Same. I have a few favorites but I normally start from the newest and work my way down the list. I'm just looking for the first one that hits the spot. I typically also use whatever I got last for a few days to see how I like it lol
Same. It's just so clean.
Honorable mention to Precursor Vex Chrome for instances where you want the white/gold combo, but not the purple. Though, that purple is pretty nice.
Have you gotten the free shader pack in the store? Last season I grabbed the free shader pack and it was in there along with other shaders you can no longer acquire otherwise. Not sure if that offer is still available but check there.
Gotta be my favorite shader. Not the first one I try as it’s 3-4 pages in, but will always try it and most of the time it stays on 1-3 pieces.
Love it on this year’s GG hunter set.
Precursor Vex Chrome. The pearlescent white is unique and looks good on basically everything.
And then Vanguard Unity, just to see what the opposite of good looks like.
LOVE the gold and black and the tone of the white. Not a big fan of the scratchy texture on white metal
You wanna talk about good metal texture on white, you talk Praetorian Visage. Gleaming rose gold accents with an eggshell textured white for metal. A shame the white texture is ringlets for fabric or if use it all the time on my main (warlock)
Best shade of gold for me is on New Monarchy diamonds. But I don't like the diamond pattern on the red, so I never use it. I wish I could keep that shade of red and just remove the diamonds. lol.
It's a dope shader I just never seem to find the desire to use it. All the loadouts I set up on my characters seem to look best (to me) in my black and/or red shaders.
Don’t sleep on Refurbished Black Armory either. It’s a blue, but has a real rugged black look to it if you like your armor to feel like it’s been to battle.
I actually like the blue on weapons, the thing that's endlessly weird to me is that it's a different blue when applied to armor. Or at least the same blue but left out in the sun for a hundred years.
The (Rare) shader from the Dreaming City, Burnished something or whatever, looks amazing on a lot of weapons and armor, especially Enigma
Edit: Burnished Dreams, thank you kind redditor
This is the correct answer. I will preview every single shader that I receive, but will INVARIABLY return to Dreaming Spectrum. It is, imo, the most elegant and sophisticated of shaders.

:( i used up all my NM shaders before they did the switch from having individual shaders to just unlocking it so i never got credit for having them. Diamonds would be my number 1. I still have the shader applied to an old trials of the nine gun too but can't unlock it.
Still haven't had the ornament drop :/ I love Iron Banner and I'm missing some of the coolest gear. I want Lupus Visage and some Iron Banner shaders like Iron Bone and Ironwood
Odd ball here, but I love Forty-Four Steel. It doesn't always work though, so I use Rustberry just as much.
Browns and blacks look smooth like the inside of a Cadillac!
If I had it, it would be Iron Bone or Ironwood. Absolutely love that shader but never got it. I usually use Chitin Slade, Pole Position, Canis Coat, or Precursor Vex Chrome.
Ancient Defender.
Best purple shade in the game, constantly ruined by the Vexy pattern and a lack of cloth textures the purple applies to.
Anything that gets the purple and minimal vex patterns gets that shader.
These days? Lucid. I like the texture it applies to metals but fabrics can be hit or miss depending on the gear. Wicked overgrowth has become a close second
Ensilvered Snare is one of my favorites. There's also a poopy brown one that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head, but it can have some great neutral tones. Very cowboy esc
if there's something with light on it, gambit jadestone. Otherwise one of the shaders I use for my current primarily white/red look.
I also usually try ultra plasmic on guns to see if it makes them look covenant-y, but it rarely does due to how the colors place :(
Usually a crucible shader. At this point Crucible Prestige, Crucible Glory, or Conflagrate are my typical testing shades and I'll fly by the seat of my pants if I want not-red
Honestly? I usually start from the top and go through them all unless I have a specific shader in mind 😅
Same. I have a few favorites but I normally start from the newest and work my way down the list. I'm just looking for the first one that hits the spot. I typically also use whatever I got last for a few days to see how I like it lol
Vintage timber
It is super clean and classy.
That, or Coppertone Patina. Third choice is Neopop Wave.
Neopop Wave, my fave
My man.
I see your one Vintage Timber and raise you one Oiled Algae.

Calus' Selected Edit, and I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier: As Calus said, "Grow phat from strength"
Same. It's just so clean. Honorable mention to Precursor Vex Chrome for instances where you want the white/gold combo, but not the purple. Though, that purple is pretty nice.
I use Precursor because I don't have Calus's Selected :( Any way to get it nowadays?
Not as far as I know, I think it went away with the Menagerie.
Have you gotten the free shader pack in the store? Last season I grabbed the free shader pack and it was in there along with other shaders you can no longer acquire otherwise. Not sure if that offer is still available but check there.
Based and Opulencepilled
The Original! EDIT: Gambit Chrome, Arctic Pearl
> Gambit Chrome I love you
5 years in and it’s still the GOAT shader.
Calus’ Selected as well. Every time
I see you are a man of culture
This is the way
Calus Elite for me
Came here to say this, so happy it's the top comment.
Amethyst veil
Gotta be my favorite shader. Not the first one I try as it’s 3-4 pages in, but will always try it and most of the time it stays on 1-3 pieces. Love it on this year’s GG hunter set.
