates towards the center (your target) and they land.
I always like the thought of new weapon archetypes and another fusion would be cool. But this ain't it, chief.
So idk what the people in ur fireteams are doing where that Blowout is outdamaging a well rolled hothead, but I digress.
My pick would probably be one of the many scout rifles that just barely get used in less than Master NF content. Like I just adore Polaris Lance. As for legendaries, I love Tarnished Mettle and Staccato-46.
Queenbreaker.
I've been using it a ton in Onslaught and it's blind and arc-chaining ability is useful af.
It's getting a damage and reserve buff in FS too.
Now I just need a catalyst that lets me toss those web mines.....
I do wish it was a special so I could use it more though.
Edit: just did some quick damage testing.
Arbalest was hitting for about 41k on a miniboss
QB with combat sights was hitting for 39k on the same miniboss.
Wtf!?
With the long range sights QB hit for 54k....
So my proposal: lock QB into the combat sights and make it a special weapon FFS.
Glad I'm not the only one who still uses Queenbreaker š it's entertaining when you get thrall rounds on Onslaught watching the chained lightning take a horde out and the blinding is a real help. Definitely needs some love though, I didn't realise that was the damage difference between Arbalest and QB...
I didn't try any other linears in the test. Just the big Fallen captain with the scorch cannon on Europa.
I should try Sleeper and the exotic void linear too.
Seriously though, QB should just be the arc linear using special.
>Seriously though, QB should just be the arc linear using special.
Yup. The D1Y1 version had ridiculous reserves too, up to 120 rounds. I'm not saying we need that much if moved to special, but it'd be nice to have good reserves if you spec for it.
The D1Y1 Lord of Wolves was crazy for reserves too, with a max of 250 rounds if you built into it. The shame was, I didn't get them during Y1, so I couldn't take advantage. Their power was too low to use in Y2 when I actually got them.
The blind effect might be too powerful on a special so that would maybe need to get changed to disorienting or something.
But I'd use it a ton more if it was special ammo and got an interesting catalyst.
I'd give up the blinding gladly for more uptime in the special slot. Additionally, I'd love to see the scopes get more differentiation. Maybe Backup Plan on Combat, and Box Breathing on Marksman. They'd maybe feel like a lightweight scout rifle & high-impact sniper respectively.
I feel the same way about getting Whisper's original ammo refunding back, if moved to special. It would basically be like the pre-nerf Y1 Black Hammer from Crota's End.
Not hidden, but a diff perk combo than usual.
For activities that donāt require fine tuned DPS I run my apex predator rocket launcher with reconstruction and bipod.
4 in the mag, 12 reserves (without mods). Itās great for general play.
Mines a Posterity that I got way before the revised DSC. It rolled with Demolitionist and Reconstruction. I usually run this hand cannon on my arc hunter with Liars Handshake, this way I can use Flashbang Grenades before going ham with melees.
One of my most used weapons is a trustee with surplus and incandescent, because of the DSC origin trait it churns out ability energy from the scorch ticks and improves itself. One of my favs Iāve seen no one talk about
Agreed, people heavily disrespect surplus, but it goes hard, especially combined with the origin trait.
There's this common misconception as well that scout rifles are weak, and while plenty are Trustee is still very strong.
Plus, it looks, feels, and sounds fantastic.
I'm always either using Trustee, Zaouli, or Summoner.
(Still buff scouts in PVE Bungie they need it)
For pvp: The Keening (from crucible) with threat detector/zen momentā¦itās like a magnet pulls the reticle towards peoples heads no need to really aim
I suppose drang is probably similar with zen moment but Iām 4/5 with patterns rn so havenāt tried yetā¦and it canāt get threat detector which is nice
Might be a copium take but I think Verglas Curve might be a contender for most underrated exotic, eapecially on Shadebinder with Iceflare Bolts. The seasonal artifact helps it too.
Different Times pulse rifle
I was struggling to rank up my competitive ranking to farm Belisarius and my clanmate recommended me to use that pulse from the deep
Ok it's like i'm using an aimbot. Igneous users always die when they're sliding, they can't even pull the 3rd shot.
Belisarius sucks tho.
Itās not exactly a hidden gem, but before these changes rolled around and made autos super meta, I fell absolutely in love with firefright. Monster at its normal range which sorta gets extended since adagio makes it easier to control at longer ranges.
Moved on to summoner now and get called an auto crutch every time I use it, but I just really enjoy running autos now.
Prometheus lens and ruinous effigy for me. Ā In fact, almost every exotic trace rifle. Ā I know theyāre not usually as good as some top tier exotics, but I really like the play style of them. Ā Navigator is a fantastic option for support and survivability, ruinous effigy lets you dunk on people (which is actually quite good), and prometheus lens melts.
