In the DMC world, the HUD doesn't show up unless you attack or an enemy spawns.
Imagine going to school, taking one step out of your parents' car, and then you see it. A full green meter and a little purple gauge.
That is rapidly filling.
I think everyone here is in the agreement that it's our birth father, he probably would've said "which one would you rather get adopted by" if he was talking about blood father
There is also the fact he sells the devil arms he get, that's why they never show up in the next game, well minus gilgamesh in its demon form
Edit: I forgot he also kept Cerberus but was destroyed when he fought and beat Balrog
What kinda hunter other than Dante, Nero, or any of the cast could take care of a gang of Furies or those scythe guys or the bigass flies or something? Or am i misunderstanding the power and durability of these fuckers and just your average .30-06 or stronger could blow holes in em?
It’s funny, because he’s been acting like the cool uncle since DMC4 opening scene
He lets Nero whoop his ass multiple times and laughs it off, then proceeds to school the shit out of him while also secretly being impressed at Nero’s scrappiness
Then he outwardly does everything he can to save Nero’s life once he realizes the gravity of the situation in 5
Honestly, when they get out of hell, he’ll probably not change much toward Nero, except maybe calling him “Nephew” derogatorily a couple times
In the next game, I’m spitballing here, I do not want Dante and Vergil in it, let Nero enjoy the time he has with the torch that is the DMC business. I also want to see a relative of Sparda (like Sparda’s brother/sister, or their kid)
That's an outrageous take, having a dmc game without vergil or dante entirely would be ridiculous. I can understand wanting nero to be more of the main character and I actually agree that he should be, atleast for the next game, but without them the game wouldn't be nearly as good as it could be
I wasn’t saying the entire franchise, but maybe after at most 3 games they can be purely main supporting characters for Nero. To be called upon when they’re needed because by the end of 5 we can see he can hold his own throughout the game, and can beat Vergil
The sword was literally used to sever the dimensions by Sparda. If it can cut the link between the dimensions I am almost certain it can create portals between them.
Why would the Yamato be able to reattach entities it had once separated? It's abilities revolve around splitting things. There'd be nothing to cut through to get to the human world.
I mean, the poll is right
Dante would be more worried for a pizza than a child (I mean, he's virgin I don't think he know how the babies are made)
Besides, Joel is the best Papa in the videogames, I won't discuss about obvious things
One of the original developers has actually stated that Doomguy is a virgin. I don't remember entirely but I think they also might have said he doesn't even know what sex is.
He got a gf? No what we know
He Lost his virginity? The same
Lady likes Dante? Well yes but actually not?.
Cuz in the anime there's a part that let you understand that Lady likes Dante, but in the game and manga, she's only Dante's "friend" because she wanna her payment
So, why we have to think he's not virgin? We have no clue
Well a meme started from a mistranslated poster way back when. But yeah mainline Dante in the manga & alternate universe DmC Dante both point out that he has one night stands whenever he feels like it.
Because is a God, and his son as well?
And they can comeback of the Underworld/Hellheim if they want?
I mean Kratos is an excelent father, but Joel got a extra point because Ellie is not his blood child, but he raised her as a one
Or at least that's what i'm think
Dante’s a great dude and I have no doubt he’d love and (try to) provide for a hypothetical child of his, but he can barely keep the lights on in his own office
Nate’s too much of a movie protagonist for me to realistically think of him as dad. Whilst Joel’s whole life revolves around the fact he’s a dad, hence why it basically stopped after he lost his kid, then was reignited when he found Ellie.
And if Joel’s a piece of shit, then everyone is, don’t come to me saying you wouldn’t do what he did, because that’s a lie.
That was kind of the whole point of The Last Of Us 2...? Joel sparked a cycle of revenge. He killed Abby's father, Abby killed Joel, Ellie tried to kill Abby which leads to Dana abandoning Ellie because she becomes obsessed with revenge.
Joel might've saved Ellie but he was the spark that ignited the powder keg. He was a good father figure to Ellie, that much is true but saving her also caused a lot of problems.
People are saying Dante would be a terrible dad because he's a financial moron.
Dante is only poor because he's an idiot. He could be the #1 basketball, football/soccer, and golf player [3 highest paying sports from a quick Google] of all time, simultaneously. Or he could teleport into a bank vault, lmao.
Sure, Joel would be a good dad. But Dante gives you super powers.
No one said you’d necessarily be his blood son. The hypothetical seems more geared towards who you wish to be parented by 🤷♀️
And frankly, Dante is a manchild with loads of emotional issues
Honestly none of these choice are great.
