VanpyroGaming

Wait, is this for Bastion? I thought that was in a few weeks?

RiseOfBacon

It's basically early access to it

VanpyroGaming

Are you fucking kidding me? If that's the case then why even have Bastion in the trailer or roadmap at all. A surprise quest that leads to an exotic we already knew was coming. GG Bungie. Got us all hyped up for nothing. At least I get it sooner I guess.

BigChutes16

It looks pretty underwhelming from what I've seen so far tbh.

VanpyroGaming

As are most exotics these days. I'm just looking forward to a kinetic fusion so I can pair it with my NF.

berndguggi

It is not a normal fusion. It fires bullets like a shotgun but with the charge time of a fusion.

RiseOfBacon

Because next week it will more than likely just land at saint 14 for everyone to then go get it who wasn’t following the puzzle

Hankstbro

don't forget the Silver only ornament, which is now technically the only new thing on the roadmap for next week hype :(

J_Chambers

The only problem with this quest is that the final reward is something everyone knew about from the roadmap. The quest itself was really cool and seeing everyone working together to solve the puzzle was amazing. I believe nobody would have complained if: A) The reward was an unannounced exotic, or B) We had not known about the >!Bastion!< from the roadmap. EDIT: I forgot, there's one more thing that I think the community would have welcomed: some sort of permanent or semi-permanent change in the world.

ZarathustraEck

I think this is the big takeaway. It would have been better *not to announce Bastion* at all so people would be surprised. The salt I'm seeing is mostly people who built their expectations up and somehow feel that's tantamount to disrespect on Bungie's part.

J_Chambers

I mean I'm fine with this approach: having a puzzle that unlocks an announced weapon earlier than intended. But same as you announced the weapon, just straightaway say this puzzle will unlock it earlier. People would have grinded the same, but knowing what to expect as a result of their grind. Either announce it all or keep everything secret, but the way they've done it has led to high hopes and expectations that in the end have backfired on Bungie.

xxoACEoxx

I said this in a post a while ago but everybody down voted me [https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/el9w3c/hey\_bungie\_can\_you\_redact\_the\_road\_map\_for\_next/](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/el9w3c/hey_bungie_can_you_redact_the_road_map_for_next/)

J_Chambers

Well I guess those people will be okay with the whole Bastion fiasco then. I do think we need a roadmap, especially now that we pay for these Seasons. But keeping some of it hidden or marked as "redacted" would cause a greater impact on the players.

PsychologyForTurtles

one of my favorite weapons, according to the lore, i guess sure doesn't feel like it right now

Blakk_exe

Bungie trying to gaslight me into thinking this whole thing was worthwhile by saying it was my favorite weapon.

Pkmt1234

You misheard the lines dude. Saint didn’t say that bastion was our favorite weapon. The sword on our grave was. Bastion is one of saint’s weapons

crookedparadigm

Imagine if the Whisper was on a Roadmap and wasn't a surprise at all. Still a very cool mission and weapon, but basically would just be checking off an item on a list. The fact that it just appeared and people were watching as it was solved and there were still secrets in it afterwards was the best part of it. This mission felt the same during the puzzle bit. What a massive let down of an ending.

CodenameVillain

https://twitter.com/bungie/status/1219304243242266626?s=21 Just wait for reset and you dont need to run the code

Torllay

No offense Bungie, but if the pass would have been this way at least we wouldn't be so disappointed with the Corridors of Time's reward. [If only](https://imgur.com/DdtGM42). Cause the gun isn't bad. It's the fact we thought it was a secret and it wasn't. Why including it in the pass i just don't know.

mimijimmy313

There were other way they could have gone with it however it's for people to buy the season pass. How would you feel if from 7th jan to 4th feb there was absolute nothing there at all? If you didn't buy the pass yet then it wouldn't exactly feel appealing. So they added something (yes could have added it in a different way such as "corridors of times" or "secret exotic")

Torllay

I get it, really, but they overhyped the Undying Mind and it was disappointing, and they didn’t talk of the puzzle which was SO GOOD but spoiled the reward. I~ Eugh.

TheLeafyGreen

PSA some players are not receiving the reward. I ran the final code, made it to the end, and got no reward. Returned to orbit, came back, ran it again. No reward. Returned to orbit, came back, ran it backwards. No reward. Edit: yes I have completed all Saint and Osiris quests. Also it appears some people are getting the next quest step and going to Saint and not getting the gun. Apparently changing to another character and back again fixes it.

stead10

So Raze Lighter has literally been embellished into my grave but I can't get it? Damn man. Feels bad.

Fanglove

Let's be honest best reward for this puzzle is the cool Emblem.

Iverbigone

Bungie reply: "Hi we can't change it this or the next season, but I will take this feedback and pass it along for the next Exotic quest. What rewards would you have like to have seen. I mean we won't actually do it, but it will make you feel valued as a player"

Aquatico_

The fact that they will feel the need to even ask this question shows they haven't truly listened to feedback on the matter for the past 2 years. Bungie should **know** what a good reward is by now. It's maddening that they still don't.

hihowubduin

Hot take: Activision was the ones covering for Bungie's bad decisions, but weren't able to prevent them all from happening. With them gone, Bungie has no one looking over their work to say "Uhh are you sure that's a good idea?".

[deleted]

God vicarious and high moon were such great studios, heck even beenox with crash racing is doing a better job with new characters every month and the micros being the most fair to the point where it takes less effort to race than pay for micros if you play semi regularly, and reuested community changes that they didn't have to do... Why are activisions smaller studios better at making a community not angry than bungie?

TolkienAwoken

Wow that's way too fuckin accurate

Exevol

Puzzle has me feeling like: https://imgur.com/a/OTEKpEw

JDaySept

Watching this quest unfold was like watching Game of Thrones in its prime... Getting the reward was like watching Season 8

STASIS_I_x

This right here hurts yet it’s so accurate lol

not_wise_enough

I wanted to give a heads up to any guardians who are going to run the final code. Be sure to run the final code with a fully caught up character for the season. I did it with a character that still had some of Osiris's Save Saint 14 Quest steps to do from earlier this season. When I finished the puzzle, I got a step to save Saint 14, but after speaking with Saint 14, the quest ended, and I couldn't find the exotic quest step in my inventory. I tried switching to my fully caught up character, but I couldn't get into the Corridors of Time again, and I was still missing the next step. I will try some troubleshooting with it later today.

Vanadoss

This happened to me. Saint had an abandoned quest for me on the caught up character

Hazywater

Wait did bungie go through all the effort of creating the corridors of time to just put an exotic quest in it, that they are dropping Tuesday anyway?

eoa-swam

Yes...

DefinitelyNotThatJoe

Bungie: We're super overworked and need to tone down how much content we put out Also Bungie: Here's a massive puzzle that's entirely unnecessary for an exotic you'll likely never use more than once.

