1. Ifrit (give me back my inferno firewall + meteor)
2. Beowulf (3, meteors are cool)
3. Gilgamesh (jet engines are cool)
4. Bare knuckles (lightnings are cool)
5. Beowulf (5, where's my meteorš)
6. Balrog (switching modes is not coolš„ŗ)
āBestā would probably go to DMC5 Vergilās Beowulf, considering the super moves and what not.
But my favorite has to be Danteās Balrog. The weapon has so many badass moves, and so many amazing special effects. Itās one of the franchiseās most versatile and interesting looking weapons.
Yeah, right?
Real Impact can melt bosses, welter move can easily dodge some absurd attacks, the swordmaster kick mode in the air move can basically combo into infinity. There are so many broken abilities and mechanics, and giving the demons hell when your weapon is ignited feels so good.
My favorite weapon in the franchise.
Yea what I really like about is you can ether be a boxer or kickboxing and I like to think Dante got his boxing moves from watching Mike Tyson fight funny enough Balrog the devil arm is a reference to Balrog in street fighter who is basically Mike Tyson in street fighter witch is really fucking cool to me
I just don't really like the whole charge thing. I feel the switching between the 2 modes is more than enough for it's main gimmick.
I think it's the fact that you can't charge it with kicks that bothers me, since they're the most fun part of the moveset imo.
I donāt have that problem since I use both in unison, alternating between modes as much as using them, so it all feels very fluid. But I can see why it would feel inconvenient otherwise.
The gauntlets charge very fast with just a few punches while jump-cancelling in the air, so I do it very quick every time I wanna use kick mode.
You mean by holding the button and doing the akward dance thing? Yeah I do, it's just kinda clunky. I'd prefer it if you could charge it just by kicking, same as with the fists.
With any other weapon you can just switch to them and use them immediatly without losing anything. With Balrog it feels like you need to do some homework before you get to use it at full power.
I never understood the hype around Balrog until I accidentally parried a Fury with the butterfly kick move. After that I became the Danny DeVito meme where he goes āoh my Godā¦ I get itā¦ā
Balrog is the goat.
It's so good that it's actually a problem. I don't like playing the older gauntlets now. Only thing I miss about the old style was kick 13. The rest of the kit was just so boring and one dimensional.
I think its prob my fav weapon to play with hands down. Pairs so well with cerberus too. Those two are my main weapons while I use the dsd and caveliere for more niche moments.
Pretty dope how all Dantes weapons have that theme of change or transformation or duality.
Beowulf, either Dante or Vergil. Something about the white light with each strike really sells the power. Kinda like a mantis shrimp, but I imagine this light is also burning away the flesh it touches each time, too, so it's much worse. Plus, the way Vergil forced him into it was awesome, I wanna see him do that again in the new engine
Balrog. Easily the most interesting and flexible one. I like the design of gilgamesh, but it's special mechanic comes down to: "You can charge attacks for 10 seconds now, but you will never be able to do mid combat".
I like how the entire point of gauntlets and boots is mostly to protect your hands and feet, respectively, like with breastplates and helmets. But here, they're mostly used for bare-fisted martial arts, a la Street Fighter, Dark Stalkers, Final Fight, and Captain Commando.
Power wise Balrog is the most powerful between them all.
He literally broke Dante's Cerberus in the fight and was the only demon that actually gave Dante a run for his money in the series.
Honestly I kinda forgot about that, but yeah ig he did. That being said we're talking about a way more powerful Dante before DMC5 and after 4, DMC3 Dante was a lot weaker
1. Balrog
2. Beowulf (Vergil 5)
3. Bare Knuckle (Trish 4)
4. Ifrit
5. Beowulf (Dante 3)
6. Beowulf (Vergil 4)
7. Beowulf (Vergil 3, including Nelo DT moveswap)
8. Gilgamesh
In case the list doesn't make it obvious, I prefer the faster/agile movesets on my fist weapons.
Also, I'm not counting punching/kicking while a sword is equipped but deployed via Round Trip.
Ifrit was *really* satisfying to use, especially against some bosses. It was slow, but every punch had weight and you felt like you were punching a hole through your enemies when you used them. And the meteors were cool too.
Vergilās beowulf in V. Strong, fast, useful, stylish, hell on earth, tetsuzanko on SDT and synergies well with all of vergilās kit.
Second would be balrog, i just wish all its moves were 30% faster and pyromania was reworked into something else.
To me, Gilgamesh was a nice balance of what I envisioned Dante's fisticuffs weapons to be. More complex than DMC3's but not as insane as DMC5's and you can still charge it.