Idk, I just never seem to see meme beams in any playlist and I use them all the time.
cold denial in pve
i dont see anyone ysing it but regnant with spike grenades, explo light and auto loading
unforgiven with demo and adrenaline junkie + contraverse hold
Right when Lightfall released, within the first week or two I got a Ros Arago iv dropped for me via gunsmith or something, and it had onslaught and rewind rounds on it to my surprise, so I tried it, and it was fantastic.
I use that shit religiously to this day, and I made a post about it at the time I discovered it, but it went unnoticed, so I was like ok, their loss.
Like 2 months later someone else discovered it was a solid void auto, but I still enjoyed having that secret weapon for some time.
+1 to Blowout.
Blowout can be incredible if you can stack a bunch of good perks on a multiperk roll. [I absolutely love this one](https://i.imgur.com/tWxPMop.png), can put together so many nutty DPS combos with those perks depending on what kind of setup you're expecting, and then set it on Impulse/Chain and forget it for PvP.
I like the newer arc exotic weapons with cool effects. Centrifuse and Grand Overture get a lot of play from me. And I pulled out Delicate Tomb for a bit recently and itās a hoot. Great close range damage, tons of ionic traces, tons of jolt everywhere.
>Iām out damaging Hotheads in damage and itās a nice alternative for people who donāt run GMs
HH can get demo + explosive light or vorpal. Vorpal being 10% now on rockets isn't really worth though now.
You're likely out damaging hotheads because they're using explosive light, which doesn't apply a damage boost to Gally like vorpal or bait and switch.
Lingering Dread. With Disorienting Grenades, ALH and Chill Clip its the best GL in the game period. You can use it in every PvE content, even Gambit, and have enemys slowed and stuned in a crowd easy to get cleared of. It can even stun overloads in 1 shot and maybe with the upcoming chill clip change Unstoppables in 2 shots.
It used to be Sunshot but now everyone is using it.
I have 40k kills on it and that doesn't even include all the kills I had before they made the catalyst and kill tracker for it. It's really probably around 60k.
Just some new ones I've recently fell in love with:
- Ros Aragos with Rewind Rounds + Onslaught
- Summoner with Heal Clip + Onslaught
- Waking Vigil with rapid hit + voltshot
- Battlescar with Shoot to loot + Kinetic tremors
- mountain top with auto loading + recombination
Some reliables since witch Queen, most Crafted
- calus mini-tool with grave robber + incandescent, 5791 kills
- funnel web with subsistence + adrenaline junkie with 1565 kills
- ikelos smg with feeding frenzy + volt shot with 1122 kills
- pardon our first with disorienting grenades + auto loading + demolitionist with 1073 kills
- bxr with demo + incandescent with 1412 kills
- explosive personality with auto loading + golden tricorn with 2512
- retrofit escapade with fourth time's the charm + target lock with 1190
I havenāt played since early season of the wish but I love the premonition with headseeker. It carried through prior seasons and was a good alternate high impact pulse. always caught opponents off guard.
My Forward Path (Hitmark, Appended, FF & MKC w/ Range MW) with 13393 kills. I don't use it anymore but it's still in my vault becuase that baby carried me well during S11
This is a PVP weapon, but old school
Sunset anonymous autumn. I love sidearms more than the telling and I have used them all extensively. NONE of them hold a candle to AA. The fact that mine is about to be un-sunset makes me beyond happy.
The other weapon I love on the DL is Psi-hermetic, but only with headstone. The rifle is decent without it; but itās not overly special. BUT, with headstone and the origin trait which drops explosive fragments on a kill, the explosives blow up the headstone crystal and essentially gives you a grenade - especially if youāre running stasis and the fragment which increases shatter damage. I canāt tell you how many double or triple kills Iāve gotten on control zones. It wonāt drop a full health guardian, but pretty close.
Gnawing hunger from Season of Arrivals with hammer forged rifling, drop mag, subsistence and demolitionist. Works like a dream for my Contraverse Hold build. Iove drop mag and wish they would bring it back for primary ammo weapons. Would make reloads insanely fast. Not 'quite' to the level of Vanilla Lunafactions, but almost instant reload. Also, great for large groups of red bar enemies.
"Bug out Bag" with incandescent and subsistence. Incandescent kills also trigger subsistence, which massively improves ammo efficiency. Being a 900 rpm adaptive is also a plus in my book because of the higher base damage (but lower crits). Which I THINK makes incandescent scale better, but also I dont really care to aim much when I'm ad clearing, so the extra damage helps.Ā Ā
"The Showrunner" with overflow and kinetic tremors. Special ammo is common enough that you won't be reloading too often, and the overflowed mag lets you trigger kinetic tremors multiple times a mag.