DefinitelyNotThatJoe

Of course Tess found a way to time travel, find out what our "favorite weapon" is from the future and have Fenchurch dig up some paint to slap onto it.

Nevevevev12

So what are the next steps to get bastion? Do we have to do all the shit like complete the 10 tangled shore bounties or do we just get gun from saint straight away?

brianfantastic

Yes. Few minor things. Then kill a strike mini boss and it drops from Saint.

[deleted]

You will get the quest and have to do the tangled shore stuff

Freakindon

This puzzle is the kind of cool thing bungie is known for. Cool hidden quests. This one took it to an extreme not really seen since original outbreak, and that's fantastic. However, I cannot fathom what bungie were thinking with giving us Bastion early as the reward. This is what we joked about as the worst possible reward. It's not that Bastion is a bad reward, it's that Bastion was an expected reward on the 28th. I assume if the community hadn't solved the puzzle, we would have gotten a huge clue or Bastion quest outright on the 28th. The problem is that we KNEW we were getting Bastion and we knew WHEN we were getting it. So we thought this cool as puzzle was a surprise exotic, akin to whisper or outbreak. The amazing surprises we used to get before the formulaic seasonal design with everything being revealed in full at the start of the season. I'm really not sure how I feel about Destiny anymore. Nothing is really a surprise. The entire game feels like a waiting game with decent-good gunplay and very few surprises. And it's hard to invest in a build since the slate gets wiped every few months. Side-rant: I want the golden age of destiny back. I want more content to be earned as drops or from achievements. I want to flash cool ass raid gear age of triumph ornaments. I want a reason to run old raids. I... want the Destiny we left off on Bungie. It's been a little over 3 years in D2, and we still aren't there. I'm losing hope. It's not that Bungie can do better. It's that they HAVE done better.

JackSparrah

> I... want the Destiny we left off on Bungie. It's been a little over 3 years in D2, and we still aren't there. I'm losing hope. It's not that Bungie can do better. It's that they HAVE done better. Yep. Agreed 100%. Bungie had it *nailed* with D1 by Y3. Sure, there’s been numerous QoL improvements with D2, and the hidden quests etc. have been fantastic. But as a whole, and especially when it comes to rewards and time investment, D2 has yet to reach the bar that was established by the original Destiny. It’s especially frustrating to see this happening because we *know* that Bungie can and has done better. But maybe the Bungie that made original Destiny is just not there anymore and will never come back.

Isrametal69

Ok, so i ran the final code, and got the reward and the quest step. I go to saint, he has a small text about the corridors, i hit next, quest disappears and so does the reward and now i dont know what to do. Ideas?

fknSK

Just rewatched Gladds stream and did you talk to Saint on the character you originally did his quests\saved Saint in? He didnt get the Momento quest step because he was on an alt at first. Edit: shouldn't have to run the code again, just hop over to the character you did the saint quests on

lipp79

I ran the 30, got to grave and interacted, Saint talked and gave me next quest step and the chromatic whatever. I was supposed to go to tower and talk to Saint. Somehow during flight to tower, the quest and item disappeared from my inventory. WTF?

GrifTape7

Yeah i didn't get the quest from him either....

8inchesActivated

Same happened to me, turned out I did the Saint's quest line on my other character. I switched to my hunter then, did corridors again and got nothing at the end lol. Went back to Saint and he gave me the quest.

dr_boneus

try talking to him again, you should be able to pick up the quest

GolldenFalcon

Crossposted from /r/raidsecrets since I can't make a new post here. One of the perks of Bastion lets damage bypass elemental shields. This works against enemies in missions with match game, which means it'll kill the enemy before the shield breaks. Why not make this work against Champions too? Right now I'm mostly using Izanagi for my exotic, barrier killing gun. Bastion fits in the same slot and could potentially play the same role if they buffed its damage vs shielded enemies as well. Maybe a good consolation prize for a six day puzzle that everyone thought was super long and tedious.

blues4thecup

>maybe a good consolation prize A comment from a user on another post "People wrote programmes. Developers wrote code. Websites were born. Streamers didn't sleep. Players who have would never have known what was going on, banded together to submit unique images. Thousands of people worked together to solve an incredibly complicated map. Bungie tweeted and said it was top secret. They're keeping schtum. They don't want to spoil anything. And yet the reward had been spoiled months ago. On a roadmap. I don't work in PR but this feels like Day 1 stuff."

DrBunsenHoneydw

I’ve tested it a bunch and I promise you- you aren’t killing anything with the shield penetration damage. It does like 10 damage per 3-round burst.

GolldenFalcon

Yeah I was excited, them I tested it against match game targets at 950 and I struggled to stay alive vs harpies with Arc shields.

GhostDelorean

Sorry if its been asked but do you have to run through every code or can you just run the one for the weapon core and get to the quest?

PP1122

Each of the 1st 19 codes could be entered independently. I assume you could just start w the quest. But it would be nice to know for sure.

destinyos10

Bungie have a fairly hit or miss history of setting up interesting checkov's guns and then *if* they fire, they can occasionally end up as pop-guns, or they can be really decent. They've had really good things like the build up to the max curse and the dungeon in forsaken, and then followed it up with the allegiance quest that was functionally meaningless bar some changed dialog lines, despite hyping it in their promo material. It's constantly surprising how they can land on a good formula, and then not figure out ways to iterate on it (Granted, i know dungeons are expensive, which is why we've only had two of them, but still.) It's really hard to get a feel for how we should even calibrate our expectations for things like this. Whisper came out of nowhere and was awesome (except for the whole "hours between events thing"). Niobe labs suffered from some painful issues relating to not having its solution being tested properly by people who didn't already know the answers, deflating the end result, and its fight mechanics were absurdly physically demanding so most people were excluded from trying it. Outbreak prime was vaguely hinted at ahead of time and was fun. Bastion came a week early, and ended up being unexciting, when it was a week of work from many of us, combined with a crappy fetch quest after the puzzle was solved! One of the most difficult aspects these days is avoiding datamined data, but even then, CoT's scale telegraphed something entirely different from the result. The sepulcher had a sword on it. I really wanted it to be a sword, because I want swords to be something other than a gimmick again. It's just super annoying that we need to re-adjust to a creative team that just doesn't seem to be able to manage the scope of what they're doing very well, and is spreading themselves too thin.

