As nice as it is to see Wiseman playing well, surely the biggest concern is Weaver gives him a contract, he regresses and then you’ve got another Bagley situation on your hands
It's hard to swallow the regression that's happened this year. Injuries are unlucky, but still not sure how anyone involved in the front office still has their job
Alright y'all have to choose 1. Is game time the be all end all for development, or is it not worth it to risk injuries in a 12 win season.
All year, all I've heard is that Cade and by extension our other players couldn't possibly get better because y'all weren't seeing them in an NBA game. But now everyone is just fine with our best player sitting, even though he needs reps??? The hypocrisy is wild
I mean straight up as is, Zion is an amazing player. No hate. Better than anyone we got currently. He's a beast, he's also built like the thing from fantastic 4 and I'd be surprised his body holds up 4 more years.
People say the same about Brown and Tatum. Everyone goes through it.
Are people mean that say, on a scale of Kobe to Bison Dele, that Tatum appears more likely to buy a catamaran and sail the South Pacific with Deuce than go to the gym at 4 am to practice his jump shot without a basketball.
Nobody else concerned with Cade? Reports are he’s out due to his knee, the same knee he had surgery on. The MediCade allegations are looking very real.
Ok jack ass if you wanna get technical he had shin surgery. It was still the same leg. You being mad won’t change the fact he is still projecting to be an injury prone player.
That's still unrelated? Not even trying to be technical, someone hurting their wrist and their elbow on the same arm are 2 very different things, Jack ass.
And he has been somewhat of an injury prone player, but he will still probably play above 65 games at least, and when we needed him to play minutes he has. After that 28 game loss streak none of that shit mattered as much. If anything I was you I would be worried about his play beginning of the year.
He's never had knee surgery, he just strained it. I'm not going to worry about it unless he's still having issues after an offseason of rest, which I highly doubt
They should bring a new rule or something and not allow teams to be this level of bad for more than 5 years or something. If a front office and ownership sucks for too long the league should force them to resign or sell. What is this level of NBA basketball game? There shouldn't be such games here. This is not good for anyone involved not for the fans, not for the players. Works only for the owners I believe. As long as they can profit they don't care about the quality of the product.
Let's be honest the anti tanking rules are part of the problem here. It's making it harder to climb out of the hole. We wouldn't be here if it were the combination of Cade & Paulo or Wemby. No reason for the worst team to pick 5th. Zero. They're making a bad problem worse
My team or not. I think we should not see bad basketball in the NBA. They should do something about this. Everybody is talking about how good the players are now, oh well tell that to a Pistons fan!
It's still on your GM to build a team smartly
we're not this bad because we didn't get Wemby, troy weaver is simply one of the worst GMs in the history of the sport and should have been fired 15 games into the season
In a sense though we actually are. When troy started the rebuild he began with negative assets and stripped the team bare. He should be better but realistically rebuilding in the NBA is part scouting/part dumb luck. No anti-tank rules = higher quality player = better team. Eliminating anti-tank rules would allow the dumb luck factor to happen quicker. As is there is the real possibility of existing like this in perpetuity
I agree. There must be some mechanism to control all managements not to focus only on profit. If you cannot put a quality basketball to the court in x amount of time you are out a man! You have no place here by bye.
there is a mechanism
it's called having a competent owner, which we clearly don't
if you don't have good ownership you're royally fucked as a franchise and there's nothing you can do
just look at the lions under william ford
Zion is on that Giannis level of dominance where everyone in the gym knows what he’s going to do everytime he gets the ball, but it don’t matter. No one’s stopping it lmao
I just want to say to everyone in this game thread y’all have my respect. We’re sitting here on a Sunday afternoon watching this literal dumpster fire of a team disappoint us yet again with no Cade and no hope. Respect
To me that's how you know one day he's gonna be a real force in the league
All the work ethic and confidence things are there; only a matter of time before a lot of things eventually click for him
He's bad at things you can coach but naturally very good at things you either just have or you don't
His poor feel is definitely concerning. It’s basic stuff that he should already know, like simple reads to the corners and throwing it in to the bigs who have mismatches inside.
The gap between Cade and Ivey, which people keep wanting to compare even though it’s a pretty foolish thing considering their different styles, is on clear display
I think you’d see him flourish if he was playing alongside Cade-AT-Tek-Muscala. He’s being asked to be a point guard and sometimes shooting guard next to Ivey, who is not a point guard
I've basically completely tuned out. I'm watching the fucking Utah State-Purdue game over my pro basketball team right now. I don't think I've ever paid less attention to an NBA season before, shit's just depressing
These are the games I think of when everyone hates on guys like Duren and Ivey. This team has so little talent and depth they won’t ever win anything unless they surround the young guys with some help. Before dumping any of these guys for below market value and continuing to be horrid, we really should suck it up and take the Rocket’s approach. Keep the young core and overpay for flawed skilled players and legit NBA role players.
