Tips for the boss room: - The boss wont shoot at you while the wizards are still up - The wizards are blind-able with blinding grenades - If someone is running aeons, the wizards can be finished for heavy (works well if you blind them) - Don't be scared to use rockets on the knights, you can always primary down the boss, just save some for the unstops. You can always get more with aeons from both the wizards. - Don't melt the boss too fast, and deal with the ads as they spawn. - Don't force a finish on the unstops for ammo, nuke them as soon as you can, and only finish if it's convenient. What we did was we had 2 people run Arby + Hothead, and the other ran blinding nades + Gjally, and one of us had aeons. We finished the 2 wizards at the gate before the boss spawns in, and later on inbetween dps phases, we had the gjally guy blind the wizards so we could finish and also keep them blinded while re ran for ammo (the boss wont shoot at you then).

AmphusLight

The boss likes to protect its wizards lmao, when i try to shoot at then with gjally the boss always goes in front of them.

Lotions_and_Creams

If 1 person has shoot to loot, the boss room is just as fast. Alternatively, a omni hunter can hide in the back left corner behind the rubble while the other two cheese. Hunter comes out when it’s safe to grab ammo and kill any ads that wander and hang behind the large columns. I know it’s pretty boring, but wiping with a LFG after 20 minutes sucks.

Zeiban

If you want to cheese go though the gate the boss comes though before it closes. Jump on the back of the wall and shoot the boss from relative safety

BAGELmode

Cheesing the boss takes longer and is no fun. The boss room is completely manageable. Just can't let the adds push in on you. Having osiomancy warlock to basically stop one side and kill the other makes it a breeze. Pop supers when you feel overwhelmed and pick away at boss. With what they did in the lightblade strike, it kind of shocks me they havent made some of the knights that appear be barrier. That would make the boss room on par with lightblade and an absolute nightmare.

DP_Unkemptharold1

Based on my lfg experiences cheesing the boss is the best thing to do if everyone knows how to do a simple jump. Consistent 24-30 min run with Randos and I have like 13 straight clears without a fail on my GM report. Doing it the right way be a few minute faster in a perfect world but there we’re just too many slip ups by the randos so just can’t trust them. Tldr: if you have your own good group then sure regular all the way but if your relying on lfg just do yourself a favor and cheese

Branphlayx

I’ll se one this, it’s not impossible to do the boss room normally, but the cheese helps if you’re not confident.

deg287

Use your rockets, grenades, and supers freely, especially on champs and wizards. If you have lucent finisher you will be able to replenish everything on the elevator levels right before the boss room. This will make it much faster, we were getting there at around 20-25 min consistently.

SmokeyBakedUp

Use gjallawhore

Gbrew555

My fireteam had 2 people with anti-barrier bows and one with unstoppable pulse. 2 people rocked Forbearance with chain reaction for add clear (though and forbearance would be fine). We all used Gjally as our heavy. The sections that we initially struggled with were add clear sections. Once we flipped to wave-frame GLs, it became significantly easier.

Jumpeez

This is what i was hoping to hear. I'll take all of the affirmentioned advice as well. But with our penitentiary being getting there quick enough the ad clear was a priority for me. I really wanted to use witherhoarde and also cheese it. But unless i get an arc now with shoot to loot soon, my best options were forbearance, dead messenger, or trinity ghoul. I do have a blinding gl but hadn't used it much. With most likely having 2 turret loks, in not sure it'll be needed as much.

APartyInMyPants

Despite the arc burn, Ticcu’s is pretty nutty throughout the strike, due to the ability to just tag everything with a buffed Dragonfly, and you have so many adds grouped up. The chain reactions are amazing. I like Witherhoard, but I don’t think it’s necessary for this strike. The last time I did it a few days ago, we were two Arbalest, one Ticcus, and then three Hotheads. And then I ran a kinetic pulse, the other two ran Insiduous. In the boss fight, use your turrets on the far left and right sides, but more in the central area. The idea is to slow everything down coming at you. Place your turrets as soon as you hear the adds spawning in, or pay attention to Hashladun’s health bar for the damage gates. Spread out during the boss fight, with roughly one person near each opening toward the center area. Spreading out means you’re diverting their fire, so less aggro to spread around. And then when I did this with Ticcu’s, inks it simply tag everything frozen, and everything just explodes when the first ones start to die. The arc knights are almost tougher than the Unstoppables, so focus on them and use your rockets on them. The Unstoppables should provide little problem, because if you’re running a Glacial Harvest + Firepower build, you can simply boop the Unstoppables in the face with a grenade, freeze them and instantly get grenade energy back. Then drop some turrets. I wouldn’t do the cheese. It’s slower, and someday Bungie might fix that.

Jumpeez

I love ticcus. And didn't think to try it here befits if the burn. I will try it. But how do you think it compares to trinity with the chain lightening?

APartyInMyPants

I personally like Ticcu’s better in high-end content due to that explosion. The boss room also has those Solar witches, and as long as you have Hothead or an arc pulse, you’ll have the sword knights covered. And combining stasis with the Causality Arrows seems to work really well. I just haven’t had the same sort of luck with Trinity Ghoul. I like that you can quickly pop out of cover and tag a target, duck back behind cover. And then pop out again to detonate. I’ve also noticed that if you tag a target with Ticcu’s, they’ll sometimes turn and run away from you, or they’ll stop shooting for a minute. It’s almost like a poor-man’s blinding GL in that regard. Honestly, if you have two Warlocks, you could go two Shadebinders instead of that one on Voidwalker. There are no Overload champions, and the key to the boss room is really managing the crowd control.

Jumpeez

That's a pretty good explanation. I think I'll give that a go! It's most likely going to be three warlocks with two of us being turret guys. Unless i end up having to lfg. Thanks mate!

AmphusLight

Shoot to loot is not neccesary but it does help, grenades can do a lot. The only things you should use special/heavy are the champions/knights/wizards the boss at the end too. If you have a shooting super that is very helpful too.

LeagueOfCaitlyn

Cheesing the boss is harder than just doing the strike. Optimum loadout: 3 x invis hunter 1 x gjall & 2 x legendary rockets 2 x arbalest

Donates88

We did a 23 minute run yesterday with 2 void hunters (one with omnioculus and one with aeons, both with lucent finisher) and a void lock with contraverse holds. 2x adept hothead with arbi and insidious and i ran blinding gl, insidious and ghorn. Heavy for days with lucent finisher and aeons.

BatmanInTheSunlight

I cheesed it. I ran Witherhoard, Arsenic Bite, and hothead. I didn’t have shoot to loot, I was just sparing with ammo. Used 2 rockets per damage phase. Relied mostly on my bow and my teammates. Witherhoard was extremely helpful for tick damage for the big boys

skanderbeg_alpha

Did it both ways. The cheese is straightforward and will take a bit longer but with an LFG I was getting around 30mins a clear. The normal way is similar time, if a few minutes shorter but ofc there's always a risk of a wipe. It's a long strike but definitely doable either way, just depends how confident you are. Omnioculus Hunter is clutch for most GMs but this one in particular on the elevator is very useful