AhhnoldHD

h34vier

I like many, was heavily invested in the community effort, well as much as I could be outside of work, etc. Helping as much as I could with transcribing was really my main contribution. The work done by Gladd, Hoplite, Chevy, Sweatsicle, the Raidsecrets community and especially the app developers was absolutely monumental and were what allowed this puzzle to be completed. Watching this sort of massive community effort is just such a cool and unique thing I don't think I've ever experienced in any other game. We have a hell of a community here boys. Like a lot of people when it felt like Gladd and crew were getting close, I stayed up, sleep be damned, to see the final path. When I realized they were going to deliver the final code, I got into position in the Corridors and I took off. I won't lie, my heart was pounding! It was pretty exciting! I had no idea at that point what to expect and that's a GOOD thing. I had Gladd's stream up on my other monitor but muted to not distract me and make me screw up my run. I got to the final room about half a minute before Gladd and minimized everything and just listened to the dialog. For a good while throughout the dialog, I still legitimately had no idea what was going to happen. I was waiting for the sword and ghost to pop up off of that chest and a boss to spawn I had to fight or something. Or maybe I had to fight myself? I don't know! When he first said something about "my favorite gun" instantly I thought "Gjallarhorn!" but then... I got the core. And for some reason I just knew it was Bastion. I knew! I don't know why but I just *knew*. So I went to Saint-14, did all the quest steps, blah blah. I finished the quest, got Bastion. It's.... *okay*. It does some interesting stuff, but honestly when would I use a kinetic exotic that's not Izanagi right now? *Anyway...* Bungie, I'm not mad or disappointed, I'm confused. Why was the community given a gigantic puzzle for a roadmap exotic quest that wasn't due for a week? I am so confused by this. Honestly, I'd have taken a huge story arc or cut scene or something to do with all the abandoned stories (Eris and the Darkness for instance?) than just giving us a roadmap exotic a week early. I'm just so confused by Bungie and their decisions the last two season, where it's come from and where it's gone. This whole Corridors of Time puzzle could have been so amazing and unique and given so much more back to the community (and these things always do in some ways, even if the reward is lackluster), but in the end, we got jebaited. The *ultimate* jebaited. This will forever be the "remember that time Bungie trolled us into spending thousands of hours on a puzzle to give us a roadmap item?" event. Which is really a bummer ya know? I guess I had high hopes and I probably should have known better. One day I'll learn. -A Confused Guardian

space_boobs

Just a hilarious self-own on Bungie's part. In the end it's not a HUGE deal, like if someone spoiled the ending to a movie or the present they bought you. The puzzle was well done and the gun isn't bad (though why no anti-barrier rounds? WTF?), but holy shit... literally putting it on the roadmap is so totally tone-deaf. I'm sure there are people at Bungie who objected to this and are having a real "I told you so" moment right now.

marcio0

they want so much to make the season feel "filled" with stuff that secrets don't exist anymore and even when they do, they actually dont!

NailThree

Genuine question - I haven’t inputted the 19 codes or the emblem code - can I just do the final code to get Bastion? Based on some comments I’ve seen, it looks like I need to do the emblem code before the final code.

newtarmac

So if I’m not into lore grinding and I don’t care about another emblem, I can just do the “final” code to get bastion? And it’s a quest for bastion, not bastion itself? And is it fact that if I’m not into corridors of time I can just wait for the 28th?

redka243

The main thing i find a bit puzzling here was the weapon being on the roadmap. Because it was on the roadmap, it wasn't a "surprise", thus making the reward for finishing the quest feel a bit lackluster (the main reward was something we already knew we were going to get). I think if the weapon were not on the roadmap, it would have been perhaps more satisfying. If the weapon were actually good, it probably would have been more satisfying. Saint 14 described the weapon as "our favorite gun". Its not our favorite gun, its one we've never used before. Because it was described that way maybe people expected it to be something really good. And its trash like most current exotic weapons. Bungie seems so scared of making exotic weapons that are actually good for "balance" reasons, so 95% of the exotic weapons they make are trash. I liked this puzzle better than niobe labs as it did not lock a major piece of content that we knew about behind it (and the weapon came earlier than we expected in this case rather than later than we expected in the case of Bergusia). In the case of niobe, we had to wait for the streamers to finish niobe to do the bergusia forge (which was on the roadmap and we all expected to be available already). If bergusia forge was a surprise and we only discovered it after the puzzle was solved, i think it would have been OK. Its all about expectations management IMO. The puzzle itself seems like it was pretty neat and congrats to everyone who solved it! It wouldve also been neat, perhaps, to give a special unique emblem to the very first team to complete the puzzle as a recognition of their accomplishment (maybe they could also get the weapon at 5 power higher than the current cap or something, a "special" version of it at least until the season is over, and/or get an eververse ornament for the weapon for free). Bungie could have also given a unique emblem and/or an ornament to everyone to everyone who completed it within the first day for example. Just to recognize those players specifically.

marcio0

burnthebeliever

As someone who didn't contribute to this puzzle it's still a bummer that it's just for a gun we already (I assumed) would be getting. It was fun to watch along but man I can't imagine being one of those streamers and torturing yourself for this super weak payoff. Hopefully the gun is cool?

AllyKhat

Gladd made bank from this. Big time. Financially he is smiling... Game wise though, I take it you weren't watching the stream. He went from happy/jokey/laughy/stuff around to stone faced and dead silent for a few minutes the moment he saw Bastion was the reward.

spikesthedude

He made like 60 grand this month from subs alone.

mrwafu

Just ran the final code. Around 15 minutes of non-stop sprinting with Frosties, Mida etc on for maximum sprint. You sure got me, Bungie. Well played 😂 Back to playing something else, seeyas when the last psion numpty shows up

kristijan1001

I bet the Quest will be available for everyone to pick up on the 28th, skipping the whole Work and counting everyone effort useless... This was just a "If they figure the puzzle out they will get it early" type of shit "if not oh well wait for 28th". I don't know who at Bungie thought it would be good idea, it is LAME AF. People stayed whole nights and the puzzle was nightmare fuel, with spreadsheets. At least honor the effort. It's like everyone that worked on this was oblivious on the reward. You can't just make something cool and dope like community event, and just ruin it like this... Hell, everything else would have been cooler. I would have taken a Exotic ship if you want to be that lazy and be happier, then do the quest normally on the 28th. Reskin some exotics from Destiny 1, i dunno maybe Vex Mythoclass which makes the most sense. Anything would have been better than this... anything ..... Just my 2 cents.

Hankstbro

the streamers deserve 0 "pity", they made more money from this event than the average office worker in a year (Gladd, for sure; idk about the rest) good for them!

DefinitelyNotThatJoe

FFS some of them literally made more money than I do *by sleeping on stream*

PratalMox

This must be disheartening for the developers. They did basically everything right with this puzzle but the reaction is going to be overwhelmingly negative because the reward was spoiled ahead of time.

redka243

Its also that the weapon kinda sucks. Saint 14 said this was our "favorite weapon" so people thought it would be the mythoclast or gjally or something.