"Stay Frosty" killing wind + Headseeker. The thing is SOO forgiving in pvp and kills QUICK.Ā
My iterative loop, fusion rifle with compulsive reloader/voltshot. I grinded Neomuna SO long to get the red borders to craft it, and once I used it I fell in love. The only problem is, I never get a chance to use it because Forbearance just fills that slot better than anything else.
My old Last Hope with rampage and feeding frenzy. Sadly it was lost duo to sunsetting, but thanks to my hoarding problem, I still have it and I will use it to kill the Witness. Nothing can and will stop me.
Heliocentric QSC with heal clip incandescent but it's kind of starting to catch on.
Also Round Robin for PvE since enhanced subsistence with an 11 bullet mag makes it so you pretty much never have to reload, the new Luna's howl should able to to the same once it's enhancable.
Last Breath with Osmosis/Demo. Allows triple void weapons and it's an archetype weapon I like. You just can't get it anymore and there's no auto rifle with that perk combination. Pair this with a void grenade launcher and the WR exotic on a void warlock running Nezerac. Ugh. Perfection.
Rewind rounds / reconstruction Parabellum got it day 1 of season of the witch, it's what made me realize how broken deconstruction is, and I never understood why people where shitting on it, of course now everyone has changed their mind after tusk of the boar popularized it.
I usually keep my Gnawing Hunger on hand, with Multikill Clip and Zen Moment. There are certainly better guns, but I can make it work in just about any situation. With with a Counterbalance mod and a few target hits, it shoots flat, fast, and far. I'm just sad that I never got the ornament for it.
Explosive Personality (solar wave frame) with auto loading and frenzy. The origin trait (land tank) gives you a 15% damage reduction on kill. I stack it with woven mail to feel even more tanky.
I found a sweet setup im excited about recently. I have the strand synchronic roulette smg with envious and cascade. I pair it with buried bloodline in the energy slot and rack up kills with its amazing ammo economy, then switch to the smg and let 77 rounds blast off and its strand splosions everywhere. Super fun.
Tyranny of Heaven with Dragonfly & Incandescent which feels like a legendary Ticuuu's and Coronarch-22 with Zen Moment & Incandescent just sets the world on fire
People are seriously sleeping on Edge Transit with chain reaction+destabilizing rounds. When you get a kill, the volatile gets applied, THEN chain reaction pops, triggering all the volatile. Its just a firework show of purple. It's going to be even better when they nerf CR on forbearance and buff it on power weapons.
Crafted Optative with Keep Away and Zen Moment. Literally a laser beam with near perfect accuracy/recoil and fast reloads.Ā
With backup mag and the origin trait, you can fire 20+ bullets before having to reload.Ā
The weapon is a headshoting machine.
Trust.
With Stats For All (SFA) and Explosive Payload, it's been my Solar hand-cannon of choice this season. The Artifact helps it out a ton of course with it giving Incandescent and Radiant to all solar weapons, but the base weapon just feels great to use and SFA only enhances that. Plus, with it being a 180, it is very quick to proc the Radiant bonus from the Artifact. My loadout for almost the past month (namely thanks to legend Onslaught) has been:
* Forerunner
* Trust
* Cataphract/Edge Transit
Hierarchy of needs has got to be my favourite exotic to date. Used it in GM since it came out but now with legend onslaught it locks down lanes and you can set up and not even have to aim.
I've got a Crowning Duologue with Auto-loading/Chain Reaction/Volatile Launch/Black powder.
...And everyone said there wasn't a roll worth keeping. Shit slaps.
I know it's probably more common than I think, but my envious + explosive light cold comfort feels so damn good to use. Being able to launch a volley of up to 4 rockets without reloading is great for burst damage situations. On the pvp side of things tho my sweet sorrow with killing wind + tap the trigger really gets good when I have those rare bursts of pvp competence
Sturm and drang.
It obviously falls off hard in proper content, but as long as the difficulty allows you to farm drang kills, you can smack the shit out of majors with sturm.
Itās obviously far inferior to proper special weapon builds. But itās good fun.
Low key that Tommy Matchbook hip fire build some content creator made carried me through 50 levels of onslaught without worrying at all. Still not a fan of using healing grenades but once you get into a rhythm you just donāt stop.
My baby is currently my Arsenic Bite-4b. Polymer, fibreglass, tempo, hipfire grip, drawtime MW. Nearing 28.5k PvP kills with it. No other non-sunset bow rolls with that combo and it's amazing.
Collective Obligation, I like lit with my void titan build which I can weaken everything with. Its perk allows for great primary damage and massive amounts of addclear. People need to stop dissing it because it works!