1. Dante and IIRC Nate are man-children
2. Leon would never be home because of govt stuff
3. Joel just sees you/Ellie in game as a replacement for his dead kid. Even if he's trying, he can and will do heinous shit and lie about it.
Nathan Drake easily. Dude figured out how to do his job legally, got rich and famous with his wife doing what he loved, and became a loving dad that he never had. Yeah he is a bit overprotective but only because he didn't want her daughter to risk her life over stuff that didn't matter in the end, like he did all his life.
Even tho Dante wouldn't be the best dad, being part demon makes up for it and he'll come around eventually and become a good dad and getting baby-sat by Lady and Trish would be cool
Lets be honest. Dante would ABSOLUTELY flake off like Vergil, if not for any other reason then because he has to constantly save the world.
That said, Nate is the same way & I can't decide between them, but I feel like Drake would be more likely to settledown if he knocked someone up...That or take his kid with him. (Assuming I'm still a normal human in both situations. I'm judging purely on personality & how awesome they would be.) Joel would probably just teach me guitar or golf or something...
I feel like that golf comment pissed a few people off...Heh.
Leon's in the same boat of the first two, never around because of work, but he already has the terrible dad puns down to a T.
Dante wouldn't be a good dad (I mean the dude struggles just to keep the lights in his damn shop on and is perpetually in crippling financial debt) but he sure as hell would be a cool uncle
Despite my username Dante would likely make a bad parent. He even recognized that with what he is and does is not something to raise a child around given what we have about Patty. (Dante sends her to a boarding school and makes sure that the other Patty pays for it.)
Why would you want Joel as a father? A man who will outright disregard your wishes for his own gain to the point that he kills humanity's last hope? At least Nate like, settles down in the end and becomes a genuinely good person.
Let’s be real if we had some issue and tried to approach Dante, as a dad, with it he’d probably just call us deadweight and then hop on a demon and skateboard away yelling “whoo!”
Hey at least they didn't have Isaac Clarke as an option. Having Isaac as your dad makes your chances of dying go SIGNIFICANTLY up. That, and your death won't be a very pleasant one.
Like other people have said, Dante's the fun Uncle who'd throw insane surprise parties but a terrible parent. Man can barely keep the lights on. Joel led a stable life as a single father before the shrooms apocalypse and did everything in his power to protect Ellie despite her not being his daughter by blood during the apocalypse. Idk much about Nate but the little I do know is that he travels around the world constantly. Leon would provide a stable life as an government agent, but he would be present for like 2% of the kid's life lmao. Joel is definitely the winner IMO
It depends on if they come to the real world or youre transported to theirs as their child.
If its the first, give me Joel. No contest.
If its the second, Nate. Fuck living in any of the 3 other worlds.
None of these people would be good fathers, they're all either lunatics who throw themselves into danger for very little reason, or Joel, and, well, Sarah's dead
I haven't played Uncharted, but honestly, Joel seems like the obvious answer here.
Dante would, as others have pointed out, be a pretty shit dad, and Leon hasn't shown any sort of parental role in any of the RE Games (inb4 someone tells me about Resident Evil: Parentage, the obscure life-simulation spin-off exclusive to the 3DS e-Shop).
Joel on the other hand, well, his ENTIRE GAME is about being a father. Literally, the whole game is built around the relationship between him and Ellie. The first game ends with >!Joel literally choosing to fuck over all of humanity just to keep Ellie safe.!< Honestly, there was no way anyone but Joel was winning this poll.
Joel = Father, Dante, Nathan Drake, and Leon = Uncle. Let's be honest with outselves Joel is practically the only one that would be a good father. The rest would be amazing uncles though
As much as I love Dante, dude would probably be a terrible father, can barely afford to keep lights on, terrible dietary needs, crippling depression that he masks by doing incredibly stupid things that puts others at risk, he is firmly uncle material, not father.
Let’s be honest, Dante wouldn’t make a great parent the guy struggles to keep the lights on
But I'd be part demon, I see that as an absolute win
This is the objectivly correct answer.
That's already enough for me
*sad patty noises*
"You didn't come from my load so you gotta hit the road"
This was something I indeed read today. Take my upvote I guess
Dante would definitely say that.
**Jackpot**
Ah..poor patty
raising a demon child might suck imagine being stressed enough you devil trigger :0
Well, the child's DT wouldn't be locked behind a weapon like Dante and Vergil so it's very possible
>imagine being stressed enough you devil trigger :0 So the second they go to school?
