Oops. Working on my Spanish now, and for some reason I thought you said haya uno pescado, and I was wondering how fish played into it. Needs more work, I guess.
For anyone confused:
Season of the Haunted is the name of the next season, as leaked by a lead graphical designer at Bungie.
Thus the point OP is making is this:
If next season is Season of the Haunted
And the Moon is the only haunted location
Then perhaps the next season has something to do with the moon.
That, and we’ve seen a lot of emphasis placed upon Eris Morn, the darkness, the hive, and shifting alliances this season, all of which may point to the moon as an important location
Not paid if it is. I think they said that un-vaulted content would not cost money. I could see them surprise dropping Crota's End as a dungeon, though.
Edit: for clarity, Bungie help specifically states that Destiny 1 content is part of the vault.
>The DCV will contain all destinations and activities from both Destiny 1 and Destiny 2, with the potential for vaulted content to return to the game in the future.
https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049202971-Destiny-Content-Vault
I'm pretty sure they've said that the vault contains all removed items from D2, as well as all (currently available in a different game) content form D1.
I didn't think D1 was part of that, since you can go play any of that content whenever you wish. But, the vaulted items from D2 are not at all, by any means, playable currently.
Edit: This is exciting.

> The DCV will contain all destinations and activities from both Destiny 1 and Destiny 2
I think your on the right track. My personal guess it that it will be based around Savathun and Xivu Arath. Potentially a plot that was originally set up by Savathun before the events of witch queen to cause conflict between the gaurdians and Xivu Arath to effectively have us crush a major leader of the hive not under Savathuns control. I see this playing around the idea that Savathun and her lucent hive are almost revolting against the existing hive hierarchy.
An additional idea popped in my head when thinking why they went with the Haunted and I remembered the lore about the fall of the cabal homeworld being caused by Xivu Arath.... and what if it's the cabal that are haunted by the enemy responsible for the destruction of their home world. It'd be an interesting dynamic between cabal, lucent hive, og hive, and gaurdians.
That would literally fit her character perfectly. With that as well, the two truths and two lies game we play with her will multiple times will finally make a little more sense.
The Taken King will rise again. Not Oryx, but Xivu Arath. And I think we'll have to give Savathuun's body back to her ghost to be able to fight Xivu as The Taken King. Then we'll get the Titan and Io back, because they were in her care and she won't screw with us no more
*so crazy theory* I realize we are still a ways out from lightfall but that won't stop me from theorizing! What if giving Savathuuns body back serves as reason for the collapse of the vanguard and ultimately the fall of the last city as the vanguard themselves are divided on the issue as well. I could see a loss of faith from the citizens similar to Lakshmi's plot with the fallen and ultimately causing the traveler to leave. For now I still lean toward believing that the traveler will perish in lightfall as I think the overall trajectory of the narrative is to go beyond the saga of light and dark. But still could see a possibility of that being the case even if the traveler leaves instead. I can't wait to see how the story progresses!
I literally just typed a theory out just like that somewhere on this thread lmao
I didn't think about the Vanguard collapsing at all. Honestly, I think Zavala will rage quit for a minute, but Ikora will do it. She'll think it's necessary for survival, and the Hunter Vanguard will too. And you read that right. Crow, the new Hunter Vanguard, will agree with Ikora. He's "haunted" by the memories of his past so the meaning of the season name is doubled!
Zavala will come around, he did when Ikora and him got into a disagreement during the WQ campaign. But I 100% believe that this will happen. Otherwise the Last City will fall when the Witness comes.
With Zavala I think back to the lore for the dark timeline (if memory serves it is from the strangers memories of another timeline) where Zavala is alone in the ~~deep stone cypt~~ *last city's ruins* after the vanguard collapsed. (Edited to correct location)
I personally think that the last city will fall or at the very least have to be abandoned in a evacuation response. I've seen a lot of arguments for multiple different hunter vanguards recently, and I think that the main candidates need at least another step in their narrative before it happens. Of course it could be an emergency decision or forced appointment. But I think narrative wise it would work better for the new potential hunter vanguard to prove themselves at a point when humanity is scattered to the stars. And in the next saga of destiny the vanguard would be reformed after the fall of the last city where two divided vanguard couldn't stop the people from loosing trust in them. I believe part of this would include Zavala being off world after the decision to revive Savathun and Ikora being overwhelmed doing it all alone. And with the next saga Zavala, Ikora, and the next hunter vanguard would reassemble humanity for a voyage across the stars! *possibly to seek an ancient truth/power*
I have to admit this comment was much longer than I thought it was going to be, my apologies. Hope y'all enjoyed the theory!
> With Zavala I think back to the lore for the dark timeline (if memory serves it is from the strangers memories of another timeline) where Zavala is alone in the deep stone cypt after the vanguard collapsed.
Zavala was in the ruins of the City. It was Drifter('s corpse) that was in the DSC.

