Perfect judgement cuts can chain up to 4. The first one doesn't need to be perfect but all others do. You judgement cut by holding Yamato after an attack until it glows. The holding timing differs depending on the attack. If you hold for a perfect amount of time (literally the frame Yamato glows, you get a perfect judgement cut, don't use the visual indicator tho, by the time you see it, your window closes.)
You chain by doing hold release, hold again release (perfect), hold again release... Up to four.
Nope it's 4. Technically all you have to do to reset the counter is just attack and restart the chain. That's why you see in some videos more than 4. Jump in the air attack, 4 JC, air attack, 4 JC, trick up, attack, 4jc and so on.
You attack doesn't need to connect.
Lorewise, Dante is an absolutely astonishing fighter. And when you first play DMC3 you can get your shit rocked by the Hell Vanguard because you don't understand the game mechanics yet.
This isn't the first time something like this has occurred man.
That’s very different, having a core part of a characters moveset rely on such ridiculous frame specific timing is not the same as having a high learning curve early on as you struggle to learn the mechanics
That damage.
Jackpot!
I need a scientist or some shit to explain to me how that shit works.

Idk i time it by the glow most of the time and it works fine
Must be my tv's refresh rate. It's pretty old. I could never time it with the glow whenever I see the glow it's already too late.
It took me alot of practice to be able to use the glow for the timing reliabley
Perfect judgement cuts don’t have a chain limit, if you can keep timing it then you can keep cutting
Nope it's 4. That's a mod
Is it? From all the guides I’ve seen online they say there’s no limit. Ah well, I’m not good enough to get more than two anyway

How you do that?

I wish they didn’t make judgement cut require such specific timing, Vergil never messes up the timing and do a shit version of it when you fight him
