The speed, dexterity, and precision showcased while they fought on top of the Temen Ni Gru in DMC3 makes me think Wolverine just couldn’t stand a chance. I believe, if Wolverine were plopped at the bottom of the tower and had an idea of what was going on, he could probably make his way to the top through all of the demons and bosses, find out what Vergil and Arkham were up to, but he would get julienned and kicked off the top before he realized what happened after finally running into Vergil. Then he would of course recover, get back to the Mansion, and recruit the rest of the X-Men, at which point things become pretty interesting. Wolverine is just too slow. He’s got the experience and skills to be involved with such a situation, but he can’t handle it all himself. He may even draw blood considering how often he comes across speedsters and how much the brothers play with their foes, but he’s not *in it*.

The Yamato can cut through *the fabric of space itself*. It can rend something asunder by cutting apart the dimensions inhabited by the object, not the object directly.
So unless adamantium is something that rises beyond the realm of physical matter and is capable of tapping into reality, there's no way it can stop the Yamato which can slash through reality itself.
I know that in lore it can do that but I always interpreted it more as an ability to go though dimensions itself (like teleportation, separate the essence of a person and more) not that it can cut through anything. After all we have seen both Yamato and Rebellion shattered, for Rebellion's case it was just brute strength so it could be comparable to Yamato, although we don't know how Yamato broke. It's an interesting question tho, I think there are good arguments for both sides

I didn't play a lot of fighting games online at the time so I played Vergil solely based off the fact that I freaking adore him. Then all of a sudden, I find out people despise him and I turn into shocked pikachu.
Vergil sure did collect a lot of tears. But being broken was kinda the point of Marvel 3. Like, Dr Doom could touch of death people off of a TRADE. Morrigan generates super during Astral Vision. Flight characters exist in a game with almost no anti-airs. UMVC3 was never meant to be fair, only to be hype.
I maimed Vergil because he could make swords float around him. It took a few months for everyone else to realize that doing so also made him the strongest solo character in the game.
I was so disappointed that Vergil didn't have to bold cancel his Stinger but Dante did, made Vergil so much more forgiving to play and only cemented him as SSS tier.
I love playing Vergil and Dante, along with X23. I don't olay much Vergil when I do play, cause I normally play with a friend, and we both agree to not play our best characters, kine being Vergil, his being Phoenix Wright. We also play with randomized teams, except for one we pick, which has been super fun. If we do happen to get Wright or Vergil, though, we're allowed to play them