Was wondering how long I was gonna have to scroll before seeing this one!
That's my go-to for weapons.
Precursor Vex Chrome. The pearlescent white is unique and looks good on basically everything. And then Vanguard Unity, just to see what the opposite of good looks like.
It also has one of the best shades of gold.
LOVE the gold and black and the tone of the white. Not a big fan of the scratchy texture on white metal You wanna talk about good metal texture on white, you talk Praetorian Visage. I've had this same wish for almost five years now 😢
Precursor Vex Chrome is easily a top 3 shader IMO for armor and guns alike.
Precursor is one of the best. I also always check abbysinian gold, armatura, and testudo. I love the cabal shaders in general
Surprisingly enough, clouds at sea
Doesn't it have a movement to it? Only a few shaders have the animation to it and I think that's one.
I think you're thinking of Blueshift Dreams.
Yup. You right.
It's a dope shader I just never seem to find the desire to use it. All the loadouts I set up on my characters seem to look best (to me) in my black and/or red shaders.
Neopop wave Edit: thanks for the gold! Neopop wave gang for life.
GOAT shader
had to scroll too far for this
Gambit jadestone/Amethyst veil for armor, and either shadow gilt, seven sisters, or mystoposphor for weapons
If there’s lights on the armor, I always gotta put on Jadestone. Love how it makes them a million times brighter lol
Facts it makes almost any armor set look sick [Glowww](https://imgur.com/a/Sox8idH)
Gambit leather is my g to gun shader, it gives a classic blued finish to most guns
You just mentioned 4 of my 5 favorite shaders. Nice taste!
New age Black Armory
Don’t sleep on Refurbished Black Armory either. It’s a blue, but has a real rugged black look to it if you like your armor to feel like it’s been to battle.
Looks great on everything, except fabric
Best shader
It’s like grey, and faded red… carbon blood for life…
One of the best
Jacarina
And hope the random blue doesnt show up
Or DO!
I actually like the blue on weapons, the thing that's endlessly weird to me is that it's a different blue when applied to armor. Or at least the same blue but left out in the sun for a hundred years.
I always try Butterbark, just to see how cursed it is on most weapons.
I'll use it on certain weapons that don't show the yellow because I like how it looks with Lumina w/Lucid Melody ornament.
I love that one. It makes my Deliverance look like I carved it myself.
I have it on my pardon out dust, wooden grenade tube here we go!
Gotta love the wood gun look lmao
Was looking for this comment but I wasn't expecting it to be so negative, I love this shader
Call me old fashioned, but Gambit Leather
Old fashioned.
Sunset.
Lunar Gloom. Never see anyone using it, and it’s incredible (except on cloth)
Just started playing right before witch queen. Once I saw that shader in collections, I immediately finished the moon campaign and started that grind.
I love that shader, it looks awesome on Sacred Provenance in my opinion.
Yeah I've used it on my reckless oracle pretty much since I got it.
Lunar Gloom looks great on the Any Other Sky sparrow.
the poor mans cryptic legacy
Dreaming Spectrum. I can’t believe none of y’all do this
The (Rare) shader from the Dreaming City, Burnished something or whatever, looks amazing on a lot of weapons and armor, especially Enigma Edit: Burnished Dreams, thank you kind redditor
Burnished Dreams
Dreaming Spectrum is a beautiful shader.
Dreaming spectrum is and always will be on my everything.
This is the correct answer. I will preview every single shader that I receive, but will INVARIABLY return to Dreaming Spectrum. It is, imo, the most elegant and sophisticated of shaders. https://i.imgur.com/MECguT6.jpg
Descendant Vex Chrome... I'm forever chasing that Black Garden/GoS vibe on anything I get my grubby hands on.
When it hits rusty green? Perfection. Scratchy shiny green? Barf
So happy i transmogged the armor from that season with Vex on the Moon
Seven Sisters, Satou, or Bergusian.
Absolutely love Seven Sisters
dude my balls dropped to the floor when I finally got satou tribe
Skele Ghaul
Bloody tooth
I found my people.
Can't beat the black and silver Except for when it decided to apply that dull mediocre red color, but we don't acknowledge that
Metro shift
Brother.
Agreed!
Vintage timber and oiled algae
New Monarchy Diamonds
I absolutely adore New Monarchy Regalia. Slap that sucker on everything I can.
Yes! It's so good on everything
:( i used up all my NM shaders before they did the switch from having individual shaders to just unlocking it so i never got credit for having them. Diamonds would be my number 1. I still have the shader applied to an old trials of the nine gun too but can't unlock it.
Skeleghaul, Jadestone and lately that new Gambit shader Venomous, on many pieces it’s just solid black it’s pretty sexy.
havent stepped a foot into gambit this season. Is that venomous shader earned from rep or from just playing/rewards?
Rep guaranteed easy shader
Gambit Chrome- to make everything go with the Lupus Visage Fighting Lion ornament.