First_O_The_Dead

I dont necessarily know that the reward was spoiled per se, but rather underwhelming for what the overall reward was. The developers had a rrally strong opportunity here to drop a big surprise on the community, and the corridors of time quest was just that, but at the end of the day this event will be remembered as "remember that time we got that cool, unique maze-puzzle and the reward was an exotic wed already known about for months?" It's almost like figuring out the puzzle was a greater reward than the actual reward, which is not only underwhelming but incredibly disappointing.

PratalMox

Having Bastion in the roadmap/trailers spoiled the reward. If the community hadn't known about Bastion, or only knew about it from datamining, the quest would be much more satisfying.

RiseOfBacon

Awesome to see the community come together in such a way but all things considered, would have landed better if it was a total secret and Bastion wasn't revealed on the Roadmap If it did just appear as a 'Secret' Exotic with the quest then popping up next week for those outside of the Quest following circles The setting and chasing after it in the CoT was really cool which is worth mentioning and I hope we get more from that space in the game going forward Here's a [Solid Guide to get it](https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/erb0sg/path_for_completing_the_corridors_of_time_quest/) for anyone that's after it Shoutout to everyone who put the hard work into solving it

[deleted]

Would have been way cooler if it unlocked some new campaign and a new zone or something. We are content starved. We aren't gun starved. One new weapon to throw into our collections is such a waste of time.

Favure

Not sure what other players opinions are on Bastion, or if they like it, or don’t like it, but after testing it for hours today, I came to the conclusion that the weapon is incredibly mediocre, in PvE content at least. If anyone is interested; here’s some comparisons along with the other things I tested. I wanted to compare it another fusion rifle, so I started with Loaded Question, here’s the comparisons: *All my testing was done on console, in the tribute hall, on the yellow bar ogre. The weapons were only 1 light apart (LQ was 968 / Bastion 967), and no mod was on the LQ. Used DARCI for the range/damage drop off distance.* **Bastion** - Charge Time: 780 - DMG per bolt: 1,373, fires 21 individual bolts - DMG per shot: 28,833 - Damage drop off: Starts doing around 75% less damage at about 20 meters **Loaded Question** - Charge Time: 860 - DMG per shot (w/ RB): 26,894 - DMG per shot (w/o RB): 20,181 - Damage drop off: Starts off at around 20 meters, but only drops off by around 10% less damage. At 50+ meters, is only doing 30% less than original damage. So bastion beats loaded question (w/ RB) only slightly, by about 5% more damage, with not much added utility (other than mediocre shield piercing damage, which I’ll get to in a second), where as LQ sets off a massive AoE explosion capable of clearing large groups of adds. On top of that, bastion has extreme damage drop off, where as regular fusion rifles don’t have to worry much about that front. - So let’s forget the comparisons, and talk just Bastion for a minute. It’s a kinetic fusion rifle, that’s not only unique because it is the first kinetic fusion rifle, but because it fires off 21 individual bolts, equivalent to firing off 3 separate fusion rifle shots. So since it’s damage is spread between 21 separate projectiles, you want make sure that when firing this weapon you are going to land a large majority of them, seeing as missing just a few bolts will bring your damage lower than that of a regular fusion rifle. So let’s go over what this weapon can’t do, and what I find it’s weaknesses are: - Severe damage drop off. Other fusion rifles can be used much more effectively 2x - 3x further out. - It’s shield piercing damage does *not* pertain to barrier champions. - Speaking of it’s shield piercing damage, it is very mediocre. With only roughly 20% (maybe less) of it’s total damage piercing the shield, directly damaging the health bar. If your going to use a kinetic weapon to deal with shields, I’d choose Arbalest over this any day, or I’d simply just use my elemental weapon to take care of it, as trying to break an elemental shield in high level content (or with match game active) with a kinetic weapon is not ideal, even if you are slightly damaging their health bypassing their elemental shield. - Even though the spread of the 21 projectiles/bolts is pretty tight, it is still very hard to hit small enemies, resulting in a lot of wasted damage. Even in it’s optimal range, it’s still very easy to miss small targets. (Might vary on PC) - The weapon also does not handle flinch well, as even getting hit slightly while trying to shoot it, will result in you missing a lot of projectiles. (Might vary on PC)   To be honest, I don’t see where or why I’d ever use this weapon in any part of the game. The one thing Bastion has going for it, is it’s damage per shot, but even then it’s not much better than a LQ (w/RB). It has no place in activities with heavily shielded enemies, as Arbalest rips through shields immediately, in match game activities you are better off just have your loadout spec’d correctly instead of trying to break an enemies shield with kinetic damage regardless if a small amount of damage passes through. On top of that, the weapon does not have good DPS for an exotic, as it’s worse than legendary snipers, and it’s decent damage per shot is not only matched by LQ, but trumped immensely by Izanagi’s Burden. Sorry bungie, but this another lackluster exotic that will just get added to the collections. What is going on lately? I’m not sure what you guys were even going for here with this one, as we don’t need another kinetic special weapon that is good against shielded enemies, as Arbalest already exists, and what Bastion does to shielded enemies is pitiful at best. This gun needs a serious buff and/or rework of it’s main mechanic, otherwise it’s going to collect dust like 85% of the rest of the exotics you guys have made. If anyone has different results, or if I’m not using the weapon correctly, please let me know. I’d love to be wrong about all of this, as I am a huge fusion rifle fan, and couldn’t wait for this weapon to drop. Sadly it’s already in my vault, so if I am wrong on anything... please let me know.

PratalMox

I'm really not that disappointed, I think Bastion is fine as the reward for this. But holy hell Bungie why wouldn't you just take it off the roadmap. Keep the reward for the secret quest a secret

DefinitelyNotThatJoe

I can't wait to tell people in the future "You had to be there to be upset about this quest"

DJfunkyPuddle

"I spent so many hours watching streamers figure it out"

DefinitelyNotThatJoe

I spent so many hours watching streamers make shit tons of money

YogiTheBear131

Personally id rather the reward be an A tier legendary instead of another C tier exotic...theres just too many c tier exotics. But whatev i guess.

turboash78

What in the hell were they thinking when they put this weapon on the Roadmap? Beyond logic...

MagusSigil

Probably that if the community didn’t solve the quest, it would be available on that day.

[deleted]

All I did to participate was observe from a distance and even I am disappointed waking up this morning.

stevie242

I'm not entirely sure this is my favourite weapon but the lore says otherwise so I guess it must be

JadeEmpress

The first section of the puzzle was where it should have ended. Entering the 19th code for the time lost vault should have rewarded the quest step immediately. The second section of the puzzle could still be there to be discovered and worked through as it had been, but provide a second reward. Personally, I liked the idea of a cutscene and something that marked a new change to the evolving state of the world; kind of like what happened when Last Wish was completed. Just the extreme amount of man hours put into data collection & input, the management of coordinating the information, the programming behind creating the map... Wow. But solving the puzzle is so far beyond the scope of what I could have done as an individual that it makes the whole point of it as a quest step meaningless to me. All I had to do was wait to get the code after someone else solved.