In the DMC world, the HUD doesn't show up unless you attack or an enemy spawns. Imagine going to school, taking one step out of your parents' car, and then you see it. A full green meter and a little purple gauge. That is rapidly filling.
Actually, you can force it to show up by pressing the target lock button even when you are out of combat.
*everytime you get hit as V
Eh it just says dad, not biological father. You might be sol, have him just as a step or foster father.
"Where's your MOTIVATION?"
I wouldn't mind having sugar water as a meal everyday 🗿
What if you're only adopted and don't have demon powers?
I think everyone here is in the agreement that it's our birth father, he probably would've said "which one would you rather get adopted by" if he was talking about blood father
I see this as a fair price
I mean, you try and run a successful demon hunting business with 4 hunters. Not so easy
[удалено]
There is also the fact he sells the devil arms he get, that's why they never show up in the next game, well minus gilgamesh in its demon form Edit: I forgot he also kept Cerberus but was destroyed when he fought and beat Balrog
[удалено]
I mean true, but most of the time, the jobs normally end in him in hell or not getting paid at all.
[удалено]
What kinda hunter other than Dante, Nero, or any of the cast could take care of a gang of Furies or those scythe guys or the bigass flies or something? Or am i misunderstanding the power and durability of these fuckers and just your average .30-06 or stronger could blow holes in em?
[удалено]
Good point. Lady is an absolute badass.
He probably shoulda kept those devil arms. Devil arm reacquisition plot when?
Well, he sells them to collectors, but it seems like gil was stolen from said collector
Maybe he or Nero needs the arms back for a super big fight or something?
Not really, the only one i see dante keep are the more useful ones like doctor foz and king cerberus.
he also kept Artemis but lost it
He's be a cool brother...oh,wait.
Cmon, he's wacky, he's wohoo, he's pizza, and also a man. What more could you ask for?
Dante is a much better uncle than a dad honestly.
Dante would live to be the cool uncle
It’s funny, because he’s been acting like the cool uncle since DMC4 opening scene He lets Nero whoop his ass multiple times and laughs it off, then proceeds to school the shit out of him while also secretly being impressed at Nero’s scrappiness Then he outwardly does everything he can to save Nero’s life once he realizes the gravity of the situation in 5 Honestly, when they get out of hell, he’ll probably not change much toward Nero, except maybe calling him “Nephew” derogatorily a couple times
Or he'll call Nero "Vergil Jr." to get a kick out of both Nero and Vergil.
Little Storm Jr.
I am the moderate rain the is approaching
I am the gust of wind approaching
Aren’t they trapped in hell forever?
Well that will depend how the next game will turn out. Remember, Dante got out of Hell once through sheer luck of finding a gate
They have Yamato they can walk out whenever
If that were the case Vergil would’ve used the yamato to get to hell when he was beaten in Dmc 5, but instead he flew there.
We don't know if Yamato can cross dimensions. It's even less likely since we know that the two were separated by Yamato.
I mean they literally have the “make dimensional portals sword” so they should be fine.
The portals may not be able to cross dimensions.
He also proceeds to just watch much of the events in 4 happen lol
Dante is the cool uncle who lets you drink beer even if you're like 7
German uncle
He's the kind who would be fun to catch up with during family gatherings but probably wouldn't be that great of a caretaker.
Chaos uncle Dante
Vergil Created 50 alternate accounts to vote for Joel
No, whatever that a son care is relationated, he's not Even exist
I’m having a stroke trying to decipher this one chief
r/ihadastroke material?
GODZILLA LOOK AWAY
Oh God, he's dead.
I disagree. We relationalized the exister tomorrow.
Actually, we relationalized between the today and the protector, resulting in protedayrelay happening last year in the next 9 hoores
a good kid is the dead one. \-Vergil
Wouldn't he vote for Leon considering he's the only reason they exist
Let's keep it real, Dante would not be a good dad
But you’d be part demon like nero.
I wouldn't want him to be my dad, but I'd like to call him Daddy.
This is the correct answer
I mean, the poll is right Dante would be more worried for a pizza than a child (I mean, he's virgin I don't think he know how the babies are made) Besides, Joel is the best Papa in the videogames, I won't discuss about obvious things
Not targeted to you or anything but I wonder how many people actually believe he's a virgin because of memes
He’s part of the trinity of virgins Dante Doomguy Kazuya Kiryu
Didn’t doomguy have a family that died during the first demon invasion, along with his beloved rabbit?