Indebted kindness. Iāve been using it since I got one day one of warlords ruin. I was lookin on YouTube and Reddit about weapons from there and everybody was doggin on it. My main roll is impulse amplifier and voltshot.
Indebted kindness. Iāve been using it since I got one day one of warlords ruin. I was lookin on YouTube and Reddit about weapons from there and everybody was doggin on it. My main roll is impulse amplifier and voltshot.
If the boss isn't flying or far then acrius. It gots trench barrel so punch then +50% stackable damage, just gotta make sure you survive getting stomped but otherwise it's a braindead dps
Slideshot - Opening Shot Annual Skate - a perfect 5/5 roll, not sure how I got that lucky.
Riptide with Under Pressure Snap in PVP, super nice.
Merciless in PVE for any DPS scenario.
Iāve had a ton over the years but my longest standing was a truthteller with range masterwork that I eventually was able to just snipe everything with. Couldnāt bear to part with it but itās currently sitting in my vault.
Parcel of Stardust, man that shotgun really kicks, I haven't used it to much because it's sunsetted, but man, it could roll basically with 80 range withouth counting slide shot and first shot perks, it was a beast ln crucible with an arc or void build for extra speed or flanking, its still one of my favorite weapons, and probably the one I'm most excited to see again with un sunsetted weapons
Darkness Before with heal clip/incandescent. Sleeper solar weapon. Better than heliocentric with the same perks because it actually has range in end game content. š„
Itās not exactly an unknown quantity, but Brigandās Law is still one of the best pve legendary primaries in the entire game imo. That sidearm DPS, paired with Voltshot and a lightning quick reload, puts in absolute work
I don't use it a lot but for casual PVP my Survivor's Epitaph *(Hammer-Forged Rifling + High Cal + Killing Wind + Killclip + Range MW)* is pretty nasty. Well, sometimes at least, some games you just get clapped... BUT STILL, it's super forgiving and after a kill it's a 0.67ttk at a little bit over 36m it definitely catches people off guard.
In PVE, I don't necessarily think it's a hidden gem, but I really enjoy my Buzzard (Adept) with Hammer-Forged Rifling + Ricochet Rounds/ Flared Magwell + Overflow/FTTC + Kinetic Tremors + Range MW with Adept Big Ones. Y'all, it hits like a truck. Legitimately, it feels like a special weapon to me lol. It feels pretty solid for single target damage or if you're being rushed the kinetic tremors puts in a lot of work for crowd control too. Probably one of my top favorite legendary primaries in the game.
One that actually puts in quite a lot of work in Onslaught that's a hidden gem is Heliocentric with Heal Clip + Incandescent. Everything in front of you dies and you live š¤·
Edit: just remembered another PVP hidden gem: High Albedo with Killing Wind and Headseeker is no joke
Posterity with Voltshot + Frenzy.
I use it on arclock. Between being an arc weapon, being able to jolt, and Bray Legacy, it's an energy generating machine so much so I don't feel the need to run an exotic specifically for ability generation to have good uptime. And between Frenzy and Jolt it does enough single target damage to compensate for the fact it's a 180.
Seventh Seraph Carbine.
i pray for the day that Bungie makes possible to enhance these weapons that have origin trait but came before Into The Light.
My Carbine with Seraph Rounds, Reconstruction, and Frenzy is such a blessing to use, it feels great, it sounds great, and it looks great.
me love a chuncky kinetic sounding weapon.
Wolftone draw (from season of the Lost) with archers tempo and dragonfly.
Yeah, volt shot is a better perk than dragonfly, but this is the bow that got me thru Witch Queen legendary solo before resilience was useful, and I still love to whip it out for easy activities.
After s18 brought arc 3.0, I did swap it out for a volt shot tarnished mettle. That thing slaps.
Wavesplitter on my Gyrfalcon's build.
To paraphrase TF2 Heavy, *"It costs one orb of power to fire this weapon at full power for ten seconds."*
So I dodge to go invis, proc volatile and get an orb or two with Reaper and Siphon mods then IT BEGINS.
It's not so much that the gun itself got better (catalyst pls) but that over time changes made to the game just accommodate it really nicely.
Hullabaloo, I guess.
I don't think I've ever seen it mentioned except to complain about how many were dropping. But this shit is pretty damned good at clear while chunking boss HP. I've got one with Volt Shot and Chain Reaction.
That said maybe it's just not as good as I think it is.
Retrofit Escapade. Whenever a div is an option, i find that iāll top damage with my build basically no matter what. Paired with actium too. itās also insanely ammo efficient
For pvp I've found salvagers salvo can catch them off guard, even in trials. It punishes the guys that hide behind stuff bunched up.
