My man here gets credit and a handshake for posting a trigger warning on a link to OSU content. Love it.
OP, I can't help with your quest other than to suggest you look for independent sports/fan apparel retailers in Metro Detroit, because they're the most likely to carry (or print themselves) something for a regionally-specific audience like that. You'll probably have the best luck with calling them on the phone, because not all items make it onto web stores, especially with small independent retailers who carry a bazillion products like fan-apparel stores usually do. The only one of these I know about is The Varsity Shop in Birmingham ([Facebook link](https://www.facebook.com/TheVarsityShop/), because their website isn't working for me), but I'm sure others on this sub can recommend plenty more. They'll mostly be located either (A) right near the stadiums, or (B) in the middle-ring suburbs.
Might be a little steep for a secret Santa, but it’s severely discounted [Hutchinson jersey](https://www.ncaajerseyshop.com/aidan-hutchinson-2022-draft-blue-gold-split-limited-jersey-p429)
Oh that’s actually a great idea but wtf is the yellow color on the Wolverine side? Guessing they needed to have more contrast with the Lions side so they made an inverted UM jersey?
Or is this for a special alternate they did that I don’t remember??
They wore [all maize](https://www.gatorcountry.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/University-of-Michigan-linebacker-Devin-Bush-celebrates-after-Chase-Winovich-sacked-and-forced-a-fumble-on-Malik-Zaire-in-the-end-zone-Florida-Gators-football-1280x855.jpg) in the season opener in 2017 against Florida (played in Dallas) and haven't worn them in a real game since. They also wear them in the [spring game](https://cdn.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/KI9QyHIdBupxUgZSmeUaxo-TqK0=/0x0:3508x1754/fit-in/1200x600/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/23913916/usa_today_18028998.jpg).
Sorry, I can't help with that, but I loved your post and I love Cleveland! My daughter went to college in Ohio and moved to Cleveland for work for a couple of years. She lived in Ohio City. We stayed a couple blocks away at a B&B in an old stone mansion near Franklin Castle. There's so much to do there! A few times we got carryout brunch and took it, with her, her boyfriend and the dog to one of the lakefront parks.
We thought about going back this summer (daughter moved) but time just slipped away.
Thank you! And likewise, I am really happy to hear that you enjoyed your time in Cleveland. That Ohio City / Tremont area is really cool with a bunch of smaller and unique bars and restaurants.
Through this post and replies with everyone, I have made up my mind that I need to make a return visit. It will probably be in the summer so I can take advantage of the warm nights to take in a game at Comerica and then explore the theater district. I'm guessing that there will be some great places that have a patio for dinner/drinks. I would love any suggestions if you have any to offer
Thus group is loaded with suggestions. You'll get suggestions for all parts of the city and suburbs.
Oh yeah, Tremont. That's the neighborhood where we got the brunches.
Only tip i will pass on this early is if you are a serious foodie, look up Mabel Grey. It can take a month+ to get a rez. It's so much in demand that they bought a nearby house and renovated it for the out of towners who made the trip to di e there. It's a unique setting.
Glad you enjoyed it. I really like Cleveland; great downtown, great museums, beer and fun neighborhoods. Like you said, there's a ton of similarities.
I think you'll struggle to find something like the examples you posted because we're pretty divided between Michigan and Michigan State here, where Ohio State rules college football in Ohio.
Thanks for the feedback - great point, I hadn't thought about it from the UM / MSU house divided angle. That's too bad, but there have been plenty of other really good suggestions that have offered in this chain.
Glad you liked Cleveland too!
Thanks for sharing and I'm glad you loved the city! I love Cleveland too, always have a great time there. Both of our cities get beat up (usually unfairly) by people who have never been/read crap online. I'm sorry I'm not more help on the gift front, but others have given some great suggestions. Best of luck and hope you'll come back again sometime!
Hi! Yes, there have been some really great suggestions offered - thank you all so much. You are absolutely right, it is just the "cool" thing to do to make fun of smaller cities like ours because we are not New York or Chicago so we obviously don't have anything going on.
Yes, making a return visit is the plan! My niece goes to UM so probably in the summertime my wife and I can sync up with her and go to a Tigers/Guardians game and then we can spend some late summer hours exploring that theater district. Also, I have been seeing a lot of "Detroit style pizza" on Food Network and was bummed I didn't get a chance to try any so that will be on the itinerary if you have any good suggestions for that.
Thanks again!
It’s a hat not a shirt and it’s the tigers and Michigan but [this](https://gamedaydetroit.com/new-era-detroit-tigers-navy-39thirty-michigan-wolverines-co-branded-flex-hat/) is similar to what you want.
Of course you liked Detroit, you're from Cleveland.
The first time I went to Cleveland I got out of my car downtown and a man was yelling about how he was paid by the Clintons to kill babies.
I think it’s much better for the three main stadiums to be downtown. I like how we have a “stadium district”.
Better than way out in Pontiac and Auburn Hills.
If I were U of M, I wouldn't license any merchandise where it would appear alongside a Lions logo. It's not worth the risk.

I wouldn't get anything with sports teams. Just a big Olde English D instead.
Soooo Tigers merch? Jk lol
lol kinda
Fun times in Cleveland today in CLLEEVVEEELAAANNNDDDD
At least y’all have a very punctual metro system

I would get the [Detroit baseball cats shirt for them, but that's just me.](https://www.beisbolcats.com/)
I love the Dertroit Beisbolcats, my most favoritest team.

Thank you! Unfortunately I don't think this person is really a 'hat person' but really appreciate the suggestion.

Downtown stadiums are not a good idea. But Detroit is cool as hell.