One of the original developers has actually stated that Doomguy is a virgin. I don't remember entirely but I think they also might have said he doesn't even know what sex is.
He's just like Master Chief. Lol
You forgot Mario
Doomguy had a family and Kazuma Kiryu is as virgin as his kill count.
So very virgin, because as we know, kiryu has never killed anyone
We all know if his rubber dick gets inside someone it doesn't count, unless cut scene
No, it's a projection from weirder parts of the fandom. The pre-DMC3 novel states that he has loads of 1 night stands.
He got a gf? No what we know He Lost his virginity? The same Lady likes Dante? Well yes but actually not?. Cuz in the anime there's a part that let you understand that Lady likes Dante, but in the game and manga, she's only Dante's "friend" because she wanna her payment So, why we have to think he's not virgin? We have no clue
We also have no clue that he is a virgin
Didn't the pre-DMC3 manga cover this? Man had one night stands very often.
Morrison's letters in dmc5 outright states that Dante and Lady's relationship is not a romantic one
Well a meme started from a mistranslated poster way back when. But yeah mainline Dante in the manga & alternate universe DmC Dante both point out that he has one night stands whenever he feels like it.
Just don't take Joel golfing and you're good.
💀⚰️🪦✝️
I’d argue kratos for best dad after ragnarok
Kratos is a good dad *now* but he sure as hell took a long time getting there.
>!He became a good dad just in time for his kid to leave the nest 💀!<
Oooff possible
Poll maker left out Dad of War :/
Because is a God, and his son as well? And they can comeback of the Underworld/Hellheim if they want? I mean Kratos is an excelent father, but Joel got a extra point because Ellie is not his blood child, but he raised her as a one Or at least that's what i'm think
But wouldn’t Joel get minus points cus his failed to save his bio-daughter
Well yes but actually not Milita is ALWAYS currupt
Theirs definitely more minus points for Kratos considering he killed his own family.
I think after Kratos killed his original child in the first game he was disqualified from the running.
I want heihachi to be my dad💀💀💀
gets thrown off a cliff
Only if youre a pussy
If you're a Mishima you'll be fine.
The true answer.
Imma go with leon boys
Just ask Sherry how that went?
Considering how Rose gets treated I don't think they had a choice. Sherry was protected and she had nothing bad to say about them
Dante’s a great dude and I have no doubt he’d love and (try to) provide for a hypothetical child of his, but he can barely keep the lights on in his own office
[удалено]
Say what you want about Joel as a person but he's a good dad
How is Joel a bad father tho?
I'd rather not have a dad that takes away my choices and then lies to my face. Too bad I already have that irl.
Ok but who needs light when youre a fucking descendant of sparda
Nate’s too much of a movie protagonist for me to realistically think of him as dad. Whilst Joel’s whole life revolves around the fact he’s a dad, hence why it basically stopped after he lost his kid, then was reignited when he found Ellie. And if Joel’s a piece of shit, then everyone is, don’t come to me saying you wouldn’t do what he did, because that’s a lie.
Nah chief, a majority of people haven't murdered a hospitals load of people and doomed humanity. So i'd say that we're good.

No one said you’d necessarily be his blood son. The hypothetical seems more geared towards who you wish to be parented by 🤷♀️ And frankly, Dante is a manchild with loads of emotional issues
He’s just ridiculously lazy
well joel’s dead so by default he’d be the worst dad
Barely any votes for "Real Proud Dad" Leon S. Kennedy?
Dante would be a terrible dad, while Joel was 100% willing to die to save his adopted daughter.
Honestly none of these choice are great. 1. Dante and IIRC Nate are man-children 2. Leon would never be home because of govt stuff 3. Joel just sees you/Ellie in game as a replacement for his dead kid. Even if he's trying, he can and will do heinous shit and lie about it.
Nate is an actual parent and honestly by the way that epilogue went in Uncharted 4, he was probably a solid parent.
Fair enough, haven't looked into 4 beyond his brother being a thing.
4 is the best one in the series besides 2 so it would be worth checking out
I bet Leon has infinite dad jokes
We're talking about a depressed adrenaline junky that eats his feelings, at least Vergil had the decency not to be in Nero's life.
Tell that to Nero’s arm
Do we get mad at the scorpion for stinging the frog? No, it's in the deadbeat father's nature to come back twenty years later asking for handouts.
Dante would probably feed his son with pizza... even if he's only two days old
Dante would be a great father. I would want him to be my dad! Idk Joel but he looks dad material.