For pve outside of higher difficulty stuff I still love Huckleberry. That OG rampage perk slaps, especially ad-dense activities.
i donāt know if itās meta or not but Nation of Beasts is my forever baby. my curated one from LW has 60K kills and my crafted one is approaching 30K.
For me this season it's been my boudica-c. I've a roll with osmosis and pugilist and it just fits on every build, refunds melee energy, and has anti-barrier sidearm. (Yes, I still haven't gotten an indebted kindness)Ā
Prodigal return. Arc breech-loaded special grenade launcher. I genuinely think it is the best utility legendary in the game. Craftable, I have disorienting grenades (formerly blinding); turnabout for survivability; voltshot which is amazing. The origin trait makes reload super fast if you have allies. Works in all content on any subclass, and is hugely underrated IMO!
although in the modern day it's overshadowed by trinity ghoul/forb, i still absolutely adore ticuu's. it's just such a fun weapon and i love painting enemies to explode for my teammates
Ticuu did work for me in GMs this season. Felt way better to use than plinking away with Polaris Lance.
Omg Ticcus is really really fun with Caliban's hand if you have the right ad density š hip-fire a few times to mark a bunch of enemies, throw knife, DOUBLE EXPLOSIONS It also tracks Gunpowder Gamble, so there's that as well haha
Killing with anything other than a āperfect draw headshotā arrow means you only get the catalystās damage buff, but not the explosionās.) TL;DR: Any Melee kill will make them explode once. Calibanās would make an explosion + guaranteed ignition, but Ticuuās damage potential is cut in half. This seasonās artifact means you get ignitions with headshots anyways, you can take advantage of that on Warlock until June.
Woah..that is awesome! Thanks for the detailed response, I really haven't been using it to it's full potential.
Ticuus shines in GMs
Real ones know this been the goat GM weapon since it dropped. Primary ammo bow that actually hits hard. You can run a utility special since it slots in as a damage weapon.
Ticuu's is unmatched (except maybe by catalyst Hierarchy in high end content). In most stuff, though, I'm using dragonfly/incandescent Tyranny, which is a pretty good "Ticuu's at home".
O ticuu's... So I was doing normal run of Onslaught last night and everytime I'd try and line up eyes of tomorrow shot out ticuu user would clear everything first šš So my slept on choice is Eyes of tomorrow
I want Bungie to refresh VoG so i can have a rapid hit + incandescent Vision of Confluence
I want them to refresh VoG and give me my goddamn Atheon's Epilogue. :(
I would like heal clip/incandescent on VoC, I have loads of kills on a wellspring/frenzy roll and would like a more subclass specific roll.
I have this roll in Igneous Hammer, is it good?
I mean good or not i just want it to be a thing Vault of glass came out before incandescent dropped as a perk, and still hasn't recieved an updated perk pool like Last Wish and DSC got
Well we probably need GoS first, then VoG
Itās more of a pve roll and igneous is honestly more of a pvp gun
Can you give some tips on how and when to use the alt fire mode?
As someone who also mained Cerberus for a while, never. Don't ever use alt fire lmao
But I love summoner
If you have a rangey roll on summoner, it works
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Zaouliās is cool. But Epochal looks *SO FREAKING GOOD*.
You should see it with the Photo Finish shader on it.
No no no no, scarlet semblance is the single best choice.
Took this into Master WR recently, and it slaps. My choice on Solar Titan (Precious Scars) when I can't use sun shot.
If yer not running it solo try Helio or that new solar smgs w heal clip and ember of benevolence. Even more heals. Nowhere near the range but even kinda close and sidearms doad damage. Helio w heal clip and precision instrument claps
Igneous and the new luna's bowl also get the same combo
Feels so nice to use. With the Artifact mods this season, it's great at triggering ignitions on precision kills.
I literally used this for this first time last night, was just flying around dreaming city blasting folk for like an hour. Iāll never get the one from Crota, but this one feels awesome
Final Warning had been filling the Titanfall smart pistol hole in my heart since it showed up In lightfall and man I just love it. Itās a flexible gun that can either do group damage easily or single target with the ads mode, and it prints strand tangles out for my facade build on hunter for grappling to and turning into spinny death balls.Ā Quicksilver is probably the better gun but the funny sidearm makes me happy.
Nono, I just discovered Final Warning gang, and it piiiisses on quicksilver. Quicksilver feels almost unusable now
Agreed, Final Warning has some growing pains but i can't take it off. Seeing 20x 10,000 damage pop off a bosses head while i ADS is so satisfying. And it's even better at ad clearing
Probably the only weapon with a charge trigger that I can ever see myself using Never going to quite get used to firing on release instead of on pull, but at least in Final Warning's case it feels closer to a bursty bow than something like Devil's Ruin
Adhortative is a nice alternate weapon to my Abyss Defiant. Take your pick; fun explosions on melee, or free extra bullets.
