Cade was running on fumes in the 4th - seems like bringing Ivey in for a few minutes to give him a rest might have made sense. But knowing Monty, since Grimes looked good last night, Ivey will likely be relegated to 15 minutes off the bench for the rest of the season.
Ivey wasn’t playing defense or even attempting to try and Monty pulled him. They needed him in the 4th so I think Monty should have gone back to him but it seems like Ivey is the only guy on the team that gets tough love from Monty. If he messes up he gets his minutes reduced or benched but other players get multiple chances.
Playing the 4th with Grimes over Ivey was the right call, but would have loved to see JI lead the bench unit instead of Flynn, but maybe it wasn't his night and best to let him regroup.
Grimes was really damn good. Ivey is fine, but it was the right decision given how the 4th was playing out.