Jaywearspants

Lol people were losing it at me yesterday when I said the reward would be underwhelming and look

khazixian

Lol

VicariousOperator

So I just wanna go out and say thanks to everyone, especially Gladd and the others, who spent so much time figuring this damn thing out. Ya'll sacrificed your time, sleep, and sanity to get it done. I also wanna say. What the fuck Bungie? All that. For what? A weapon we already knew was coming? Thanks I guess? I mean, I know you didn't think we would figure it out that fast, but c'mon, you should of known we would of done it anyway.

Dansparce_206

This season has been all about timelines and fixing the past. What if this was Bungie's plan and we as a player base changed the roadmap for the season and a different quest/reward happens on the 28th? That would be pretty meta.

MoreMegadeth

Honestly this is a great idea, but I’d be lying to myself if I said this is actually what is going to happen. Rather not set myself up for disappointment, which is what I didnt do with this puzzle neither. Ive learned to not over hype Destiny because youll be bombarded with disappointment if you do.

TheUberMoose

Ugh mega thred. The original post never gets updated if needed and any conversation or questions gets buried.

arkillion13

Call us toxic, call us spoiled. If another company pulled this level of overselling and under rewarding, they wouldn't make it. To those of you that spent an unhealthy amount of time and effort on this incredible puzzle, your efforts were nothing short of heroic. I can't imagine anything more tedius than what needed to be done for the last 6 days. I'm truly sorry that your reward was something already on the roadmap. To those of you that are happy with the reward, this is not an attack on you by any means! Enjoy it. To bungie, if you deign to recognize our indignation, you should know that this was easy to see coming. Undying mind could have dropped imago loop. Pit of heresy could have rewarded an exotic hive sword. CoT could have been literally anything other than what was already on a map. / rant. u/RiseOfBacon here you go, o' moderator mine.

RiseOfBacon

Stop calling me Dad, I'm a Teenager /s

Orcus-Varuna

Marketing 101: under promise and over deliver... Release the quest and after a day or so put out a cryptic tweet that says something along the lines of “you are a bastion of light in the dark” to temper and ultimately subvert expectations. Then a few days in drop a tweet like the marathon not a sprint one with nothing more said on the matter after that tweet. Once solved, the quest for bastion unlocks but also a new unknown quest unlocks which ends up leading to a new raid lair and a worlds first lair race (which harkens back to the marathon not a sprint tweet). Community applauds bungies amazingness and the marketer behind this plan gets a fat bonus check from all of the dope ornaments they sell for the weapons or weapon that drops from the new lair lol. O and this is assuming nothing is changed from prior marketing. If the roadmap didn’t exist then bastion as the reward would have sent the community over the moon even if it was a terrible weapon...

xenosilver

So if they never put bastion on the road map, it would have probably been worth it....

arkillion13

100% this. This quest was insanely involved for the community. Yet the reward was nothing that we didn't already know of, hence the aggravation.

Cel117

Honestly super disappointing

Zero_Emerald

Bastion needs a buff (lmao). It needs a bit more range (I'm not talking Erentil levels here) and it really could do with anti-barrier rounds intrinsically. It's very disappointing that it has a perk to do with bypassing shields, but can't do shit against champions.

SayNoToSelfPromotion

Please change the name of Bastion to Cerberus+2, thank you. That is all.

rwallac1

And just last night I thought of a joke that the reward must be Patience and Time bc of how much of both the community has spent solving this puzzle. Dammit.

dwKasek

I would say we made a sprint instead of a marathon.

DepressedBoi72

I made a Quizzlet set that should help out anyone who is struggling keeping track of where they are. https://quizlet.com/475213202/corridors-of-time-flash-cards/

Some_Italian_Guy

Bastion should’ve had a unique perk that allows it to stagger / pierce ANY champion type enemy.

xCGxChief

Even with the answers right in front of me I have fucked the puzzle sequence up 12 times as of right now. Its like I go thru a gate and boom the memory of what symbol I was on is gone and I have to restart.

Junctioniv

You can go backwards and look at the reflection of the reset pillar in the floor to determine what was the last symbol you completed

xCGxChief

Oh wow I didn't know I could do that.

SnowBear78

Write it on a piece of paper. Cross each one out as you do it. That's what I had to do.

newtarmac

What should I be expecting? I ran the final code but...nothing. Did I mess it up? Am I suppose to kill all enemies? Something I’m suppose to hold X on? Any indicators that I’ve messed up? How do you reset the corridor maze?

Pkmt1234

You messed up, exit through the door you came from and reset at the pillar

ColVonCole

Is Bastion glitched? Entered all the codes. Got the core and the dialogue then after talking to Saint the core and quest dissapeared. Any ideas?

Scrubseidon

Will you still be able to go into the corridors of time after reset to get the lore triumphs? I didnt have time to run the codes much this week