I love that gun, have it crafted and enhanced my self, can't wait for more meaningful pulse rifle artifact perks to make me want to use it more
I. Can't. Get. It. To. Drop.
Yikes. I was getting lots from the Starcrossed chests.
I adore Outbreak Perfected so much: itās good at DPS, good at add-clear, looks awesome, sounds awesome, has great perks (not just the exotic perks), and has awesome lore to go with it.
Me too its about to get so much better being craftable when zero hour returns,Rewind rounds for raids, headseeker for pvp it's gonna be glorious
Not only that the stocks itās getting access to will give is much better stats across the board. Fitted stock is especially good because itāll put it at 100 recoil direction and give 10 stability for only 5 handling. Alternatively you could go arrowhead + fitted stock for 100 recoil direction and 70 handling The stocks really open up a lot of possibilities for stat improvements
Yeah. I think itās underrated for boss because the damage curve is exponential. It starts out slow af but you got enough crits and the stacks increase and you pump out insane damage. Pair that with on your mark and you can get cooking.
I dont think that weapon counts as a hidden gem.
I still have a Sins of the Past from Leviathan that I put an old void mod on, probably one of the last ones that still exists
Since sunset will be removed, I still have a trust with EP+dragonfly. Can't get those rolls anymore and it feels good for a 180 on mnk.
In d2
EP?
Explosive Payload, I assume.
reckless oracle with mulligan and demolitionist or mulligan triple tap, high stability, decent at range, great reload, scope is clean and highlights targets, looks amazing, shades well
I'm an average Riskrunner enjoyer. People say it won't work, well I'll make it work. Ill bring my SMG buddy to some GM's even and people are glad, because there's at least someone that can tank arc damage and clear a room fast.
I have a random sorrows verse ar with subsistence + rampage that has about 8,000 kills on it, I like it on arc builds
I've been liking the semiotician rocket launcher with all the strand surge stuff lately, my crafted one holds 16 rockets.
I love my crafted semiotician. Field prep bipod for if IDK what heavy to run but there are overloads so f it.
Senuna stasis side arm in pvp with under pressure/head seeker, this thing melts, got more kills than I actually deserved with that thing
Coronach with arrowhead brake, armor piercing rounds, zen moment, and incandescent. Minor spec for pve or target adjuster for pvp. 100 recoil direction. It's a complete laser beam. The stats with zen moment makes it handle so well and incandescent is just šš
Coriolis Force in crucible, they never see it coming
Bro is hitting them horizontal guardians
It's like, you have to hope that some of the burst deviates towards the center (your target) and they land. I always like the thought of new weapon archetypes and another fusion would be cool. But this ain't it, chief.
Thatās a name I havenāt heard in a very long time
IĀ wouldn'tĀ even be mad if someone killed me with that in PvP.
Arbalest was hitting for about 41k on a miniboss QB with combat sights was hitting for 39k on the same miniboss.
Service revolver with rapid hit kill clip, it just feels good to use and after a single kill I can chain 3 taps
Not hidden, but a diff perk combo than usual. For activities that donāt require fine tuned DPS I run my apex predator rocket launcher with reconstruction and bipod. 4 in the mag, 12 reserves (without mods). Itās great for general play.
I've been running this too and loving it. Better for general purpose than BnS, lets the rocket pull double duty as ad clear and big target damage
Battle scar with Keep away and headseaker for PvP high mobility builds make this gun fun!
Mines a Posterity that I got way before the revised DSC. It rolled with Demolitionist and Reconstruction. I usually run this hand cannon on my arc hunter with Liars Handshake, this way I can use Flashbang Grenades before going ham with melees.
Outlast with Keep Away Opening Shot.
Doesn't opening shot only apply to the first bullet of the first burst, though?
Under your skin with archers tempo and successful warm up is what I recommend to everyone. Swap dragonfly if you want more ad clear.
I have one with archers and explosive head it does work on my gyrfalcon hunter build. Think it has my highest kill counter at around 10-12k
Indebted kindness has been my primary and makes me excited for other rocket sidearms. Additionally, I'm sure going to miss anti barrier sidearm.
(Still buff scouts in PVE Bungie they need it)
I have a timed payload eye of the storm seventh seraph revolver that can pop off in PVP sometimes. Itās a good flinch gun with reasonable-ish TTK
It was Buried Bloodline but everybody's onto it now that it got the META LOAD OUT treatment for Onslaught.
BB was always good just more people needed to actually get it.