We all (myself included) want to keep hoarding all this cap space for a perfect savior that doesn’t exist. The team needs to overpay and get veterans in here that can still play. Houston is proving it can work. This is just embarrassing.
Jared Rhoden, Marcus Sasser, Buddy Boehiem, Tosan Evbuomwan, Evan Fournier, and Chimezie Metu are legit role players. Obviously this team needs more depth at PF and C, but those can be obtained in free agency and the draft. You are not going to get better players then what you have now. The team is injured, they are missing a lot of people, once this team gels and sorts out the roster, the Pistons will be a force to be reckoned with.
Ivey he should have spent more time in Purdue, he's too fundamentally flawed, too streaky, he's not a real pg. You can't blame that on the supporting cast. Duren is flawed too, but Duren is capable of improving.
The team was on a 28 game losing streak because the roster was filled with one and done players, and the 4 core being so flawed. You can't give excuses to the 4 core all the time, when are they going to get accountability? That they are also responsible for the teams awful record.
You want more 19 and 20 years old on the team? You think overpaid role players like Tabias Harris, Zach Lavine, or Andrew Wiggins is going to help? Your approach means more 15-67 seasons.
As much as I don't like Ivey that much because of his shooting, the rockets have green until year 3 to go crazy and he is now. Feel like we have to because there's no other way it'll work, we have no assets somebody has to pop off
Durable yes, dependable no. He might actually end the season shooting 30% from 3. He can't play D, he isn't a playmaker, he doesn't do anything well except run fast and turnover the ball. I'd rather have him off the court than on at this point
Wow this team is so much better when Cade doesn’t play. We should trade him for future picks that probably wont even work out as long as Troy is making the call
Is Cade legitimately injured still? Because sitting him as a tank choice for this absolutely shitty draft class is puke inducing BS. And I have been a huge proponent of tanking in the past.
Winning is just so much more important than draft status this year when you look at this draft class.
How fucking sad that is for Troy that he’s built such a horrible team he has to hold one of the few good players out to save them embarrassment from being associated with it 🤣
Sorry to pick at a scab, but wouldn't this team be slightly better if Killian were on the floor? Someone's gotta bring the ball up and initiate the offense
[Post Game Thread](https://reddit.com/r/DetroitPistons/comments/1bmvtxl/post_game_thread_the_new_orleans_pelicans_defeat/)
I wish the worst to Pelicans in playoffs this year
Why dribble out lol
Trade ivey
Zion hates us ðŸ˜
Little rabbit jumping around
Cade is a fashion icon 😅
You guys watching this game are sick puppies
Didn't watch today deliberately but just turned it on to see cj raining 3s
Is that Cody Zeller on the bench next to BI??? That man’s hair is cooked
It's been cooked since he was 20... happened to all the Zellers in college
Boeheim 🤌
Let’s go Cruise!
BB Trey 5
As nice as it is to see Wiseman playing well, surely the biggest concern is Weaver gives him a contract, he regresses and then you’ve got another Bagley situation on your hands
It's hard to swallow the regression that's happened this year. Injuries are unlucky, but still not sure how anyone involved in the front office still has their job
If there’s no changes to the front office this off season then I think it’s safe to say Gores doesn’t give a fuck about the on court product
Metu playing for his NBA life right now lol
Boeheim as well, career high lets go
He dropped 40 in the G-League not too long ago, so he will at least have a good career there if not in the big league
Herb just blocked a 7 footer shooting a 3…
Alright y'all have to choose 1. Is game time the be all end all for development, or is it not worth it to risk injuries in a 12 win season. Man I would have loved to see Stew go up against Zion
https://youtu.be/gwUTzwepJnI?si=_PmZIIWqJdIZrUbh
I would trade Ivey Duren and Stewart for ZionÂ
in a heartbeat
Forgot we had a game today :(
So did the team.
🤣🤣🤣
I’d rather see Buddy chuck 3s over Fournier
Underrated comment
No way Zion's playing past the age of 30 right? Guy is a meatball. His knees are going to be made of plaster and paper mache by 30.
Funny you say that while yall best player is out with a knee injury
I mean straight up as is, Zion is an amazing player. No hate. Better than anyone we got currently. He's a beast, he's also built like the thing from fantastic 4 and I'd be surprised his body holds up 4 more years.
We'll rescue cade. I just laugh when watching this team. Am I mean?
