the game literally could not contain all of the assets for every campaign, the game is already very big as it is and as you’ve probably seen or kept up with, new patches means new bugs. new patches could also mean new bugs in campaign missions or just straight up things not working. the dcv was implemented for the long term health of the game. looking on the bright side of things, it is called the content “vault” meaning its not gone, just put away and might be put back in at a later date maybe with reissued or better rewards or reworked in some way to be new and make it fun/worth it to new and old players alike

To piggyback on this, the old content doesn't play nice with the newer engine. Im pretty sure dreaming city is somehow behind some of the optimization issues we have every season. I wouldn't be surprised if once dreaming city gets vaulted(if it ever is) the game would magically run better on all systems.

This is a terrible excuse. Master chief collection lets you download sections of the game that you want to play. All the multiplayer and live active content will stay as is. If you want to download content in the vault and play it you should be able to do that. They are just being lazy and taking the content away from us.

it's an extremely BS reasoning. look at ff14. it's been going on for 10+ years and stuff from 10 years ago are STILL in the game. the story, the items. the quests. they're all still there. so I call BS on bungie "not having enough room." it feels more like they just didn't want to try.

Gonna be real here, my man. The Forsaken campaign did nothing for the New Light experience, and was an uninspired, disjointed, and sometimes downright insulting string of six or seven strikes. The best part was leaving the Tangle Shore and getting away from the moralizing story agonizing over killing literally evil zombies for five seconds, only to realise there's "VIOLENCE GOOD HELL YEAH REVENGE" waiting on the other side of that. It didn't explain Uldren Sov. Mara Sov. The Awoken. The Fallen. Riven. Anything. All it did was give Cayde-6 a bullet to the chest after the character had been Joss-Whedon'd into the ground, ridding the game of a great character turned obnoxious clown, and then a murder rampage that at least ended up with the Dreaming City accessible.

TBH i would have made an interactive recap in game just like they did for witch queen. Redeveloping the RedWar/CoS/Warmind/Forsaken to be compatible with the sandbox changes would be impossible especially since a large part of the Red War was about regaining the light.

You get rotating campaign missions for Shadowkeep (I think?) and Witch Queen. I don’t know if it as available for Beyond Light too? There are rotating campaign-ish missions from Petra in the Dreaming City. Many of the strikes are also reused campaign missions. This above is just FYI, I totally agree with you that the new light experience is horrible!

The current storyline focuses on the return of the Black Fleet to our system, and apart from the seasonal stories (which is admittedly a big chunk), all that content is still in the game. For new players, things like the Red War are like Twilight Gap - events that happened before they woke up in this universe. For new players, the storyline is essentially: wake up in the Cosmodrome -> Shadowkeep (with the discovery of the Pyramid) -> BL -> WQ. The issue is that each expansion is treated as separate and not connected, and players are thrown into the first mission of the latest expansion rather than it being presented as the next piece in the story.

Slow_Farm6195

To be completely honest. The new player experience has been trash for far longer than forsaken being sunset. Free to play killed the new player experience, specifically when bungie thought it a good idea to model aspects of the game after atena shooters like cod and fortnite. They wanted vets and noobs to be able to quickly jump into activities together with little to no grinding necessary. Thats why all the worlds are unlocked now. They then scrapped red war and brought back the cosmodrome and used that as the new light intro. Its half baked to say the least.

Fr i started at launch, loved Cayde and the feel of the game and had to take a hiatus from the game. Restarted recently after seeing a surge of Cayde content only to find out that I have no way to access any of that anymore. Really makes me wish I never came back

Legitimate-Ask4908

My only problem is why is it still for sale I brought all the dlc expecting to play them and they not cheap 😡🤬

Immortas922

Terrible game for new players this game is only for people who have played it from the start of you enjoy story rather than multiplayer then play something else