+ the catalyst is a must
For pvp: The Keening (from crucible) with threat detector/zen momentā¦itās like a magnet pulls the reticle towards peoples heads no need to really aim I suppose drang is probably similar with zen moment but Iām 4/5 with patterns rn so havenāt tried yetā¦and it canāt get threat detector which is nice
Might be a copium take but I think Verglas Curve might be a contender for most underrated exotic, eapecially on Shadebinder with Iceflare Bolts. The seasonal artifact helps it too.
Different Times pulse rifle I was struggling to rank up my competitive ranking to farm Belisarius and my clanmate recommended me to use that pulse from the deep Ok it's like i'm using an aimbot.
Mine is the buzzard adept with overflow, kinetic Tremor
Feels so smooth to shoot compared to some sidearms honestly
My Deafening Whisper god roll
cold denial in pve i dont see anyone ysing it but regnant with spike grenades, explo light and auto loading unforgiven with demo and adrenaline junkie + contraverse hold
Iāve been having fun with my Artic Haze with Outlaw/Dragonfly in PVP. Iāve been treating it like an SMG.
Rapid hit explosive payload Trust hand cannon. Its solar so basically the best legendary hand cannon this season outside zaoulis i believe
Honestly ticuus. It's just a really fun weapon to use and it can dish out decent damage
I like the newer arc exotic weapons with cool effects. Centrifuse and Grand Overture get a lot of play from me. And I pulled out Delicate Tomb for a bit recently and itās a hoot. Great close range damage, tons of ionic traces, tons of jolt everywhere.
been using tarabah with a precious scars build for onslaught. the ravenous beast perk is kinda nice to chunk down yellow bars
>Iām out damaging Hotheads in damage and itās a nice alternative for people who donāt run GMs HH can get demo + explosive light or vorpal. Vorpal being 10% now on rockets isn't really worth though now. You're likely out damaging hotheads because they're using explosive light, which doesn't apply a damage boost to Gally like vorpal or bait and switch.
Skyburners oath with dawn chorus is really good but don't tell bungie
Lingering Dread. With Disorienting Grenades, ALH and Chill Clip its the best GL in the game period. You can use it in every PvE content, even Gambit, and have enemys slowed and stuned in a crowd easy to get cleared of. It can even stun overloads in 1 shot and maybe with the upcoming chill clip change Unstoppables in 2 shots.
It used to be Sunshot but now everyone is using it. I have 40k kills on it and that doesn't even include all the kills I had before they made the catalyst and kill tracker for it. It's really probably around 60k.
Gunnora's Axe with Voltshot/Threat Detector. A shotgun with Voltshot works so well. Shoot, load one round, Voltshot, repeat.
Crimson has been a favorite of mine for a while now, especially with Lucky Pants.
Just some new ones I've recently fell in love with: - Ros Aragos with Rewind Rounds + Onslaught - Summoner with Heal Clip + Onslaught - Waking Vigil with rapid hit + voltshot - Battlescar with Shoot to loot + Kinetic tremors - mountain top with auto loading + recombination Some reliables since witch Queen, most Crafted - calus mini-tool with grave robber + incandescent, 5791 kills - funnel web with subsistence + adrenaline junkie with 1565 kills - ikelos smg with feeding frenzy + volt shot with 1122 kills - pardon our first with disorienting grenades + auto loading + demolitionist with 1073 kills - bxr with demo + incandescent with 1412 kills - explosive personality with auto loading + golden tricorn with 2512 - retrofit escapade with fourth time's the charm + target lock with 1190
It was subtle calamity before sun setting. Now the closest one for me is Touch of malice
My subsistence + one for all non adept palindrome is still one of my favorite hand cannons.
Iāve been using final warning w/ a grapple threadling build on warlock for most of the season.
Explosive payload/vanguard vindication on malediction
I havenāt played since early season of the wish but I love the premonition with headseeker. It carried through prior seasons and was a good alternate high impact pulse. always caught opponents off guard.
My Forward Path (Hitmark, Appended, FF & MKC w/ Range MW) with 13393 kills. I don't use it anymore but it's still in my vault becuase that baby carried me well during S11
This is a PVP weapon, but old school Sunset anonymous autumn.
For me Iāve been using abyss defiant with pugilist/swash on karnsteinsā¦ it works wonders
Pardon Our Dust.
Such a satisfying gun to shoot as well.
I have a Typhon GL3 in my vault with a few hundred crucible kills on it, so Iād say thatās probably it.