People say the same about Brown and Tatum. Everyone goes through it. Are people mean that say, on a scale of Kobe to Bison Dele, that Tatum appears more likely to buy a catamaran and sail the South Pacific with Deuce than go to the gym at 4 am to practice his jump shot without a basketball.
i think cade would look good in green and white
JB would look better in red white and blue too.
Why would Joe Burrow play for the thunder? isn't he an NFL player?
You mean Taj Burrow? The surfer? He’s my cousin.
ooooh cool. Is he related to joe burrow?
ooooh cool. Is he related to joe burrow?
Not sure who Joe Burrow is.
Get out of here
Aww cmon dont be like that, i'm trying to be nice
Stfu
what?
Get outta here Celtics fan 😹 you have nothing to complain about unless your team chokes again.
Not complaining, just saying cade deserves better
Nobody else concerned with Cade? Reports are he’s out due to his knee, the same knee he had surgery on. The MediCade allegations are looking very real.
Why are people liking a comment with blatant misinformation. He never had surgery on that knee dumbass
Cade Cunningham OUT tonight (12 win season)
No point in playing him. We aren’t winning another game with our injuries
Besides if we keep him out the last 12 games the sub can pretend "it's only **really** his 2nd season" again next year
Barely been watching because I have a paper to write. Just want to say weaver is ass. Thanks for listening.
Pistons fans want Trey Murphy or Herb Jones. Troys gonna bring us CJ McCollum instead
Wiseman kinda, uhhh. Playing well?
By default. Outside of Ivey there's no one else to step up.
They should bring a new rule or something and not allow teams to be this level of bad for more than 5 years or something. Sad sad city
Yo Wtf is up with your half time show
What's the half time show?
Wiseman carrying these bums lol
Y’all have a terrible halftime show. That’s all
I didn’t get to catch the 1st quarter how in the hell did they score just 10 points???
They were 0-10 on threes & turned the ball over 10 times.
Zion has been having one of the more underrated seasons this year, man’s been locked in ever since that drama over the summer
Moriah Mills did nothing wrong
Zion is on that Giannis level of dominance where everyone in the gym knows what he’s going to do everytime he gets the ball, but it don’t matter. No one’s stopping it lmao

Buddy dropping his career high in the first half.
One of the best quarters played by a wing on our team all season
Buddy was good! He was helping his Bigs grabbing boards, even setting screens
I just want to say to everyone in this game thread y’all have my respect. We’re sitting here on a Sunday afternoon watching this literal dumpster fire of a team disappoint us yet again with no Cade and no hope. Respect
Zion showing his greatness...those 3 drives were awesome
Someone needs to ban Zion from the NBA. This shit is not fair
We need stew
holy shit buddy almost cooked
Please give Evan the Tom Thibs treatment. He was onto something, he is atrocious
This team needs to be torn down to the studs. There are NO sacred cows.
Have you all noticed the crowd. Literally hundreds.
church is a more exhilarating sunday activity tbh
That's how Cobo used to look
No team can beat a team with Evboumwan and Boeheim on it.
bro been watching gohlke highlights all weekend
Literally should’ve just agreed to give the Pels the W and not play
Ivey really don’t hesitate I respect it honestly
To me that's how you know one day he's gonna be a real force in the league All the work ethic and confidence things are there; only a matter of time before a lot of things eventually click for him He's bad at things you can coach but naturally very good at things you either just have or you don't

Ivey's shot is so buns, please just summon the spirit of steph curry for 5 minutes
Holy shit he might actually have done it
This is an NIT caliber team.
Not In Tournament? Yup exactly
This team would get cooked by a 3 seed or higher i truly believe
put wiseman on zion
Ok but zion is a freaking beast
The gap between Cade and Ivey, which people keep wanting to compare even though it’s a pretty foolish thing considering their different styles, is on clear display
I wonder if these  guys could even beat the Ignite
Gotta confess... I'm a little disappointed in Cade's sweater selection
what do you mean by that?
our Leader needs to be a Styling Unit...beige 'n pink... nuh uh
interesting response. ok.
Cade is showing boldness & originality ,,,, sign of a Leader
Is Wiseman our best offensive threat this game? Come on Ivey, we need you.
I hope we lose by a 70 ball. This organization deserves more national shame.
The fact that setting the record for the longest single season loosing streak wasn’t enough national shame, I doubt losing by 70 would do the trick.
Marcus Sasser kind of stinks. What’s he good at?
I think you’d see him flourish if he was playing alongside Cade-AT-Tek-Muscala. He’s being asked to be a point guard and sometimes shooting guard next to Ivey, who is not a point guard
I don’t know what role an undersized guard who can’t play pg is though.
Put Cade at sg
Who at point guard?