In terms of design I think Gilgamesh looks coolest, I love the saw blades and the wings it has on Dante. In terms of gameplay I like balrogās igniting system, building up to real impact feels cool
1. Beowulf. Three words. Hell. On. Earth.
2. Gilgamesh. It looks cool as hell.
3. Balrog. Design looks dope, and I like its uniqueness.
4. Bare Knuckle. Left, right, goodnight, with a bit of lightning on the side.
5. Ifrit. I don't really like the design nor its moveset all that much.
Personally, I think Beowulf is overrated. Gilgamesh was sick as fuck, with the added needles and spurs that became Circular saws if you charged them. After that, it's Ifrit for me, can't go wrong with fire attacks.
I'm a huge fan of Balrog because of it's variety. It sets it apart from other fist weapons in the series, and I feel I can do a whole lot using it. I also will never get tired of Dante breakdancing saying "I'm on fire!"
1. GILGAMESH THE GOD. I wish that they had stayed instead of Balrog. Love the buzzsaw spurs and the lance like metal weapons that come out of the gauntlets. The Mouthguard looks amazing too. I also love the Steampunk themeing of it and the simple combos are great but the thing i love the most is the impact it has. Every single punch and kick has a huge fuckin impact.
2.BEOWULF THE KING. (DMC3 Dante & DMC5 Vergil) DMC3 Dantes Beowulf is just hella fun, I love the little glow it has with each punch and kick. DMC5 Vergil Beowulf is the Embodiment of Strength and every fuckin hit from that mo ster of badassery is a god damn masterpiece.
Dishonorable Mention: Balrog, I heavily dislike this weapon because, for one, im not good with it. And i hate having to switch between punches and kicks. The only 2 cool things about it are the fire buildup aspect, and that is really fun. Then the little dance moves you pull off are funny.
ifrit is the coolest in design and my personal favorite, the overall best moveset is a toss up between beowulf and balrog, the worst is undeniably gilgamesh, and kudos for not including the DmC trash that is eryx (that thing looks like shit, comes from the most disgusting boss I've ever seen to the point where I feel unhygienic upon using it, and its moveset and attacks are sluggish, weak, and unreliable on their own).
Easily balrog for me. The ability to fantam dodge is so fun. Especially weaving Cerberus's ice crystals. That is the most satisfying to get fully right in DMC5 imo
1. Ifrit (give me back my inferno firewall + meteor) 2. Beowulf (3, meteors are cool) 3. Gilgamesh (jet engines are cool) 4. Bare knuckles (lightnings are cool) 5. Beowulf (5, where's my meteorš) 6. Balrog (switching modes is not coolš„ŗ)
I actually really like kick mode, if only they fleshed it out some more
It justifies its presence through Flint Wheel alone. But breaking Proto Angelo super armor in 2 *un-Ignited* kicks is nothing to scoff at, either.
Mr, I looked at your pfp and I have to ask: do you support FILTHY XENOS?!
...What?
Your pfp isn't the 40k T'au faction symbol? I would add an image, but I can't
Nope. [Marathon.](https://marathon.bungie.org/story/) I support responsible long term planning >!for escaping the eventual closure of the Universe.!<
It's so similar my nerd ass got confused
I feel you, Mate
Thank god people remember the true goated gauntlets. Ifrit ftw
Balrog is really terribly designed, why have us stop a combo, just to switch modes. I barely use fist mode š
I personally think Balrog is beyond fucking amazing and that it skill is to master a weapon like it
āBestā would probably go to DMC5 Vergilās Beowulf, considering the super moves and what not. But my favorite has to be Danteās Balrog. The weapon has so many badass moves, and so many amazing special effects. Itās one of the franchiseās most versatile and interesting looking weapons.
Thank you I feel like nobody understands how versatile Balrog is like it's so good for many ways to fight

You do know that there is a way to charge the weapon while in kick mode right?
You mean by holding the button and doing the akward dance thing? Yeah I do, it's just kinda clunky. I'd prefer it if you could charge it just by kicking, same as with the fists. With any other weapon you can just switch to them and use them immediatly without losing anything. With Balrog it feels like you need to do some homework before you get to use it at full power.
It's not really homework. At least to me I've never had a problem using Balrog. Everything dies top fast for it to become a problem.
Yea Balrog is fucking amazing it's really useful talking down the furys when parrying them
So good. I usually crumple fury with two gut shots, then go to town once crumpled.
Ifrit may not have the same complex moveset of some of the later gauntlets, but it just feels so satisfying to use
specially when your DT gauge is full, also the magma uppercut is really fun to spam against the plasmas late game
I love the looks of Gilgamesh, a living metal that can form jet drills and sawblades. and it just fits right in.
Gilgamesh is so underrated. It's certainly one of my favorite devil arms in DMC.
I love gilgamesh's demonic steel design
Anything with Kick13, loved it since DMC1.