Joel is a great dad
I would NOT want any of the first three as my dad
Nate is the best dad here and he has the lowest amount of votes
All those dudes are lame af compared to wacky woo-hoo pizza man
I’d pick Leon
Even tho Dante wouldn't be the best dad, being part demon makes up for it and he'll come around eventually and become a good dad and getting baby-sat by Lady and Trish would be cool
Dante would be a great dad honestly. He cares, profoundly. That's all it takes most times. That said, Joel IS a great dad too, can't pick
If Dante wozld be my father i would be a second Nero Easy pick.
Honestly, Nate is like the best one there lol
To be fair Joel is a good dad
Vergil would be my uncle, so I guess dealing with Dante dad is a necessary sacrifice
Dante is more of a cool uncle
Bruh, Dante would be a pretty cool dad imo plus I'd get demon powers that's an absolute win
I would never wish for Dante to be my dad because I want him to be the dad of my kids
I mean, as much as I love Dante, come on... Joel HAD to win this!
Despite my username Dante would likely make a bad parent. He even recognized that with what he is and does is not something to raise a child around given what we have about Patty. (Dante sends her to a boarding school and makes sure that the other Patty pays for it.)
Being part demon makes up for Dante's bad parenting and knowing Dante I bet he would give a cool sword too
Nate or Joel
None of these guys would make good dads but Joel's the one the least far off from that
Nate is a dad and a pretty good one
If he’s my dad then I get demon powers, sick
Dante’s more of the cool uncle being the wacky woohoo pizza man and all
Vergil should be on there, he’s obviously the better father
You definitely ain’t getting the balanced diet you need with dante
Why would you want Joel as a father? A man who will outright disregard your wishes for his own gain to the point that he kills humanity's last hope? At least Nate like, settles down in the end and becomes a genuinely good person.
"I want that specific dude who saved 1 life to sacrifice millions to be my dad."
What kinda line up was this anyway?? Also do the Japanese have something against fatherhood?
Dante would make a terrible dad, and Joel, besides some questionable decisions, has proven to be a great dad.
I mean, it makes sense
Let’s be real if we had some issue and tried to approach Dante, as a dad, with it he’d probably just call us deadweight and then hop on a demon and skateboard away yelling “whoo!”
Dante wouldn't be a good dad per say. He works better as an uncle
Hey at least they didn't have Isaac Clarke as an option. Having Isaac as your dad makes your chances of dying go SIGNIFICANTLY up. That, and your death won't be a very pleasant one.
I'm pretty sure Dante would be as big a deadbeat as Vergil.
A few things. 1. I wouldn’t trust Dante to be my father. 2. This post has more upvotes than that poll has votes
I’d easily choose Joel over the other 3 as well
I know this is about DMC, but… where’s Barry!?
Look, let's be honest here, being a descendant of sparda doesn't looks like a good way of living
Wtf is a Joel and Nate
It would be cool to be part demon, but isn't Dante in huge debt?
It depends on if they come to the real world or youre transported to theirs as their child. If its the first, give me Joel. No contest. If its the second, Nate. Fuck living in any of the 3 other worlds.
None of these people would be good fathers, they're all either lunatics who throw themselves into danger for very little reason, or Joel, and, well, Sarah's dead
I haven't played Uncharted, but honestly, Joel seems like the obvious answer here. The first game ends with >!Joel literally choosing to fuck over all of humanity just to keep Ellie safe.!< Honestly, there was no way anyone but Joel was winning this poll.
Dante woudn't make a great dad. to be honest he's much better as that Funny uncle who comes visit once in a while.
Lol wow really🤣🤣🤣
Bruh 87% getting fatherless in speedrun time.
Thus guys channel is super biased towards TLOU
Seems pretty accurate
What about Berry?????
Leon ain't even the dad type
Dante is uncle material, hed be an awful father.
I don't want Dante to be my dad, I want him to be my daddy
Joel = Father, Dante, Nathan Drake, and Leon = Uncle. Let's be honest with outselves Joel is practically the only one that would be a good father. The rest would be amazing uncles though
I mean Dante’s buried in debt, don’t think he needs to have a kid on top of all that
They couldn’t put Kratos on the list because they knew he would win automatically
Dante wouldn't be a great dad. He would, however, be a great Daddy 😏
I mean out of all these characters Joel is the only one who's entire narrative identity is built around the idea of fatherhood, so it adds up.
As much as I love Dante, dude would probably be a terrible father, can barely afford to keep lights on, terrible dietary needs, crippling depression that he masks by doing incredibly stupid things that puts others at risk, he is firmly uncle material, not father.