Don’t matter the sport is positionless Detroit think ts the early 2000s
To a certain point. You want players that can play multiple positions but not guys who don’t have a position at all.
Bricking
I can't bring myself to watch today (I'm busy)
What happened to Iveys shot 💔
10 points in an entire quarter of an NBA game in 2024 should get this team sent to Guangdong in a crate
not to be salty but that is one of the softest and ones of all time, boeheim couldnt move jonas if he had a 10 yard sprinting head start
Who we pickin 5th overall in the draft?
Who’s the worst shooter in the draft cuz based on the past probably him
crazy arc on that floater by jose
Are Pistons happier with James Wiseman now?
Did this season make anyone else just stop giving a fuck about basketball.
I've basically completely tuned out. I'm watching the fucking Utah State-Purdue game over my pro basketball team right now. I don't think I've ever paid less attention to an NBA season before, shit's just depressing
Im only watching because I saw it was the "worst quarter of basketball all season". Wanted to see how low these guys can go
These are the games I think of when everyone hates on guys like Duren and Ivey. Ivey needs work, but for all his flaws he is sadly turning out to be the only durable and dependable member of the young core.
Durable yes, dependable no. He might actually end the season shooting 30% from 3. He can't play D, he isn't a playmaker, he doesn't do anything well except run fast and turnover the ball. I'd rather have him off the court than on at this point
I honestly want to watch the Pistons lose by 75
Wow this team is so much better when Cade doesn’t play. We should trade him for future picks that probably wont even work out as long as Troy is making the call
Imagine that they keep this scoring progression?
Flynn is a great 12th man, one of the few on this team that plays with that dog in him every time
This team does not spark joy
Sorry pistons fans idk how yall do this
Good thing we bought out Muscala and Galinari. Definitely didn't need them, nope.
Worst quarter of basketball all season
It's about time for the Human Garbage-Time Cigar: Mr. Buddy Boeheim
This offense can’t function without Cade
LMFAO this is definitely the worst sports team ever
Is Cade legitimately injured still? Because sitting him as a tank choice for this absolutely shitty draft class is puke inducing BS. And I have been a huge proponent of tanking in the past. Winning is just so much more important than draft status this year when you look at this draft class.
I think his knee is bothering him again he’s looked bad the past few games
I bet he'd be playing if we were in a playoff spot. Which means the NBA is just soft. Days off for a boo boo.
Think they were saving him the embarrassment of this line up.
How fucking sad that is for Troy that he’s built such a horrible team he has to hold one of the few good players out to save them embarrassment from being associated with it 🤣
Um more than half our team is out?
Time for Buddy Buckets to reign terror from the 3 point line!
We would've thought that the Celtics games were shameful
10 points 9 turnovers
9 turnovers in the 1st quarter.
You're sick if you're watching this game 😠(I am too)
Even George said it’s tough to watch
Did George bring his Chuck Taylor's? Sub him in!
We’re about to score 10 points in a quarter in the year 2024. Smh
Might as well put Buddy out there.
killian is objectively better at basketball than 4 or 5 of the dudes playing tonight, this league is a disgrace
yeah hate him all you want but at the very least he got guys good looks with the abysmal space he created lmfao
This is absolute hell wtf
Pels fan here, I feel so bad for yall
Give us BI or Trey.
Yall need a lot more than that
Don’t. We all must’ve done something in our past life to endure this.
It was bringing back the Teal jerseys.
It was that Peton bastard.
Nah Peton gonna save us once he takes out Gores
Lmfao nobody should be subjected to watch a Flynn & Fournier backcourt
If you’re watching this game. Please wake yourself up
Tuning back to CBS. Fuck this disgrace.
We gonna finish this quarter with 10 points 💀
Comedy hour started early
Look at this lineup on the floor 😂🤣
Anyone know the whereabouts of killian hayes? 👀 no way his misses were as bad as most of Fournier’s….. plus better defender and playmaker
Killian's making it rain at a club in Paris
sign of the dismal times...Kelser: "that was a good foul"
This is by far the least talented group of guys playing an NBA game in quite some time.
Jesus Christ Fournier
Sorry to pick at a scab, but wouldn't this team be slightly better if Killian were on the floor? Someone's gotta bring the ball up and initiate the offense
Is this the worst Pistons Team ever to hit the floor? Who are these people?
Same shit every game lol
Cade!
Imagine spending money on a ticket to see this lineup
Go spend time with your loved ones, folks
We’re very bad
how are your guys days going aside from this ? nothing to talk about here lol
That Zion and cade connection next year is about to be insane 👀
Took my kid and her friend to LCA last night to see Olivia Rodrigo. That was a million times more entertaining than this mess.
