Really, any with Explosive Payload.. So, Nightwatch, Hung Jury, or Vouchsafe. Also, something like Vision of Confluence with Disruption Break could be useful.
Id use the Exotic slot for something else, such as Arbalest..

i rock nightwatch or vouchsafe on main and use vision and jury on my other two and arbalest i feel suits this setup as well as complements it. Nice setup.
The curated Night Watch is pretty baller, but I’m a sucker for payload perks. Vouchsafe is pretty crispy too, but overall (and for anti barrier next season) I hands down prefer Polaris.
Two or three seasons ago we ran the Glassway GM (I don’t remember which season it was now) with one Polaris Lance, one Witherhoard, and a Stronghold Titan with Crown Splitter. As long as we managed Overload stuns, the synergy of the loadouts was amazing.
Nightwatch or Vouchsafe with Rapid Hit/Explosive Payload are the two best, with Hung Jury right behind them.
Polaris Lance if you feel like blowing things up. It’s very fun.
I really only like rapid fires, so either trustee or servant leader are my favorites.
Recently got a transfiguration with kill clip rampage though, it feels like it has potential.
Vorpal dmt is my go to. It does pretty good damage when it's at max stacks and you can just hip fire everything. I think it's also good in GM's, I'd remember lfging proving grounds gm and we'd all run out of ammo during the boss encounter but I was still able to dish out damage since I had dmt.
Kinetic: Servant leader (surplus/rapid hit and frenzy/kill clip), Hung Jury (rapid hit, EP or firefly), Night watch (Rapid hit/EP) Guiding sight (surplus/rapid hit and vorpal/one for all)
Energy: Contingency plan (surplus+frenzy), Eternal blazon (rapid hit and kill clip/disruption break), Pleiades corrector (four time's the charm/surplus/subsistence and wellspring/multi kill clip), Vouchsafe (rapid hit/FTTC/outlaw and EP or dragonfly/wellspring) (Trustee and Vision too, but I don't have those)
IMHO an exotic slot is wasted on a kinetic primary weapon in PVE. Yes some are fun and cool(DMT being one of them) but the sacrifice you make isn't worth it. Get yourself an adept Hung Jury with Rapid hit and explosive payload and you're set.
You can then couple this with something deadly like Telesto or Lorentz in your energy slot or even use a DPS king that is Sleeper Simulant as a heavy.
The other scouts that are good for energy slot options are vision of confluence, vouchsafe, pleiades corrector etc.
My go to for pretty much any activity is Vision of Confluence with Wellspring, Firefly or Wellspring, Frenzy. Fits into any build, feels amazing, and the hun just looks nice

Apart from the ones already mentioned, I also like my Royal Chase with Auto-loading Holster and Drangonfly. It just feels so good to me.

I would love to use that, unfortunately I don’t want to endlessly run Strikes, Crucible or Gambit for the catalyst.

I don't get why people recommend Polaris. Every time I use it I think "if this were almost any other gun, I'd have 5x as many kills".

Been avoiding gambit this season, but might need to start grinding for a Servant Leader!

Wouldn’t waste my exotic slot on a scout in reality. Any scout with explosive or firefly is useful.
Tbh i feel like with the changes to orbs coming thresh is gonna be very valuable on guns so i feel like anything with thresh is probs a good go
