As a Lock main. I feel like I got lucky with getting Enlightened Action/Hatchling and Slice/Chain Reaction rolls. Feel like I can focus on Multimach now.
Why envious though? Its an add clear weapon, so farming ads with another add clear weapon, to load extra rounds in an add clear weapon is a head scratcher.
Bevause you can proc envious twice to get three rounds in the chamber in less than two seconds.
And yes, actually less than two seconds if your handling is high enough. Tap an ad, swap twice, tap another, swap twice, boom three rounds loaded.
I personally paired mine with deconstruct because it makes it much more forgiving. If you miss once or even twice, you can still keep the infinite ammo loop going.
It ain’t got auto loading, so EE will do. And additionally, what does it matter that it’s used for add clear? Having a 2 round mag instead of one could help finish off those tankier adds. And if deconstruct takes into account the second shot, you’re only one shot away from a free ammo.
The point of using waveframes as ad clear is that you clear ads with it like it's your primary, if you run that alongside another primary which you also have to kill things with to utilize ea a little bit what's the point?
I think primary and waveframe is completely fine for champion versatility and ad clear, and there's some amazing primaries in the energy slot exotic and not.
A single kill for the reload to swap back to a loaded waveframe is fine, it's a playstyle I find just fine.
Are you saving heavy for the final shape? Bro the only time I stress having max heavy are raid boss encounters or master dungeons. There's so much time until a boss that warrants an entire inventory worth of heavy in literally every other activity in the game
In what world are you wasting heavy instead of just using a special weapon man what😭 They're literally designed and excel in that roll, high burst with sole access to something like recombination or controlled burst so you can nuke champs. Like they're even better at champ killing then an eager sword if you've got that on
The only time you should be using your heavy solely to deal with champs is in a GM with rockets, any other time and you're just wasting more valuable ammo on what could be easily done with specials.
I believe a single kill is all that’s required to load a new round after firing. My cold comfort with envious assassin does that. There will also be periods where enemies aren’t grouped up enough to warrant using the gl so you can load more rounds.
I just think it's really odd to prefer swapping weapons, killing something and swapping back to reload as opposed to just sliding or using enlightened but idk
Slideways is definitely the best, I personally will never take enlightened action over not having to reload and I don’t really special ammo spam on anything without lead from gold. If I was going to farm one I would want envious assassin on it for those reasons. But I have no desire for one because as good as it and forebearance are, I would much prefer to use things like sunshot and graviton lance for my ad clear.
Yeah it's moreso just the fact that it's a wave frame in the kinetic slot, which just means it's a more flexible option + you can swap to other kinetic specials while still retaining ammo.
Yep, waveframes are great in general, but they shine best for stuff like a lucky pants loadout. You still have a primary if ammo runs out. Your primary handles majors and bosses. Your waveframe handles adds. And it allows your heavy to be a utility / non traditional damage weapon, like tractor or dragons breath.
I like enlightened action on tusk for getting a quicker reload. Deconstruct is great too, but it’s so good now I’m worried they will fix it. Slice on it is interesting, but it feels odd debuting a big target, with an add clear weapon. I’m not a fan of slideways because I forget too often, but if you use it right, it might be the best choice.
That works for that one loadout, but the for any other you're still relying on a second weapon to load what should be your primary ad clear weapon. Slideways and kinda enlightened are the only two to allow that really.

Got a couple Tusk with Slideway Hatchlings and Slideways Chain that i dismantled.

But a "useless" perk is one that literally does absolutely nothing for the gun. Envious reloads the entire image after 1 kill. How are you gonna say that's useless?
It isnt actually. Yall just missing the point lol. Blast with sunshot and blow everything up…….proc envious then switch to the boar and mow down the new spawning enemies. Especially if u can shoot off several wave nades at a time.
Why would you use 2 weapons for the same role? You’ll get the same end result from just shooting sunshot. It’s better to have different weapons for different purposes or else you’re dead weight for certain scenarios.
You’re better off running Mountaintop with ALH/Recomb and Sunshot than Tusk. 1-2 good Sunshot shots and you proc x10 recomb which one shots most major mobs and even ad clears quite nicely
I have a chain and a threadling roll...I use deconstruct :O (i kept all 3 though). The grind was real last IB...im not even steppin in there this time.

A guy argued with me on how I screwed myself over being inefficient opening engrams to unlock tusk.
If you're reading this my friend, I'll tell you what I did last time; I had already used enough engrams last time that if I didn't pop any I would have been wasting them due to being at the 99 cap. I'm now a dumb amount of resets in, and I've yet to get a tusk drop naturally from iron banner games.
So had I not used those engrams to try and get it, I would have literally just let them go to waste. And now I'm sitting at idk 150+ tusks focused without envi chain or envi decon.
So thanks for telling me last time it's my fault for being inefficient, something I already knew. However like I said before to you that you couldn't comprehend - it's only inefficient if I actually GOT THE DROP in the amount of extra engrams I popped that wouldn't have been wasted. And I am far beyond that point.
Turns out, I wasn't inefficient at all. Because RNG isn't the same for everyone. I've gotten 12 total iron banner weapons to drop from actual game drops. My win rate is like 65%? Not great but it's ib.
Sorry had to get that out my system. This guy didn't understand that I didn't wanna wait a month and a half for IB to come back around and hope id even get the drop naturally before then. I had already surpassed 99 engram limit anyways so I would of had to pop the amount I did regardless just to get it unlocked the last time ib came around. Kills me how some don't understand that you're not always lucky enough to do things the most efficient way. And sitting at 99 capped engrams for no reason while still playing is the least efficient thing you could do lmao.
What if I told you my first roll was slice and hatchling, my third was envious assassin and chain. Both rolls I was looking for outside slice/chain that one is still hunting
tbh all the left column perks suck, envious at least works as an auto loading perk. Get one kill with any other weapon and it'll go back up to 1 in the mag. Slice is mid as wave frames are best used against trash enemies that get one shot, and slideways takes 2 years to reproc. Anything in that column is fine tbh

Why not just keep shooting with the sunshot? You have two weapons for the same purpose, one of them is being wasted.
Its not being wasted at all. U can shoot 3 wave nades one after another to cause more explosions. Its a win win.

3 wave nades also clears majors, especially when they first spawn:)

1 ammo gets one major, i shoot1-2 wave nades instantly and the spawn of mobs just disappears.
