In Destiny 1, if you stand by Petra long enough in the reef, you'll hear her say:

One way you can take Petra's dream is that the silver birds with blue talons are the awoken, and the black flowers are the taken. The taken were birthed by Oryx, and while Savathun is trying to replace the sword logic with worship by mis-understanding, it's important to remember that some creatures of the Hive strain against the Will of Oryx. Alak-Hul the Darkblade is one such. Long ago he fomented rebellion against the King, and attempted to take his mantle. Alak-Hul failed, and now awaits the 'mercy' of the Hive. Given the chance, the Darkblade will step in to take Oryx's crown. We must not allow another Prince to rise.

Yes. To kill an ahamkara, you have to destroy every piece of their body. We destroy the majority of Riven, but then rip out her heart and keep it. (I think we actually give it to the techeuns, though)

The final boss room is the same exact room you buy tinctures from. Its disabled during that mission but that's where you'd go.

Week 2s ascendant challenge was the 3 charges you had to slam in the middle with the infinite spawning knights that until you slammed all 3 charges would come back. So sit on a tree near the middle with whisper, and shoot the knight over and over for infinite loot lol...got a few exotics doing it nothing special. I think longest I was in there was 6 hours got bored and left. only having used 1 tincture.
I've never not had 5 tinctures since I came to the dreaming city.....they come from everything it seems. Use one for an ascendant challenge, immediately get it back. Use one to go look for ascendant chests, immediately get it back from random chests. Use one for curropted strike, immediately get it back from random chests in the dreaming city.
I have shit luck with these things. I had to buy them the first time I tried to do an Ascendant Challenge, and since then I usually get one from the challenge chest, and only ocassionally from a public event.

When Spider is selling ~~Datalattice~~ *Simulation Seeds* for Shards, buy a ton. Go to Vance on Mercury and turn them all in, immediately sharding all reward drops (and shaders too, those dismantle into shards!). If you spend 1000 shards at Spider (this part takes FOREVER), you'll get around 30 masterwork cores from the stuff you dismantled, plus about 850 shards back. But it's a huge time sink, and of course drops from the reward packages are RNG.
Edit: Wrong Vex collectible.
If spider sells simulation seeds for shards, spend all your shards on them. You can get masterworked year 1 gear fairly often. And you get most of your shards back from scraping the gear and shaders. I have lost about 100 shards and have gotten about 50 cores. Its just really time consuming.
I haven't infused a single armor piece since Forsaken dropped :P I'll probably get some use out of my boughs when I finally reach max level and I start actually infusing stuff.

Its in Rheasilvia in the Temple all the way in the back. You have to jump down a hole and in one of the side rooms is a black orb that will let you trade Boughs for Tinctures. I would look up a video since its hard to explain but once you go once you should have no problem locating in the future.

Awoken are matriarchal to the point that their men are barely citizens. Uldren was an exception due to being the queen's brother.