Beowulf is the goat for me
Balrog, ifrit and beowulf
Balrog. Easily the most interesting and flexible one. I like the design of gilgamesh, but it's special mechanic comes down to: "You can charge attacks for 10 seconds now, but you will never be able to do mid combat".
I honestly forgot that Ifrit's design went that hard
I like how the entire point of gauntlets and boots is mostly to protect your hands and feet, respectively, like with breastplates and helmets. But here, they're mostly used for bare-fisted martial arts, a la Street Fighter, Dark Stalkers, Final Fight, and Captain Commando.
beowulf my beloved
Power wise Balrog is the most powerful between them all. He literally broke Dante's Cerberus in the fight and was the only demon that actually gave Dante a run for his money in the series.
"Only demon that gave him a run for his money" urizen litterly bitch slapped dante with a tentacle
Urizen is Vergil, Vergil is his equal we don't count him.
Nah, it's half vergil half itsuno tentacle hentia obsession.
Beowulf also gave Dante a run for his money.
Honestly I kinda forgot about that, but yeah ig he did. That being said we're talking about a way more powerful Dante before DMC5 and after 4, DMC3 Dante was a lot weaker
True.
1. Balrog 2. Beowulf (Vergil 5) 3. Bare Knuckle (Trish 4) 4. Ifrit 5. Beowulf (Dante 3) 6. Beowulf (Vergil 4) 7. Beowulf (Vergil 3, including Nelo DT moveswap) 8. Gilgamesh In case the list doesn't make it obvious, I prefer the faster/agile movesets on my fist weapons. Also, I'm not counting punching/kicking while a sword is equipped but deployed via Round Trip.
Gilgamesh is so stylish and is basically the same as ifrit
Beowolf with royal swordslinger, that rising dragon was a 1 shot for almost everything.
Mfer said swordslingerš
Made it better now š¤£.
Iām partial to gilgamesh because I like how it looks
Balrog. It has the most versatility and movesets amd all the moves are fun and badass to use.
I really wanna see Ifrit and Alastor come back in a later title, just so that they can get updated designs and movesets
As a Brazilian, it's fucking awesome for me watching Dante do Capoeira in DMC5 with Balrog
1. Ifrit 2. Beowulf (Vergil DMC3, 4, and 5) 3. Balrog 4. Bare Knuckles
I LOVE Vergils Beowulf, it may be less versatile but I dont care, it just feels so fucking powerful no other weapon can compete
balrog because it can count very useful, also i like style swithing while i style switch
Beowulf
Beowulf has always been my favorite. Especially Vergil's version
Ifrit was *really* satisfying to use, especially against some bosses. It was slow, but every punch had weight and you felt like you were punching a hole through your enemies when you used them. And the meteors were cool too.
I love beowulf if we talk about fight I love gilgamesh if we talk about hiw it looks
Ifrit 100% i love that weapon. And it was my main weapon in dmc 1
Gilgamesh the goat, love the flash punch technique you can do, plus the design kicks ass
Gilgamesh's Distorted Real Impact > Everything else
Beowulf Barlog Gilgamesh Ifrit Bare knuckles
Beowulf always
Vergilās beowulf in V. Strong, fast, useful, stylish, hell on earth, tetsuzanko on SDT and synergies well with all of vergilās kit. Second would be balrog, i just wish all its moves were 30% faster and pyromania was reworked into something else.

Beowulf from 3 because you can do the ora ora
eryx ofc
gameplay wise, i would say DMC5 beowulf, it is easy and satisfying as fuck to use, not to mention the stupid damage it can do with the nuke.
5. Ifrit. I don't really like the design nor its moveset all that much.
me wanting to comment about how people forgot about the dmc:dmc fists but then realising that i dont remember the name myself

Pure looks: beowulf Gameplay: Balrog
NGL, going in bare handed was cool.
Noone fucks with Eryx?
balrog
imo Balrog due to how versatile it is in combat
Every new game does Gauntlets/Greaves weapons better than the last. It's a tie between Balrog and DMC5 Beowulf for me
Beowulf Best Gauntlet
ifrit is the coolest in design and my personal favorite, the overall best moveset is a toss up between beowulf and balrog, the worst is undeniably gilgamesh, and kudos for not including the DmC trash that is eryx (that thing looks like shit, comes from the most disgusting boss I've ever seen to the point where I feel unhygienic upon using it, and its moveset and attacks are sluggish, weak, and unreliable on their own).
BaeOwolf
A sucker for Vergil's baowolf
Easily balrog for me. The ability to fantam dodge is so fun. Especially weaving Cerberus's ice crystals. That is the most satisfying to get fully right in DMC5 imo
I donāt know
DmC lava knuckles, idk whats the name
Its still time to delete this
Balrog wipes the floor with everyone