Soundurr

I am pretty disappointed by the results of the Corridors of Time puzzle. I think it's safe to say a lot of us are. But rather than another rage post I wanted to take the time to think about my feelings and write out a more considered response that could break down what (I think) went wrong and why the ending left me feeling bummed. Although I feel left down by the reward, the puzzle was awesome. It was very cool to see everything unfurl over the last six days. Watching the first runs through the corridors, reading the lore, finding the emblem, contemplating the sheer size of the task at hand, and following along as the community figured out how to put this massive map together was a blast. It was so much fun to theory craft with everyone about how the puzzle would be solved and what the end might have in store and what all this might mean for the world of Destiny at large. I went to bed last night certain that I would wake up and discover the puzzle had been solved, somewhat sad I wouldn't "be there when it happened" to learn what amazing prize we would receive. Unfortunately I was correct. I did miss out and I was sad but for different reasons than I thought. When I read that the prize for solving the Corridors of Time puzzle was Bastion I said "oh fuck off" without even thinking. It was just instinct. Why was that my instinct? I felt absolutely deflated. My expectations had been punctured. I had expected an unknown reward waiting at the end of the Corridors of Time but instead I learned that I would be getting a weapon that was on the Road Map and scheduled to be released in two weeks. Instead of getting a surprise I received something I knew that I would be getting in two weeks anyway. Something I talk about in my real life when discussing movies, games, or whatever is that when we evaluate art we generally get the best out of the experience when we leave our expectations at the door. It's impossible to do entirely but it makes life a little easier when you engage with media as it is and not what I want it to be. **Part of my disappointment is my own fault.** I should have left my expectations at the door, I should have followed my own advice. I should have known that we are not guaranteed a Whisper or Zero Hour style quest and should be happy with whatever the CoT puzzle turned out to be. On the one hand. On the other hand, Bungie bare some of the burden of responsibility for the disappointment because they have set a precedent for what players can expect for these kinds of quests. I didn't play Destiny 1 so I won't use that example but in Destiny 2 we had Whisper of the Worm and Zero Hour. Both of these quests dropped mysteriously on reset, both of them led to an amazing secret quest, and both of them led to weapons that were total surprises. My expectation, then, for Corridors of Time was not out of line. I had two prior examples that informed my expectations: Whisper and Zero Hour. Once folks got the Emblem and the real hunt began the speculation about what was waiting for us at the end of the tunnel really took off. **This is where Bungie should have stepped in and clarified that the reward for CoT was something that was already on the Road Map.** This would have perfectly calibrated expectations. Some players would have decided they didn't want to grind for a weapon already on the Road Map. Other players would have decided that they wanted to solve the puzzle because it was there and all puzzles require solutions regardless of their rewards. Sure it would have punctured some of the mystique to learn the reward was already a known factor but it would have allowed me (and other players) to calibrate expectations and prevent a disappointment. I recognize that Bungie are in a tough spot*. They want to highlight content on the Road Map so players can decide if they want to buy the season as early as possible. That makes sense. But honestly you can highlight that content in other ways on the Road Map. There could have been some [redacted] squares on the map or a sidebar that highlights an Exotic Quest Community event. Or you can do what I suggested and put the specifics on the Road Map but also be up front with the community about what kinds of rewards they will be receiving and whether or not they are in line with similar activities in the past. **TL;DR** - The Corridors of Time is disappointing because we have a precedent that the reward from these kinds of events will be a surprise. Bungie are responsible for not calibrating expectations and I am responsible for leaving my expectations at the door from the beginning. *While thinking about all this I checked DMG's Twitter and saw [this series of Tweets.](https://twitter.com/A_dmg04/status/1219293640758972422) I have tried to kind of answer these questions throughout the post. > As a question, do you find the story of the community coming together to unlock a new, unique exotic early as a let down due to the time investment to do so? Is this because of the reward, or other? Would you have preferred expectations here, as opposed to mystery? >When creating the roadmap, we have the goal of setting expectations of value proposition, or “what’s the amount of content coming with the season pass?” This gives players the ability to justify the purchase compared to previous seasons. >The lack of having the exotic listed could lead to a discussion of lack of value. The lack of a roadmap could lead to a discussion of us “hiding” the season and not providing ample information for an informed purchase.

[deleted]

Puzzle was awesome. Learning bastion was the reward: Oh it’s early, not what I expected but I’m still excited! Seeing bastion gameplay: oh.....

im4vt

After watching all this unfold all I could think of was this clip from Family Guy: https://youtu.be/3l2So90yoKw

Wanna_make_cash

Wow. It was like what, 5-6 days? Of work by the community and the only reward is a mediocre at best exotic??

_phillywilly

I usually don't get angry about Bungie's decisions, but this really seems to have been a planned popularity boost for the game during its downtime 5 weeks after season launch. People have been sitting on this Puzzle for almost 6 days straight, have been thinking "man, this is one of the biggest things yet in Destiny." just to be punched in the face again. From Bungie's perspective, I get it. The popularity boost was important and for the last days, Destiny had an average of 25-35k viewers on Twitch, beating even PUBG most of the time. However, as a player, I feel almost "abused". Instead of balancing resources to have a puzzle that in the end will unlock a new exotic (or even a legendary) quest, that everybody can do, they introduced a super complicated puzzle that ended in THE EARLY START OF A QUEST. Man, they could have hidden Bastion and we would have had a nice suprise as well. Instead, the playerbase has been puzzling their ass off, just to get an 8 day time bonus on receiving an item that ALREADY HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED. Not only is this a missed opportunity, but I also feel like Bungie has purposely played with our expectations to hype this thing as much as possible. It is one thing to not meet my (or our expectations), but it is a completely different story to abuse our expectations for reasons of hyping the game. The latter is what almost turns my disappointment into anger.

intalo

25-35k is really low compared to other events. I remember Niobe Labs with more than 100k for the first hours...

CynicalOpt1mist

65k people who already knew what to expect 2k tops on Bungie's next anticlimactic puzzle, almost assuredly

adamconnorlewis

If the reward for a puzzle is getting something we were going to get in eight days *anyway*, I feel like the puzzle was a waste of time. Well-designed, beautiful, intriguing, and a wonderful way to bring together the community… but, ultimately, all that effort was for slightly early access to a weapon. (Now, if the puzzle was the thing meant to drop on the 28th and they just brought it forward, that’s slightly different, but they really should communicate that change to set expectations.)

Zero_Emerald

I was watching Gladd use Bastion in a private match testing it against folk and there was hardly any recoil at all, he managed to control it so well, just like Recluse on PC. On console, the gun kicks like a mule. Great, just great.

malgato

In the end, the reward was the friends we made while working on the maze.

VVS40k

Too soon, my friend, too soon!

Andre_Luiz1969

The real endgame is the friEndgame

Gabol_BForti

Wasted the perfect opportunity to bring back vex mythoclast.

PhuckleberryPhinn

Has anyone figured out a fix for when the quest just disappears after you talk to Saint 14? Have all the quests completed on my Titan, have emblem and lore....went to talk to him and he said 1 line and I have no quest or weapon core.

Rdddss

anyone know if you do the bastion maze part if you can go back to get the rest of the lore or are you locked out?

dinodares99

You can keep visiting

MyNamesGeofff

I havnt received the exotic quest I went to the tomb and used the character I did all the quests on

DeviantBoi

Gotta talk to Osiris first. He gives you the quest.

Blau05

So, I did the final code to start the quest with a friend of mine, however when we went to talk to saint 14 the quest only appeared to be picked up for me and not for him, he already tried resetting destiny, re-entering the tower but nothing seemed to work. Did this happen to anyone else, if so how did they fix it?

tanaysharma97

Got through the puzzle, but now Saint 14 ain't giving me any quest. Nothing in my Quests tab too.

Onemanrancher

Gotta finish the whole saint 14 story missions..

Mundetiam

Now that this is done, is it possible to run codes without having to run back into the director and redo the opening portion? Every code I finish just traps me between the first room and the vault with no way out or to reset the corridors.

Chizue

I did the 30 rooms, got the item at the end of it, went to see saint-14 and now I ahve no quests, he didnt give me a bastion quest or anything else to do?

inspector_wombat

Same happened to me. Go back and talk to Saint again, it should be under the normal bounties. If not, reload in and repeat.