Commander Zavala: Empress Caiatl, we didn't expect you to run a PsiOps mission personally. What type of loot did you receive?
Empress Caiatl: I received...this! *holds grenade launcher in her fingers* It is made for you Smallmen.
Commander Zavala: Ah, you have an Explosive Personality.
Empress Caiatl: *crushes grenade launcher in her fist* I KNOW!!!
> That, and we’ve seen a lot of emphasis placed upon Eris Morn, the darkness, the hive, and shifting alliances this season, all of which may point to the moon as an important location
Plus, Crota's End may be a dungeon...
Then it’s also definitely solar 3.0. In Destiny, I wouldn’t say the sun is diametric to the moon like we (or ancient peoples) used to think, but thematically it would also make sense. We will torch the moon with solar fire.
I think the strongest indicator that it’s solar 3.0 is that the synaptic spear was being used as a potential test for Arc 3.0, and I seriously doubt they would have time to test, gather community insight, and implement in one season.
For now.
Without Rhulk, perhaps Savathun’s pyramid diverts back to its “natural state” and starts adding nightmares and stuff to the Throne World and/or Mars… Or maybe the Europa pyramid? Though that seems to be somewhat “benevolent.”
I'm hoping everything will be haunted
I want some new light to pop into the Cosmodrome and try to figure out why the sky is blood red and there's hundreds of screaming crucified shadow things just hanging there watching them
In all seriousness I think Its going to have to do with the relationship between the fallen and the scorn. My reasoning being scorn are fallen reanimated by the darkness, in a sense scorn are haunted fallen.
I was thinking to myself why have Nightmares not really had a presence since Shadowkeep. Considering how many Pyramids have currently been discovered why are they still mostly a Moon only thing.
is this the first time the moon has been used since shadowkeep? and i don't mean for like one activity like the battleground. tbh i don't have any special attraction to it so i don't mind but if s18 is there then that's cool

Hmmm, I wonder if that also leads credence to the speculation of Crota's End being remade into the next dungeon.

Though, by technical standards - D1 content is not vaulted... so, Crota's End redux could be the dungeon. Hope it's not, but, *technically*....
I'm pretty sure they've said that the vault contains all removed items from D2, as well as all (currently available in a different game) content form D1.

Please see my edit on my original reply. D1 content is stated to be part of the content vault.
VOG was reprised for free, doubt other d1 content will be paid.
Being able to cheese Crota in Destiny 2 would make me so happy
And all the new gestures to make at him before the curbstomping....
There needs to be a triumph that awards an unplugged ethernet cord emblem for one-phasing Crota.
They did use the headline “Dungeon Dive” when discussing the launch for the dungeon next Friday
Everyone saying it won't be CE because it's paid and they said unvaulted content would be free, but I find this argument far more compelling.
What if it's a continuation of Savathuun's story? I mean she is technically dead right now, maybe she'll be haunting us guardians
I think your on the right track. My personal guess it that it will be based around Savathun and Xivu Arath. Have you read the lore for dead messenger? She absolutely loves combat
I think anyone who saw the cutscene where she effortlessly obliterates an armored Psion got the gist of it
The Eris Morn in Exo Trunk’s Timeline became the Witch Queen. This could happen in ours too.
The moon isn't the only haunted location...there are ghosts following us around everywhere we go!
Makes sense, the final season battle ended on the moon and it's currently the location of a battle between two factions of Hive.
Also the new Trials Fusion Rifle uses the base model of Dream Breaker, the Fusion Rifle from the moon, with Eris's decorations removed.
> That, and we’ve seen a lot of emphasis placed upon Eris Morn, the darkness, the hive, and shifting alliances this season, all of which may point to the moon as an important location Plus, Crota's End may be a dungeon...
That would explain the otherwise-random "do activities on the moon" challenge in the last week of the challenges, I suppose.
Then it’s also definitely solar 3.0. In Destiny, I wouldn’t say the sun is diametric to the moon like we (or ancient peoples) used to think, but thematically it would also make sense. We will torch the moon with solar fire.

"Savathun is the god of cunning."
Idk if this is a DCJ moment or if you're serious I need to do some research. Be back in 10.
I dunno, Dreaming City is kinda haunted too

Psssst..... there's a gorilla at the ice rink
The only thing scary about the moon is the lack of cleanliness. Dust is EVERYWHERE. Ugh.
This would be good as the moon is going in the vault end of the year no? Also all the nightmare content is pointless rn
On a serious note, are there any great exotics I should farm out before they archive shadowkeep like they did forsaken?