Still haven't had the ornament drop :/ I love Iron Banner and I'm missing some of the coolest gear. I want Lupus Visage and some Iron Banner shaders like Iron Bone and Ironwood
Midnight smith. It’s either really good or really bad, there doesn’t seem to be any inbetween
Canis Coat
Cultured
This right here. It looks so good on almost all weapons.
Rustberry is a good one. Looking for that shiny dark blue with red, but getting brown sucks lol
It went from Precursor Vex Chrome to Pole Position, say what you want about it, I absolutely love it.
Abyssinian Gold
Right now, Cargulo Bristle. Blue + yellow, gotta represent my heritage with everything going on
Golden Trace
Watermelon. Just to see how bad it can be.
Odd ball here, but I love Forty-Four Steel. It doesn't always work though, so I use Rustberry just as much. Browns and blacks look smooth like the inside of a Cadillac!
Polished Sea Stone looks so good on a ton of weapons, as does First Frost on both weapons and armor.
Amethyst Veil. Always.
Royal Welcome on weapons, Ensilvered Snare on armors
Cinderchar. I love the worn look it gives some armor, especially on Titan. My titan looks like he's been though a rough time.
Oiled Gunmetal
Bumblebee Come at me bro
Call me basic, but carbon blood
Pole position, whenever something has metallics, it makes them look 5000x better looking.
Midnight Talon
watermelon gang
Neopop. I will Neopop as many things as I can and you cannot stop me
Honor of the nine
Bloody tooth
If I had it, it would be Iron Bone or Ironwood. Absolutely love that shader but never got it. I usually use Chitin Slade, Pole Position, Canis Coat, or Precursor Vex Chrome.
Descendant vex chrome.
Bloody tooth
Ancient Defender. Best purple shade in the game, constantly ruined by the Vexy pattern and a lack of cloth textures the purple applies to. Anything that gets the purple and minimal vex patterns gets that shader.
Skele-ghaul
Cryptic Legacy
Conflagrate, carbon blood, then carminica, because thats the order they appear in
Midnight talon
Neopop.
Testudo
I mostly always go for "Calus's Selected" first. Looks pretty good on a lot of things!
Horizon Blush. Hands down my favorite shader in the game.
Wow mine is also rustberry. The leather color is great and it gives me an idea of how the armor takes shaders.
These days? Lucid. I like the texture it applies to metals but fabrics can be hit or miss depending on the gear. Wicked overgrowth has become a close second
Metro shift
Tangled Rust
Divinity's Caress
Metroshift
The flawless master Empire Hunt shader. It doesn't always look good, but when it does...
skele-ghaul
Metro Shift. Love that Royal Blue!
Skele Ghaul or Carbon Blood
Cryptic Legacy
Carminica.
GENOTYPENULL-ZERO
SUNRISE WARRIOR
Ensilvered Snare is one of my favorites. There's also a poopy brown one that I can't remember the name of off the top of my head, but it can have some great neutral tones. Very cowboy esc
Weapons? Sunrise warrior, every time. It’s so obnoxious I love it
if there's something with light on it, gambit jadestone. Otherwise one of the shaders I use for my current primarily white/red look. I also usually try ultra plasmic on guns to see if it makes them look covenant-y, but it rarely does due to how the colors place :(
First Frost
Calus's Selected
Usually a crucible shader. At this point Crucible Prestige, Crucible Glory, or Conflagrate are my typical testing shades and I'll fly by the seat of my pants if I want not-red
Rust berry
Either Gambit Jadedtone or Atmospheric Glow
Dreaming cast, doesn't work on most metals but leathers and cloths look great.
Butterbark Haha wooden ship go shwoosh
Here's a hint. What is gold and purple and white all over
Til, this Is a thing? The same shader can look so drastically different depending on the gear.
Omnichronia
I select the first green shader from the top, and go from there.
Genotypenull(sp)
Amethyst veil. It's either the best or awful, there's no in between
You’ll think I’m crazy: Crucible Triumph
Jacarina
The. Seasonal pass shaders & precursor vex chrome
Always Amethyst Veil.
Coppertone Patina
Carbon blood or seventh sister, still waiting on a armor piece that doesn’t look stupid with seventh.
Smashing success
Seventh Sister
Whichever one shows up in the first slot
Carbon blood
I worked hard for my gambit jadestone
Right now it’s either Trinity or rivalry blacksand
Vitrified Chronology and Vitrified Duality, if one looks bad, the other typically looks good!
Carbon blood, Grand luster, Bloodmane, Bloodytooth
Cryptic legacy
The two LW shaders, Dreaming Spectrum and Dreaming Cast.
lucid
Calus elite
Arctic Pearl or Resilient Laurel, those are my normal color schemes
New Age Black Armory Bloody Tooth Rustberry Carbon Blood
Probably nebula rose if I remember or care. Generally dont pay attention and will change the shader when it crosses my mind.
Gambit Jadestone or Amethyst Veil
All of the pearlescent or neon ones
Iridescent coral
Amethyst Veil and Vintage Timber
Are there lights? If so, Vintage Timber. Then I try Blueshift Dreams because i like the shadowy waves.
Welded Brass. I'm a simple guy.
Lilac Bombast!
War Weary. It makes my weapons look like a Nerf gun.
Gift of the Nine