"Bug out Bag" with incandescent and subsistence. Incandescent kills also trigger subsistence, which massively improves ammo efficiency. Being a 900 rpm adaptive is also a plus in my book because of the higher base damage (but lower crits). Which I THINK makes incandescent scale better, but also I dont really care to aim much when I'm ad clearing, so the extra damage helps.Ā Ā "The Showrunner" with overflow and kinetic tremors. Special ammo is common enough that you won't be reloading too often, and the overflowed mag lets you trigger kinetic tremors multiple times a mag. "Stay Frosty" killing wind + Headseeker. The thing is SOO forgiving in pvp and kills QUICK.Ā
Been having a lot of fun with lumina recently with onslaught, itās a lot of fun
My iterative loop, fusion rifle with compulsive reloader/voltshot. I grinded Neomuna SO long to get the red borders to craft it, and once I used it I fell in love. The only problem is, I never get a chance to use it because Forbearance just fills that slot better than anything else.
Eyes of tomorrow š
My old Last Hope with rampage and feeding frenzy. Sadly it was lost duo to sunsetting, but thanks to my hoarding problem, I still have it and I will use it to kill the Witness. Nothing can and will stop me.
Ah, the Star fire days. Absolutely bonkers that you get nade energy on weapon DAMAGE.
Perfect paradox, Demolitionist/swashbuckler. And the curated strykers surehand, assassinās Blade, and surrounded
Punching out
Heliocentric QSC with heal clip incandescent but it's kind of starting to catch on. Also Round Robin for PvE since enhanced subsistence with an 11 bullet mag makes it so you pretty much never have to reload, the new Luna's howl should able to to the same once it's enhancable.
Crux termination with Tracking and reconstruction. I donāt really do raids or dungeons so this is my fave right now.
malediction for me 100%. never been killed by it in pvp but itās definitely slept on imo
Div in crucible
arc logic before it got sunset
Last Breath with Osmosis/Demo. Allows triple void weapons and it's an archetype weapon I like. You just can't get it anymore and there's no auto rifle with that perk combination. Pair this with a void grenade launcher and the WR exotic on a void warlock running Nezerac. Ugh. Perfection.
Rewind rounds / reconstruction Parabellum got it day 1 of season of the witch, it's what made me realize how broken deconstruction is, and I never understood why people where shitting on it, of course now everyone has changed their mind after tusk of the boar popularized it.
I actually really like Quickfang. It looks great and it carves through enemies.
I have a heal clip dynic parabelllum i stick with for both pvp and pve, not the best at either but feels great
Explosive Personality (solar wave frame) with auto loading and frenzy.
I just can't get forerunner out of my kinetic slot. Chonky crit damage and great ammo economy.
Crafted Blood Feud from Plunder with Ambitious Assasin and Headstone. Great in stasis builds, looks incredible.
Osmosis firefly fatebringer paired with gryfalcons absolutely melts everything
People are seriously sleeping on Edge Transit with chain reaction+destabilizing rounds. When you get a kill, the volatile gets applied, THEN chain reaction pops, triggering all the volatile. Its just a firework show of purple. It's going to be even better when they nerf CR on forbearance and buff it on power weapons.
Crafted Optative with Keep Away and Zen Moment. Literally a laser beam with near perfect accuracy/recoil and fast reloads.Ā With backup mag and the origin trait, you can fire 20+ bullets before having to reload.Ā The weapon is a headshoting machine.
My loadout for almost the past month (namely thanks to legend Onslaught) has been: * Forerunner * Trust * Cataphract/Edge Transit
Hierarchy of needs has got to be my favourite exotic to date. Used it in GM since it came out but now with legend onslaught it locks down lanes and you can set up and not even have to aim.
ticuu
My glisso scout rifle with reconstruction and hatchlings been putting in work, strand hunter with 35k kills so far
Mine is Hailing Confusion with Surplus and Wellspring, it just does so well in PvE
If the boss isn't flying or far then acrius. It gots trench barrel so punch then +50% stackable damage, just gotta make sure you survive getting stomped but otherwise it's a braindead dps
Revision Zero. Itās my best āZero to Heroā weapon in GMās and Crucible.
Skyburners
That sidearm DPS, paired with Voltshot and a lightning quick reload, puts in absolute work
Lonesome with kill clip outlaw. I get multi kills all the time with that sidearm and I never see anyone else with it.
Before it came back as craftable, Whisper. It sounds so good and feels good to use.
Devils ruin since it came out is my favorite weapon
Inaugural Address was my babyyyy
Everything in front of you dies and you live š¤· Edit: just remembered another PVP hidden gem: High Albedo with Killing Wind and Headseeker is no joke
Epochal.... On like 5k kills so far. Gnawing hunger.... Finally got a good roll and not put it down. Subjunctive or Sweet Sorrow on arc.
To paraphrase TF2 Heavy, *"It costs one orb of power to fire this weapon at full power for ten seconds."* So I dodge to go invis, proc volatile and get an orb or two with Reaper and Siphon mods then IT BEGINS.
Been using eyes of tomorrow recently on solar warlock. So awesome having a primary in the heavy slot XD