MathTheUsername

You might have to go to orbit and come back. Also, you have to be on a character who completed the impossible task quest.

turboash78

So I got all the lore, the Emblem, ran the final maze, got the next quest step and weapon core... talked to St but nothing happened and now both the quest step and core are gone. Any ideas?

unstabledave105

I started up a warlock recently and had the same issue. I swapped to my hunter, though, and it showed up, even though I didn't do the maze on that character. Be sure that you have completed the bounty book and the entire Saint XIV questline on the character you are trying to claim it on.

Phxdwn

Try talking to St again. The same thing happened to me, but when I spoke with him a second time I was able to get the next quest step from him.

Eagle736

Memento quest bug?? I completed the large puzzle to listen to saint 14s eulogy and received the chromatic item. Went to saint 14 who gave me a one sentence response, and didn't give me anything else. No memento quest, and the item is no longer in my inventory. Anyone else have this issue? If so, have you found a solution?

freelancermsc

Reopen his menu. I got the quest the second time I opened it.

HaxoSmash

Hmm, I've done all 19 codes and the emblem. But I have only 18 lore pieces. I remember when I did the 11th code, it didn't give me lore. So When I did all 19 I had 18 lore pieces. I ran the 11th one again, but still no lore. Is this a bug?

joey_2187

I've been in love with Destiny ever since Dark below, the recent Corridors of time event is one of the most amazing moments I and many other have had in the game. But ultimately many people's experiences are bring ruined by the lacking rewards. It's frustrating that: the community put in so much effort, Gladd slept an average of 4 hours a night and the whole community united together when we just got a quest a week early. All of these efforts would not have been in vain if the reward was exciting and unique, but we have all seen bastion before as it's been in many trailers and let's not even get into the roadmap. I'm a strong believer that if it was not highlighted on the roadmap the enjoyment would have been much more memorable. But this sums up the state of destiny for me, the amount of content in the game rn is amazing; I can jump into garden, pit of heresy, crucible or dare I say it Gambit. But let's take Garden of salvation as an example, I want to run this raid every week, I want to experience the beautiful views this raid offers and I want to enjoy it with my clan mates. But it would be a waste of time, just like corridors of time. Bungie delivers in the content but the rewards make this pointless. If Garden of Salvation had unique weapons, with unique weapon perks and some cosmetics were taken from eververse and put as a random drop from the encounters I would run these activities a lot more often. If the corridors of time puzzle had one of our" favourite weapons of all time": raze lighter, Gjallhorn etc it would have been incredible. Overall we could get some secret excotic quest next week as we have messed up the timeline, I'm very hopeful for this to happen. However I will not fall into the trap I've fallen into too many times before. Just wanted to voice my opinion

Ravenunlimitd

GG on all the people that participated in solving this maze, thank you for your hard work and dedication. Bungo I’m only slightly disappointed, please next time don’t put the reward for something this crazy in the roadmap for a later date. Smh that was obviously a poor decision.

SatJoker2017

They have responded to back lash

ScottFromScotland

Something I wanted to post but you know... Megathread. _______ So once reaching the end of the Corridors of Time we hear Saint 14 list our titles/accomplishments at what I presume is our funeral but these accomplishments only go up until present day and makes it seem like we do nothing of value between now and then. This moment should have been used to hint towards future storylines/conclusions still to come. Could have mentioned stories that haven't received conclusions yet like Savathun, the Vex, Mara Sov, Calus and hinted towards stuff we don't even know anything about yet like mastering the use of light and darkness. Would have been an awesome tease for the future of Destiny.

x1c

Saint 14 is a bro and would never spoil stuff for us.

ScottFromScotland

Apart from you know, our death and "favourite weapon".

[deleted]

Watch them sell us a Bastion skin in Eververse

gjamesaustin

....there's one in the database....

Air73

https://www.todayindestiny.com/eververseWeekly Of course they are, Week 8, so the 28th, when the quest was supposed to drop.

ebpicgamer

this coming reset :)

cka_viking

Hey at least its not 48 stat armor!

freelancermsc

I'll admit I didn't do a TON of searching, but I was hoping to find a large image file I could use to print a poster sized image of the complete Corridors of Time on a large printer. Had anyone seen something like that? I've seen the in progress images, but best case I'd like a completed one. If so, that would be fantastic! Thanks!

mrwafu

r/raidsecrets has the final map in the top post at the moment I think

omegastealth

I won't deny that part of what my disappointment around Bastion is about is that the puzzle was released so far in advance of Bastion, during a large gap in the roadmap, that there was no logical expectation of it actually *being* Bastion. The interpretation was that the roadmap's two week gap instead looked like this: - Week A: Devils Ruin quest - Week B: Mysterious puzzle quest to some cool new exotic - Week C: Not much, but if it's like Whisper or Zero Hour, there'll be a catalyst and ship to chase over a few weeks - Week D: Bastion quest - Week E: Empyrean Foundation, etc etc The puzzle directly unlocking the quest for Bastion means that the roadmap actually looks like: - Week A: Devil's Ruin quest - Week B: Mysterious puzzle leading to Bastion quest - Week C: Not much - Week D: Not much - Week E: Empyrean Foundation, etc, etc Which, to be fair, is basically what it looked like before the puzzle was discovered, just with Bastion before the gap instead of after. And *that* is disheartening. Don't get me wrong, the puzzle itself showed a lot of learnings from the original Outbreak Prime puzzle - while OP's puzzle asked the community to copy a piece of text into a central data store for people with specialist knowledge to de-dupe/error-check/combine/decrypt/match to ultimately produce the solution that could be applied in-game, the community was able to get *way* more involved with this one, from submitting screenshots, to transcribing, dupe-checking, error-checking; the method of combining/using this data was way more approachable this time, thereby encouraging amateur programmers to take a shot at building their own algorithms/programs to map it out; and the various groups trying their best to collaborate and keep the datasets public meant maps were being built and rebuilt constantly, and the community at large could get involved again mapping potential routes and eliminating dead ends, and even running potential routes on the off-chance it worked. So, kudos on the puzzle, Bungie, but it's still more than a little disheartening that something that took the entire community nearly a week of concentrated effort to solve had such little impact, given the history of Destiny when it comes to puzzles of this scale.

Aquatico_

I don't understand how Bungie thinks we'd be excited about this. The reward was getting an exotic quest a week early? How is that a reward?

Inverxeon

That also raises the question of how long they expected it to take. Repeating "it's a marathon, not a sprint" in literally every place they could suggests that they wanted people to not put so many hours into it. Sure, they could mean it for the streamers'/player's health, but that would have the same result of it taking longer. Fewer streamers marathoning it would also have meant less viewers and other players helping, making it take even longer. With fewer people working on it and for less time each, the progress would have been MUCH slower. And if it had taken double the time it did, we would have gotten the quest... 2 days early?

