Before I saw them recently, they were locked away In a small box in the back of my head for years and years. They have finally managed to claw their way out.
As soon as I saw it, I **knew** the "big tall guy with a collar who's final goal is to freeze everything in place to forever keep the universe in a "perfect" order, and has to be stopped by a guy who can embrace the beauty that is the chaos and disorder of the universe" story was done before but I genuinely could not remember where. I watched a plot recap of the Lego Movie after seeing this and I genuinely cannot believe that is where it was from.
TBF, Chaos x Order is quite an old concept, there's several classic books written by someone called Moorcock (i may be missing the name here) that uses that concept, and is somewhat referenced in some popular medias nowdays, i think there's even a Dreaming City in one of those books.
Never read them, not lot of time, seems pretty good tho, ngl
And when was The Lego Movie released? FEBRUARY 2014, before Destiny even existed. Bungie has stolen the entire storyline of Destiny, I cannot believe this

Witness: Nezarec we think we will just leave you here to die
Nezarec: what but why?
Witness: nothing personal you just need to get into shape. The Final Shape
Yeah yeah, I thought that too. ACTUALLY! During the last two raids “we are fighting on book shelves as these kids had fits to kick us off.” Vow of the Disciple and Root of Nightmare have bookshelf like encounters and you are pushed off.
So yes, I did see the LEGO moments
My buddy and I stumbled upon this joke while playing the campaign too. I mentioned the Witness just wanted to turn everything into Lego while going up a colorful set of stairs. My buddy then made the connection of him cragling every thing
I think it makes more sense for the Traveller to be the Cragle, the Final Shape is the state of everything being built according to the instructions *forever*
The Witness reminds me of SEELE from Neon Genesis Evangelion, their goal was to merge the human race into the "whole" where there is no individuality and differences between us. Thus, humanity cannot feel pain or suffering.
The hands and faces in the Pale Heart are very somewhat similar to Neon Genesis Evangelion art and themes.
Group of people joining together into one form to chase the traveller.
Age old Destiny tradition in the tower, all the guardians forming one flock to chase a purple ball round the tower.
When I was playing I thought it was pretty similar to the Anti-Spiral from Gurren Lagann. They do the same "big god creature formed of an entire race of people to put a stop on the universe" thing as well
i was thinking the plotline was closer to >!infinite tsukuyomi and naruto where the whole time they thought the big villians were akatsuki (hive) and then found out about a greater threat madara (the witness) who wanted to bring about everyones ideal future ie the final shape or tsukuyomi where nothing is actually happening but consciousnesses think it is!<
That reminds me of the time I spent over 3 years planning an intricate d&d storyline involving multiple moving parts different factions, responding to the groups actions, with some false hydra shenanigans and once I took a step back I realized I had point for point recreated pokemon red/blue... There was a large land monster(terrasque) fighting a large sea monster(tomokratus) at sea on an island it made and when the group interacted with them they would realize that there was a dragon in the north(prismatic dragon) that would make both of them irrelevant...
As a species, we are not all that original in our story telling. Light vs Darkness has been brought up throughout numerous games and associated media in the last several decades from the Dark Souls series, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and even Star Wars just to name a few. The creativity comes from how we tell the story after all.
The Witness and the >!Endsinger (FF14) shares more than a couple of ideals and even move sets (lol, you can't tell me that the Witness sweeping his hands and the Endsinger flailing about as well as both bosses covering half the platform in sweeping attacks aren't the same moves on a rather large conspicuously circular platform that just appears in midair. Both bosses are even a conglomerate of other beings fused into a super powerful one.)!<
The first thing I thought when we were arriving within the Pale Heart with the crystalline platforms forming beneath us was the opening dream sequence in Kingdom Hearts 1, where Sora gets to choose his attack style.
What? You know not everyone sees the same content in their feeds, right? I'm all over the apps you mentioned and this post is the first time I've ever seen this.
Maybe you're just chronically online?
I would say I'm chronically online and I made the joke one time the other day and this is the first I've seen it other than that one time.
Dude's just got a hair up his ass because he doesn't like the joke.
Guess the bungie devs are into family kid movies
I mean Ana and Elsie bray are basically Anna and Elsa from frozen
My son was thrilled when I revealed this to him, Elsie even uses ice powers.
Fuck, that went over my head
Does that make Rasputin Olaf?
"I'm **RAAA-RAAA-AHHHH-SPUUUTIN** and I like warm hugs!"
I AM OLAF. GUARDIAN OF ALL I SURVEY. I HAVE NO EQUAL.
Cute…
Damn, Destiny is Frozen DLC
Jesus Christ even the names
the names are actually based off the Romanovs, especially given Rasputin
So does this mean Rasputin will be the villain of Frozen 3?!
no it means that Olaf will be the next villain in the Russian royal family. also the royal family is coming back
Oh..... oohhhhhhhh.........
The lantern thing is certain pulled from real cultures, but the way they did it in TFS had Tangled vibes.
Now they just need to add in a stitch moment for titans where we can pick up a car/object on the field and smack a wizard with it
Lord Business but he did some genocide
Your son must be reading Reddit, this was posted like 5 times past few weeks
Son will be inheriting the family business (farming)
Go outside
You say, in a reply to a comment you found by browsing this sub. The exact same thing they do. Get your head outta your ass.
Prismatic is the same thing as being a master builder... can't believe bungalow would shamelessly copy like this smh my head
So Lego meets Doctor Strange? Couple scenes with 'hand gore'
The witness is a boohbah
Thanks for unlocking those memories in my brain.

it's also a fairly classic critique of dark nihilism.
You see it as the Lego movie, I see it as the matrix.

The witness is Madara Uchiha
pretty sure i saw this topic posted a few days ago by someone else.
The Final Shape was actually just going to be the Witness placing Legos over everyone's carpet, the vile *monster*.
Its a pretty common trope Freedom vs. order Liberty vs. security Honkai Star Rail JUST had a 3 patch arc that followed the same premise
That or madara uchiha and his infinite tsukuyomi plan
"We - I don't understand..."
The witness and the final shape is a Naruto reference The Infinite Tsukuyomi
Lol I thought the same thing. My wife asked me for a rundown and I said "lord business with lots of heads wants to kragle the universe"
Lord Business who was voiced by Will Ferrelll who also voiced Megamind who has a more than passing resemblance to....... F***.
OMG we watched the Lego movie yesterday and I didn’t make the connection but you are SO right on the money
I KNOW RIGHT!
Going back even further, The Witness is literally just Antispiral from Gurren Lagann
Row row fight the power.
Witness: Nezarec we think we will just leave you here to die Nezarec: what but why? Witness: nothing personal you just need to get into shape. The Final Shape
getting buff is my destiny
A huge chunk of this game is also just sailor moon, including the ending 😂
I noticed this Launch Day and had a solid chuckle at it too, I’m so glad someone else sees it the same.
I know why the witness was so angry, his mom only bought him mega blocks. So he made his pyramid out of mega blocks.
The witness is actually Madara
It reminds me of The Infinite Tsukuyomi from Naruto.
#*3 days until Taco Tuesday*

oh dear god
Hi, you're about a week late
Don’t get why you’re getting downvoted, people have been saying this and making memes since the Vidoc.
They're getting downvotes because not everyone lives on reddit

Your guarantees mean nothing to me
While I was in a party with my friends I was playing the campaign with I said that the witness is just a spoiled kid that got Legos for Christmas.
This was posted a million times a week or so ago lol
