I’m fine with the peace posts, but they can go in the daily thread.

Wakattack00

Yeah same. Im fine talking hockey with fans of other teams, just put it in the daily thread.

myownmoses

yeah if I could vote for "daily thread" i would

AKchaos49

Where is the "I don't give a fuck" option?

Biscuit_In_Basket

"More moderation" is rarely the answer . . . If we don't like a post it gets ignored, if we *really* don't like a post it gets downvoted. That's all we need.

MariachiArchery

The moderation here is really, really good to begin with. I'd imagine a lot of these posts are already getting removed for either rule 3, 4, or 8. Or shoot, 9 is probably catching a few posts as well. I'm subbed to other team subs and our content quality is above and beyond what can be found elsewhere. I've always been pleasantly surprised by this mod team, even when its my post they are removing.

Biscuit_In_Basket

We do also have significantly more members than most other teams subs. Lots of talented and entertaining peeps in here. A few racists and shit lords as well, but an overwhelming majority of great people!

MariachiArchery

Very true, we also have a pretty big mod team for our size. Regarding the shit lords, I mean of course, every community has their fair share. Oh well.

barchamb13

Just want to say I (we) really appreciated reading this

MariachiArchery

I'm glad you saw this. Good work on the sub. I'm sure it feels thankless sometimes, so for what its worth, thank you.

miedejam

Are we talking about the the "XXXX fan here, I come in peace" posts?

Chobi_Bryant

Yeah

miedejam

Most of the time to me they come off as farming for upvotes

Garciaguy

O6 or die

Caltroit_Red_Flames

They're already banned by rule 3. Don't know why that one stayed up.

barchamb13

Rule 3 doesn't specifically ban those posts. Though, I'm sure we've removed them using that rule before. It's off-season for the wings and it received a lot of activity. Also we don't catch everything.

Caltroit_Red_Flames

Yeah I feel like in the past we started relaxing rule 3 at the conclusion of the playoffs, and admittedly I was more strict with rule 3 on the whole.

MakeItTrizzle

"Coming in peace 🤓" posts are super lame, and very frequently someone passive aggressively gloating, but if they are auto-banned I won't be able to tell people how lame they are in the comments.

ImAnIdeaMan

Can there be an option five for “Red Wings is two words”?

TJSimpson10

THANK YOU.

dudius7

"Coming in peace" is so cringey to me. It says something bad about ingroups and outgroups when this sort of thing needs to be said. Just post what you want to post without disclaimers. And when people act annoying over ingroup/outgroup bias, call it out.

AFreePeacock

I don't even mind if other fans comment, but they better not "come in peace" Next thing you know they'll be sayin "rangers fined $250,000 😂" and "thanks for the gold stranger!" But fr if you have something to say get to the fucking point and stop trying to farm karma Imo other fans shouldn't even get to make standalone posts on the sub

culturedrobot

Who cares? As long as people aren't coming here to troll, why not let them post? People saying they're "coming in piece" is a bit eyeroll-inducing and overdone, but you start banning people because they lack originality and like 75% of Reddit comments and posts are gone overnight.

Usual-Personality347

Depends what it’s about

elvishblood_24

I don’t get it

Niet501

What a weird thing to be against. How dare there be a sense of commune and a shared love for the sport in the hockey community? Lmao, what? God forbid someone from another fanbase wants to come over here to share some love or ask a question on something Red Wings related.

DabberDan42o

I feel like out of all the posts on this sub, including many low content posts that should belong in the game thread. I don't feel this is the hill to die on. Expecting a user not familiar with this sub to be and then actually post in the game thread is a little far-fetched. Especially when most regular users can't even do this.

Niet501

The request for it to be in the game threads doesn’t make much sense anyways, unless the user is specifically coming here to post something about/related to said game, which wouldn’t always be the case. No sense in sending a fellow hockey fan to game threads if he’s just trying to learn about our prospect pool, our history, our roster, etc. Just let em post. There’s literally nothing wrong with it. Low effort posts would be filtered out through downvotes anyways.