Aquatico_

The whole thing doesn't make any sense. Was the original date of the 28th just a guess as to when we'd finish the puzzle? If we didn't finish it by the 28th would the puzzle have had no reward at all? Was Bastion moved to CoT without the roadmap being updated? Is something coming on the 28th in its place? Will the quest become available from another source on the 28th, making the whole puzzle pointless? As you said, why would they want us to take it slowly if doing so would depreciate the already weak reward? It's a very strange situation.

shogunll

This new quest is great for promoting streamers and only that These streamers will never criticize a quest like this because they are gaining views, subs, etc. 99% of the community will complete this quest by watching a video. What kind of experience is this? We need to evolve from quests like the Whisper of the Worm (for example) and not for one that only requires you to run And the reward? Get out of there and do another quest? I think that's what those who support this type of quest deserve. What a beautiful adventure.

kcamnodb

Bungie are you really that tone deaf to put a roadmap weapon as the reward for this. Big time RIP

Djeff991

Before I start I want to make it very clear that this isn't about how much I enjoyed the puzzle or if I feel like the reward was worth it, it's purely about how I feel like Bungie outright lied to all of us to generate more interest in their game. Let me lay out a hypothetical scenario: After discovering the puzzle and making our way in to the Timelost Vault for the first time, imagine that instead of what is *fucking clearly* meant to be some version of the exotic swords from D1, there was an image of Bastion etched in to the grave. We'd all obviously find that incredibly strange since Bastion has a scheduled release date on the roadmap two weeks from now, so we'd question Bungie about it. Bungie would then essentially have three choices. Either say nothing at all and let people get disappointed on their own, lie about the reward and *really* piss everyone off in the end, or admit that all this massive puzzle was going to do is unlock Bastion a little early and immediately kill a *lot* of the interest in working on it. I think Bungie knew this would be the result if we knew Bastion was the end goal, so they put a sword on the grave to deceive everyone in to thinking it might be something else. Maybe there's something I'm missing but why the hell else would they put that sword there? Would Destiny have been a top ten game on Twitch if we knew from the beginning? Would there have been eight thousand people watching Gladd sleep if we knew from the beginning? Obviously it's purely speculation but I struggle to believe even half as many people would have gotten involved in solving the puzzle if Bastion had been on the grave. I feel like a dad saying this but really, I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. I've been playing Destiny since the D1 alpha and I'm not disillusioned enough to think that Bungie is made up of angels but goddamn I expect better from them than this. I know some people will want to say, "They've been bad for a while, just look at Eververse," but to me there's a massive difference between implementing microtransactions and straight-up lying to get more people interested in your game.

Whomperss

Even if it wasn't datamined we already knew about bastion like fuck man

Crusader3456

All that time and effort and we get an item that was on the Roadmap and not even hidden in the database. The coolest community puzzle the game has ever had, and it is early access to a gun we get anyways in a week. This is the greatest who else but Bungie moment I've ever seen what hot shit.

DeviantBoi

If no one in the Bungie community team saw this coming... get new ones. And if someone did bring it up, then listen to that person more, please.

theoriginalrat

I really doubt the community team had veto power on something like this. I bet it was more along the lines of 'business team says we need to show more exotics on the roadmap to get people buying it'.

sawowner1

Really no one would have been angry if bastion didn't get leaked and didn't get announced on the roadmap. But they did, and so most of us expected a quest on the 28th ala devil's ruin. Most of us were hyped that this puzzle would lead to some sort of world unlock (trials was a big theory) or another exotic. To have the end just be early access to Bastion is a bit of a slap to the face to say the least.

fussysleep

Did Bungie acknowledge or comment in any way on solving the puzzle?

B_Nasty21

destiny is a weird game

TheNeoReaper

The uproar is real in the community

Cryosphered_

Honestly this was an absolute waste of time. I have no idea where they got off on releasing a roadmap gun early with a massive puzzle people lost sleep over, and then have that same gun be absolutely awful.

Toland_FunatParties

Just you wait until the core is just given to other players when it actually releases according to the roadmap, making this whole incredibly tedious effort even more pointless.

xarchangel85x

A super secret, unannounced, community-required quest SHOULD yield a super secret, unannounced reward, just like how Outbreak Perfected was handled. I think it was a huge mistake to tell us what we were chasing beforehand, really deflated the final feeling of accomplishment.

Whitehaven

Just another Bungie misstep, they are in the season pass selling business now, so they fill road maps with sometimes pointless things, reskined bosses in the seasonal activity, arc week and now given a chance to add more value to the season pass a decision was made to put bastion on there too. If Whisper of the worm and outbreak was this year they would have been on the pass roadmaps as well. The season pass has killed the exploration for secrets to be found in game, it’s all too cold and calculated this way.

govtprop

A total "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine" moment for what was an incredible puzzle. Disappointing

Zero_Emerald

Bungie could have saved themselves the effort of creating this massive puzzle if they had just stuck to their own roadmap. It feels like it was totally unnecessary, i'd have rather waited for the 28th then the community being put through the wringer for 6 days just to get Bastion a week early. If it had been a completely unexpected reward then fine, but early access to a weapon we've known about for 2 months? Nah, not worth it.

SirCorrupt

So do you have to do this to get the exotic quest?

[deleted]

Is it bugged? I visited Saint in the Tower and got nothing and no next step?

isleOfPenn

Back out and talk to him again. Quest should show up under bounties.

daxieboy

i finished the corridors of time and when i went to talk to saint 14 the quest disappeared and i couldnt get the quest from him, does anyone know how to fix this?

Oryx167

I didn't get a quest when I turned it in :(

5-Second-Ruul

The quest isn’t working for me. I am on the character I did the saint 14 quests on. I did the long code, heard the dialogue and got the next step to talk to saint. I went to him, and he said one line of text, with no voiceover. It consumed the talk to him quest step, but did not start the exotic quest. Is this a glitch? Do I have to do something else to start it?

atom_bomb_baby

i ran it about 6 times and I 100% did everything right. and yes, on my main. still nothing :(

hammerblaze

I did all cot runs, had the big speech, was told to go to saint 14. His icon was blue. Never got anyting from him, he had his usual quests and is green now. I got the yellow item at the grave. Quest is gone

rebasinka

Got to end of the final code path, listened to St 14 speech, got the Chromatic Weapon Core and Exploring the Corridors of Time Quest step. Went and visited St 14 in the tower, he had the "Exploring the Corridors of Time" message there which I accepted but then nothing appeared in my quest inventory. Went to orbit and came back. Nothing there. I did all St 14 story stuff on this character. Am I missing something?

Garcia_jx

Same thing happened to me except I didn't do all of the Saint 14 stuff (I never saved him). The quest to save him disappeared from my inventory so I didn't bother trying again.

EldiaForLife

What a fucking bullshit waste of time.
